I came in for the ice melt, not all stores have it. The selection of things they have to protect your home from freezing temperatures is great. I was a little lost so I asked the staff member where I could find the ice melt.. not a normal Texas product. She was very helpful and told me the easiest route to get to what I was looking for. When I got to the ice melt. I noticed that everything you could possibly think of that's needed to help protect your home from the freezing temperatures was located very close together. Home Depot is my happiest place on Earth. Usually I dont have to ask for help, but today i actually got the best assistance in my experience. I didnt get her name, but she was working in the lumber/window section (she had snake bite piercings (if that helps narrow it down)). She was AWESOME! I told her what wood i was looking for, i even had the barcode from my previous purchase. She came over to the aisle with me, and saw that the lumber i needed was "out of stock". She knew they had some and found it. She got it down for me, and helped me get the pieces i wanted! Asked another question and immediately gave me some options and assisted again! She was so nice and so helpful! I hope yall can have her assist u in the future! Great experience today! read more

I came to The Home Depot to purchase a dishwasher; during checkout the appliance sales lady could not apply the "Military Appreciation" discount. She tried multiple times with out success, and then left to find out why it did not apply. Apparently The Home Depot has decided that they do not appreciate active duty military members, veterans, and retirees as much as they say. You can get your discount on any other item, but not on the most expensive individual item that they sell. This would have been 1-star if I could review the company, not the location. Lowes is right across the street, and so is Best Buy; you would think that they would give the discount due to the competitive advantage they would have. read more

While looking to start a DIY project I needed 8 cuts on a 4x8ft sheet of plywood. I contacted Customer Service and had Cynthia assist. Lost my business today due to the fact that the person in the garden center have no idea what seed starting trays are. Actually the only person that knew what seed starting trays was standing behind the customer service desk and said that it's a seasonal item. Well maybe to the average person it's seasonal, but I garden All year long and never stop growing. After that disappointing experience, went to Lowe's and they had an entire section of Seeds, trays, warming mats, starting seed soil, and everything that I need for my garden. Lowe's has my business from now on, just because Home Depot decided not to supply a $5 seed tray, when it's the perfect time to start seeds indoors....they completely lost my business. read more

I am a Contractor and I am in the same Home Depot store on an average of 4-6 times a week. This is the store in Garland on the corner of George Bush (190) & Hwy 78. I have watched this store deteriorate slowly over the past 12 months that I am really sad every time I walk into the store. NO ONE is ever available to help you in any section you go into of the store, the people they do hire know NOTHING about the products they are representing, and the store is AWAYS in shambles everytime I walk in, it appears a tornado hit the store and no one picked up. I walked in today and immediately went to the Men's Restroom, it was a TOTAL MESS, only 2 out of 4 stalls were operational, toilet paper ALL over the floor, water everywhere, and when I walked out there was a store employee walking by and I stopped him. I said do you work here and he replied yes, I said the Men's Restroom is a mess and his was reply was "yea, been that way all day", and kept on walking. I checked myself out because there were NO checkers anywhere, there was a girl watching everyone check themselves out but all she did was watch, I spent over $200 on this trip alone and walked right past her and not a "Thank you, please come back, thank you for shopping at Home Depot, or anything", she just starred at everyone. Sure miss the "Good Old Days" of Home Depot when you walked in the store in the morning to be greeted by construction professionals at the Pro Desk ready to help you or at least serve you a cup of coffee and shoot the bull for a few minutes. If you're looking lumber more curved than two dudes trying to sixty nine, this is the store for you! You can sort through and eyeball for the best lumber, and I promise you will get home with wooden question marks. Customer service recommends you just "bring it back" and exchange it. So I already got to project site, and I need to go back for more hot wheels tracks super turns. Unfortunately I live in a world where Home Depot controls the market. I came in looking for a chest freezer and Daniel was very helpful and polite. He helped me make my best selection. When I arrived to the cash register Miguel was very friendly and welcoming. I see Miguel very often as I shop here weekly, seems like a good kid. After my purchase Jovani in the lot was excited to help. I didn't even have to ask , and he was there in a heartbeat. I have rather mixed feelings about this place I always end up going back to. They have so much stuff, and my house is always in need of repair. I do always find myself in need of employee help and there seems to always never be anyone around. On this day I lucked out and found two guys one tried to help and the other just tried to find someone in that department to come help. The department guy never came. We just settled on something and checked out. I do wish they had more employees or a call button or something. read more

