The owners may want to review the performance of the current receptionist. I recently called to ask about the plant inventory due to my busy schedule. I was polite in my request, and if providing that information wasn't possible, I would have appreciated being directed to the website instead. Unfortunately, the receptionist's responses came across as passive-aggressive, which made the interaction unnecessarily unpleasant. Providing helpful and courteous customer service is important, and this experience did not meet that expectation. I have been gardening in Texas for 39 years and I have never, before today, come across a nursery as beautiful as this one is. 55 acres of row after row of every conceivable tree, bush, plant, all luscious and vibrant. The service was impeccable with Ivan running me around on a golf caft to see every tree of my desire. He got seven trees inside my SUV + two flats of Asian jasmine. Packed to the gills I headed back to Dallas to unload and plan how soon I could go back. The prices on what I bought were more than reasonable. This is THE PLACE TO GO. read more

Overall, the quality of the tree looks great. However, my experience with Treeland was quite disappointing. I needed this small tree to replace one that fell during a storm. The original tree was planted when my house was built in 2020 with no issues near utility lines. The issue arose when the crew said they couldn't remove the root ball because it was too close to said utility lines... The workers called the office for guidance, and that's when things went downhill. The office representative, Bridget I believe was her name, informed me of the issue, but when I started asking for more information and possible solutions, she became defensive and said, "I am not going to be arguing about this with you, sir!". I am no expert at tree planting but I found this response incredibly frustrating and the tone unnecessary. There was a language barrier between the workers and me, which led to some back-and-forth. I was genuinely trying to understand why the service couldn't be performed. Instead of helping, Bridget made a dismissive comment that I should "do it myself if I want it done." This level of customer service was shocking and disappointing. In the end, I needed the tree and didn't want to hold up the workers, who were very kind and professional--this is why I didn't give a one-star review. I agreed to have the tree planted in a different spot suggested by the workers, but now I have to deal with the stump removal on my own. This experience has been frustrating, and I didnt know what to expect from Treeland but after reading other reviews this is a common pattern. I inspected the tree root ball (I planted it - and it was not root-bound, also as promised. I expect to have no issues. However, and Treeland states this in advance, there is NO WARRANTY unless Treeland plants it for you and ONLY at a primary residence. Just my opinion, but I think a limited warranty and perhaps for a small fee should be offered; especially for those of us who are professionally licensed (as I am in multiple disciplines including Engineering, Building and Landscaping. What a great place to go for a lazy Saturday drive in the country. They have acres and acres of trees to choose from; and while you can walk the neatly lined rows of trees, why not hop into one of their free-to-use golf carts and cruise around their massive selection. Orientation is on the porch of the house. People will come out and greet you, give you a clipboard and a rundown of the operation. They will answer any questions you have about trees and plants that you need answering. The trees are all very well labeled. You know the name, size and price. If there is an orange ribbon around the trunk, someone has already claimed it. Pink ribbons on the trunk indicate a clearance or markdown in price for perhaps an irregularity like a bow in the trunk. Price includes the cost of the tree, delivery and installation at your home, and a 1-year guarantee. After visiting a few local nurseries, it was apparent that this location was heads and tails above the rest in both price and selection. read more

We are extremely satisfied with the quality and service we received at Treeland Nursery. During the last several months we have added 10 trees for our property and have been very pleased with everything we received. Our first 5 trees was from another local tree nursery that plants the trees and guarantees them and their price per tree was high and the trees were not a mature as the ones we received from Treeland. Our last 5 trees came from Treeland and they were about half the price and the size was larger. I just wish I had shopped around before I purchased my first trees because Treeland is by far the better choice. This is how you're supposed to run a business! Everyone I dealt with from placing the order, picking the trees and delivery & installation were very helpful and professional. The wait time for our trees was long, but totally understandable. They showed up to deliver and install on time, the men working were super nice and got my opinion on the placement for each tree (we bought 10). They were done placing all 10 and had them staked, watered and cleaned up our lawn in less than 2 hours. The trees are beautiful and healthy looking. My husband and I had been looking for a couple of trees, and trying to stay on a budget. We'd looked at a couple of places in town, and I decided to drive up to Treeland. Everything is self serve up there; so, don't expect sales associates. However, there are no high pressure sales tactics and the place is huge. There are a lot of high quality trees to choose from. There is a self service "office" on the porch of this residence there. You get a clipboard with a form and tagging materials and maps there. Then you can take a golf cart to the trees you want to see. You need it or you'll be doing a lot of walking. The tagging instructions are easy to follow, and the prices are reasonable compared to other places. If you need trees, I highly recommend driving up to Gunter. read more

