Many years ago, I was watching a TV show called KITCHEN Cousins, and one of the cousins renovated an old fire house, which was originally their office into his private home with his new fiancé. They redid a bathroom and I fell in love with the tile they used in there so I always kept in the back of my head if I ever redid my house, I would like tile something like that, but when I looked it up. Whoa! Where he got the tile from imported tile from Italy, the price was way out of my range, but I found exactly what I needed here at Home Depot not only did I find all of the tiles that I needed. I was able to mix a match styles of the hardware accessories. Also including the toilet and shower. I ordered everything online and paid for it through PayPal and had it delivered, and I am still in love with the choices I made. Glad I was able to find affordable matches for high end designs. Here we go, So as I was on my way to Shoprite in Bayshore, had to make a stop at Home Depot. I saw they were advertising this vacuum cleaner I so needed . It was a Eureka ,which by the way I was told was a good vacuum cleaner. Of course when you walk into Home Depot there is always something else your going to pick up. I was shocked to see that the store was pretty empty of customers but a lot of workers were just standing around. So I proceeded to Aisle 7 were the vacuums were located. There was only one vacuum left, but it was up about 10 feet high on the shelf so I ask several employees to assist me by getting a ladder and getting the vacuum for me. BTW yes it was on sale for 50 dollars which was a great price . I stood in that Aisle for an entire hour waiting on someone to get this vacuum for me. Just ridiculous. I asked 5 employees to assist. It was so hot I couldn't even get mad. Finally this gentleman name James came over and help me get the vacuum down. I refused to let this go .I figured my time is valuable too. So I went to customer service and spoke with a young lady named Jessica. She was so nice, pleasant and understanding . I was able to get a discount price off the vacuum. Yippie. Now that's real customer service. Overall the fact that I had to wait any hour to be helped was not good especially when you have number of workers not doing anything. Every single time I go to this Home Depot, I end up with a nail in my car tire. Please do better to keep your parking lot clean and safe.

Home depot is my go to since it is close to home. Most of the workers are very helpful. I have ran into a few issues over the past few months when comparing the amount of inventory to the app/website. There have been a few times when there are a handful left on the app but no more in the store or the workers confirm there is inventory in the store but it is "lost" on the higher up shelves. Most of the time if this Home Depot doesn't have something, another nearby Home Depot most likely will. I like going here for the convenience and that they usually will have what I need. read more

As I was leaving some 350lb security guard with two wholes in his earlobes grabbed my shoulder scaring the hell out of me, he proceeds to say I'm not stupid let me check your bag. I comply and as I go to put my bag in my cart he pushes my chest (very lightly to be fair) he proceeds to say I'm not gonna yell and I'm not stupid, I hand home my receipt. He empty's my bad and repacks it as he continues to say I'm not stupid. I obviously didn't steal anything and he didn't even apologize I get doing your job and all but you have to be professional, 10/10 one of the weirdest encounters I ever had. read more

Being a supply house manager myself, I have certain expectations about how an experience should go as a retail customer. I felt unwelcome from the moment I stepped foot on the customer service line with Dan not only was he rude, but extremely unprofessional. I was then sent over to the paint section where I was greeted with yet another rude associate who wouldn't abide by the company return policy. I was thankfully helped by Gerry the store manager who kindly took back the return and confirmed that I was following store policy. Please do a better job training your associates. read more

Always visit either the Bayshore or Patchogue locations due to distance from work. I never go there looking to get a questioned answered, and usually know exactly what I need. There are a couple of times that I had to speak with customer service and they met my expectations. Both locations are clean and well organized. Sometimes under staffed, but the new self checkout where you are provided a hand scanner to check out makes it much simpler for larger items. I hated trying to scan a 2x4 on the self checkout line prior, as you needed to pick the piece up and try not to knock into everything around the register. Best tip for shopping here is using their mobile app. You can create shopping lists and it will tell you exactly what bay and aisle you can find you item. Makes it much easier instead of trying to find staff to then do that same thing you could have done on your phone. read more

My fiancé and I went to look for some things we needed for and idea we had. We were walking around sorta aimlessly ..in other words lost. That's when we heard the kind voice of Terry asking if we needed help ...sure enough he was not only the perfect person to talk to, but very sincere and knowledgeable about pretty much everything we had questions on. It was a pleasure having a professional opinion on our ideas to add to it. He walked us to the locations of each idea we explained we needed assistance with and gave us professional insight that ended up very helpful. All in all we left there with a better understanding of what we need and some things that will help our project. I just went there to get a key made an incurred a nightmarish experience. I asked an employee by the name of Elva, for assistance. She was totally incompetent and very unwelcoming. She said there was only one person, there who could make keys, and he was on break. I asked, how long will he be on break. She didn't know. I asked for the manager's name, and she told me Bruce. I asked, if she could call him to help. To attempt to make a long story short. I didn't get a key made, and I didn't speak to a manager. My suggestion is to ensure that good customer service gets checked off for each employee. Elva could use the training. read more

