Went to Home Depot to order windows. Told the man ... I was getting new windows because I needed to keep the heat in/cold out. Not 1 time did he say btw our windows ARE NOT graded for this climate! They are graded for Kentucky & lower! The windows I replaced were btr than these! Shame on HD for not letting ppl know this. Especially Northern Michigan HD store! So, I went to Home Depot looking for a thickness planer, a table saw and a table mounted router. I had several questions, so I asked Tami if she could tell me the name of the store's expert on power tools. She said it was Mary, so I proceeded to power tools to wait. After several minutes and a very lengthy conversation with another customer, I was still waiting. I decided to ask Stephanie if she could page Mary to the power tools. Then I went back to wait some more. After several more minutes, I asked Mark if he could ALSO page Mary. This time, I looked at my watch. After fifteen minutes had passed, I decided that Home Depot in Alpena Michigan had gotten enough of my time. As I began to put back my merchandise, another customer asked for sales help in power tools. I told him not to waste his time, and that the store obviously makes enough money that they don't need mine. I began to regale him with my tale of waiting. That's when a blond sales associate (no name tag) interrupted me and asked very sarcastically if I needed help. I told her that I DID need help, several times, with several items. I told her that I had been prepared to spend $1,200-$1,500 that day, but that I'd be taking my business to the Home Depot in West Branch, Michigan. I also told her that the sales associates in West Branch actually greet customers at the door. She responded with a SUPER sarcastic tone, "Well, I'm sorry you feel that way!" I really wanted to tell her, "Look lady! It's not my fault that your co-workers are inept!" I spent 28 years in the Military and it disgusts me when I see Americans behave this way. read more

Dealt with Home Depot in Alpena since they opened. After terrible treatment last couple of years. Cut up cards & done with Home Depot. After ordering on internet, first 5.00 off bill if you give email. I did got 0, Next time order over 100 get 10.00 off order. ordered 200.00 delta faucet. Got 0 when I called them they said it takes 2 or 3 billing cycles , been over 2 yrs. When you call they say, go down to store, when I do, you must call on phone! JOKE read more

Home depot class for diy night stand. Tiffany was a great teacher. Jess was also very kind. Cookies and donuts, coffee and water were provided. First we made boxes that were Kleenex box holders and we stained and used brad nailer ourselves if we wanted. Handouts of project were given with a live demonstration. Great class!! read more

DO NOT PURCHASE EXTENDED WARRANTY (rip-off). I acquired a LG refrigerator with a 4 extended warranty. What a JOKE. I was informed by sales it would cover all problems etc. Well, I called to get a shelf which is cracked (1 yr left on warranty) They stated this was not covered, only mechanical parts compressor and such!!!! shelf NOT part of warranty!!!!!! The LG covers the exact same items for 7 YEARS, 2 more than HOME DEPOT warranty. WHAT A RIPOFF. I just threw away $99. read more

I ordered a new Ariens snowblower from this store. After waiting 6 weeks for it to show up in the store, I was given a refurbished one. After noticing that it could be refurbished I called the Ariens company to ask if a warranty would carry over to a refurbished machine and was told that Ariens would not warranty it. Therefore, I returned it to the store. I was met by the store manager who had an employee by his side when he asked what I wanted to do with it. I explained that I wanted my money back because I ordered and paid for a new machine and was given a refurbished unit with NO warranty. In a loud voice he said I was wrong, that Home Depot would not sell a unit without a warranty. He did give me my money back but, only after haggling me about it.