They also have an amazing website , with the trees and bushes they carry and where they are located with prices for planted. You can use the website to filter on what you want , size , evergreen, hedge plant etc. Amazing how few places do this. You do have to guess what they have. I wished they carried small bushes for putting around the foundation. Seems that's the next thing I need. I will definitely be back for some trees and bushes for the back of my yard. Although this nursery is basically in the middle of nowhere, it's definitely worth the drive. You won't find a better place to buy trees at wholesale prices that have been well cared for! We decided to replace the trees in our front yard because they were poor quality builder trees, and spent a long time deciding how we wanted to do it. Landscape companies wanted to charge us outrageous amounts of money for tiny, low quality trees. So we started looking for the actual tree farms the landscape people would buy them from, and that's how we found tree land! When you go there are almost always people there to drive you around the property in a golf cart and talk to you about the trees. We worked with Sandy and she was incredibly helpful! We explained the types of trees we were thinking about and she gave us the honest pro's and con's of each. She also stayed with us and told us which trees didn't look very healthy and what the branches would look like as the tree grew. With her help we were able to buy two amazing trees that will be delivered to our home in just a few weeks! To help you understand why Tree land is so amazing, I have to give you some detail on trees. Almost all of their trees are already in buckets and so the root ball of the tree has not been cut. This is INCREDIBLY important because if you cut the root ball of a tree (usually happens when they have to dig the tree up) the tree loses all of those roots which are how it feeds itself. This means that a tree that is not in a bucket, and has to be cut out, will not grow well for the first few years as it reestablishes its root system. This also means it's more likely to die in a severe storm or in bad weather because it's not healthy! Tree land also does an 18 month tree guarantee instead of a 12 month. This is also amazing because that means the tree will get to acclimate to the soil for over a year and you can see if it's going to survive or not. Over all, an amazing experience here, they have beautiful trees, and if you live ANYWHERE in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex, these guys are the ones to work with. read more

Treeland Nursery is a beautiful facility with an excellent inventory of top-quality trees. The staff on the grounds is kind and welcoming, and the delivery drivers are professional, knowledgeable and courteous. We purchased a tree from Treeland about 14 years ago, and although the nursery is far from our new home in Dallas, we returned in 2023 to pick out three trees because of the outstanding experience we had the first time. We had a lovely day selecting our trees and the Treeland team that day was helpful and kind. However, on the day our trees were to be delivered we ran into an issue due to a gas line in the area we wanted to plant. (This issue was NOT Treeland's fault and the guys sent to plant the trees that day were helpful in explaining why they could not plant.) HOWEVER...when we called the Treeland Nursery office for clarification, the administrative person in the office--Bridget--was incredibly dismissive and rude. At every turn after that, when we had to contact Treeland Nursery to discuss re-delivery of the trees, we interacted with Bridget and her tone and lack of consideration were appalling. Eventually the trees were re-delivered and the team that brought them remembered our home from the first attempted delivery. They were as courteous and professional as ever. We only wish Bridget's customer service matched the quality and care we received from every single other person at Treeland. We won't be back, and she is the reason. We purchased two trees from Treeland and had them planted on August 4th. One of these trees was a 35gallon Vitex. Being planted so late in the year we did not expect to see many blooms. We followed the care instructions regarding watering and feeding. We are amazed by this tree as it is now October 6th and this tree looks amazing. Cracked a hose for a bubbler and a PVC pipe connection underground when they came to stake the new tree. Even after I showed them where the lines were when they arrived. They failed to test the sprinklers and the lines before leaving. When I called them to tell them that I had a big leak, they told me they were not liable. I told them that I showed the workers where thet hose and underground water pipes were, but they said they're still not liable. Unprofessional and shady! Needless to say, there are a lot of trees in our new subdivision needing to be replaced and I will not be referring them to any of our neighbors! They also packed a lot of the old clay and mud and dirt around the perimeter of the tree instead of taking it with them when I really needed to have organic compost and mulch there instead. Arborist came out and said the tree company was lazy and should have taken it with them. It just suffocates the tree. The tree company should have known better! Very very dissatisfied with their work! We had to pay for a separate sprinkler repair irrigation service company to come out and fix both issues. Cost an extra $200. I bought 3 trees in succession and paid a discounted price for the last two. Altogether I spent over $2000 and all three trees had flathead borers in them. I am convinced that their trees are infested with these worms and they know it and sell them to customers They deny it but after speaking to the Aggie schools these borers take a few years to destroy a tree and the bark damage doesn't show up right away. The last tree had wood pecker holes on it and I was told that the woodpeckers know that the insects are in the tree. I was not told that when I bought the third tree. this last tree also has severe bark damage and flat head borers I will have to remove this tree and plant another one. I will not be buying any more trees from Treeland. I've already wasted over $2000 As you can see from the pictures this is the exact same thing that happened to the previous 2 trees read more

