I however have to question the safety of the citizens because on March 1st of 2025 I was at the MARTZ bus terminal at around 4:30 in the morning waiting for a bus . The bus terminal was closed and there was no security around to protect someone waiting for the bus . Shortly after waiting a man approached me and attempted to physically assault me I however found myself getting out of that situation but he continued to hover and stalk. I called the Scranton PD and they responded within 5 minutes which was awesome . When I contacted the bus terminal Administration the following Wednesday I was told the reason why they kept the bus terminal close was to save money . They were very Unapologetic they were more concerned about saving money than my life . I have since contacted mayor's office waiting for a return call which I don't hold out very much hope because they've been back and forth with me on this . I wanted to get my story out on the media they won't touch it but if somebody got killed they'd be all over it . My advice is not to go to the bus terminal and wait for a bus because you are totally unprotected unless you're lucky enough to have the police nearby .

It's one of my favourite cities in the country, partly because my concerts here have been absolutely spectacular and partly because they have one of my favourite pizza places and hot dog places in the country. Maroni's for dirt cheap amazing slices, and Coney Island of Scranton for a White Hot with everything. Brilliantly original name right? Coney Island. Yeah because that's related to Scranton. Settle down Detroit. Also it's one of those beautiful old haunted towns that is stuck in the past which is very peculiar to this part of Pennsylvania. Scranton is probably the defining one for me even more than Harrisburg and Allentown because it just has more significance in my life. It's absolutely beautiful and very underrated, situated in a valley with massive hills which are basically mountains all around, and gorgeous views by day or night. Yes it is now sparsely-populated and old and Industrial but it also has a low cost of living and believe me this town is nothing like The Office television show. Now I want you in every one of my Offices. Or... not. Or something else? Or offices.

Ok I'm in, I'm Italian, homemade pasta is right up my alley. We sat down, friendly staff (young and distant), but an extremely strange setting. It was like walking into a Wayfair showroom with a pasta kitchen. The branding was a bit horrid in my opinion, but I work in that industry, so I couldn't get over the esthetic before I even got to the food. The TV "paintings" with random art were the "highlight" truly... I'm being too kind. The wedding table numbers, really were killing me in the worst way. This place was like a mishmash of identities with no real clarity of execution or strategy on how to accomplish what they're trying to be. A crash landing of ideas with no real destination. Now the food and drink! The plates were the size of a small luggage! For starters, the "fresh" bread they offered with a rancid tasting olive oil and the tiniest drop of balsamic vinegar was appalling. The calamari was decent at best... it tasted factory made, the coating was thick and it came with the tiniest portions of sauce. I want my calamari, piping hot, with a really thin coating and a ton of sauce, that's just me. The chicken cutlet was a flavorless flour-dredged slab of meat. Barely pounded out and coated in a thin breading, with no seasoning, and it was crazy big! The Gnocchi four cheese was like eating dough turds in glue. The texture was not good at all, and reminded me of undercooked packaged pasta, and weirdly overcooked all the same time... like the water wasn't boiling and they added the pasta in while it was cold. Gnocchi should be pillowy soft and should literally fall apart in the mouth and the cheese sauce should not be like hair gel stuck to the food. It's Italian food, it's supposed to be herbaceous and well seasoned, this was food for non-Italians, who think they could like Italian food if it was just a little more bland and assimilated... without all the immigrant culture, ya know?! The best portion of the dish was the non-alcoholic drink, which is saying a lot. I genuinely hate to leave a terrible impression, but I really hated this meal, and I'm shocked by the reviews. We sat down at our candle lit table and got complimentary water and our waitress sent over some bread and olive oil... the waitress with the bread, well wasn't the most social person. She gave us each a big piece of bread and some olive oil. We did request black pepper in the oil which I suggest. The bread was also cold which was strange. 6/10 For appetizers we got beef carpaccio and calamari. The beef carpaccio came out with a oniony creamy dip, arugula, onion, capers, and dill in the middle on top of the thin meat. Strangely it came with like 4 house made salt and vinegar potato chips. I honestly liked it so much and wanted more and I got it for dessert... 8.8/10. The calamari was perfectly cooked, not chewy at all, and also came with tentacles (my favorite). There was a yummy aïoli with a tang and some peppers. Just wish there was more... 7.9/10 For our entrees we got two filets, medium rare, one with Gorgonzola sauce and one with no sauce (the sauce comes on the side). We also got two bucatini dishes, one with and one without meat. The filets were perfectly cooked, usually every restaurant either overcooks or undercooks my steak but AV did it right. The Gorgonzola sauce was a rich cheesy sauce. The mashed potatoes were creamy and felt homemade. The carrots were alright, just sliced and cooked same with the green beans. 7.6/10 The bucatini was actually really good! So creamy and delicious, with a little spice. They both came with burrata (love), and the meat one came with a little amount of sausage pieces nothing recognizable. The spice wasn't unenjoyable and was tolerable to someone who can't handle spice. 8.6/10 Time for dessert, we got crème brûlée, the apple cake, and the sweet tart brown sugar lemon dessert. And some beef carpaccio because I wasn't feelin dessert. Crème brûlée, the top was perfectly crystallized. The inside was room temp, not cooled and not warm. 7.6/10 Apple cake, the cake came with a big ice cream scoop on top. Inside there was Apple slices like a pie. The cake was bread like and a good balance of the sweet ice cream and apple innards. 6.8/10 Sweet lemon brown sugar tart, this wasn't a favorite of the table but I didn't mind it. It was a cup like tart, with mouse or a cream in it. 5.7/10. Overall experience was pretty good, nothing bad stood out except for the cold bread and non social waitress interaction. The food was great, atmosphere was wow, and the outside was a beautiful walk to the car. She was not only incredibly kind and attentive, but she made us feel completely comfortable and cared for all night long. On top of that, Michelle and Diaz were just as amazing--checking in on us before we even had a chance to ask for anything. The level of teamwork and attentiveness was outstanding. Despite the restaurant being packed, we never waited for a thing. We honestly felt like VIPs--like we were the only table in the room. That kind of service is rare and so appreciated. And the cherry on top? We had the best seat in the house, right next to the piano player, Paul--and wow, can that man play!