Definitely not the most welcoming place Just currently purchased a new home and needed to pay for carpet installation in my son's room. The older lady that helped me was a miserable ole gal, she never said hello, may I help you? She never smiled, I was actually trying to imagine her with a personality. So, as she went in the system to pull up my order after having my son's room measured by one of their Representatives, no eye contact no nothing...just plain evil! When she did speak she spoke to me with no eye contact just as if she hated that she had to assist me or that i was even buying that much carpet for my son's bedroom. After entering what was needed to be entered in order for me to pay, she tried to make me pay $250 more than what was originally quoted. Basically she tried to get me to pay $1500 instead of $1250, and had the audacity to try to speak to me in the presence of waiting customers as if I was a total idiot and did not know how to add or wth I was talking about. Another Representative came to assist and found that the lady was totally WRONG!!! After so, the Manager smiled at me and said hello, I smiled back and informed him that he needed to either put her waaaay in the back of the store to do inventory or let her go. I told him of everything documented above and informed that I would notify corporate if this experience. He was very apologetic, and informed that he has been trying speak with this lady about her attitude and that I was NOT the first person to complain about her. Other than this experience with that representative, Home Depot is ok with me. My son's carpet came out perfect!!! read more

I can't tell you about shopping at this location, because I don't believe I've ever been there. What I can tell you is that if you're looking for an item, good luck getting them to answer the phone. I was looking for an item a few weeks ago and couldn't even get them to answer the phone. When I mentioned this to customer service at one of the Home Depot stores that I went to because they do answer phone calls, not only did the person know which store I was talking about, they told me I didn't just catch them on a bad night. This store doesn't even like answering the store-to-store extension number. I worked retail too many years to reward customer service like that with my business. read more

Went to pick up flowers and plants for my daughter's patio planters. The selection is better then many nurseries. This location also has pavers for bordering my ground / planting area in front of my house. I'll be back to get some of those plus flowers that are hardy in the summer like lantana and Mexican heather. Friendly staff and quick check out. read more

I normally dont write review but i do this time and if there's an option to give a negative 100 stars i would too. I purchased a $10 toilet tauger and i was told by the salesperson that Homedepot would not take it back if it is used but bring only the receipt back if there's any problem and we will give you a refund. The tool did not do a damn thing, broke the handle and bruised cut my fingers. I Came back to purchase a Kleer Drain instead and also told the Service Rep what happened. She asked me to bring the product back and she will give me a refund back. When i came back an hour later, she (the same effing Customer Rep) said, " we cant give you a refund because of all the craps". Then i asked for the person in charge and she came out. Well, we do not take the item back nor give you a refund back but i would do you a favor to give you the money back. That's fantastic, but i wanted you to know that your employee really wasted my time since she has no clue what she was doing, not because of $10. Then the "person in charge" went to assist someone else without finishing up with me and i could not wait so i just left. I even told the service rep you can have the refund i would not need it. I've been coming to this location for years and still see the same people working there that did 8 years ago. Many of those in the various departments know their stuff, are knowledgeable and friendly as can be. Two superstars in my mind are the gentlemen who works in paint, unfortunately I can't remember his name, however he's been there forever and knows anything and everything about what you'll need and more importantly what you won't need. And you can't write a review about this place without mentioning Don who works in the garden department. He is amazing. Retired gentlemen who used to own a nursery himself so he knows his craft. He's also very funny! Keep up the awesome work at this location. You keep me coming back time and again. read more

