They came out for a simple washer lid lock issue. Took him 30 minutes and a small part and they charged $350! Shame on me for not asking their minimum labor charge which turned out to be $250! Used to be good they have now lost my business and the rental properties after too many problems, used them 2018 early 2020;s but honestly the new management is really horrible and a waste of time, money and bad customer service - WILL NOT GO BACK and they lost my business with horrible customer service after saying the cost of a service call would be taken out after part was ordered, part was backordered so delayed when part finally came in and checked 4 months later they wont honor the agreement and now wants to have the part be $200 more so bye bye and thanks for doing it to someone who just yanked 21 other properties from ever seeing your company again. They came out nearly 6 weeks ago to repair my dishwasher. Took 50% deposit and went off to order part. Then nothing. No call, no update, no part. I have called twice to find out what was going on. Rep who took my first call said part was 'ordered' and should hopefully be in within 2 weeks. I called again today and they said it coUld be 14 weeks before they receive the part. I don't blame them for the part unavailability, I blame them for the lack of communication and clearly setting expectations up front. For the price to repair I probably would have opted to replaced it. This is poor customer service and the guy that I spoke with today was rude and refused to take accountability for their poor customer service. I will not use appliance doctor again. read more

Came out for washer not going into 'wash' mode. Found it was a lid lock issue- simple fix! Great! But now it's been over a week and they say they can't come back until 6 more days!! I've been without a washer for over two weeks! The delay in getting a simple part was their fault! Make it right! I called another repair company and they are coming TOMORROW with the part. The Whirlpool dishwasher that came with the house I had bought is failing to add soap at the correct point in the wash cycle. Roman, the first Appliance Doctor technician came by, but wasn't able to make the repair. Appliance Doctor sent a second technician who was supposed to be more experienced, and this second repairman told me that he couldn't make the repair unless the error took place while he was on the premises. Apparently he didn't want to stay during a whole washer cycle, and apparently neither repairman didn't know how to sequence the cycle. My experience is that Appliance Doctor makes sure that it gets paid, but doesn't stand behind its repairs. read more

I have not been able to wash my clothes for a week and a half, due to a leaky washing machine. I called to schedule an appointment with Appliance Doctor, and was told I would receive a phone call the day prior to the appointment with a time window. That call never came. The first call I got came while I was still in bed asleep, and the technician was at my house. He called 2 times, and left. I called the main line, and was told their repair people were booked solid until Saturday. I am now forced to go buy (and wear without washing) new underwear because I can't wash my clothes, and I'm EXCEEDINGLY disappointed with the lack of service I received. If you schedule with them, better make sure you wake up at 7 AM the day of your appointment, just in case they don't call and tell you when they're coming. read more

On 9/1/22, they sent someone name Roman to my residence to diagnose my GE dryer. He turned it on and told me I needed 3 things that totaled $488.26. Being that I never seen someone fix something just by sound I was to say the least "pissed". I called in my complaint and on 9/9 they sent me another gentleman "Chris". Chris is very professional and knowledgeable, my dryer was a simple fix that only cost $217. If they ever send Roman to you, my advice ask for someone else. I don't know how he got that job but he is extremely incompetent. Thank you so much Chris, we need more people like you in this world. I would go on about Roman, he definitely needs to be terminated ASAP! I would rate them higher but what took 2 visits should have been done the 1st visit. Excellent experience and quality service. Quick appointment scheduling with confirmation email. The tech (Blue) arrived on time (also called when on the way). He was professional, courteous, clean and organized. Thorough trouble shooting and verification of parts needed. The repair was expensive (new refrigerator compressor), but much less than a new refrigerator (48" are not cheap!). He also fixed another minor leaking water line gratis. Part was special order so he had to come back for the repair. There was an issue after the repair (water didn't work). They came back and after thorough troubleshooting found a wire was not properly plugged in. Stuff happens in a major repair, so the fact that they cheerfully and efficiently fixed it at no charge is a plus. All in all, fair price with above average quality. Excellent warranty too. read more

I will NEVER use them AGAIN! They are only into making money and replacing parts that are working fine!!! My KitchenAid Refrigerator had ice forming behind the produce drawer and so I had called them. The first time a person showed, he said he need to order a part and charged me $207. Then he shows up 3 days later and the part was worn, so he order another part and asks me to pay more. I did. He replaced it and the issue persisted. Then a Tech Lead shows up and tells me that they replaced a part that was functioning well but now I need to replace my control board (he said there was no way to check whether mine was working or not-guesswork) and will need to pay an additional of $312! I engaged a different company and they fixed it without replacing any parts!!! read more

I've used these folks several times and been happy. This week they installed a gas stovetop. They removed the old gas line then found they did not have the materials to replace it. So they 'reinstalled' the old line. They planned to come back another day to replace it. During that night I woke to the smell of gas. I called Atlanta Gas Light (kudos to the fine serviceman who came) and he agreed there was a leak and spent two hours replacing the entire line bringing it up to date. I was very disappointed with Appliance Doctor that they missed the leak and left me in potential danger. read more

