So, if you've recently purchased an IBM mainframe masquerading as a $3,000 Samsung "smart" refrigerator you're going to have to arm wrestle with the manufacturer if it malfunctions after two days. And the Big Box chieftains wonder why consumers hold them in such low esteem. The irony is that you can still get 30 days on that $15 hammer. Best bet remains buying from a local appliance store. I went to Home Depot today in the Garden section picked up 35 pounds of Pea pebble rocks each bag weigh 5 pounds five went to the register in the back in the gardening section and the young lady wasn't there so I asked another coworker. She comes back. I'm here wow well hello to you too. She slams the door to her little cubby that she's in. but she is very rude Customer Service. She should not be dealing with no customers or wait. Regarding my recent large appliance purchase, I have to give The Home Depot the lowest score. I purchases a dishwasher to replace one purchased at The Home Depot a few years before. The installers "installed" the dishwasher so it stuck out a few inches from my countertop and cabinets, and when I pointed this out to them, and that it clearly didn't fit the space, they marched out to their truck, and without a word, left. Do I need to tell you it was a NIGHTMARE getting the dishwasher picked up and refunded--WEEKS of work. Thanks for nothing, Home Depot. Pros: ample parking lot located centrally on route 9. Well stocked. Efficient layout. Clean. Friendly staff that are generally easy to find. Ample displays of products like ceiling fans, chandeliers, and decorative knobs. Custom drapes department is wonderful - wait for a sale. Financing available with credit card depending on amount of purchase. Cons: I've had issues with delivery in the past. Dates are usually inaccurate and staff lack knowledge of delivery options (ie you can pay extra to have something delivered within a specific time slot - not all staff know). It seems to be a combination of poor staff training and Home Depot delivery policy in general. Will absolutely continue to shop there, but will place orders with caution. read more

In Continuance of my review with the south Plainfield store, the manager there called the Edison store to see if they had the specific door I was looking for . The employee looking, I'm not sure if they even looked but kept us on hold for 20 plus minutes. At that point I already drove to Edison HD. Employee got back on the phone finally to say there were none in stock.. so I went inside to see if there was maybe another door I'd like and to my surprise they had 3 of the doors I was looking for right where they were suppose to be so the guy didn't even look!! I had a nice employee help me get the door and bring to the register. I then needed help getting it in my car and they sent the tiniest man to help.... I had to laugh and ask for someone else because he just could not do the job. read more

I'd like to review both Home Depot and 1 800 Heaters Of Edison, New Jersey as they both helped me in the diagnostic, removal and replacement of my previous Hot Water Heater. They also helped with the installation of my new Hot Water Heater. I want to help others as this sudden break down left my family and I in wonderment as no plumber contacted. wanted to service the situation. I'll walk interested persons through this process (that both Home Depot and 1800Heaters greatly simplified). My hot water heater of 8 years recently failed. I began contacting plumbers and was shocked that they didn't want to deal with the situation. 2 Days later our county experience a full power outage. This was an horrific time as my health medication must stay cooled. Despite all these set backs I was able to use an internet search engine with the wording "hot water heater installation". This is when the Home Depot web site appeared. In all honesty up till this point my family and I had no helpful information and/or no plan to resolve this "fallen issue". I clicked on the "Hot Water Heater" Home Depot internet link. I was immediately taken into an online questionaire. This was sheer brilliance. I was able to answer questions that would help Home Depot help me. I answered all the questions and selected the "submit" link. With in 20 minutes my phone rang. I was then talking to a Home Depot (Edison, NJ) Representative who told me what information she needed concerning the "downed" heater. I was able to obtain this information from the heater and she began informing me of all the how's, why's, costs and necessities for a successful replacement/installation. Once gain whoever came up this process is Brilliant! It Only Gets Better Now! Enter The 1 800 Heaters (Edison, NJ) Repair Man! On the day of the appointment I received a phone call to confirm the appointment. Very Professional. The Repair Man arrived on time. He began evaluating everything and advising me on what to do. He then advised the correct Hot Water Heater from my home (explaining all the reasons why: such as wire gauge size and the correct fuse ampage for the new heater). During his two visits he also gave great advise on clean up materials. Following his advisories I was able to provide him with better lighting during his second visit. The second visit began again with the morning confirmation call. The Repair Man returned again and did a Great Job Of Installation And Clean Up. Everything was always Up Front with both Home Depot and 1 800 Heaters (Edison, NJ) with no surprises. Also all paper work was emailed to my email address with in 20 minutes of this replacement/installation. My family and I have always been praying people and are glad everything worked out. I would strongly advise anyone to utilize these 2 business for such needs. The Efficiency & Professionalism Was Impeccable! read more

