This is by far the worst experience I've ever had in any store. Today is May 16, 2026 and I got there and I waited for over an hour and 11 minutes just to get a piece of wood cut.!! this is not a joke and the place is freaking dead. The man or the manager shall I say said the guy is loading up somebody's truck the problem is I was here before they were and after he loaded the truck which was 40 minutes ago he literally sat out there and talked the whole time after that and I have video and pictures of it and come to find out he was even done with them. So only one person in their cut Wood and only one person does the lift. I'm so confused. Literally, I can't express enough how bad I needed this table top and I'm leaving with nothing. Is this one of the stores closing? I hope so. The asset manager a few years ago had me arrested for suspected shoplifting. Funny thing now looking back was the girl at the self checkout rang everything up. The asset manager said they seen a large box under my armpit. Really?? When I asked to see the footage they said no. Then when the city cop put me in the car he said I was being arrested for having a bad attitude. I shit you not that's what he said. Oh no body cams. Big surprise. Ice thought about suing them many times. The DA 's office deferred prosecution indefinitely. Another big surprise. I'm a vet so not everyday is roses and rainbows but I am not a thief! Rented a Rug Dr from this store. Long story short, the thing malfunctioned spectacularly. We called to report this immediately and immediately took it back, just for my husband to be accused by 3 people of breaking it ourselves. Everyone was very rude, accusing us of all sorts, when we literally followed the instructions on the handle to a "T". So then they try it in store, it works for them (note, when they tried it in store, it didn't have any cleanser left in it to spew everywhere - which is what happened at our house when it DID have cleanser in it. And two, they tried it on a cement floor. Our problem was we were using it on rugs, and it sucked so powerfully that it was pulling our rugs into the machine itself and not gliding over our rugs.) So then, after it "works" for them in person, do we get an apology for their claims that WE broke it? NO. Are we reimbursed for the costly cleanser we used in it that's now wasted? NO. Were we at any point treated like loyal customers (we are) whose business they would like to keep after we're given a product that did not work correctly? NO. Be careful before you get your flooring installation done with The Home Depot Columbus Ga. My job was going to begin on a Monday and be finished on a Thursday. Well it started on Thursday and it was really bad done. Totally unprofessional. I had to hire a private flooring Co. to finish the job they never completed. Military Families Beware...Installation Nightmare, Unacceptable Customer Service... ***this is a review of Home Depot as a business and their customer service and their resolutions department. This review is not reflective of any experience I had with the physical store or employees at the store. I have learned this the hard (and costly) way. Never, ever again will I pay for (or allow) for Home Depot to arrange major appliance installation in my home. Doing so (1) nearly started a serious electrical fire in my home, (2) compromised any/all faith I have that Home Depot as an esteemed business, and (3) is costing me an estimated $320 to repair a 6-month-old major appliance due to negligence and improper installation. Installation that I paid for and was backed by Home Depot. Here's a timeline of what happened: - November 2020: purchased a Samsung washer and electric dryer from Home Depot - December 2020: had the appliances delivered to and installed in my home. All seemed fine, the appliances worked smoothly and there were no issues... - June 2021: The military is relocating my family so we had Samsung come out to properly disconnect the appliances from our home - Later that month: went to reinstall the appliances. my new home has a 4-prong outlet whereas my previous home had a 3-prong outlet for the electric dryer. "No big deal," I thought. So I went to the store and purchased a new power cord system. I remove the back panel of the dryer and begin to remove the screws of the terminal block. One of the screws was sheared off so I was unable to remove it. Annoying. I then had two choices. Either I could order an outlet adapter or splice the wires and re-wire things myself. I opted for the first choice. Even though I was confident in my ability to do the re-wiring, I figured if anything went wrong then I'd screw myself out of the warranty. I made the smart/responsible choice, so I thought. The outlet adapter shows up two days later. Thank God that I plugged the original power cord into the adapter before plugging the adapter cord into the wall. If not, that spark may have also caused a serious electrical fire in my new home. One week goes by as I wait for Samsung to send someone out to assess the issue. The tech looks and tells me this is an installation fault. He hands me the full report and tells me to call Home Depot with the findings. What this really meant is that a negligent installation team had damaged my $700 dryer on day one. The same day that my brand-new appliance was delivered to my home, it was also damaged beyond repair by the installer. He had basically jerry-rigged it to work in my previous home but once those wires were disconnected it would no longer work. According to the Samsung technician, the installer cracked the terminal block, stripped one of the connecting screws, and sheared the ground screw. That's why it arced when I tried using the adapter. Anyways, right after the Samsung technician left I called Home Depot. It took about 15-20 minutes of going through