This is one of the better HDs I've been to in terms of customer service. Everyone I have engaged has been friendly, polite, and helpful. I recently purchased a John Deere lawn mower, and Tammy was very helpful in securing the floor model for me. When they couldn't deliver on the original date, they waived the fee which was greatly appreciated. When the mower was delivered, Rudy treated the 400 lb mower like it was his own, and even shared his experiences and advice as a fellow-John Deere owner. That was awesome!! Cheers! RS read more

Rented a truck, poor lady behind the counter was by herself and so very busy, but took good care of us. The $19.00 truck rental feels like a come on because you only have it for 75 minutes at that price then you get charge for another hour. Wow! Called the store at 7:50 to see if they were open. The asst manager answered the phone and told me 8. I explained that I had a plumbing emergency and was about 12 minutes out. He said, come on! I arrived at the store that was obviously closing and ran in. I was met in the idle by 2 guys that help me find the part. Went to the front to pay and was greeted by a cashier named Susan that was AMAZING! Did not feel rushed, as a matter of fact, they found out I was a vet and basically rolled out the red carpet. Used to shop at Ace because of the local side but realized that these folks are local and care. Way to go HD! read more

Yet again, the Dawsonville, GA Home Depot fails at customer service. If you know me, you know I'm generous to a fault. You know I'd never steal from the DIY store I spend so much time in. STILL, customer service came over AFTER my purchasr was complete - a purchase of two items - to "make sure I didn't have any issues." I have close to $20k on my HD card, I'm a home owner and I'm employeed as a Software Engineer. A position I've held for 30 years. The rep, seeing the purchase was complete, continued to view me and the cart trying to harrass me. I ultimately returned the item within 30 minutes based on the disgust I felt being treated like a common thief, then subjected to some sort of "we're just doing our best" kind of treatment. When I returned it, the CS person actes as if she didn't want to be there. Read comments... HD customer service is really bad. Just so disappointing to be treated like a criminal when I've spent so much money there. REALLY disappointed. Lowe's doesn't treat people that way. read more

I do not shop at Home Depot much since I can typically find anything I need for lesser cost through Amazon with free shipping. But there remain times that find a specific item in a local store is the best option. I have made multiple purchases at the Dawsonville Home Depot and always have found helpful, friendly store staff who have been able to help. I have had to return two items, one because it was defective and another because we chose a different model after I made the purchase. Both returns were handled promptly and efficiently with no issues. Service has been FIVE stars on every visit but due to the prices I have rated them FOUR stars, I looked at a heater today and after placing it in the cart I decided to check Amazon and found the same item with free shipping for much less. I will have to wait until Saturday to receive it but it is worth the price difference to wait. I honestly would prefer to support local business and employees but sometimes it just does not make sense. read more

I had a decent experience while shopping at this store. The problem came when the lady asked me if I wanted to save money by applying for a card, and even if turned down I would still get money back. Well I know I have pretty great credit now so in order to get the most money back I said yes to applying. This ordeal had us stuck in the store for another hour! I had to talk to these people on the phone and then they tried saying they had to call my phone for verification.. fine so we waited with my phone beside me.. no call.. then they said they couldn't call my line so I couldn't qualify! And then they hung up on me! Customer service isn't customer service anymore! They let anyone who is anything talk on a phone, no actual skills required. But because of everything I went through the person working there, Sara, was great and I ended up getting 50% off purchase!! She was great!!! read more

I purchased $5000 for a bathroom remodel in January 2023. on the first delivery of three the driver who was a contractor from J B Hunt ignored my instructions as to where he should turn around and tri to turn around i my front yard causing damage to the yard. it was reported to the store the next day. Home Depot turned the claim over to a third party to handle it but here it is July and nothing has been taken care of. now none of them including Home Depot are responding to me! I love this Home Depot and the employees are always so sweet here. We specifically use the tool rental department and the paint department the most, and these employees in these departments are outstandingly kind and even will put in the effort to remember you. A female (I think her name is Erica) in the paint department has graciously and patiently helped us a BILLION times; and the brothers in the tool rental department are very friendly and helpful. Is there no wonder big box stores are becoming obsolete? I drove a long way to only find that a product that was listed as in stock (online) at this store was sold out despite the fact the shelf contained cards to pick up said item. I could have saved time and gasoline if I'd just ordered the product from Amazon... which is what I plan to do now. The positive- the clerk was nice and professional. He was also embarrassed .... The clerk did apologize and said there was a slightly more expensive ($50 more) product that I could purchase. And then- when he went to pull the product- yep, you guessed it- sold out. read more

