I have lived in Fells Point for five years, and only recently decided to try the healing path after my friend got me a gift card for my birthday last year. I have heard a lot of mixed reviews about this place in the years that I've lived here but I'm really glad I gave it a go. James here is really amazing. I like a more sports therapy style massage, and he will customize your massage and do some stretching. I always feel really good after the sessions here. Prices are comparable to the area. I think it's about $130 for an hour. Christina is the owner, and she's pretty responsive. To redeem a gift card, you do have to call so just FYI I do think they offer massage services to the Pendry based on their voice message, but I can't be sure. read more

G did a fantastic job with my relaxing facial, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I bought a Groupon for a 1 hour-customized signature facial ($74.50 being the Groupon price, $105 retail), and it was around 35 minutes. When I said it was shorter than I expected, they said Groupon facials are 45 minutes. When I said that's not what it says or what I purchased, they did nothing. They suggested "calling" Groupon for a refund (even though Groupon doesn't take phone calls, and they claimed that I redeemed it to Groupon). Groupon said via e-mail that there is nothing I can do once I've "redeemed" the voucher, so "Healing" Path wasted even more of my time and I am out $75. Also, it RUINED my hair (how could they not give me a head cover??). AND I started breaking out even worse when I got home. It was a horrific experience and a complete waste of my time. read more

Four stars instead of five only because I prefer spas with the full experience - changing room, robe, etc. But this place, even without that, doesn't disappoint. Alex made me very comfortable from the start, and asked for my preferences upfront. He checked in along the way to ensure I was comfortable, and before performing certain stretches. But also allowed me to enjoy most of the massage quietly which I prefer. My facial at the Healing Path was great. Michele was super professional and informative about all of the processes while she was applying them to my face. I was glowing afterwards and am hoping that glow continues into the following week. You have to pre-pay when you make your appointment and pay for the tip in cash or via the square app in-person. I know scheduling for the facials is challenging if you do not have a flexible work schedule. I had to call multiple times in order to find a time when they would offer facials on the weekend. There's a small waiting room where they offer tea and water. It isn't as relaxing as some other spas that I have visited but I appreciate more that the spa isn't a conglomerate and is owned by a small business. I know there is a Groupon happening right now for massages and facials-- I'd absolutely recommend using that and capitalizing on the affordability of those services. read more

They could've serviced me as per my request, but instead they told me the machine wasn't up to par right now and that they recommend I speak with Oxana regarding other treatments. It had been awhile since I had a massage from a male masseuse and when asked if I had a preference I did not. Because a good/bad massage is a good/bad massage and not gender specific. In walks Alex. He was kind, asked questions specifically of my preference problem areas, pressure choices and level of comfort... Alex, applied massage techniques to the usual full body however also to my jaw, elbow, pelvis, knees and ankle areas that released tightness and knots I didn't realize I was harboring. The massage by Alex was EXCELLENT! The space was simplistic yet organically decorated, aromatically pleasant and staff were professional & affable. There were also products to purchase for the body as well as candles, and more. The only minor thing I encountered was that on a cool day the temperature in the room could have been a tad warmer upon entering and controlled up or down upon request. I've reached out via phone, left voicemails, emailed a dozen times, and have even stopped by to see if I could handle it in person (ps. you can't). Their membership coordinator is the only person that can handle this matter. I received an email (after months of sending emails) last week stating that I cannot receive a refund for my unused PREPAID credits even though I'm moving out of state and there is no way in hell I am going to get anything done with cases going back up. You WOULD think with everything going on their management team would be more understanding, especially if you're literally leaving the state and have no intentions of getting anything done-nope, not healing path. I've followed up again with phone calls/voicemails and emails and have not heard a single peep since they told me that they won't refund me. Well, there goes $240 down the drain. Do yourself a favor and don't fall for their monthly membership/contract-especially when they treat you like you don't exist when you're trying to cancel the contract. Small business, I get it. I've been here before and had a better experience. I think everyone was lovely, but this was probably the worst massage I've had. The movements were too quick and did not help me relax, and it seemed the therapist was hesitant around skin-to-skin contact (I'm a female, and the therapist was male). Though I prefer a firmer massage, this was strange, I've never walked away with as many bruises. We arrived and were greeted by an extremely friendly receptionist, who promptly handed us our charts and invited us to sit in the waiting room. She heated up some water for tea, which was a lovely touch since it was snowing outside! We then met our therapists and told them our preferences for areas to focus on. Then, we just relaxed! I went here for a massage on Fathers Day, it was a gift. As I walked in it didn't feel welcoming to new customers. The receptionist was very nice but it was as if they expected me to know my way around the facilities. The massage service was too focused on one area of my body (shoulders). I was asked what areas did I feel were bothering me and only one area was tended to. I said my whole body needed some work but my shoulders were the tightest. There was not enough communication during the service. The amount of pressure used was too much. I did not leave feeling relieved or relaxed. But actually a bit more sore. I started my journey at The Healing Path a few months ago on a Groupon. It was very easy to schedule my massage, and boy am I glad I did. Alex changed my life. I signed up for a monthly membership as soon as it was over. I continue to see Alex and look forward to our monthly session, as he is the most amazing masseuse I've ever had. I'm impressed that he still attends classes to gain more skills/knowledge that us clients benefit from! If I had more money, I'd book a session with him weekly instead of monthly.
