Bought a Frigidaire gallery refrigerator. Was told the refrigerator would be delivered on Dec. 2nd. No communication from delivery people. Was rescheduled for Dec. 11th. Refrigerator was finally delivered, but kept tripping our breaker. Called an electrician, looked at breaker and outlet checked everything and everything looked good. They replaced the refrigerator a 2nd time. Plugged in fridge and same issue, kept tripping the breaker. So I called Home Depot who all along were no help at all. Told them to pick up fridge and that I want a refund. They picked up fridge on Dec 27th. Mind you we bought the fridge on Nov. 29th. Going on a month without a working refrigerator. Now being told by Home Depot you have to wait 3-5 business days for the refrigerator to be scanned in at warehouse to get refund. They take your money right away, but if there is a problem. You're at Home Depot's mercy and they do not care about their customers. We bought what we thought was our dream refrigerator and turned out to be a nightmare! I placed an order on 3/12. It was finally delivered to Gainesville on 3/21 for me to pick up per the tracking details. However, the recorded bot said on 3/21 and 3/22 that they had my order and would email me when prep by them was completed. Never happened. The central office told me the same thing, even stating that an approximate pickup time would be early pm. Never happened. Then at the end of each day, I made it thru to this store and they confirmed for me that they had not received the product at all!!!! (They should run for political office!). COVID Depot as I have come to call this place. Watching employees with mask not covering their nose. Pulling the mask down to speak to people. Social distancing? Ask them anything and they assume that means step up to your face. Of course their are the signs about how not responsible they are if I get Covid, but they ARE responsible for the promises they make about masks, about social distancing, about their employee's consideration. I am in the home building business, and buy materials and supplies at Home Depot on a regular basis. I purchased 4 gift cards prior to Christmas for stocking stuffers for family members from the Home Depot store in Gainesville. All 4 gift cards turned out to be no good. When I tried to return or exchange the first gift card, I ended up wasting approximately an hour of my time to end up getting an in store credit, which can not be used to purchase a gift card. I ended up having to buy another gift card. The other 3 cards were brought back to me as well. This is not the first time I have had a bad experience with this store regarding trying to return products I have decided to not shop at this Home Depot anymore due to the hassle with trying to return defective products. Extremely disappointed in the lack of employees wearing face masks on May 7, 2020. My last visit 2-3 weeks ago nearly all employees were wearing masks. When I asked some employees why they were no longer wearing masks: all answered - we are following guidelines one answered - it's hot and I don't want to wear one another - we're practicing social distancing (while standing maybe 3-4 feet from me) another - there's conflicting information about masks To each I said "Masks are about protecting others, why not show me the same respect as I am showing you by wearing a mask?" and "Both CDC and Ga Dept. Public Health say to wear a mask in public." Their answers were to shrug their shoulders. May 8, 2020 spoke with manager about employees not wearing masks, he explained HD guidelines, when asked why the CDC and DPH guidelines regarding masks were not followed, he said the store had them available for employees. Well, that's comforting to know - not! To the employee who said masks were hot - tell that to the nurse, the doctor and all the other healthcare providers who are wearing them for 12 hours! Who are daily caring for patients - scared to death of getting Covid themselves, separated from their families to protect them from you because you don't want to be hot. Tool Rental department is very uneducated about the tools they rent. Was told the Gehl skid steer's hydraulic system was in working order. In reality the hydraulic system was not even hooked up. It was disabled and they didn't even know. They still charged me full price. Will not use this store again. read more

It shouldn't be so hard to be nice. We came in to get replacement guts for a toilet. An employee asked if we needed help right as we located what we needed and I said thanks we were just looking for toilet guts. He tried to tell us it was down the aisle a ways. As we are holding the package of the same exact guts we bought for a different toilet we said no, this is what we need. And he proceeded to ARGUE that we needed something else. That he's been in plumbing for 15 years and these aren't the guts we need. What?! I'm sorry, did you see what was wrong with my toilet? Did I miss you coming to my house to check it out?! About 7 years ago I purchased a new roof thru them for my house. They contract out the work and ever since I have had non stop leaks in my home. In addition I keep getting roofing nails in my shoes that I am lucky id not puncture my foot. In fairness, they did try to fix the problem using the same contractors. However, the problem never went away, but my warranty has! On top of this I paisley a premium price to use them. Big mistake. read more

