The Hideaway is an Old Orlando reliable. Good food and drinks at very reasonable prices. The Marino sandwich is delicious and actually 2 meals in one. The burgers and wings are also great. So is the roast beef sandwich. Basically you can't go wrong with the flavorsome menu offerings. The beer is cold and the drinks are righteous. Multiple big screens show your favorite game. The new space across the street from the original is open and has a tropical open to the outdoors layout. Most importantly the owners are nice, sincere, kind hearted people. I have been to the hideaway quite a few times in the past but after my last experience I will never go again! Went after work with a group of coworkers and we all went to a table and patiently waited for service. Seeing a new bigger table become available we all migrated over. We found some chairs and moved them over as well. A male server came up to us a couple minutes later and told us politely it was standing only and we had to put the chair back and we said okay. Then literally less than a minute later another server came up to us only to scream at us "YOU CANT HAVE CHAIRS OVER HERE!" while she banging her hand on the table. I understand that  it being a loud place but you never should yell & get aggressive with people who wanted to spend money at your establishment. We all work in the service industry and understand being frustrated but we would never do that. So we left and went to the gnarly barley. Had a wonderful experience there!! Great drinks. Great food. Came here on a Saturday afternoon from the recommendation of my boss. He was correct. One of the best burgers in town. About half a pound of meat, bacon geese and a really good bun. It took 20 minutes for someone to approach us at the bar after they made eye contact with us multiple times. They literally were doing anything they could possibly could do besides greet their customers. When we were finally greeted they were ridiculously rude. I asked about how long it would take for a certain item to come up and the bartender gave me the nastiest look and shrugged her shoulders... I didn't realize it was that crazy of a question. We decided to try a new place and hit up the Hideaway. It's a great spot and we will likely add it to our hangout place rotation! The one negative up front is parking. The parking lot behind the bar is pretty tight. Don't let that turn you away though; there are some areas to park very close by. Some of the reviews I read mentioned portapotty restrooms and cash only which are no longer the case. They do take cards and the restrooms are very clean and located inside the bar. Now for the positives! The service here was great on a Friday night. We chose to sit on the patio since it was a little cramped and loud inside. We were checked on regularly and everyone we encountered was pleasant and helpful. The drinks are good, not too overpoweringly strong and not weak. My boyfriend ordered a grilled cheese sandwich (sometimes you just want something simple!) and from my taste it was spot on and delicious. I enjoy the vibe here and the patrons all seem friendly. A great dive bar and with a very local feel which it is one of the oldest local bars still going strong despite someone driving their truck through the entrance. Seems the location is moving across the street at the end of the year to make a little bigger. Outside patio on both ends. Inside has a pool table, darts and great people that don't smell that bad! It is a Dolphins bar all year round as they should have at least one tv dedicated to past Dolphins games since the start of the franchise always playing as something to make a staple as THE Dolphins household. Food here is always random as hell as it feels like your house when you open up the free and all you got is fuckin hot pockets. We always have a great time here and its right in Ivanhoe which is a great area of Orlando right outside of Downtown. We were staying in a hotel off of Ivanhoe and were looking for a place to grab dinner on Sunday night. A search showed that that The Hideaway was nearby and had an overall rating of 4 stars... And it had "Bar" in the title, which got extra points! That said, while I love a good dive bar, this place was more cluttered and tacky vs. divey. When we pulled into the parking lot, the first thing I noticed were the porta-potties across from the patio area. I jokingly said this must be a classy place, as they had porta-potties for the patrons.. It turns out that wasn't a joke! As others have mentioned, the parking lot behind this bar is small; There were only about 8 patrons here when we arrived and we still got about the last open space. We had a look at the menu and it was pretty solid for a dive bar..Mostly burgers, wings, sandwiches and deep fried appetizers and sides, but a decent variety of all those things. I looked around and noticed that under the pool table they were storing lots of stuff in plain view of patrons, including large bundles of napkins, paper towels and boxes of other supplies. When I turned around to check out the video games and pinball, I noticed they had boxes of snack chips stacked on one of the video games between the console and the screen. I've seen in photos as old as 2010 that it's always been cluttered like this with storage under the pool table and video games. When I was looking for the restroom, I was told that the portable toilets at the entrance to the parking lot were the only option. The dispensers of hand sanitizer in the potties were empty, and there were beer bottles thrown into the toilets. The bright side was the friendliness of the staff and the fact that this place has lots of screens for watching sports and other programming. Note that they do allow smoking here, and your clothes will reek of it once you've left, even with few patrons in the place. This seems to be a bar for true and dedicated drunks, as their happy hour specials through the week start at 7 a.m. and their Saturday happy hour runs from 7 - 10 a.m. We were told by one staff member that this is primarily for the nurses and employees of the nearby medical center who want to drink after they're finished the overnight shift, and that sometimes there is a small line waiting to get in when they first open in the mornings. I got the 10 wings for $7; ranch and blue cheese are extra as was celery, but I can live with that as the wings were pretty decent sized, though the mild wings I got were dry with no real sauce on them. I also got an order of fries which were good. They had a decent amount of beers on tap and in bottles as well as a full bar. In total, with the wings, fries and 3 draft beers, my total bill came to just under $25 before gratuity. Note that The Hideaway accepts cash only, though there is an ATM on site. read more

Wow this place! Let me start off by saying the photos I took don't do the food justice. Portion sizes are insane considering how cheap it is. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak but I'm on a Keto diet so I tossed the bread and ate the steak onions and peppers. I am not exaggerating when I say that the contents of half the sand which filled up my plate. Who stuffs a sub like that??!?! These guys!!! And I'm so happy about that!! They have a nice little front patio type area you can sit and eat at. Warning, people smoke inside. So if you can't stand the smell of smoke, don't eat inside. There are ash trays at every table. Bathroom were so much nicer and cleaner than I would've expected. I think they have a Miami dolphins theme going on. Really great hole in the wall type of bar/pub. Oh parking. Someone suggested this place. I had an unexpected long delay for my flight, so I came here. What stands out the most is how nice the wait staff is. Great dives have it all: wifi, food, TVs, music, and patio. Hideaway has all that and a Star Wars pinball machine. A local hole in the wall bar located on Virginia between Mills and Orlando Avenue, this place is also home the the dolphins fans of Orlando. This is a shorts, T-shirt, shirt flip flop kinda laid back bar atmosphere at its best. Parking is minimal meaning, there is a parking lot in the back that maybe has a max of 10 cars if that and plenty of street parking also. You'll probably have to walk a little to get to this place but it's worth it. People used to smoke inside, but they since did away with that so it's breathable inside now. Outside, has about 10 tables with 2 Tv to show various sporting events. It's also dog friendly. I ordered the bacon cheddar burger and the blt since I was hungry. The BLT was your standard BLT nothing to really go into lol. Toasted rye bread and plenty of crispy bacon rounded out the sandwich. The burger was simply amazing. Comes on a normal bun with toppings according to your liking. The waitress didn't ask how I wanted the burger to be cooked but it didn't really matter. When it came out, I was salivating. The burger was on one side and the top portion was flipped over with the lettuce, tomatoe and raw onions. I assembled it and it was huge. Bacon was coming out of the burger and I couldn't be more happier lol. I had to smooth it down so I was able to bite into it. It had a crunch from the lettuce and bacon and the burger was cooked medium well but pretty juicy in my opinion. Didn't really need any other condiments which I asked for. It was that good. This place is definitely a people watching spot on any given day. Weekends are pretty busy and Sunday is pretty kicking. Give this place a visit. You definitely won't be disappointed. read more