The Bay Shore Home Depot usually have good customer service especially in the gardening department, however I had a very disappointing experience today. I was there to purchase rolling blinds for my windows that needed to be cut. I went to the desk where 3 associates were sitting. The woman was in the middle of helping a customer and two gentlemen working on the computer. The man sitting in the middle seat whose name rhymes with "Devin" (or at least that's the name on the apron he was wearing), glance up and looked at me without any acknowledgment. He didn't say a word. No hi, hello, may I help you? I would have been okay if he said I'll be right with you since he was on the computer. He then got up and went to the back with the other gentlemen and returned about 2 minutes later. Once again no acknowledgement of my existence as if I was invisible. The the woman (who was clearly busy helping her customer) said something to "Devin" that I needed help. He tells her that he's busy doing something for flooring. Once again no acknowledgement, no sorry to keep you waiting from "Devin". He clearly had no interest in getting up on his chair to help me out. The woman at least apologized and I told her I'll wait by the blinds section. I waited for another 5 minutes and decided to leave because clearly they were not going to help me any time soon. His body language says it all. Without saying a word, I knew that I was not getting a good customer experience from "Devin". As someone that works and deals with people myself, first impressions make lasting impressions. Other than encounter, I usually like going to the store, as long as I know where to find the items that I need. read more

My review is for home depot in general. Although the staff here is very helpful and very sweet i will never spend another penny with this company again. We spent over $2500(we bougt a new house) in a week and when i tried to return $95 worth of merchandise for a store credit (i couldnt find 2 recipts) we were going to use right there and then I was denied. When I called the corporate office they told me they couldnt do anything and i would just have to take a loss. I will never shop here again. Lowes is way better any way. There are always people to ask questions to- patient people! I had a large construction project this spring- as a newly single mom it was pretty tough and yet this store and the amazing staff got me through. Dave and the pro desk was particularly helpful, and so were the ladies in customer service (Kim? can't remember her name!). I was also impacted by hurricane sandy on my vacation home on fire island, and this store was so incredibly supportive with the free shipping. At one point because it was convenient I went to a local rival. Could not find a single person to ask questions too. I left and went straight back to HD! Great store!! read more

This location has gotten worse over the years. Find an employee? They will go out of their way to tell you its not their department or simply run off never to be seen again. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! They, or whoever they source it out to, installed my granite counter top. They also installed the under mount sink. This was only a couple of years ago. My sink completely became detached from the granite.... COMPLETELY! My faucet as well. When I called thinking it was under warranty since when the granite was installed I was told I have a lifetime warranty, they told me that only covers stains and such. They then told me it will cost $250.00 JUST TO COME LOOK AT IT!!!!!!! I can send you a pic, free of charge idiots! SO needless to say I said NO WAY, and moved on to a REAL capable and much much cheaper handyman who repaired it for a fraction of what these thieves were asking!!!!!!!!!!! BE CAREFUL! read more

Thus far the worst Home Depot I've been ever. Cashier has absolutely no idea how to look up lumber without a tag when they had no problem doing it at other locations because obviously it's in a data base. To do it he looked it up on line as a customer would. After 35 min of that I went over to the lumber and simply took a picture of a bar code so they can scan it, on top of that they move as slow as possible. I had a horrible experience in regards to Home Depo and the delivery. I ordered a mini fridge online and it was delivered completely damaged. We had a very hard time returning the fridge because the order was placed online, and this Home Depo location was not able to refund or take the fridge back. I went through many frustrating calls to finally speak to someone who was able to provide direction on what to do with damaged fridge. I had to buy a new fridge in order or them to re-fund the broken one. I was hesitant because I did not want to buy a new fridge and receive another damaged fridge, but they ensured me this fridge would not be damaged. I revived my second fridge WITH MORE DAMAGE THAN THE FIRST ONE, it wasn't even able to stand up because it was so dented on the bottom. Home Depo was saying it wasn't their fault as they are not the ones that provide the delivery service, however unfortunately it still Home Depo's overall responsibility to ensure the companies they are contracted with are reasonably taking care of their products; because in the long run it is their name associated with the damaged product. Their website says they close at 10:00pm, Mon - Sat, and as I'm running to the front doors at 9:37, a woman behind the glass shouts "We're closed" as she locks the doors.
