Great store, very friendly and helpful staff, kid friendly, and very nice selection of plants. Inventory was priced well.

I went to them in fall wanting a fast growing tree to put in my front yard. They didn't have much to choose from and I should have left then. But a sales lady showed me a magnolia tree where one side had been cut off. It looked strange, but I was assured it had only been damaged in transport and would fill out get new branches soon. They're the experts, so I bought it. A man, I assume was the owner, started yelling at the sales lady saying she left her walkie in the bathroom and he was trying to get ahold of her. She had other customers who wanted to buy more than a tree! He said this in front of me, like I didn't matter!! RUDE! By the end of spring one side of the tree still had no leaves or branches, the other side looked like a few branches had died. I called and they gave me the lady who sold me the tree. She said to cut the dead branches off and it would be fine. I did and a few weeks later more branches would snap off. I called again and was told I must have planted it too deep. I took photos for them, it was planted right, must be too much water, or not enough water, or the soil wasn't good enough. They wouldn't ever admit they sold me a sickly tree that they knew there was something wrong with it. Fast forward a few years, their news letter says if you have questions just ask. So I emailed asking questions about mulch, how to prevent weeds over winter and the best time to fertilize. Danny emailed back and said he would call. I have the Home & Garden's ID on my phone but never got a call from them. I called them a week later asking for Danny and said he was going to call me. A girl said he was with a customer, but she would give him the message and have him call me. It's now been two months since he said he would call and hasn't. So I think their communication is terrible, they don't seem to care if they sell their customers bad plants, a lot of their plants are cheaper at Home Depot or Lowes and they yell and humiliate their employees in front of customers like they should be grateful they even have jobs. No way could I ever recommended The Home & Garden center to anyone. read more

Large selection and water available to drink for customers. Workers are friendly and don't hover over you. Prices are about 30% more than Walmart or Lowe's but for special specific plants I think it's worth it. You can buy potters mix that is outstanding in bulk. If you're buying standard seasonal plants you'll find them cheaper elsewhere however if you're looking for special pieces or focal points this is paradise! read more

Excellent selection & service! At first I didn't realize that there were two sides to this business ... there is a landscape company that comes out & does the work as well as a garden center you can buy from. How awesome is that? The staff up front is eager to help & the cute stuff they sell is so trendy! The nursery staff go out of their way to make sure your questions are answered. I love that there are golf carts & bottled water for customers to use while they shop! read more

Lack of communication is below standard for this business. I called requesting someone come give me a bid for some drainage work. After a couple of weeks, Danny finally came and assessed the problem in my yard. After a few days, I received an email with the bid. I attempted numerous and I repeat numerous times to talk to Danny, wanting to proceed with the work. I was always given excuse after excuse. After over a month, he called me and told me he didn't do this kind of work any longer and he would send someone else out. He told me that person would honor his bid and for me to pay him directly. After another week or so, this man came out, looked at the problem and quoted me a price that was DOUBLE what I was originally told. He told me he would talk to Danny and get back with me the next day. Didn't happen. My husband called the store and talked to Brownie and she said they did not do that kind of work any longer and we would need to find someone else. Horrible, horrible communication. For the above reasons, I cannot leave give any rating other than one star. read more

This company promised to do a significant amount of work at my parents house. They showed up and performed substandard work. They had said the soil needed to be replaced. It was agreed to replace the soil and the plants. After a short time the plants died. As it turns out they did not replace the soil at all and now they refuse to make it right. Do yourself a favor. Go anywhere else. read more
