Would rate them a 0 or -1 (if possible) BLUF: Service was terrible despite having an appointment. They lied to me directly and the "MOD", "Fives"? did not care about losing a customer, and more importantly customer First mentality. Details: Drove 50 miles (one way) for a set appointment for work on my iPhone needing a new battery. On arrival I was told the battery could be replaced within 1.5 hours, and they would get "it started right away" (I have the timestamped contract). I came back 2 hours later only to find it had not even been started yet. To make matters worse the MOD, Fives, said "I'm sorry and nothing can be done" only a reversal of the already charged replacement". I suggested a discount on the service due to the lie they told me and more importantly my loss of an afternoon of my time. I have also requested they remove my PII from all databases, datapoints. I recommend a total revamp of their thoughts on customer service. In the meantime, I hope this helps many steer clear of an unnecessary business with Best Buy. read more

I found out that this Best Buy has a particular phone I want. I was told there is ONE more and I need to go online and pay for it and it will be put on hold for me for 1 hour. I live almost an hour north of Gainesville, so I got it on hold and drove down there and was there in 45 minutes. I was told that they actually didn't have it. Their computer said that the phone would be delivered to that store in 7 days. I said "skip it". I was treated with lack of respect there last year too, when getting a dash cam. I've been to this location at least four times looking to buy a new big screen tv and some accessories with it. Each time I've selected the products, had helpful staff put it all together and ask it to be delivered and installed. Each time I mentioned up front that I was 70 miles away. Each time "not a problem" was the response. First time someone called after making my selections to say they couldn't come that far, tripled the amount of spending I'd agreed upon and never heard from them again. Returned a time later, shared my experience and began the process all over again. Again I was told no problem, there was a charge for making that extended a trip which I was fine with. This time I found I didn't need most of what we'd decided upon, was told all was in stock and finalized the purchase price. Was told it would be a month and a half before they could come after telling me they would come Saturday, three days from my visit. I said that's too long, can you do better. I gave my phone number and was told I'd received a call within 24hrs with a time. Been almost a month now with no call. Been a long time Best Buy customer buying most of my electronics from them. Lived in a different state and realize we are more remote now. Always different people at this location, inventory is poor and still can't get what I'm trying to buy. It's a big purchase. Totally unreliable. They will confirm an appliance appointment via a phone and then not show up with the delivery without any notice at all. If I had not called, we would have never known they had cancelled. All of a sudden, the cursed Friday (TGIF) delivery refrigerator has disappeared but strangely could be relocated and delivered July 5 no problem. We cancelled our Refrigerator order as they were supposed to deliver it in one day, then a week, and now they wanted to reschedule for July 5. Cost us hundreds of dollars. Do not believe their confirmations and don't buy any appliances from them as it will cost you in the long run. Customer service is mostly insincere apologies and lip, with no taking responsibility from anyone. Manager was supposed to call me, of course he did not. I have used the Gainesville store several times. Although not heavily staffed, I have never had an issue being helped. The employees I came in contact with are always helpful and friendly. Our two most recent purchases was a microwave and a tv. I reviewed the microwaves myself. Once I selected one, an employee quickly arranged to have the microwave taken to the register for me. They also helped load into my car. Our other purchase was a 65" tv. We returned the 55" I had bought my husband for Christmas. Best Buy was excellent! They made the return of the 55" extremely EASY! Finally, I will say we stream our programs. When we got home and unboxed the 65" tv, we realized the FUBO app was not loaded. Needless to say, that was really irritating. We called Hisense support first. They were awful. They just said, FUBO does not come on that particular tv!! Then we called BB support. According to their records our tv should have had the FUBO app. We ended up making an appt. for them to come out. The person we talked to was Anna. She was awesome! She set up an appt for a tech. But she also said to review other tvs we liked in the event they could not get the FUBO app loaded to our new tv. If that were to occur, BB would come pick up the HIsense and deliver the replacement and hook it up for us!!!!!!!! I was stunned! Ultimately, there was a good ending. My husband looked, again at the app for Hisense which was put on his phone when scanning the QR code on the tv. He realized the FUBO app, we wanted, was there to upload to the tv when he scanned the QR code. All he had to do was continue following the prompts to finish the install of the app to the tv. Which he did. Fubo is now on our tv. In other words, USER ERROR!! LOL. We cancelled our tech support appt. But Anna was amazing as were all the employees we interacted with. Word of caution. Hisense just came to an agreement with FUBO in 2023 to put their app on Hissense tvs. NOT all Hisense tvs will have it. Double check that when purchasing. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!! After their online Customer Service told me to go inside my local BEST BUY (Gainesville, Ga) for assistance I entered the store and was greeted by a person that I later learned was the Manager. I told her what I was there for----have the auto renewal antivirus for my aunt cancelled. (She has dementia & I have her Power of Attorney) She sent me to the Geek Squad. The tech (Elvis--cool name!) was by himself & helping someone at the time. I got in line behind 2 people. While waiting 2 young ladies joined the line. When he finished he looked up at us & asked if we had an appointment (I did not) Only one person had an appointment (the 2nd person in line) The young ladies that walked up last said they just needed to do a pickup & he called them over without talking to the rest of us or taking the guy that had an appointment. Something went wrong with their pickup & 40 minutes later another employee came to help & he took the guy that had an appointment. After finishing with him, he called the guy that had been in line before me. Elvis told him he needed an appointment & he made him an appointment for