We attempted to purchase and have a GE Profile dishwasher installed through the Home Depot Harbison location in Columbia, South Carolina, and the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. We ordered the dishwasher, paid for delivery, professional installation, and the required installation kit. Prior to delivery, we completed all preparation exactly as outlined on Home Depot's website. This was a replacement of an existing dishwasher, not a new install. The plumbing and electrical were already in place, and there are existing 2-inch holes through the cabinet to route the water and drain lines, which is standard. After unboxing the dishwasher and bringing it into our home, the installers told my wife they could not hook it up because the lines run through another cabinet. This makes no sense given that the old dishwasher was installed the same way. Anyone with basic installation experience knows you simply tape the old lines to the new ones and pull them through. My wife even asked if they could complete everything except pulling the lines through to the sink cabinet. They said yes and then left without completing the install. I then called Home Depot customer service and, after being transferred three times, finally reached a supervisor. Unfortunately, it felt like talking to someone reading from a script with no interest in resolving the issue. Since it was clear this was going nowhere, I told them to come pick up the dishwasher. I will purchase from a company that can actually perform the installation they sell. I am capable of installing it myself, but I don't have the time, and Home Depot only allows 48 hours for returns. This entire experience was a waste of time and money. Very disappointed, and I will not be purchasing appliances or services from Home Depot again. Around $900 for Dishwasher $200 for installation now someone else will get that sale. read more

This was an alright Home Depot, as the store was very clean, the one associate I interacted with was nice and helpful, and I got in and out pretty quickly. However, I personally think that Home Depot, in general, lags behind Lowe's in a number of key areas, mainly customer service and especially the garden center. Now, I am admittedly not a contractor or experienced in construction, but I think Lowe's does a better job at mastering the overall customer experience. read more

Your average Home deposit location with all the bells and whistles. Aisles of appliances and home fixes. The store was clean and the employees were plentiful. The sales were in abundance, came in to pick up some picture hangers and the signage led me straight to what I needed. For their to be so many helpful employees when it came time for checkout there were no cashiers open aside from Pro desk. The self checkout line was pretty long so it would have been nice to have cashiers available for those customers looking to get out with ease read more

I have had several negative experiences with Home Depot dealing with bait and switch pricing. First, they had a grill advertised online for a $200. I went to the store to buy it and it was $100 more. I showed them the price online and they told me they don't match their online prices (however they said they would match Lowe's online price). I wound up just ordering it online, doing store pickup, going eat dinner and coming back to the same store and picking it up an hour later. Ridiculous that that is how they do that. The second time I was purchasing an outside door for my home. They had it advertised on the website for $188, but it wouldn't let me order it. I went to the store and was told they weren't sure why it wouldn't let me order it online. They told me it wasn't an issue, but could special order it. When the did, they gave me a quote of over $500. How a sub $200 door added over $300 in price, just by going to the store, is beyond me read more