menu options before I could even be put on hold for a real person to talk to. The Home Depot representative decided to transfer me to Samsung, even though I had explained it was already deemed an installation error by Samsung. The bouncing back and forth began. Samsung transfers me back to Home Depot, Home Depot transfers me back to Samsung. Each time I have no choice but to start over from the beginning and explain the situation over and over again. I believe I spoke to a total of 7 different people over the course of a 3-hour continuous phone call. After 3 hours, customer service transfers me to the Resolutions Department. Then I am told that since it has been more than 30 days since delivery and since I have moved, they are not responsible for any of the damage costs. I was/am irate to say the very least. This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a "reputable" business. I am writing this review to caution anyone, especially Active Duty Servicemembers, their families, and any other people that have to move frequently. I know how it works: Home Depot contracts a big transportation and logistics company (e.g. J.B. Hunt) who then sub-contracts to a smaller transportation company to actually execute the install and delivery. These employees are not always knowledgeable about using an electric drill without destroying simple screws. Businesses have to cut costs somewhere. Sure, I get it. But if I buy a major appliance from Home Depot and they arrange for "professional" installation, then who is responsible when it goes wrong? Surely, it should not be the paying customer. read more

Please please please be aware that if you buy an appliance from this company and it turns out to be defective, after 48 hours they won't do anything to help replace or repair it. Company that delivered our dryer dented the side of it, but we couldn't see it because the dented side was up against a wall. It took around a week before we heard scraping noises and immediately stopped using it. The dent isn't covered under Samsungs warranty and Home Depot won't help either. Worst customer service I've experienced and not interested in using them again in the future. You guys suck. read more

-Conclusion- Avoid the equipment rental dept. -Problem- We rented a pressure washer which leaked and then failed to crank: I) We tried to call the dept. for assistance and kept getting phone tagged between the departments. II) When we finally returned it within the hour, we were accused of damaging the equipment. The manager(sic) of the department took an accusatory tone and displayed body language I consider disrespectful and uncalled for. -Extraneous Discussion on the Irrationality of Humans in Retail- I fail to understand the logic in blaming your customers. Surely any rational human being knows that in a competitive capitalistic environment that such an attitude is not a profit maximizing strategy. Ok, I usually am a fan of Home Depot, but not in the last several days. I have spent nearly 10k in the last couple of weeks on home improvement. In the beginning April 2023, I ordered a new door with two sidelights. The size I requested was 60" x 80", with a left-hand door swing. The order was supposed to come in at the beginning of June 2023, however, it arrived a week in a half early. Yeah! That was good. The manufacturer was Jeld Wen. I was pleased, until my contractor came to install the door. After removing my current front door, he opened the new, boxed door and was aghast. Why? because the measurements of the door were 64.25 x 81.75. But, clearly in the order form on the computer it said 60x80. I went to Home Depot to return the door and find out what went wrong. The person who helped me in Mill Works said I should have scrolled down to the bottom of the page, to dimensions, where it clearly said the door was 64.25 x 81.75. Well, my contractor viewed the door prior to my ordering and gave me the thumbs up. He saw the same thing I saw, 60x80. The Home Depot computer said 60x80. My printed receipt said 60x80. When I tried to explain this to the Mill Works person I was told, "but if you scroll further down to dimensions it says 64.25 x 81.75. But I ordered a door that was 60x80!!! Eventually, another Mill Works person helped me order a new door, which will take another 30 days to get here. In the meantime, my front door is two sheets of plywood. I can only hope Home Depot can accelerate my order, because, despite the unattractive appearance, which isn't my problem, I'm likely going to pay more for my air conditioning bill. Not very happy at this moment. I realize the problem is with Jeld Wen doors, but it was Home Depot's website that was improperly advertised. I would've given this a 1 star rating, but the second Mill Works person busted her behind to find me a door to fit the gaping hole that was my front door. read more

I USED to patronize the garden department at this Home Depot. On no less than four(4) occasions I tried to ask employees in the garden department a question. The answer was the same in all cases, "This isn't my department." Not ONE offered to find someone, call someone or even try to assist. Looks like employees wanting to kill time gravitate to the garden department because it's really huge and easy to hide out there. I dread going to this store - but I don't think I'll have that problem in the future... The last guy just turned his back on me and walked away when I asked him to find someone. My husband and I waited 45 minutes for someone to help us in appliances. They had one associate working and after he repeatedly asked for help over the PA system, my husband found a manager. Purchasing a washer and dryer turned into over 1.5 hour ordeal. I will never spend another dime in this store. Associates kept walking by us going on break; not one stopped to help