WELCOME TO SOUTHERN TENNESSEE! When I visit the stores in Dawsonville, I always feel as if I have entered another state. Those rich southern accents and that southern hospitality just shine. I picked the worst day to visit a Home Depot store, a rainy Saturday morning. The parking lot was full and the store was very busy yet, I had no problem getting assistance in the paint department. I did not have to go searching, it came to me which is always a nice. The employee was very helpful as he was a "seeker" not a "pointer". Pointers like to just point you in the general direction while the seeker will take you to the product and continue to assist you until you have no other questions. It is important to let the employee know the full scope of your project so that he/she can accurately advise and direct you. For example, if you are painting floors and not furniture or walls, that's important to know because you will need a special paint and a special primer. Even the color of the paint is important because if you are using darker paint, you will want to tint that primer gray. Once I described the project to him, he was able to provide helpful tips and assure me that I could get consistent results throughout by having the same color adapted for different areas. I find it easier to use the Sherwin Williams line because I have their color wheel and they have great information available. HD can easily replicate the SW colors you want. Check-out was a breeze because this area was well staffed with employees actually directing customers and moving things along. I really appreciated this and will definitely stop by again when I am in the area. ***Visiting stores outside of your primary area is always nice because you just may locate those hard to find items like super fine 400 grit sandpaper. I've had issues with this store since they opened. It got better around year three, but over time it's gone back. In Dawsonville there isn't a competitor and they have no problem pointing that out. Imagine that, an employee caring so little for its customer base. Everyday I have to work to earn every customers trust so I can work for them. Today was the final straw. I'll never step foot in that store. I'll either go out of my way to Dahlonega ( which is doubtful) or to Cumming where I'll go to Lowes because HD is packed and it takes to long. read more

500 employees standing around but but none willing to help you. Go to checkout and there's one register open with a line and 4 self-checkout lanes that only accept cards. Once again, a boat load of employees standing around but apparently can't open another register. The employees here, and the management, are just terrible. Open up more lanes and make the self-checkout lanes accept cash. read more

It's a Home Depot. They all look the same and have the same stuff. It's always hit or miss. Paint is great, Halloween and Christmas decoration are great too. Now looking for facets not so many in the store and they tell you to go online. Customer service is hit or miss too. Some people are great and others are gruff and obviously don't want to take time to explain something. There is a guy who looks like Wil Wheaton here and he always nice. Most of the time they also want you to do self check out. I prefer to be checked out since I'm in a full service store. I've notified Home Depot several time of when we have had bad customer service, but nothing happens. read more

The Home Depot website structure is AWFUL! Took me several attempts to create an account. On the SIGN ON page, if it does not recognize your email or password, there should be an option ON THAT PAGE to create an account. Lastly, several clicks later, elsewhere on their website, I am creating my account and then it says my email and phone number are already on file - yet it would not let me login in. So, if they have deactivated my information due to no shopping activity, then that really is STUPID. For large items, it is reasonable to think there could be years between purchases. Come on Home Depot, make your website easier to navigate AND faster too! read more

I bought a brand new Frigidare Dishwasher at Home Depot. I was having cabinets built so it took longer than 48 hours to install the Dishwasher. Came right out of the box and installed by contractor. The dishwasher did not work and kept backing up on to my new floor and under my new cabinets. Home Depot refused to replace it because of the 48 hour rule. Instead after numerous calls to Frigidare they sent a local guy out to fix it. He could not fix it. This is a brand new dishwasher right out of the box!!!!! He had to order the part it has been two weeks and I still have not been able to use the dishwasher as the parts are not in. I would never buy an appliance from them again. It would have been far easier for them to just send me a new dishwasher to replace this one. Do not buy appliances from them! If you bought the same dishwasher on Amazon or Wayfair they would have picked it up and delivered a new one for free immediately. Bad old policies. Still have no working dishwasher in my home. read more

I ordered materials for a job that were supposed to arrive on Friday March 12th. I had men starting on a job at 7 am Saturday. The stated delivery time for materials was from 6 am - 8 pm Friday..., as of 8 pm the materials were still not delivered. I called the online customer service where I ordered and they tried to help for over an hour. The Dawsonville store continuously hung up on both of us. Customer service finally told me I'd have to call back at 6 am to the store bc they had to deliver. I did. Then I was told the materials could not be delivered until 10 am bc no one was there... but I had men already on the way, on the clock at 7 am I would have to pay. I asked if they planned to cover their wages for being late and they said "no ma'am". Finally after telling them I was coming up to the store they agreed to deliver but wouldn't unload items. Another small female employee and myself (also a small female) and one guy on the job had to unload several 80 lb bags of sakrete and 4x4x8 posts. It was too much for me & I hurt the next day from it, but I had no choice unless I wanted to pay the crew additional money for lost time and unloading. After that I was still charged full price even though online agreed a compensation was due. The Dawsonville store was very ugly and said they didn't know how to refund the way I paid so I had the choice of coming to the store to get the delivery fee or I could wait 2-3 weeks. I have honestly never been this upset with a business in years. I will never return to this Home Depot again & I caution any of you that have time dependent jobs when it comes to timely delivery. As of today I still do not have my money returned as promised either. read more

