I chose Meghan Perlow from Poppy Floral to create arrangements for my wedding day on the 4th of July. The wedding was kind of casual and rustic, but I still wanted it to feel like a "wedding," so it was really important to me that the flowers have that simple yet elegant look. I also wanted to sort of play with the 4th of July color scheme without being overly patriotic. Plus, it was an outdoor wedding on a pretty hot day, so the flowers had to be able to withstand the elements. All these requirements, along with the fact that I don't really know anything about flowers, left me confused and without a "vision" of what I wanted. I was thrilled to find that Poppy Floral was able to take my abstract ideas and select flowers and arrangements that perfectly created the theme and environment I was looking for. The best part was my beautiful bouquet. Again, I feel I did a very vague job in describing what I wanted, but somehow Poppy Floral was able to design something completely perfect and specific to me. The boutonnieres turned out equally as lovely, especially since I was even more clueless as to what they should look like. And, when my husband realized last minute that he had forgotten his own boutonniere at home, Meghan somehow was able to create another, minutes before the ceremony, with some leftover flowers she had forethought to bring along. I can't imagine any other company putting as much care and effort into making my special day perfect. Poppy Floral created absolutely gorgeous floral arrangements for our July 2017 wedding. I had inquired with Meghan after getting quotes from two other Boston-area florists who had incredibly beautiful portfolios but also incredibly high prices. I felt a little defeated at the time and felt that sticking to a lower budget may mean losing out on the romantic garden wedding vibe that I had set my heart on. I left my first consultation with Meghan beaming - she gave me some tips for how to lower the cost without sacrificing my vision and really listened to exactly what I wanted for the big day. In between the consultation and event Meghan was very responsive to emails and answered every worried-bride question that came into my mind. About 1.5 months before the event she invited me to walk around the New England Flower Exchange with her to show her which flowers and colors I liked. It was so much fun to pull flowers together and start to see her ideas come to life. Meghan and her team provided our huppah and aisle décor, bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, wired flowers for our hair, centerpieces, garlands, and cake accents. They were all stunning! I cannot say enough good things about how wonderful it was to work with Meghan. I am not a huge 'flower person' and in planning my April wedding I knew I wanted something pretty, a bit more wild and/or unique, and nothing too expensive. Meghan was helpful from our first meeting and took the time to explain how we could get the most from our budget and also how she could help us to achieve the 'look' we were going for. Despite a bad batch of ranunculus at the flower market during the week of our wedding, Meghan assured me she would make sure the quality would not be compromised and that if more expensive flowers needed to be used to achieve our vision, she would absorb the extra expense. The bouquets and centerpieces were even better than our trial, and better than expected. Three days after my wedding, my bouquet is still making my apartment smell wonderful and I keep noticing more and more beautiful touches in the arrangement. She was incredible responsive and helpful on event day as well. She made sure to learn more about a special Persian wedding tradition (we had a Persian-American wedding ceremony) where a table displays many symbolic items and special flower arrangements during the ceremony. She helped us during set up, and was so patient as we decided the best way to display the flowers. Meghan is AMAZING! She really made my wedding day vision a reality! She listened to everything I said and incorporated it all! She was really great about emailing me back quickly and thoroughly. I highly recommend giving her freedom on the types of flowers, that's what I did and I could not be happier with the flower arrangements! The colors were bright and beautiful and I had compliments all night about how gorgeous my bouquet was. Meghan also took care of the candy bar and she not surprisingly did a phenomenal job! Our wedding was at a historic factory/museum and we wanted the candy bar to fit that theme. Meghan got vintage candy and displayed it beautifully, she also got a vintage gumball machine to fit into the factory theme- it was wonderful!