I went to Home Depot is search of an item that I had goggled before. Their app tool me that it was in stock and where it should have been. Upon searching the area it wasn't there. When asking for help, I came across Tasha. She stated that it could be an item that they kept at customer service , she called customer service ," they stated that they were sold out of the item." To my dismay I was disappointed. Tasha didn't seem to think that was correct. She stated to me if I didn't mind to follow her around a little to take a look in a couple of different places because she thought it could have been in a different location. I followed. She was right . Within a few minutes she discovered the item I wanted. Tasha went out of her way to find what I wanted. Outstanding . This is a review of their kitchen interior design, specifically in regards to countertops. My husband and I are building an island in our kitchen and want our island granite to match the rest of our granite counters. We went to Home Depot on Sunday night around 6 or 7 to pick out some backsplash tile and order the 3x5 granite slab we need for our island. The person who helped us (Connie) said it wasn't her department and didn't know how to order countertops, but said we should take home a sample to make sure that it matched. Okay, cool. We came in kinda late to a store in the Bible Belt, I get it. Not a problem. She said the interior designer Lisa would be there at 8am on Monday (Labor Day). My husband was going to order the slab online, but it's more of a hassle to order something like that online vs. in person. Plus we wanted to get his military discount. He went into Home Depot today without me and tried to order the slab. Umm... Apparently they don't let you order anything unless it's over $750?! I find that hard to believe. My husband said that the woman helping him today said she was new but she knew that no orders could be done under $750. It doesn't say that anywhere in the store or online. My experience for this visit was completely different from my previous visit. Based on this visit, I will assume that the terrible experience from my previous visit is not the norm. Do not purchase appliances from Home Depot. I've had the worst experience EVER! I went online and purchased a stove and fridge on 11/10/20. Both items were just placed on sale and both showed as in stock. I get a delivery date of 10 days. Two days before the scheduled delivery I get a phone call that says "sorry your delivery is now changed to 12/5/20. At this point I'm already upset. Fine ok we wait...Again two days before the scheduled delivery I happen to look online and now the date is 12/10/20. I didn't even get a call or email. Had I not looked online I wouldn't have known. Today 12/08/20 I get a message that says "sorry your delivery date is now 03/02/2021. Are you kidding me???? You're telling me that I'm going to have to wait 4 months to get my items and even then it's still a MAYBE?. I called Home Depot and Samsung the distributor. Samsung's answer was basically FU too bad. Home Depot's answer was well once we give the order to them it's out of our hands. Really? That's the experience and support you want your customers to have? Spending several thousand dollars and you say oh well sorry it's not our fault. Here's where it gets better. They told me , well we can find another product for you that's similar. If it costs more you're just going to have to pay for the difference. UHHH....bait and switch much? You put a product on sale that you don't even have....that also showed as in stock....then tell me well you can take your chances and wait 4 months....or pay more money to get something similar sooner. NEVER BUY FROM HOME DEPOT. They'll take your money and don't give a rat's backside how you're affected in the mean time. Anthony Collins showed me where my items were located, answered all my questions, explained the many options I had in case everything didn't fit in my car...it was the best customer service! Purchased a carpet install from this location, 3 weeks ago. The carpet was special order. When received they damaged it. Had to wait another week. Then the carpet was received and we were notified by HD that they had it and the installer would call us to schedule a new installation. They never called, after waiting another week, we decided to call them, the installation company said they are booked up for the next month and can not fit us in. . . My wife is due to have our child next month and we explained that this would not be a good time. The installation company proceeded to tell me that they would gather a skeleton crew and try to get it done on a Saturday. He also mentioned that the crew would be upset as they don't work weekends... All of this happened last week. Today, the Tuesday prior to the Saturday install that we were told would happen, we call to confirm and plan our weekend around this installation (Moving Furniture, putting pets up, keeping kids occupied). The installation company says we aren't scheduled. I call HD cooperate installation line, they tell me there is nothing they can do about 'my problem' and rudely transfer me to the local store. I speak to the Flooring Dept. Manager, he calls the installer and calls me back and gives me the same damn run around. They will call and let us know. Needless to say, this is the most unorganized installation I have ever been a part of, and WILL NOT, nor will I ever recommend or use HD Installation again. Fair Warning to All. read more

I love Home Depot, just not this one. The staff is totally uniformed. I inquired about tile here because it appeared to be on clearance. The staff assured me it wasn't, so I bought all the tile they had in stock. Well it was on clearance and now I have half of my kitchen tiled with no way of getting the same tile. My wife and I ordered composite decking from this store on a Monday due to them telling us it would be delierved to them in a couple days and then they would get it to us in one to 2 days. And while this MIGHT have happened had the decking been actually ordered. We waited until Friday and I had taken off 3 days from work and call and IT HAD NOT BEEN ORDERED!!!! and the employee that had allegedly helped us was on vacation. So now I have the old front porch OFF the house and no material to put down and 3 days off. But at least the manager I spoke to (Ashley) really could not have cared less....I will never darken the door of Home Depot ever again......and believe me I am used to going 3 times a week.