the appliance associate. I am used to getting assist at home depot. I am new to the area and needed some black pipe fittings. I knew the size and types i needed. All i needed was someone to tell me which direction to go in. The gentleman i approached on arrival near the plumbing and kitchen area was visibly irritated i had disturbed him from his paperwork to ask about the pipes. The pipes are at a high level so that a shorter woman like me would struggle a little getting them down. Funny enough, he got off his bottom to help a man with plumbing issues and saw me struggling to move the incorrect pipes out of the way for the ones i needed. I bought a little over 150 worth, but found out lowes carries the same pipe and gives a military discount..i will use up the lowes pipe and fittings first and then return to home depot the leftovers. Who needs to patronize a store branch that does not appreciate ALL of its patrons. I had much better service at the phenix city store. read more

Anyone can tell a fake hello or hey versus a welcome greeting. Some of the workers arent aware of some of the products when you are clueless about something and want advice. Home Depot used to be pet friendly (on a leash). Drove out of my way to go to this Home Depot instead of Lowe's as I have a gift card... walked up with my puppy on a leash only to see the sign on the door stating no pets! Farm stores and hardware stores are USUALLY the perfect places to bring dogs to further socialize them while running errands. Guess my gift card can just live in my wallet because I'm going back to Lowe's. Even according to the Rover website as recently as a Sept 2019 article, it lists Home Depot as leashed pet friendly. On 12/26 I came into the HD to order double entry front doors. Tracy was very nice knowledgeable and helpful by taking the time to review the HD website so that I could show her the doors that I wanted to order. She then scheduled for contractor to come measure my door. The gentlemen that came out said he would provide a detailed report to HD and then I can go into the store and they can pull up the report and you can pick out the door.This is where my experience turns negative, on 12/29 I went to HD (to save time I had already went to the HD website selected the Columbus, GA location and picked the doors I wanted and printed out to take to the store). When I arrived Melissa was helping another DOOR/WINDOW customer and the other associate I believe his name was David was sitting behind the desk talking to contractors and another HD associate from another department on how to cut out a circle. I stood at the desk at least 5 minutes before anyone said anything to me when Melissa looked and asked me could she help me. I stated that I had my door measured a few days ago and I would like to order some doors (the report was in because I called the store on 12/28 and after being on hold approximately 10 minutes I had the misfortune to be transferred to Dave and he was not helpful or useful on the phone). Melissa than turned to David (who was still giving the contractors and associate from another department a carpentry lesson on how to cut a circle and had not acknowledged or spoke to me at all as I stood at the DOORS/WINDOWS desk to order a DOOR) and said she would like to order a door. David, continued to ignore me and continued to talk with the contractors and associate for at least another 10 minutes, even the customer that Melissa was helping seen how ridiculous this was and started telling the guy how to cut a circle. Finally after standing up there for 15 minutes I started walking around looking at the doors for about 10 minutes and went back to the desk. By this time David was the only one at the desk and there were no customers. I sat down and told him the measurements were completed and I would like to order my doors. He asked me for my telephone number to look up the report but when he pulled it up he didn't even read it. He then started fumbling around in the computer talking about are we building the door or are you ordering offline, I handed him the print out and I said this is the door I would like to order. He then started reading the print out I gave him asking me what size is this door? Are you going to order online, is this door pre-hung all these questions that he should be telling me the answer too. So he just kept talking about we have to build the door or you can go home and order it online because we don't deal with this vendor (although the door I picked was from the HD website). I said if I wanted to order it online I would have stayed at home and ordered online, I came to the store so that you as the HD specialist can review the measurement report that I paid $30.00 and tell me if the door I selected would fit and order the door. Instead he was telling me that he can't help me today (12/29) that I could not order and pay for the door because he has to contact Gary to see if there is anything else that needs to be ordered and if this door will fit, instead of looking at and reading the measurement report that was on file. I said this is ridiculous and asked to speak to a supervisor for which he pretended he was calling a supervisor "Brian, I got this lady here who wants to talk to supervisor about the internet" I said I am not her to talk about the internet I want to talk to someone about the process for ordering a front door and your attitude. Needless to say a supervisor never came over. I left the store and I still have not been able to order and pay for the $1600 front door that I would like installed. Also as David busy NOT taking care of me, an older Asian lady came up to the desk and he looked up and said how can I help you and she said she ordered her door a few weeks ago and she wanted to see if they were in. His response was if they were in I am sure they would have called you, what kind of door did you order, the lady responded a single door with two side lites, his response well they just don't have those doors laying around the warehouse it will probably be 3-4 weeks before it comes in, give it a few more days then I will check in the computer to see the status. The lady was in the store then, he should have checked the status of her order in the computer at that time (especially since he was not helping me ) instead of telling her to come back or call in a few days. As a layman you would think that the process would be the contractor comes out and measure the door provide the measurements and details to HD, the customer goes in and the associate will read the report and advise that the measurements of your door is 66x81.75 so you would need a door that measures 64x80; read more

