I've had generally good experiences going to this Home Depot, buying a few things for my home. I bought a washer and dryer tower here last year and paid to have Home Depot install it. It was an ok experience. The salesman was great. Knowledgeable and friendly. The original install appointment got abruptly cancelled the day of. The original time was late afternoon so I think they just overbooked people. I had to call customer service in order to get a new appointment. I was annoyed to say the least. Everything went smoothly when the install technicians finally did come out days later. read more

Reserved a van to move my 75 year old father in law into a new apartment. Reserved it a few days in advance of moving day. One hour before the scheduled pick up time I got an email that they canceled the van, no vehicles were in stock. Checked surrounding area Home Depots and none had a van or small truck available. Yes online it said I could Reserve one, but when I tried to finalize it, it told me I had to do it over the phone with the store. The store didn't know about this and told me to reserve it online. Needless to say, we had to move his stuff in our car, broke his TV and a few other things in the process. Next time I'll get a vehicle from a car rental place or anywhere else but here. I had an issue with a broken water heater that was installed at 8:00 PM to find out it was cracked causing all the water to spill out. We had to take it apart and return for a new one before the store closed that night. Thank you to Sarah and Jackie who made the process seamless and doing the right thing and saving us some money. Horrible experience, went to get paint and no one was at the paint center. I went to ask if they could find someone for me and they did page someone to come to the paint center. I stood there for 20 minutes and in that time there were two gentleman in orange smocks standing chatting and laughing. Me an my family moved to a new apartment. We needed few keys duplicated, and what better place to visit than The Home Depot. I have visited the Chelsea location several times in the past for some tools and screws. I have always founded what I needed. This time I went straight to the key clerk. I had three different keys that I needed copy. For my big disappointment, they didn't carry one of the keys. And it isn't a special one. It is a normal key for an old apartment lock. I was surprised that the store didn't have that type of keys in stock. I had to look for a LockSmith store, which costed an inconvenience to me. I also shopped for picture hanging screws and nails. Those were easy to find. The store had decent variety and made my choice quick and easy. read more

Save your time and go to a different Home Depot (Everett or Somerville). Not sure who's running this circus, but none of the employees or managers know what they're doing. I purchased a washer & dryer from them, and both are sitting uninstalled in my living room for a month. I also got 11 custom blinds installed through this location and it was a frustrating and confusing process. All the third party installers laugh when I tell them that I'm working with the Home Depot-Chelsea location because they know everyone's a clown. You'll call them and 3 different employees/managers will tell you 3 completely different stories or things to do. Even if you go into the store itself, no one knows where anything is and they'll have you running around the store. It's truly a joke and a miracle that this location is in business read more

I shop every category and own multiple properties and am always frustrated at the level of ineptitude this particular Home Depot operates at.. Over the weekend my wife and I went to home depot in chelsea mass and had another bad experience. We used the self check out lines and I scanned the items we had in our cart.  As we go to leave, your "security" guy stops our carriage from going out.   He immediately stated "I saw your husband not scan some items" to my wife. We asked what he is talking about and he again stated "I saw him not scan stuff" and immediately starts taking items out of our carriage with my 2 yr old and 3 yr old sitting there.  Again, we asked what didn't we scan and he gives us a hard time cause my wife said we paid for everything.  He then, still without looking at our receipt, tells us to show him where on the receipt it says "ryobi" and we did. And then gave us a lame excuse "sorry it's been one of those days."  My problem was not that he stopped us, I understand he has a job, but the way in which he handled it.   He immediately told us we didn't scan items. He immediately took things out of our carriage.  He never once asked to see the receipt until my wife proved we paid for everything. This was our second problem with this store this month.  Something needs to be done there.  We spent over $200 that trip and to be accused of stealing and to have this guy just takes things out of our carriage that we paid for is just wrong.   It could have and should have been handled in a more professional way, especially in front of young children. read more

This is the Home Depot closest to my home and is the most convenient to go to. I am able to find what I need most times on my own, but when I do need assistance I get the attitude from most of the employees that I am bothering them. I have been working retail most of my career and have noticed that most of the employees in this store walk by the customers and do not acknowledge them. The employees are busy doing their assigned tasks and never look up to see the customer. Management in this store should really take a look at this; maybe they should contact the management at the Saugus Home Depot to find out what to do (I find the opposite , more positive employee and customer interaction at this store.) read more

Absolutely terrible customer service and management. Bought an air conditioner on the web site for in store pick up. The website said there was 1 in stock so I drove to go pick it up after placing my order. I get to the store and the guy went to go get it but lo and behold they don't have that item. They tried to tell me that this is typical for when it says 1 left in stock but I explained that I did indeed buy it online and that it should be there. I would in the very least expect an apology or a small discount for my troubles. They even told me that the unit I bought was from last year so there was no way they would have it! Are you serious? Why and how am I buying it online from your store then? And why is it listed as in stock available for in store pickup? They offered me an alternative product that I did not want. There was a reason why I scoured all the Home Depot stores and websites for this particular unit. The Custer service girl had no idea how to handle the situation and the manager would not come out to talk to me after she called him in his office twice. His attitude was basically "too bad. " All the employees were super distracted and nobody seemed to care. The entire experience was unprofessional and I will not be going to this Home Depot again. (I have had good experiences at other locations) Be sure to call beforehand or make sure than are plenty of units in stock before wasting your time driving to a Home Depot for pick up. read more

