This Home deport is kinda small. Hubby & I only use this Home Depot for some building materials/lumber, but mostly lawn care & tools. At one point they were getting in the beautiful Blue pine V board that I love so much, but it goes quickly. So I asked if they can order it for me and they can order it, when it's available. Well, turns out, it's not available that often so I only got enough to do one small guest room in Cottage #1 The other thing that is super annoying about this HD is they don't have a tool rental department. If you want to rent a piece of speciality equipment you have to go to Sherman for that. So that is where we go mostly. We go to Sherman. Their Home Depot is better & has a equipment rental. We only use this small location for little things and lawn care/nursery. read more

I have had a very bad experience with window installation for Anderson series 100 windows by Home Depot. I ordered my windows in March 2025. They came to measure. I was told they would be installed in June 2025. Come July I called them to ask where my windows were and learned that the windows were not ordered. I paid for the windows and installation in March 2025. They called in October 2025 and scheduled installation. They did not send all the parts so they couldn't install the front window. When they brought the windows one double on the front was not the right size. The window in the back had the wrong grid pattern and another back window was not built correctly. It was a 50/50 window and was supposed to be a 9 over 6. Another 3 month wait. They brought new glass for the back window and installed the other back window. This time the grid pattern did not match on the back window and the front window did not fit again. Another 3 month wait. They brought new glass for the back window and finally that was right. when they went to install the front window it did not fit again. Another 3 month wait. They brought the new front window again and it did not fit. Another 3 month wait. We are into March 2026 now (1 year later) and the job is not completed. They brought the rebuilt front window again the first week of June 2026 and it did not fit again. Each time the window was remeasured by the installation crew. It will soon be a year and a half after I paid for the windows and I still don't have the largest window in the front of the house. I called the rep the day the installers were here and he has yet to return my call. I am not sure Home Depot is able to complete the job at this point. If someone from corporate reads this I would appreciate you contacting me and tell me what to do. I just want my windows that I paid for over a year ago. I am a patient person but this is a nightmare. read more

If you have had the pleasure of meeting the manager, you will understand the horrible service. I have had employees apologize for his attitude while talking to me. Tonight I waited close to 25 minutes to exchange two propane bottles, after having gone in to get someone then another 10 minutes. I just got a refund. Plenty of other places to get it and if I go to Sherman I have both Home Depot and Lowe's. It's 20 minutes to Gainesville or Sherman, I Will go where someone wants my business read more

We bought a GE washer in JULY and in less than 6 months it went out. The service department could not get to us for a solid month! Still under warranty we waited when we got our confirmation for our service the window is from 8:00 am to 5:00pm! Seriously?!? Who does that? We lose a whole day of work to stay home and wait for service of a product that should have NEVER gone out in the first place! #homedepotsucks Update: our service didn't get done until 6:45pm!!!! On most days, if you go in the west entrance to grab some paint or anything in the tile department or the pest control area, you will be forced to check out all the way at the other end of the building because they will not open the check out That is right inside the west entry. Such an easy fix but they won't do it most days. So it's best to just park at the east end of the building even if you are going to the far west side to shop. Put your walking shoes on! read more

The guys in the garden center did an amazing job loading my materials on my trucks. Bought about 5k lbs worth of materials and these guys spent 30 minutes making sure it was packed and road ready before I left. Would definitely be back for any further landscaping needs. read more

I purchased a Rheem propane gas water heater from Home Depot in Gainesville Texas in November 2021. I transported the heater to my home hauled it up the stairs to the attic and installed it only to find that it was in fact a USED hot water heater. I called Rheem who said it had been manufactured 18 months earlier and that I had to seek satisfaction from the seller. It was rusted , there were parts missing and it did not work. I also noticed in the box, a pink ribbon, which I discovered later meant that it was a returned item. I called the store to complain but received no assistance whatsoever. My only recourse was to uninstall the heater after emptying it of water, haul it back down the stairs, transport it 30 miles to the store. At the store there was, once again, no assistance ( the heater weighed 120 lbs and I am 67). I carried it into the store and underwent the laborious return rigmarole, noticing with sardonic humor the addition of a pink ribbon! No one brought the replacement heater to me, I had to find it and haul it unassisted to my truck, drive 30 miles, haul it up the stairs into the attic and install it. I have spent over $100,000 at this store over the years and cannot believe their complete disregard for me as their customer nor their casual dismissal of the fact that they had sold me a used, known-to-be-defective item. read more