He went above and beyond service to finding the item we needed. This gentleman even held that item for us till we got there. I hope management keeps up with these postings. Was able to find everything we needed over the course of several trips, which is needed with a fixer upper home that requires a lot of maintenance and TLC. Will be coming back. My husband loves to do a search online to see if things are in stock and what Bay they're located in, so we can shop faster. So far, his methods have worked -- he has always gotten everything off his list (light bulbs, plumbing supplies, protective and cleaning gear/supplies, toilets, etc), and he can move around quickly. For the most part, things are properly located and their online information accurate. Sometimes they aren't updated or the stocking is a little messy. When we recently got a couple new toilets, there weren't as many in stock as was listed online, and they were not listed under the proper price tag. Minor stuff, but I think this can be pretty common as no store is perfect. If you need anything, you can always just ask. Workers ask if you need help, cashiers are friendly and quick. Occasionally, I've gotten a less friendly cashier, but not mean or outright rude. read more

What a joke. We bought a new fridge and it was scheduled to be delivered a week later. The delivery men refused to take away the old fridge (which we paid for) and install the new fridge for a bullshit reason and abruptly left without explanation or recourse. I usually go to the S. Plainfield Home Depot where I know nearly all the dayside crew. Once in a while, I will go to the one on RT. 1 because Its right off 287 and I can get right back on. A few times Ive noticed the self check out "watchers" being a bit overzealous. Today, July 27,2022 I encountered Marco..or Marcos. EIther way, im done ringing up my items, and Im just about to press the "Print" option for my receipt. As soon as my finger nears the screen, a big, over anxious kid Marcos jumps out from between the racks that seperate the two check out areas. He yells out ,"BYE!!!!" I look up at him and say, "What?" He replies, "Are you hard of hearing? I said, BYE!!" Now Im just lost...Where did you come from? There was a female here at first...she stepped off to assist another associate not far from this area. So I dont want to assume I was being watched by Marco the entire time, but...If it walks and quacks like a duck...then........oh well. So I ask the lady there was the kid ok...(as in is he OK like, special needs or anything.) I have a sibling who is, so I know how to engage. Turns out he wasnt autistic or anything according to her. HE was just doing his job by crossing from HIS side of the self check out...WAY over to HER side just to yell out "BYE!" to me. Mind you, I know the protocol for a lot of the businesses is, "Say hello and good bye to let them know, "Hey we see you, and we are paying attention." I know this. For him to come way over to the area where I was just to say that, really pissed me off a lot. I feel watched EVERY time I go into this branch by these self check out security people. Once I bought a garbage can and lid along with nearly 400.00 worth of other items. Finally I waved and asked - how much longer until I can get down the aisle to look at lights? He said about another 30 mins. I guess the customer doesn't really matter. Called in the morning day of delivery and confirm that order will be delivered between 9 and 1:30. Wait around all day finally call and they tell me order was cancelled on Saturday. No reason given. Purchased a washer, dryer & dishwasher last week; due for delivery & installation 2 days before Thanksgiving 2016.... Installers showed up and said because the floor under the dishwasher wasn't flush, they couldn't install it, even though the dishwasher would come out with no problem whatsoever!! The installation guy called his supervisor, they got back in the truck & left with All 3 appliances in their truck!!! There was no problem with the washer & dryer being installed, except I think they didn't want to relive & replace them because the laundry room is on the second floor!!! This place is tops as far as Home Depot stores go. I find what I'm looking for most of the time and I shop in every single department from flooring to electrical to building to plumbing. When I don't find what I'm looking for - they order it, and it ships free to the store (which saves a ton of money on big items). I also like the fact that they don't hassle you over return items. That's great for projects because you can buy whatever you might need and return the unused stuff when you're finished. read more