Avoid this Columbus, Ga Home Depot! Awful management. I bought a $5,000 mower that was to be delivered on Saturday. I waited all day and it was not delivered and nobody notified me. Apparently it wasn't paletted correctly. I called and delivery was rescheduled for Monday. I was suppose to get a call 30 minutes prior to delivery and that did not happen. I waited all day and did not receive the mower. I did receive an email saying the mower had been delivered. It went to the wrong address apparently because I did NOT sign for it. According to the paperwork, I was to sign for it upon arrival as it was not an item that can just be dropped off. I contacted customer service and they said they would call me back. I called again and nothing and no help. Nobody ever contacted me. I have no mower and no solution from management. Tuesday morning I went in to cancel my order for a refund and they told me they will not refund my money of over $5,000 till they get the lawn mower from where they delivered it (wrong address) and that won't be till Saturday. I am financially liable for a lawn mower I never received, it has never been in my posession, I never signed for it and the manager never took a minute to call me with a solution. Went to this Home Depot while trying a DIY project at home. Got some paint, paint brushes, and sand paper. The man in the pain section was very friendly and helpful and that's the only reason I give them 2 stars rather than 1. Everyone else in the store acted like you were a moron for not knowing where the sand paper was... Then when checking out I asked a lady if they gave military discounts. She said yes and i showed her my ID. Then she told me that in order to use it I had to show her proof of this being me and wanted to see my debit card with my name. The delivery service is unreliable and unconcerned with customer satisfaction. A dishwasher was schedule to be delivered from 1-5p.m. on Saturday. I had a confirmation on Friday. At 4 p.m. Sat., I received a call stating that the dishwasher could not be delivered at the confirmed time. I could possible get it delivered Monday morning. Someone was supposed to call me back to confirm a Monday morning delivery. ..... I am still waiting for that call. Does Home Depot care that I arranged to be home for 4 hours Saturday afternoon? We have visited this Home Depot several times while re-painting our bedroom, two bathrooms and most of the trim in our house, as well as sanding and staining our patio furniture. I wish I could remember the guy in the paint department's name so I could praise him publicly for his great knowledge and attitude. He was so incredibly helpful, not just mixing our paint, but also helping us choose the correct type of paint, deciding how much we would need for each project and making sure we had the necessary tools for the job. At every visit the cashier would either ask if we needed a military discount, or happily check our IDs and give us the discount when we brought it up (some places just make it seem like it's such a hassle.) Overall, we have had nothing but good experiences. Employees are friendly and helpful and they always had what we needed for our home improvement projects. read more

Columbus, GA June 2018- Purchased (10) 40lb bags of concrete & lumber to repair driveway after rain flooding. Asked Chad to help my 75 year old husband load concrete into our trailer. Chad did not want to help, finally he picked up 1 bag of concrete and HANDED it to my husband to load into our trailer! Really? YES REALLY. My Husband told him "Never mind." Got home, called Home Depot, spoke with Mark, he said manager not there, gave Mark info and he said OK! Nothing else. I said I wanted the manager to know about this and for her to call me. She NEVER called, I am sure Mark never gave the information to the manager, or maybe he did and the manager just did not care either. PS We have never asked for help ever, I cannot believe that a BIG strapping boy like Chad could be so rude, and towards a senior citizen, someone who fought in the military for Chad to have the rights that he has! I am upset and in shock, I was accused of shoplifting. I was not having much luck finding what I needed but had a small $8 item in my cart. I went outside the garden area to get some hanging plants so my trip wouldn't be a total lose. I was instantly approached by 2 people as if they had been watching me for sometime, they walked me to the back of the store and ultimately banned me from all stores for 3 years. I had no idea the area outside the garden department was not a regular shopping area. I cried all the way home. My husband left work to speak to a manager on my behalf. I was working on a project for my mom and the service was fantastic. A man in plumbing named Nate was the most friendly, helpful person I could have asked for. Knowing little about hardware the staff was exceptional in assisting me. Checkout was a slightly long, but the man at the register was friendly.