I cannot say enough about this location and its attention to detail. I ordered doors online and when I picked them up, they helped me get to the parking lot and they gave me a handwritten TY note. Even though I ordered a door installation work order for a job but didnt not hire them; though they could not schedule a time to visit due to my lack of availability, they did a follow up twice over the phone to make sure they looked after me and gave me back the correct amount. We just happened to stop in to the Revere Home Depot checking out prices for vanities and pedestal sinks. I have never had the level of customer service that I received at any Home Depot as we did here. We were there literally maybe 10 or 15 minutes browsing and there must have been five customer service associates walking around asking us if we needed help with anything. Never use the online order/pick up in store option. Total incompetence. I ordered some trim. It should take 10 minutes, but the website says up to 2 hours. Four hours later, I called the store. They said it would 2 days. I asked why it would take 2 days to get my 12 pieces of trim from an aisle and put them at the register. They said they would send someone to pick it out and I should come down and it would be ready. I drive twenty minutes down to the store, and as I'm pulling in, they call me and tell me they don't have it. So then I get to drive home empty-handed, and then I have to make a 15-minute call to cancel the order. All in all, half a day and an hour of bullshit for somebody to tell me, finally, that their website inventory is wrong. I hate the Home Depot. read more

This store is a joke. I thought I was on that old MTV show called "Boiling Point" I was getting a few plumbing items for a small project at my apartment. One of the items was some blue rubber hose that they sell by the foot, or yard or however much you need. I only need a little but decided to cut an extra 2 feet because I wanted to make sure the cashier had a code number to ring in. The guy at the register didnt believe that I got the hose from there. He was trying to tell me i brought the hose from somewhere else. Then he is telling me I should go back and find it again and show his associate. Why would anyone bring something in from another and try to pay for it? After I went and got him the whole box I stopped at the "customer service desk" and explained the situation to the manager on duty. she was nice enough to offer me 10% off the hose. Original cost of the hose $0.84, discount 8 cents. read more

This review is specifically for their COVID-19 protocol. I was SHOCKED and very annoyed. Went there on a Friday afternoon and while they required everyone wear masks there seemed to be no cap in how many people could be in at one time. It was pretty busy like a normal busy day. The aisles are narrow so it was impossible to social distance. Every corner I turned there was a person there. Every aisle was full. Of course some people weren't wearing their masks properly and the store wasn't enforcing it. SOME of the STAFF weren't wearing masks at all!! Also apparently couldn't buy anything online without a $45 minimum!! read more

I paid for a front and patio door back on 9/20/16. Original install date installed was 11/1. No one ever called to confirm or advise on the appointment time. So I took it upon myself to call the store to follow up. Andrew the associate who had handled my sale told me the installers would call me; they never did. On the day of, I called the installers only to speak with a woman named Renee who was very short with me on the phone. She alleged she had called my husband with the time frame; which I was able to confirm with my husband was false. Less than an hour after hanging up with the installer, I then received a call from Jasmir advising that the installer had been injured and would have to reschedule. I expressed understanding that things happen, but was not happy I had missed a day off unnecessarily and shared my concerns with the installers unprofessional tone. Jasmir stated I was not the first to express this concern. I was then called back by the installer and told that they would be out on Saturday 11/12/16; to install my 2 doors. On 11/12/16, the installer shows up to my home livid, stating that the store told him the items were already delivered to my home. I thought how could that be possible, when no one ever showed up for the original install. The installer then stated to me point blank, "I have been at the Chelsea Home Depot since 6:00 AM and they could not find your materials. I am going back to the store to find the materials. But want you to know the doors will not be installed today" I then called into the store and was told Jasmir was not in till Monday; a message would be left for her. I waited until 11:00 AM on Monday 11/14/16 to call Jasmir, since I had not received a call from her; in my message I requested a callback or I would come down on my lunch hour. I never received a callback from Jasmir. I went to the store where I was directed to the Pro Services desk. There I asked for Jasmir and waited there for nearly 40 minutes, only to be told she had left early for the day. I was offered her Manager Melinda. Melinda told me to meet her at the service desk. At the service desk I was greeted by a gentleman named Jorge. Jorge tried his best to assist me but once I explained the issue he agreed that, the manager was needed. While waiting Jorge did try to reach out to the installers and had no success. Please note I had now been on lunch for 2 1/2 hours just trying to talk to someone in the store. I called work and let them know I would not be back for the day; because I was hopeful this matter would be resolved. When Melinda came out she made it appear like my sale with Home Depot is complete and the issue is now the installer, which although they hire them they cannot control how they deal with installments. She then stated my option was to pay a 15% restock fee for the doors and cancel the order or she could see what she can do to work with the installer. I immediately advised Melinda, I did not feel the 15% restocking fee should be my concern as I have done nothing other than purchase a product and service. Yet everyone's response from Jasmir, to the installers and now her is as if I have some accountability in this mess. I also shared my concerns related to the installer with Melinda, who also acknowledge this was not the first time they heard that the installer staff person was unprofessional. I also expressed my frustration with Melinda on the lack of communication on what was going on with the process and how I had to keep chasing down the information on my own. Melinda gave me her card. Today's call was the installers could not come out until 12/10/16. I expressed this was unacceptable and asked for Store Manager. I was told he would follow up at 2:00 PM today. I will keep you guys update on the outcome. read more
