It's located in a car dealership filled with some of the most kind-hearted people. Seriously, what's in their coffee? Every single person who worked around here was so genuinely kind. It's accessible and easy to find a parking spot upfront. When you walk in, you'll be greeted by Coco, the bird. Don't be alarmed when they go from "hi darling" to a screech while you're digging in the store. The owner, Randy, was a joy. He had a Hot Wheels holiday sweater on and was like a Hot Wheels elf running around. Every question, he answered. He was also extremely knowledgeable about those special cars you are looking for and had like radar sensors to find them. This is definitely a collector's heaven, but if you're like me and want to buy some specific Hot Wheels for some specific kids to shove up their noses or whatever, this is also the place for you. There were several bins filled with used Hot Wheels to dig through and pick out. I was able to get a full construction site out of Hot Wheels! Prices are extremely fair, and the owner also helps you find things in your price bracket. There was no problem when I changed my mind or switched a new Hot Wheel for a used one. He let me just dig around and have a blast. I recommend this place for families, for sure. As for collectors, there were a few collectors who were here while I dug around, and they said this is the spot to go to. So if you're a collector, definitely give this place a look. Not to mention, the collectors here were so incredibly kind and generous with answering more questions I had and sharing the love of Hot Wheels with others.

Within five minutes of entering the store you'll be screaming "I had that!" as you point at the toys from your nostalgic youth. Not only limited to mainstream popular items such as GI Joes and Star Wars figures, you'll find great items from obscure childhood classics from Toxic Crusaders to Street Sharks (the greatest cartoon show on Earth). Special mention to the owner, a passionate toy lover with a flare for bringing out nostalgic memories while educating you on the history of toy series and entertainment. He made the trip extra worthwhile, as it gave my visit a personal touch. I got three very good condition Street Sharks for the low price of $20. And though I live on California, it is good to know that Dr. Tongue does shipping orders to all over the country. Relive your childhood on this Jawesome toy store.

The staff are very knowledgeable, and provided me with information on several projects my partner and I are currently working on. The owner, Zachariah, is a font of knowledge, with years of experience in the industry. Located in the Arbor Lodge neighborhood, Sewlarium is a bit of a drive for me, but I'm happy to support small businesses striving to serve their communities. This store is clean, well lighted, and surprisingly well-stocked for such a small footprint. I was able to find several yards of beautiful jersey material that I can't wait to make some shirts from. There is plenty of street parking in front of the business, and on the side street as well. If you're making a trek to visit this store from elsewhere in Portland like me, consider yourself in for a treat because there are some great restaurants and coffee shops in the area. I have gone a few times over the past year, and have felt the same dissatisfaction each time. With the scarce options in Gresham for games, I felt I should give them a couple chances. The video game selection is meek if that. With the most variety for new gen consoles XB S/X and PS5 (This would be fine if they didn't price things as badly). The sections for "retro" games are pitiful, with laughable selections. Any game you came in hoping to find, they've either priced it way too high in the glass case, or they don't have it. Serious price gouging overall, this can't be stated enough. It feels like a basement selection of games that nobody wants, or everyone already has. They even offer games that no longer have online services, rendering them useless to the buyer, at the same price as when these games released 5+ years ago. Do those games come with a warning before or after you buy them? At one point I was on the look out for an original Wii controller, when I called the store I got such vague answers. "We might have them" or a long sales pitch on their off branded Wii controllers sold in store (surprise! They are horrible quality and barely catch a read on the sensor bar) Surely they know the quality of these second market controllers they are selling/ promoting? Just a waste of money and time. The main attraction of this store seems to be the tabletop gaming. They have many events during the week, and I think that is helping with the overall traction of people going in and out of the place. It can't be their prices or selection! I truly think this place would be better off just pivoting to exclusively tabletop games, or AT LEAST take "retro" out of the name. Either way- if you're looking for retro games, don't waste your time here.

He wasn't filming anyone without consent, and he's always quick to stop recording if asked. His goal is simple: highlight unique local spots and give them well-deserved attention. What he does is free promotion--something especially valuable in today's economy. As someone who lives in Portland, I'd never even heard of your shop until his video. I was excited to check it out, but the way the filming was shut down--despite no signs posted and no harm being done--left a negative impression. That said, I want to be clear: I don't want to hurt your business. I want to support it. That's why I was disappointed. Gresham and Portland need more visibility and community support, and creators like Klearski help make that happen. He left feeling discouraged, and I believe this could've been handled differently--maybe even turned into a great opportunity. Your staff was kind, and there's no ill will. I just hope next time, the door stays open to creators who are genuinely trying to help businesses like yours thrive.

Definitely more land-oriented and is mainstream brand oriented (Traxxas, Axial, Spektrum, Horizon, Lectron, E-Flite, etc...), but is a good place to get parts when you need for those brands. Good for general hobby gear. Connectors, tools, couple/few TX and RX options for land and air. Don't expect to find most brands you'll find at online retailers that pedal in the cheaper/more generic Chinese goods. TGY, HK, Orange and whatnot. Owner can come off a little rude when you first meet him, but he means well and will get you taken care of and is a wealth of information. We're all just people and I'm sure there are some he rubs the wrong way at first meet (me, included, but no lie he's a great guy I've found over time!) and some that he clicks with.