Bought an item online, it was defective, I returned it the next day to the Home Depot in Gainesville. I opted for a store credit at the time because I was sure I would be able to find the product on the shelf. Unfortunately they did not have the stock, a very nice young lady named Emily helped me with an online purchase but it would not allow the store credit to be used. David, the store manager was unwilling uncaring to help refund the store credit and either put it back on my credit card where it was originally purchased. I have spent literally $15,000 in the last eight months at Home Depot and this $62 purchase has left the worst taste in my mouth for this company and its customer service. I normally do not write reviews but home depot and this world needs more employees like Ravin. My 8 year old son has down syndrome and shopping can sometimes be a task. Not only did she stop what she was doing to take us directly to what we needed she physically got on the floor with Alex when he got anxious and was on the edge of a break down. for twenty minutes they counted things on the shelf and spelled out different brands. When we were finished she walked us to the register She will never understand the impact she made by such a simple gesture. The paint department employees are basically there for show. They wait on who they want to in the time they want to. Standing in line patiently waiting and they take two people that walk up after me first. Still waiting... Too bad I don't know who hired them personally... Literally, you better not be in the store a minute past closing time or every employee will attack and pester you and be rude as hell until you leave. Little did we know they aren't open until 10 during the winter like they are during the summer. I ordered online for paneling and it said they had 40 in stock at the dawsonville store. They called and said they only had 18 but delivered 14 only and I had to wait for the rest of my order. Also, I needed 70 sheets but the online doesn't allow you to order what you need and tell you when the rest will be in stock. So, you have to reorder and pay the 79.00 shipping charge again because they don't have the amount you need at that time. They offered to give my half off on the nails which were only 2.50 a box but not on the part of the order I had an issue with. Online services said they couldn't help me even though I ordered through them and that I would have to call the store manager. They don't ship store to store for the free store pickup they offer either because each store is individual owned and managed. They store rep I talked did however do her best to help me and was polite and that was the only good thing about my experience. read more

They arrived, no one was home (we were very close by) and so they just left. Then we were told that once they leave they will not come back so they tried to reschedule us for a week down the road. I just went in ready to drop some serious cash on a bathroom remodel. I waited nearly 20 minutes at the design desk for someone to help. I flagged down two associates who supposedly went to find someone, but neither they, nor the specialist ever showed up. Another employee finally informed me that everyone was at lunch. I rented a power washer today, and after getting it home I tried for 2-hours to get it to prime to no avail. I then returned the rental equipment to the store and met with the asst. store mgr. Melissa. She said all she could do for me is not charge me for the equipment -Which NEVER worked. She offered to give me another machine (its 7pm) I'm painting porches, which I explained that I couldn't paint in the dark & needed the machine starting late morning when the temperature was warm enough to paint. I ask if I could take the new machine tonight so I wouldn't have to make another 30 mile trip tomorrow. She said, Nope, that's all she could do. I said, you wasted my day today & now your going to chg me for a machine that HOPEFULLY works, but I have to make another round trip tomorrow? Shouldn't it be Home Depot's responsibility to make sure machines rented actually work? I wasted my day off from the police dept. for nothing more than running back & forth from this store. I understand that items rented may go out by accident, but shouldn't your store at the very least allow me to get a machine that works for tomorrow? You say you guarantee your products, how is that working for me? If an asst. mgr can't discuss and handle a situation like this perhaps your company should have a manager on duty who can make decisions. My husband and I came to home depot on 06/07/2014 we were there to pick up a few things flowers, paint, paint stuff, mulch and things.. A lot of people were nice but one employee that stuck out for us was Steph. She is a cashier and is very friendly and really gives you a warm welcome and had made sure we found everything we needed.. She made conversation with us and really made us feel like she appreciated us shopping there... We were standing in line we had one customer ahead of us we heard the other customer tell her home depot was lucky to have an employee like her and we agree. she graciously thanked him and told him about the survey on his receipt that prompted me to go a little further and put it on yelp... So all in all we had a great experience and we feel 70%of why was because of Steph your cashier.... Hopefully someone that works in the store will see this and give her the recognition she deserve.. Do not purchase appliances from Home Depot and have them delivered and installed. We purchased a refrigerator from Home Depot in Gainesville. We contracted with Home Depot for delivery and installation. The refrigerator arrived as they said it would and the installers uninstalled our old refrigerator and installed the new one. The next day we found a major leak in our downstairs bedroom from a leak where the install had taken place. Home Depot referred us to their installers (Spirit Delivery - not Home Depot) who denied they caused the problem. Going on three weeks later, WE are having to fight with to get any kind of descent review and in the meantime to prevent further damage - the estimated damage is already around $7,200 - we had to file a claim on OUR homeowners insurance. We will have to pay higher rates for the next several years because of this problem and Home Depot indicated a willingness to be responsible nor have they been helpful in getting Spirit Delivery to respond. OUR insurance provider, Blackwell Agency - Allstate, has been a life saver and totally responsive to our needs. Again, our recommendation is to not buy appliances from Home Depot and have them delivered or installed by Spirit Delivery. Try Lowes, their employees deliver and install appliances. read more
