Also they had a lot of fun and quirky items like foldable blankets for hiking (packed into a tiny sack) and sayings for your wall. It was a fun shop to browse and discover some new items. The smaller places have people that are friendlier and more knowledgeable than the big box stores. They let us bring our dog in there when we're doing errands and walking around downtown. There was one Valentine's Day celebration when the downtown merchants were giving out prizes to the kids, and Boyne City Hardware gave our dog a nicely wrapped mini-baggie of dog biscuits. Thanks, guys! A pleasant place to get the stuff you need anyway.

When I told here I needed water heater parts, she said she wasn't familiar with that but immediately called one of the shovelers to help me. I got all the parts I needed and the Asst. Mgr Evans was so helpful. Pointed me to a good meter and made sure I got the right parts and a universal water heater socket wrench. When I got back and tried to replace the heater probe I found it was bound in pretty tight and the universal wrench was too sloppy a fit. Called Gill-Roy's and talked to Evan; he verified it had a wrench that would work and when I got back to the store, it was on the counter waiting for me. If you want good service, quality parts and reasonable price, this is the place.
