I was driving down larkfield road in Northport during a lunch break, looked to my left and there it was, a big sign stating PET ZONE: DOG AND CAT GROOMING. On another occasion, I stopped in to get the lay of the land. In the back was owner and groomer, Alex, at work with a white poodle, grooming away. I made an appointment and brought my cat back the following week. His fees aren't exorbitant, but his patience is. During the grooming, we chatted. Alex said he's been at this location since 2004!!!! My cat, Hannah, fidgety during most of it, but basically tolerant, looked beautiful once done. What I love about Alex is that he allows you to stay with your animal during the groom. I was so appreciative of this. I've been to one other groomer ($200!. Never again) who didn't allow me to stay with Hannah. I didn't like that. Another groomer wanted to sedate her. What!!! NOPE!! Next. Another groomer wanted her uptodate on all the vaccinations. While that maybe important in some instances, who cares about that? Just groom my cat. My vet doesn't groom. He only brushes. I NEED HER GROOMED!!! Alex groomed her and clipped her nails. Fifty-five dollars plus tip. One hour later, we were out the door. Now this Pet Zone location isn't pretty. We've used other boarding facilities out of state, but this was the first time leaving our girls in NY. We needed somewhere we could have peace of mind, and they exceeded our expectations! The Farmingdale location is gorgeous. It's spacious, beautifully laid out, and so clean that you can't detect a dog smell. In order to make a reservation though, they did have to schedule a two-hour temperament evaluation prior to their stay. Once that was completed, we were able to continue on with finalizing our reservation. They offered two suite options, the Comfort and Imperial. Jacquelyn was a pleasure to work with. She was kindhearted, friendly, and really supportive in organizing their stay. She was the primary staff member who assisted us with check-ups, updates, occasional pictures, and check-out. Initially, our dogs may have been reserved, but afterwards, they were definitely excited to be there. My husband & I could tell they had a great time. Not only were they happy but the exit bath pampered them even further. Yeah, they were spoiled and will continue to be spoiled! We plan on bringing them here for our future vacation needs. I was texted by the company on 5/11 if I wanted to book an appointment and I responded yes. No answer. Flash forward to this week trying to follow up with text messages, calls with voicemails, and even Instagram messages ( which are left on read with no response). Still nothing. When I try to book an appointment online it restricts me from booking, but my friends are able to when they create accounts. I don't know what happened to deserve this kind of treatment and if something did happen a conversation would have sufficed. I've now seen several reviews of this company ghosting their clients and it's absolutely disgusting. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!
