    Spring pea salad
    Lacey D.

First- this is a gorgeous place and setting. If you can go at a time when you can sit outside, do it! The service was friendly and attentive although the overall process had a slow pace to it. My husband got the Spring pea salad- it was delicious! Everything tasted fresh and crisp. I got the apple, Brie, and turkey sandwich with salad as the side. The sandwich was delicious, it had lots of turkey. I would add more apple for better balance but it was still good as it was. If we are in the area I would definitely stop in again!

Their Thai inspired pizza was so good that we ordered one more, so that's a 5 star choice. Their Thai dishes were good and i will rate them 3.5. Service was superb and definitely 5 start ++ across the board. Its a lovely place with lots of seating options inside and outside and we felt comfortable w/ covid19 mitigation

Salads on a hot day.. great beverage and a pile of nachos. My kind of place. Nachos were delish. Loaded with goodies including spicy jalapeño and fresh tomatoes. Prefer better black olives but I enjoyed my stop here. Service was excellent!

Let's first start by saying that there really isnt a lot of places up in the West Forks to dine, but this is one place, you do not want to miss. The food is excellent, the staff are personable, and friendly, and the hand carved wood work is just breath taking. The prices are a little high, but you need to consider what it takes to get the supplies out this far. The pizza is excellent here. We are in the area quite often and always stop in for something to eat and a drink. Drink selection is small but there is something for everyone. One thing that is a must try... the deep fried ice cream! So good!

Logan and I stopped in before rafting for breakfast. It opened at 7am that morning, when we got there, only one other party was there and told us we would be told to sit wherever. After a few minutes of waiting, we picked a seat by the window. We had a view into the kitchen and realized that on this particular morning only one woman was running the entire place. Serving and cooking breakfast. So we got menus, not huge or super elaborate, but a good selection. I got an avocado benny and logan got a western omelet and we shared a pancake. The omelet was superb and I was sad I didn't get one too. Nice, thick and fluffy with big chunks of the goods. Mine was also good, perfectly cooked home fries came with both! Pancake was okay, but when you're cooking all of it, we figured we weren't going to fault them on that. The waitress was nice and polite. The coffee was huge. It was a great surprise in a town so small. Also just a note on how gorgeous the building was. We were blown away inside.

Beautiful views and great service and friendly staff..

Our first night was good - however - the second night we had a rowdy group of folks next to us. (Try to get a spot in the corner - to ensure a bit more quiet.) Our guides - Tom and Bethany - were knowledgeable and great fun to be with. Despite the chilly, overcast weather - we had great fun! We LOVED the homemade chocolate chip cookies during the snack stop on our adventure. And the lunch at the end of the trip was tummy-stuffing. The campsite we had was perfect. Right next to the Dead River. The young people that I had with me were bored after the trip so they were able to use the ducky boats to go down the river to a landing at crusher hole. They had a lot of fun doing this. Bethany was our guide for the first trip. We hadn't been in the run very long when one of my sons (The one that thought this was going to be a carnival ride) slipped out and became a swimmer. With her ability we were able to retrieve him and continue on. The cookies at the snack stop were excellent. The lunch/early dinner was delicious. On my second trip my fiancee and I went on the start of our week vacation starts on the labor day weekend. We had a lot of fun with all of the people that were around prior to the big water run down the Dead River on Sunday. We had to get primed for the trip. The camp site we had was not on the river this time but an excellent place to camp. The trip on Sunday was awesome just like the June trip. We had others in our group that we got to know. This made the trip even more fun. The dinner and party that night was great. The people up there are so nice that we decided to stay until Thursday. We Kayaked with the help of the shuttle and we hiked around the hills. If I were to find a fault is that there is was no electric or water and no dumping station. There are however showers and bathrooms that are clean and well lite. I have heard rumors that water and electric may have been installed. This may sound like an advertizement but it is not. This is truly a wonderful experience for any family, couple or group. I highly recommend this wonderful piece of heaven for your family outing. P.S. The bar is the coolest bar in Maine.

Motel was booked solid so I went with a campsite this time around and I am so glad I did. Check-in was again a breeze and the staff are just so nice. Having inquired as to my activities in the area, they remembered the details and brought in up in conversation whenever we ran into each other. A nice personal touch. I stayed at campsite #9 "Double Decker" and it was the perfect size for my medium sized tent and large SUV. It came with a fire pit and picnic table. When you first round the bend, the campsites seem squeezed in there but the site itself felt pretty private once I settled in and I was not bothered by the full campground surrounding me. Quiet hours by 10pm made getting rest for my weekend activities easy peasy. As a solo camper, I felt very safe here. The nearby lounge area had a television, kitchen w. oven, range, refrigerator, and freezer, television, electrical outlets, games and more. Toilets and coin-operated showers were on the backside of this building. I don't mind pay showers but wished I got a little bit more time for my first four quarters as I was scrambling to put more in as I rushed through each visit. Bring plenty with you if you like to take your time. Firewood available for purchase (delivered to your campsite!) along with some other staples. Would absolutely stay here again. And again. We stayed here for two nights around Columbus Day weekend…read more This was overall a pretty awesome place to stay. This was the first time I've ever stayed at a "motel" style lodging and I expected it to be infested with bed bugs, stains, and dirt. Honestly - this motel was cleaner than a lot of the more expensive chain hotels I've stayed at. Granted, it's a roadside motel that costs $150/night but compared to some of the lodging in the area, the price wasn't totally unreasonable and it was shockingly clean. Our room was pretty updated and the motel seemed to be kept up and well maintained. Yes - as another reviewer said - the walls are thin but that was never a huge issue (and is usually an issue with most older hotels I've stayed at). The best part - there is a view from pretty much every room of Moosehead Lake which is beautiful. We stayed on the second floor which I would say is the better option. The kayaks, canoes, and peddle boats are free to use - but you are only allowed to go out 1,000 feet and can't use them for more than an hour at a time but it was still pretty fun and is certainly a nice option to have (it's really awesome they don't charge to use them - huge plus as most hotels would probably charge an arm and a leg for that). There is free wifi as well which is a huge plus - although it was kind of spotty at times and not very fast. Still - it's included with the rate so I can't complain. Overall - great lodging if you are looking for a no-frills, basic place to stay for whatever brings you to Greenville, Maine.

Simply put, here are the pros and cons; Pro: beautiful, ski-in/ski-out lodge, direct access to the Sugarloaf village, large hot tub outside that overlooks the mountain, not too unreasonable price wise (not cheap, but you are right on the mountain with amazingly close parking) and charming vibe Cons: the check-in procedure is insane. They won't let you check in until 4pm on the dot. I totally understand if they are still cleaning the rooms, but if the rooms are clean and ready to go, just let people check in at like 2 or 3. During covid, it makes zero sense to have a line of 15-20 parties all waiting to check in at the same time. We had a small baby, and there were also several old people checking in. It just seemed asinine to create a policy that goes completely against all common sense during a global pandemic. Anyway, other cons were; the room was so tiny (which isn't horrible, but there were barely any clothing hooks, shelves or drawers to put stuff in-- and who doesn't have a lot of sh--t when they are on a ski trip!?!) and the housekeeping was pretty invisible (I'm fine with not getting room service during a pandemic, but can you at least pick up my trash and give me some towels!?!). So, obviously the pros outweigh the cons, but, the cons did take away from the comfort of our stay. However, I did have a great stay. If I return, I would just come an hour or two later to check in (if it's during covid), and I'd splurge for a larger room.
