As a long time sufferer of a spinal cord injury that I received as the result of a car wreck some nine years ago. I have dealt with a considerable amount of pain over the years that it has dampened my quality of life, to the point where I felt this route was worth considering after spending thousands, upon thousands of dollars on doctors, meds, therapist, etc. I have undergone two rounds of bilateral facet joint injections, therapy, have taken various medicines for pain, muscle spasms, etc. This includes using various patches, creams, lotions, therapist, and have had little success. I feel constant pain, tightness, numbness, tingling, and have suffered various issues with my stomach as a result. All at the ripe age of 32. I have multiple herniated disc, a grade one spondylolisthesis, synovial cysts, three-disc herniation's that I know of, a compromised spinal canal, and gastritis/ polyps in my stomach. It's been tire some none the lease. I came across The Healing Clinic shortly after the passage of the medical marijuana pilot test program. I was always concerned upon the social impacts of approaching this route, but after learning of the healing capabilities of marijuana, and its byproducts. I figured I'll give it a shot. The process is intimidating, lengthy, and confusing. However, thanks to The Healing Clinic they took the difficulty out of this process for me. They were very professional, polite, understanding, compassionate, and were extremely diligent to both federal, and state laws throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend The Healing Clinic and all of its staff. All the way from the doctors to the counselors. The staff at the THC are so ever knowledgeable, and are extremely professional on the subject matter. Today is the first day of hopefully a better way of living. The first time I called the healing clinic I felt absolutely welcomed and felt like I was not being judged for seeking an alternate option in medicine. I spoke to Michael and Teresa. Both extremely caring and helpful in answering all of my questions and concerns. I decided to go ahead and make an appointment and I'm glad I did. My first visit I met with the director of that office. A gentleman, I believe he was a doctor. My apologies I was not having a good day that day but I think he was Dr. Spero. And I met Feliza as well. They both were able to answer additional questions and Feliza even provided some of her own personal experience with medical cannabis. That made me feel like I wasn't alone. After being evaluated and giving some of my paperwork, I booked my second appointment. The next visit I met with another gentlemen, this time I had my 3 young children with me. The woman from pops [people that do the fingerprints] was there and was helping me keep my child occupied, which she didn't have to do. I just remember feeling so embarrassed because i needed help but she didn't mind at all. When I met with the doctor, he also was welcoming of my children while he explained my treatment plan and was also kind to answer all my questions. Even with crying babies in the background. At the end of my visit, I got fingerprinted and took my photo for my application. Being a mom of twins and a 1 yr old, the woman with pops also assisted me in bringing my kids across the street to my car. I'm glad that my co worker referred me to them. They absolutely took care of everything for me. I did my status follow up with the health department today and they advised that they have sent my card for printing. 4/2/2016 I would like to share my experience at The Healing Center. First let me say it was a very positive experience from the office staff to the doctor. I felt more understood there than I have felt at any other doctor's office I have visited. I was treated with great respect and kindness, making me feel as though I were an important person who deserved to be helped, regardless of my circumstances. I was especially appreciative of the advocate who assisted me in making sure I had everything I needed, including the paper work that needed to be done. The doctor went out of his way to educate me on the use of medical cannabis. I am an epileptic who has tried many seizure medications. Unfortunately, they have not worked for me. I had heard of the benefits of medical cannabis in seizure patients but found no place in my area to go for help, to answer my questions, and help if I decided to pursue it. When I heard about The Healing Clinic, I was skeptical, but after the wonderfully kind treatment and efficient, well-organized staff, I am confident that my life will change in several positive ways. I hope I will no longer experience so many seizures and I will be able to participate actively in society, and pursue my career. In time, I hope that I will be able to share my experiences with the world, educating the public and encouraging greater acceptance of medical cannabis. This is an amazing clinic. When my mother-in-law had exhausted her options with prescription medications to treat her severe fibromyalgia we suggested she try medical cannibas. I could not believe how much resistance we were met with none of her current doctors would listen, many judged and none would help her through the process to get the license. It was so frustrating to say the least. After more and more days of pain I decided to Google the topic, a list of places showed up. I called a few of them and read the reviews for The Healing Clinic. I can't thank Feliza and The Healing Clinic enough. I've recommended them to everyone who asks about it If you need assistance getting information on what paperwork is required for the state certification you can't go wrong here. I am so impressed with the assistance I was given in getting certified. I went in May and was certified in June. My daughters paid for this as a Mothers Day gift. I've lived in pain for years. I'm in my mid fifties and have tried physical and occupational therapies. I have been to a world class pain management clinic which helped but didn't heal my pain. For several years I was prescribed 600 pain pills a month plus 90 muscle relaxers. In late October when the first crops were in the state issued my registration card. I didn't run out the first day the dispensaries opened but I did go in the first week and have been back. Cannabis has allowed me to take my mind of the pain which is something I told to do but was never able to do in the past. read more

I would not have my medical cannabis card today without THC's help. The process is not straight forward when working directly with the state of Illinois. If you are not guided appropriately, you can easily miss critical dates which will amount to extra fees and lost time. In response to Lauren: that totally sucks that happened, but I know where their other clinic is, they're both under the same name and ownership. The style of your review suggests kickbacks from another dispensary: but, if they're the same co, that just means they've got two locations and operate under the same license/FEIN/tax id/accounts etc. so, would u say Walgreens is getting kickbacks from Walgreens up the road? If so, please understand what kickbacks actually are. A kickback would be like me getting a prescription for adderall because the doctor was told to, and gets paid for each Rx written. I am so happy that I found the The Healing Clinic!! I was at my wits end with all of the medications that I was taking, but my Dr. didn't feel comfortable prescribing medical marijuana. He said he just did not know enough about it. His nurse told me about The Healing Clinic and said that they might be able to help me. I started my registeration in May of 2015. The staff was extremely professional and knowledgeable. I got my approval letter 2 weeks after completing my paperwork. I am 56 years old and I've been in pain for almost 20 years I accept it as part of my life. I 've gone from 500 pain pills per month to 120. I've done pain management programs at world renowned clinics, physical therapy, occupational therapy, group therapy, and yoga. I could not have asked for better care and compassion then from this doctor. He was wonderful. He did a thorough exam and was able to see point out several different things that no other doctor was able to find. Now I am being treated by my actual physician for said problems since he found them. The staff was friendly and very helpful and took care of everything right on site. Tried to like the company, but it just wasn't stable enough. There are plenty of companies that not only take insurance, you have better pricing, and an all-around better experience. This place is just too about the money, they care about you when getting your money for the initial getting your card process, then all that evaporates when you're ready to renew. out of nowhere it closed and the owner wasn't answering their phone. They also ask you for more money as the time goes on when they don't need to until you need to renew. I was going to switch dispensaries and the state office said I needed help from THC since they had set up my account 2 years ago. They do not answer their phones. Their v-mail box is full, and has been for some time. I went to their Lakeview office in person and the doors were locked and there was a sticky on the door with a number that didn't even go to voice mail. My experience was extremely positive, aside from the traffic on I55 and difficulty finding parking. I was late 30+ minutes and the staff were still able to accommodate me. The appointment was fast, painless and simple but they were still able to address any concerns I had. They also did both appointments in one day since I was traveling pretty far.