Been a Home Depot customer since they opened there first store in Atlanta. Always had great service and if their was an issue they could get it right quickly. Went in this store on October 24 and ordered about $5,000 worth of appliances with installation for each The first installer for the garage door openers said he couldn't because they were the wrong size. A trip To Home Depot resulted in me ordering extensions on line and they wanted several hundred dollars to come back. I hired an independent installer and he said no problem and used my existing rails and I returned the extension to Home Depot. another trip. The dishwasher installer said he could not put it in due to a water line issue. So my son-in-law turned the main water off and did it Another trip to Home Depot The installer came and measured the surface unit and double oven box and left. Several weeks later I received an email saying I had to pay for the installation and the quote was good for the day before (I opened the Email on Saturday and the deadline was on Friday). Another trip to Home Depot. The department manager was very helpful and apologized for the issues, however I didn't have my Home Depot Credit card with me and had to charge it on my VISA. When the last installer came our to install double ovens and and surface unit, they asked where the appliances were and I said I thought you were bringing them. They left and I went to the store (Another Trip), the department manager was very nice and said they were suppose to be delivered on the 29th of October. Finally cancelled the order and have decided not to shop at any Home Depot again. They apparently don't have much if any coordination between divisions of delivery, installation and sales. read more

The Home Depot in Dawsonville, GA. Has the absolute worse customer service and the rudest cashiers I've ever had to deal with. They normally give Vets a discount, but when I went thru the check out the cashier looked at my ID card with a nasty look on her face and said they no longer do that. After talking with a manager (who couldn't care less) I proceeded to go to thier own site to leave a review. But low and behold they sent me a message saying they couldn't/wouldn't post unless I made changes. In other words they wanted to censor my review. Complete BS. Ok Several months later. I had to get a T-astorial for a double door. A part they didn't have in stock so they had to special order it. I don't use credit cards so the guy told me I had to buy a gift card to make the order. After getting the part. It was damaged during delivery and also the wrong one. So I went to return the part and they wouldn't give me my cash back. Said they have to put it on a store credit. I even had all the receipts. Ok next day went back found the right part to order... Guess what. Yep had to order again except this time the would allow me to use the store credit. Yep you can guess. I ended up telling them where to shove it. Now I avoid the store. I don't care if I have to pay double they will never get my business again. i purchased a $949 lg washer from home depot dawsonville with an extended service plan. it takes up to a month get the washer fixed, it has been broken twice so far. the service plan is not thru home depot, it is thru assurion, which has horrible service, i have spoke with 5 supervisors, 1 manager. the actual repair company, which is one man, is not held to any standards, i have filed 3 complaints for the repair co. this is not in the selling slogan for the extended service plan. so i finally call the store after we spent over $10000 at home depot in 2014, and no one will let me speak to the store manager. it is not "their protocol" to say the least, i will never shop at this store again ever. i will spend my $10000 at lowes from now on. read more

My husband and I purchased 1 heater for $130.00 from Home Depot in Dawsonville, ga right beside Wal mart. It was the worst experience of my life. There were workers standing all around through out the front of store near check outs, but not one of whom cared to stop talking amongst them selves ignoring the customers to be if any assistance. Could not find an employee to check and see if they had any more heaters in stock that had sold out besides display. I had to break up a conversation between 2 employees standing by checkout to ask for assistance. A male employee followed me back to heater section where my 2 yr old child and husband had been waiting..... When asked if he could check availability he tells us he knows nothing of this section actually works rental section leg him go find help............ 5-10 min later we get assistance they find 1 left in store and we're off. 4 days later our bank account is short. We investigate and see where Home Depot has charged us $268 for 2 Hester's when we only purchased 1. My husband first went to home depot w receipt and print out from bank showing the mistake. to his disbelief the manager acts as if ww were trying to be shady. He would not credit debit card back for 1 heater when receipt clearly showed only 1 heater was purchased and the account was charged for 2. We went to bank they disputed charge for us. It has been 2 weeks and we have yet to have our money credited back. Will not be back to this location in future due to lack of customer service, inventory not being stocked, and lack of professionalism all the way around...