Install crew made and error and damaged a sprinkler pipe; minor quick easy fix; company not interested in fixing their error; company removed today's four planted new trees and left four freshly dug holes in my yard; pictures tell the story; crew was instructed to stay to the left of the drain hole on the wall and avoid the easily identifiable sprinkler line and head; crew dug to the right of the drain hole and nicked the line; no one wants to accept their error, nor fix my line; now I'm left with four holes to repair, a sprinkler line to repair, and no trees. read more

Recently purchased a 65-gallon Eagleston Holly and had it planted. Selection process was very easy - huge selection of each variety. Tree suppliers closer in to the Dallas area only had the smaller container size, and those were approx. the same price as we paid for the larger tree at Treeland. Installation went off without a hitch - the crew was very professional and was able to install the tree in a fairly constrained area near our pool. They left a clean worksite and were patiently able to get the tree oriented in the direction we wanted. I highly recommend them based on price and service - it's a little bit of a drive out to the farm, but the grounds are beautiful - it's a little like going to the Arboretum, except you can buy all the plants :-) read more

I ordered 3 trees. They sent a guy to mark all utility lines, and another week they came to plant trees, It was smooth process. I believe they did great job. Then figured out when the trees bloomed I noticed one of trees was wrong color. I contacted them , at same day they tried to help and they scheduled a day to plant correct tree. Great service . Just one concern is about planting ,after they remove soil and they put it back after planting and give shape to soil and call it as a mulching. I saw other trees , they are using real mulch under trees after planting but tree land is not doing that. read more

I well where do I start. Not here to bad mouth Tree land but I purchased 2 trees (1 year apart) in which Tree land's crew came out and planted. Both trees only bloomed on one side of the tree. So I called Tree land to discuss. The told me maybe I wasn't watering the tree enough, so I gave it more water, but no positive results. At first, they were going to replace the Japanese Pistachio (which was the 1st tree I purchased) but they later sent me a TEXT message stating they would not. So I went for a second opinion and I was told that both trees appears to have "girdling root," issues, where a root that is wrapped very tightly around the trunk below the soil line and the flow of water and nutrients from the roots to the branches is cut off, and when this happens, one half of the tree dies back, and the tree looks half dead. So 2 trees costing close to 2k are dead and gone. Obviously I made a bad choice in selecting a vendor. I will never purchase a costly tree from anyone, nor Tree land. My selections now come from the Arbor Day Foundation! read more

Derek will try to work with you to save the tree and if all else fails they will replace the sick/dead one with the warranty and even remove the existing tree free of charge. They will replace your tree no matter the cause unlike other farms. Their office staff is amazing so helpful and friendly. The owners are very educated on trees and their planting crews are such hard workers. The quality of the trees at treeland are beautiful for such great prices. I ordered a tree online , everything went well through online ,it had cost 373$ for 30 gallons. when I had been waiting a schedule date, I got a call saying they can not do it ,because min purchase should be 395$. We purchased 10 Red Dynamite Crape Myrtle trees for privacy along our back fence. We shopped around and Treeland by far gave us the best price. Plus, they warranty their trees for a full 18 months. Super professional and buttoned up. And...super patient as I changed my mind on the type of tree 3 times. They didn't bat an eye. Just updated the order. The morning of, I got an email which promised the exact time they'd arrive (and they were there on the dot!) and how long it would take. We purchased two tree form eagleston hollies in May 2020. The nursery was closed to the public but Treeland staff did a great job choosing the trees for us. The tree installation crew showed up on time, confirmed the location and orientation of the trees, and proceed to plant them. The staff provided us with detailed instructions on how to take care of the trees. The inspection ports were very useful. The trees are doing great. Derek doesn't honor Treelands warranty, but he does spend an awful lot of time writing denials and placing blame on Treeland's customers for any problems they will encounter. After delivery, driver had us call in payment and they gouged us with an unexpected convenience fee of 2.5% to use our credit card. Would of been nice to know this before we made the purchase. They just delivered and installed 8 30-gallon sized trees for us at our new house and we live over near Greenville, TX. The install job was perfect, the crew arrived earlier than expected, and two crews, working in different areas of our yard, planted trees in an hour and a half. They staked each and every tree, watered them in, cleaned up, and left everything neat and tidy. We will be returning soon for more trees. The selection is fantastic and only trees and shrubs that have great success rates for our area are stocked. Bob, the owner, will monitor the success of his stock and not re-stock those that do not perform well. Better prices and really great service! Very impressed!!! My first impression was that it was out in the country, sort of, because of narrow roads to get there, but it is a beautiful huge tree farm! Second, the "office" is a front porch of a home. There's a basket with instructions and kits to "tag" your tree. You take one of their golf carts out to ride as round and make your selection, then tag it with the ribbon and sticker provided. Return to the front porch and give them your form. They will schedule your delivery date and time and you are on your way! Two days in advance of delivery, they email you with a narrower window of time for the delivery. You pay when they get there to install. We had a 95 gal tree, it took them about 30 min to unload, dig, install, stake, water, set up drain, etc. Very professional and well worth the money!!!