About a week ago I visited this Home Depot looking for the *perfect* first ever live Christmas tree. I am pregnant and my husband works offshore, so I knew before I got there it would take an extra helpful employee to take care of me. I waited for Matthew to finish working with a few other customers and I noted immediately how excellent his customer service skills were with them. This continued in our encounter! He offered to open multiple trees for me, allowed me to borrow his tape measure to measure the available space in my SUV, offered to load the tree for me, etc... all while be extremely courteous and professional. After I purchased the tree and he trimmed the small bottom piece off of the stump, he offered it to me as a "memento" for my first ever live tree. I am sincerely BLOWN AWAY by how wonderful my experience was. Matthew is the BEST! I also received assistance from Michael in the lawn and garden department. I think when I asked him for help he was already clocked out, but rather than blowing me off or rushing me - he walked me all the way to the item I was looking for and gave me recommendations between the different brands. I am so impressed by my experience at this Home Depot that I will not be returning to the Lowe's across the street. read more

I have come here a handful of times over the past year, and they have seriously stepped up their customer service game. The past two times I have been here I have received more help than some higher end mall stores! In both of my last two visits I was approached by associates to see if I needed any help - and oh yes, I did. Both times, the associates asked questions to get a better understanding of what I needed, offered advice, and educated me in a friendly, genuine way. From stepping into the store and being greeted, to wonderful sales floor people, to friendly and energetic cashiers, this is the best Home Depot I have been to. read more

I mainly go here to get the occasional home improvement product that I can't just get at Target, and also to check out their nursery, since I own a variety of succulents and cacti. I find this store to be so overwhelming. Every time I'm in here I get lost, and I have a hard time finding what I need. On their website you can look up the product you want in advance, and find out exactly what aisle and bay it is in, but sometimes it's just not feasible to look up what you need ahead of time. I find that customer service is really hit or miss. Either I'll get someone who knows exactly what they are talking about and is extremely helpful, or I'll get someone who is completely clueless. They do have an amazing selection though and good prices so I'll keep coming back. read more

I wanted to reach out and praise this store on their website, but couldn't find a place to do so. I purchased a Traeger from this Home Depot recently--thinking it would be in the box, but they had already assembled it (something that would usually cost extra). Unfortunately, I did not know this and when I arranged to pick it up I did not have a truck (only an SUV). Luckily I had two incredibly helpful associates who quickly disassembled it so that it would fit. I honestly would have imagined to see them be frustrated by this additional task, but they were so pleasant and helpful. I wish that I knew their names so that I could praise them specifically, but I really appreciated their service. I returned home and found that the power cord for the Traeger was missing, but because of the pleasant experience with the two associates, I was not upset. I called the store and spoke to Mark, who said that they kept them separate because of theft which made sense. I was able to return and retrieve it and everyone was just as kind and friendly as they were in my previous experience. I live closer to 2 other Home Depot's, and will most likely shop with them in the future due to convenience--but I was blown away by the outstanding service I received from this location. Worst customer service ever. Water heater flooded our house on Monday. Good news, still under warranty. They were supposed to be here yesterday - first thing. Never showed. They were going to be here first thing TODAY. Finally here at 4 pm but it took both husband and myself calling installer, Home Depot, both store and corporate many, many times. HD said it was our fault. WE should have called Rheem, the manufacturer. No, we called the people we bought it from, HD and their contracted installer. Pitiful customer service and then blame the people who have a flooded house and no hot water for 2 days. Ridiculous. Their installer actually told me that flooring installs get first priority. Excuse me???!!! Consider this fair warning if you are thinking of buying anything from HOME DEPOT! read more

I'm a total fan of Garland's Home Depot, and I'm not even a lesbian. Since becoming a home owner, we've had to visit practically every week. Items are easy to find (unless you are looking for a fireplace key, then you need a slew of staff to help) and everything is well priced. They have annoying cameras with displays on them and every time I walk past it, it beeps. There was a bald white guy with an orange beard there that looked at me when I tried to see where the beeping was coming from, and he told me, "Would you leave that thing alone? It's mine". Had a great experience today buying a ladder for our house. The aisle was closed, but an associate very kindly helped us. We opted for an 8 foot ladder, but when we got it home, it was too short. Fortunately it was super easy to exchange, and they looked up the purchase with our credit card (since we didn't have a receipt). We picked up a ten footer and it worked out just perfectly! read more