a later time. Then he called me & said I needed an appointment. The next person on the appointment list wasn't due in for an hour. I asked if he could try to help me before then since I had been waiting so long & he agreed. After telling him why I was there, he told be that had to be done online. I told him online said I had to come in person. He said he had to get the Manager to help me. Surprise! It was the person who had greeted me an hour & a half earlier! She took care of my problem. I have no issues with getting products from Best Buy. My issue is with their Geek Squad. I first brought my pc in to them in March to get a big upgrade. Everything but my gpu and PSU was upgraded and had them upgrade my C Drive from a 250 gb SSD to a 1 TB SSD. I get told that my PC is done so I go to pick up my pc. The swapped my 1 TB HD to the 1 TB SSD because they just assumed that was what I wanted since the other 3 drives I had were SSD. They did not even call to confirm what I wanted. They told me it would take 2 hrs to fix so I returned to work at 3:30 and had my mom go to pick up my PC. She gets there and it isn't done and was told it wouldn't be done until later. This was at 5:30. I call them just before 8 pm when the loc closes and they said it was done. So I go the next morning to pick it up. I also called them to speak with a manager to let them know about my experience and was told a manager would call me back. Never did. Fast forward to June and I upgrade my gpu and PSU because my gpu died. Easy enough to change and I did that and I messed up a wire and got no display. I take it to geek squad so they could help me figure out the issue and so they did. They didn't get the rgbs on my pc fans to work but that is a minor thing. Don't care about it as much. So then I notice my pc is overheating so I try replacing the thermal paste myself at the beginning of July. Afterwards my PC has power but no display. So that Saturday (7.15.23) I dropped my pc off for diagnostics. On Sunday they call to tell me it's a motherboard. So I buy a new motherboard to have them install. And yes I had told them about my issues with overheating. So I pick up my pc on Monday cause they said it's done. I plug my pc in and run it for maybe 30 - 60 min. It is still overheating and applications are crashing. My computer crashes because of an issue with the CPU Fan which should have been taken care of when the motherboard was replaced. I promise you that Gainesville Geek Squad is NEVER touching my pc again. read more

I had decided to try Best Buy to install a modern car radio in an older model. The car is for a kid in college so it was important that she could turn to her local store if she had a problem. As there are no stores near me that do car audio I called the telephone number of one I was willing to drive to. That is where the problems began. My questions were for the install tech but the local telephone number is directed to national and that applies TO EVERY STORE. They refused to give me a local contact. As polite as that refusal was it was extremely frustrating as they do not have the same abilities to answer that the install tech would have. At one point in the process I did get an extension for the Jacksonville FL store where tech Josh was able to clear up all of my questions in 5 minutes flat. The only problem was that they were booked too far out in appointments. I tried to repeat my success with a different store (Gainesville) but National refused to give me the extension. Instead they walked me through all sorts of details on average costs and install only to tell me that Gainesville is not doing installs right now. This whole set up is a complete clown show. I walked around the store by the TV's hoping the two sales associates standing there would at least ASK if I needed help or had questions. Instead they both were speaking to a customer about hotel prices and other random crap that had nothing to do with thier store. I had such a great experience with the customer service at this store. Someone had switched the tag on an appliance I bought, so the wrong model was delivered. The manager, Jonquise, took such great care of me and fixed everything. I'd been shopping for appliances at Lowe's and Home Depot, but I am so glad that I decided to buy from Best Buy. OMG/ Best customer service ever!!!!! I spent an hour on the phone with Verizon to resurrect my hot spot that was not working. Verizon could not get it to work, neither could Apple. worst store in the state. I went to the Gainesville, GA store tonight with my family for my son to pick out a new video game. He found one he liked and we went to checkout. The cashier rang it up at $64.19 and then asked us to wait while he called a supervisor. The supervisor came over and said I cant sell this to you. I asked him why and he told me its against the law. I said I don't understand. You have a product with several copies on the shelf and I have money. This is the way it works. You have products and I pay for them. He said its against the law and I will not sell it to you no matter what you say. My wife and kids are standing there in awe as he is refusing to sell me a stupid video game claiming its against the law. I told him to stop saying that as there is no such law. He then backs up and says you need to leave your money is no good here. I asked him why and he just walks off. I then ask the cashier what his name was and he tells me he is not going to tell me. I said so your refusing to give me your supervisors name and he said yes. The supervisor heard and said he wants my name and I said yes I do. He tells me to wait and he will get me a card. As I sit and wait for the supervisor the cashier says to me I don't understand what your problem is. I have shopped at this Best Buy for almost a year and I have never had a problem with customer service from Best Buy. The Geek Squad service, on the other hand, is a complete joke. I am I constant "price matcher". I will never buy anything without checking around first and luckily Best Buy always price matches without issues (given the price match is from a from a legitimate business). The manager that helped me out last time with a Geek Squad issue was John. He is very patient and understanding. Long story short; Geek Squad came to my home, took my TV apart, said they would order parts but never came back, leaving my TV unassembled. After contacting Geek Squad they said they would refund my money but never did and that's where John came in and saved the day. He called Geek Squads customer service line and was transfers around non-stop (and hung up on) for about an hour. To me, that goes above and beyond what an average manager would do for a customer. I will recommend this Best Buy to everyone I know. From my experience, anyone with a legitimate request will have a satisfactory experience as well. read more