This store is constantly running out of stock of essential building materials. Never assume you can just stop in and grab what you need, even if it's as basic as some 1x2s or some 1/2" copper elbows. Countless times I ran in to grab a basic building material you would rely upon them to have, only to find out they are out of stock (even if their system is showing they have some). They need to do a better job of inventoring their stock, as well as making sure various plumbing parts are not all mixed up, and clearing out all the crap from the lumber department so you don't need to sort through a pile of crappy 2x4s they neatly stacked back on top of the pile (for you to have to dig through to get something decent). read more

It's home depot. It's huge and has everything. I especially like the guys at the paint counter- they were very helpful and saw us coming back many times covered in paint when we got out place and were interested in updates. The rental equipment was very easy, and the finishing nail gun we rented came with nails pre-loaded. The return policy is very easy, and they have a place to bring in your dead CFL bulbs. I only have 2 gripes. The large appliance section is kinda small. Then again, this is not a large appliance store per se. I went to See-More Appliance, and even though their showroom is small they were able to order what I wanted. My -1 star rating really comes from the door department. We sat with the guy for probably an hour to order the proper sized bi-folding closet doors only to receive doors considerably smaller than what we ordered. We made it work because we needed doors, but these guys should not be your go to for doors. read more

This Home Depot doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some of the larger and fancier locations (i.e. the one near the Vauxhall area), but they have all the basics you'd ever need in stock! i have been going to home depot since they arrived in nj. I go to the edison route one store due to the closeness to my home (9min). I usually participate in their survey on line gotten from the sales receipt and have noted that this store runs hot / cold with customer service and customer ability to locate items. However, of late (last 2 yrs) this store has made improvement espec in these 2 areas: i couldnt get better help from their rep in plumbing nor flooring. Very knowledged and easy to understand. Most reps go out of their way to assist with location of items. the service desk was very cooperative with problems. Maybe Headquarters for HD has been listening after to what the customers had to say? read more

This home depot is my go to hardware store. Like any home depot, it has a huge selection of items. But the thing that makes this one different is the staff. I often go to a hardware store with a lot of questions (not sure exactly what size screw I need, not sure exactly how to solve a weird problem, not sure what kind of lightbulb some strange antique lamp takes). I've had bad luck at other hardware stores with staff not willing to help or just not knowing anything about how to help. This home depot's staff is outstanding. They've enthusiastically and knowledgeably helped me with every question I've come to them with. They've spent some serious time helping me think through and solve home improvement problems. I'm not going to lie I was in a bit of a rush when I went into the store. I was determined to get one thing and I thought I knew exactly where it was. When I started to look for my item I realized it was not were I assumed it would be. Frankly I was a little upset that I couldn't find anyone around to help me look. I was close to giving up and just going home but this wonderful staff member appeared out of know where and I guess from the look on my face, realized I was in need of help. She turned what I thought was a quick one item shop to a whole ordeal of things I would have never thought to get. Her knowledge of the store and where everything was and which Discounts were in place was truly a breath of fresh air compared to many stores I've been to where the staff knows close to nun about there own store. She was really a life saver that day and definitely took the time to make sure any questions I needed were answered and even made sure someone helped me with my belongings to the car. Yes I spent a little more time than I needed to in the store, but marisel made the experience so easy it was definitely worth!