I really needed a new microwave because I have had my microwave for over 5 years and it was starting to have problems. About a month ago I went to this same store to be able to find a microwave, and I found one that I liked and the employee did the order for us. The microwave arrived about 4 weeks later and we had a HUGE problem in which we couldn't find the order to send someone to help us install the microwave. We had to call about 5 time to be able to get someone to help us, and a few days later the man came to our house and told us that something had been MISSING in the packaging of the microwave which was the lining for the microwave, and again we had to call about 5-6 time to be able to get that part sent to us. After 3 more weeks the part arrived and today we called the person to help us install the microwave, but when he arrived he opened the box of the microwave and the microwave looked like something you would find in a trash dump. It was banged up all over the place, and it even had duct tape on it. If you want a New appliance or any type of installation don't go to Home Depot, because your product my come out like an object that was thrown in the trash, banged up and useless. read more

The in store personnel are great here. Most are knowledgeable and give very good advice, especially for the diy types. However, I had to take two stars off for delivery. Whoever arranged the contract for the delivery of appliances should have to used the damaged goods the delivery people drop off at customer's homes. We bought both a fridge and dishwasher on separate occasions from here. Both were delivered with dents and the leg on the dishwasher was bent. The fridge we were given a discount on by the delivery person as he noticed it after he delivered it. The dishwasher we didn't notice until after the delivery person had left and we were told to contact the delivery service customer service line by the store. We could never get a response from the customer service people at the delivery service line other than sorry to hear that. If you buy appliances, pick them up yourself and inspect carefully. read more

Okay... Bringing your children to work... Or having your kid at work at home depot is a bad idea. You already can't get help at a home depot. We went on mother's day and there were kids there that belonged to the lady doing the register. We get to the front of the line and here comes this kid grabbing the bar code gun from the lady saying he wanted to do it. She lets him...of course right... Then she couldn't even finish the transaction because her son was asking repetitively for gum. The lady was so frazzled that she ended up giving me gum instead of my receipt. She even was apologizing to me because she couldn't even focus because of her own kid running around and interrupting. Where have we gone as a society? Really? Do we need to bring kids everywhere? We had a nightmare experience with this Home depot. We ordered some fence panel and schedule to delivery to our house in 2 weeks in advance. They called us on the delivery date and told us that they didn't order the panels. It took them 2 days to cancel our order. I never come back to this home depot again. The manager and employee there got no idea what they are doing. Need more training. read more

Online clearance items that show in stock and can be picked up at this store always turn up as out of stock. I have experienced this more than 5 times. I was able to place orders and in most cases stock showed more than 4 available. I received confirmation that item is ready for pickup and then after a few minutes, will get an email saying that my order has been cancelled. I strongly believe somebody working at this store that handles online orders would get for himself items ordered online once he sees that they are significantly reduced. Instead of buying clearance online items and picking up from this store, choose the one in Richardson on Jupiter or in Plano near Hwy 75 & 15th St. I never had any cancellations at these locations after I received confirmation that the item is ready for pickup. read more

I have been here a handful of times and actually twice in one week which is odd for me. The first time was fantabulous, and I was in and out. The one sales associate I asked for help pointed me in the right direction and was very friendly. The second time I discovered an awesome service where I could pick everything I needed from the comfort of my pajamas and home, pay online and just pick up in store when ready I found everything I needed and a few hours later I got a text letting me know it was ready for pick up. I arrive thinking it would be quick process, literally everything was ready, picked, paid, and ready. I had to wait in a line for 15 min then be ignored by the sales associate who was gabbing with a friend, then answered and handled two phone calls, then she helped us. Don't get me wrong, when she was helping us she was friendly, but I was disappointed to spend 20 min in Home Depot when it could have been handled in 5. I will go back because I can't hold her accountable for losing my business when I got exactly what I wanted and didn't have to search through the store. read more

Terrible experience at this Homedepot. I went to get some pipes for a project I'm working on. I needed to go to plumming to get the pipe cut to the length I needed. I waited a good 45 minutes for the guy in plumming to help me out. Even two other associates asked me if I had been helped and called for the plummer.