It was 4:00 pm Sunday and we stopped in for a couple of items. Lots of employees and few customers. We got one item and headed to checkout but only Customer Service was operating --- with a line of people, 10 deep ... so I headed to the Loading Area, with fewer people and plenty of employees --- most just clocking time and ONLY those darn Self Serve Check-outs working. I get flustered trying to to use those things. This is too typical- a dozen cash registers, just waiting and no one willing to get one one to help and no one could get on the mic and call for a cashier. I wonder how they stay in business and if I will be back? read more

This is the worst Home Depot ever. I have talked to Manager several times about 20 employees standing about drinking their 42 ounce drinks, checking their phones and talking to each other, all while never having the time to ask a customer if they need help. I just moved here a few months ago and was told by the locals that this store was the pits and it is worth the drive to go to Sherman or Denton since the service is so bad in Gainesville. Today I had to wait in line for over 15 mins at the customer service return section all while some little Blonde Manager, I think Renee, was standing around watching the line grow while four other employees were at the desk on the phone, on the computer and talking to each other. What an arm pit of a store, unprofessional, lazy and entitled employees. Management is either too incompetent or too scared to fire anyone. In the past several months I have been in that store no less than 50 times, perhaps twice I was asked if I could be helped and other times when I was able to track down an employee, I would normally get a point and possible aisle number where I could go look for my item. The big problem is this Home Depot is it is the only game in town, there is no Lowe's or other competition so this business is run with an attitude of we are the only game in town so take it or leave it. Very sad to see just a good business run in such a unprofessional and lazy manner. When I asked for the Store Manager and District Manager contact info, I was given the store phone number where it goes through 14 options, NONE of which gives me the option to leave a message for the Store Manager. Guess he is too busy or too important to have his number given out since I am sure his complaint list would be a full time job. I really hope more people complain about this place to force Cooperate to fix it. It is nothing but a hassle and negative experience every time you go into that place. I get pretty much everything I need for around-the-house projects from here. For a brick and mortar store they have very competitive prices and knowledgeable staff to help with DIY ideas and advice. My only complaint is that they do not seem to be able to staff enough people. Since it is one of the only one-stop home improvement shops in town, it is always busy from the moment they open the doors till they close up at night, so cashier lines can be long. With that said the employees are all very nice and helpful, and patient to boot. They have really helped me to finish many home projects. This is probably why I spend so much time there. read more

Yet again what a disappointment. They will offer dependents of service members a discount, but not a veteran who presents their Texas issued driver's license with the words VETERAN printed on it. Dependents don't go on aircraft carriers for 6 month deployments. Dependents don't live in a coffin rack for 6 months. Dependents don't put boots on and march for several months during boot camp. They also have not tasted chow hall food. So I mean come on now. I HAVE NEVER EVER, EVER had an issue getting the discount at Home Depot using my Texas state issued driver's license with the words Veteran printed on it in Denton, nor in Lewisville. You have to bring in a valid DD Form 214, which by the way, DEPENDENTS will never earn. The dd form must have honorable discharge code on it before Texas DPS and the state of Texas will put it on there. The state of Texas realizes there is no difference between active, retired or Veteran. They all served. Some make it only 4 yrs. some 10 and some 20. No matter the time in service, we all served our country and deserve to be honored equally. Do I need to mention once again, DEPENDENTS, never served. Very disappointed. I only went to this Home Depot because I went up to help a family member move and was grabbing somethings on my way home. I will stick to Home Depot in Denton in the future. read more

If you know exactly what you want and where it is, they might just have it. I went in several times to look at counter top material samples. Only once, early in the morning, was one of their dedicated kitchen people there. I waited a long time while he ordered a long list of things for a contractor. While waiting, I looked at what was out. I found one that I thought might work, but specifically wanted to see samples that were green of had green in them. When it was finally my turn, he looked at the things he had behind his desk. I wanted to see one Corian color the most. He had no sample of anything they have other than beiges, grays, and neutrals. I asked about other solid surface brands and he seemed lost. I finally just went with the sample I found before I talked to him, but got it through the man who installed it. Luckily, I'm very happy with it. I've probably spent $30,000 in that store in the last three years. I kind of feel like I should be getting better service when I go in. Yes, there are a few folks that know what they're doing and are willing to help, and I appreciate them. The kitchen department is the worst department. I'm just about finished with a total. Down to the studs, remodel, and they've missed out on a lot of my business. read more