Called to get them to come look at our washer and dryer. Didn't get an appointment window for a week and a half - which they said up front they had a lot of appointments ahead of us. Fair enough. Tech showed up late for the appointment. Took a look at the washer and said it would be a relatively easy fix but he needed to order a part. Dryer was different story he said - had multiple issues with the circuit board and something about unusual amount of wear on the drum and blower gears. Was going to check if the parts/labor would be higher than replacement. Said the office would call the following day. No call the next day, or the weekend. I called the following Monday and the person on the phone said she would have to get with the tech who came out and call back. No call back. Then I called them on Tuesday and they said that the tech didn't turn in the report so they didn't have anything for us yet. I couldn't tell if this was a stall tactic because they have too many repair requests to handle or it was trying to get me to just buy new machines from them. Either way I gave up and called Lowes and bought a new washer/dryer from them. Don't waste your time with Appliance Doctor - they either don't want to help customers or are not able to do so. read more

The absolute worst! DO NOT USE APPLIANCE DOCTOR! Scheduled service for my dryer, and was charged $97 for a diagnostic fee that included nothing, other than a paper receipt with the incorrect customer information on it. The technician, (who did not have the courtesy to wear a mask during another covid spike) did not even try to fix the issue, which is obviously the start button needing to be readjusted. I was told I would be the first appointment of the day and that they would arrive promptly at 8:00 a.m. - instead he arrived 30 minutes late. It is cloudy out, I get it. (eyeroll) The technician did not even attempt to figure out the problem. He looked up the dryer, told me it was discontinued and told me the interface was no longer available, and suggested I needed to purchase a Speedqueen dryer. They are refunding my money for the diagnostic fee after my complaint but if they cannot vet their employees better than this guy, do not waste a moment of your time with this company. read more

My refrigerator was not cooling and I was able to get an appointment the next day. I was very impressed with Randy who checked out our regrigerator. In a shocking turn of events, they called this morning letting us know the wrong part came. The. Wrong. Part. For those of you keeping track, this marks the second time they have had the wrong part. Twice. I'm not angry anymore, or even disappointed. That part of me is dead inside. It died over the past two months of hand washing dishes. They said they would try to work with us to find a solution that would work. After over two months, I honestly don't know what to even think. Won't go into a long-winded story, but I hired them to fix a microwave. I paid in full. Turns out the fix didn't really take and I have the same issue. I imagine that my experience may be an isolated one where the technician didn't have the training or skills to fix the problem. I have to assume they do have good technicians as represented by some of the other reviews on yelp and elsewhere. My problem is not so much that the technician could not fix the problem, but the fact that the corporate office has repeatedly ignored my attempts to contact them. I am trying to like this company but I am a bit frustrated with their scheduling. My first call was Tuesday June 12th regarding an error code on my Whirlpool Duet Washer. A technician came out on Saturday June 16th (4 days later) and said we needed a new controller. I called on Monday and was told the part would arrive Thursday and a technician would be out on Friday (June 22nd -10 days later). When the technician arrived with the part and installed it the washer still did not work. The technician said the box that the part was in was opened and appeared to be returned and he believed the part was faulty. I called that day and spoke with a very nice woman (I think her name was Megan) and asked if it was possible to expedite the part since it was obvious that the part was bad. She said she would see what she could do and please call back on Monday. I called back on Monday and was told the part would be in Wednesday and I needed to call back then and to get on the schedule. Are you kidding me ? By the time I get on the schedule it will be 4 weeks without a washer and no guarantee the next part will work. The first person I spoke with on the phone and the technician Richard were very nice but this company obviously has some scheduling/management issues. If you need a quick resolution you need a different company. I wish I would have read these reviews before I went with my neighbors recommendation! Frustrated and tired of the laundry mat. read more

Once upon a time this company used to get the job done. But now... I just sent one of their techs home because he showed up at 12:57pm after they gave me a window of 9am to 1pm with a phone call from them a half hour prior to them showing up. They never called. I had to call them to find out what was up. I'm sick of these repair companies being so inconsiderate with their customer's time constraints. If you give me a 4 hour window I at least expect you to have the courtesy to allot sufficient time to diagnose the problem and maybe start the repair well before the last 3 minutes of the time window. I called The Appliance Doctor for two appliances in my house that were not working properly. On the call, I explained what the issues were, and got an appointment for a couple of days later. No mention was made of what it would cost for someone to walk into my house. The technician arrived, spent about 5 minutes looking at both appliances, and then went to sit in his truck for so long I started to think he'd just left. He came back in and told me that each appliance would cost about the same to fix it that it would to replace them. When I balked at that, I was told about 25% could be taken off the price reducing the labor costs. When I said that didn't make it worth it, I was informed the price of diagnosing the problem would be $127 for the two appliances. I made a mistake in not asking how much it would cost for someone to come out and do a 5 minute diagnosis without repairing a thing. But I hold them accountable too because for that cost, I think the person making the appointment should have mentioned the cost. At the suggestion of the technician I called the office to express that, and was met with indifference and an assurance that the women who take the appointments always tell people the cost. Not always ... because they didn't tell me! I don't think I would have been compelled to post of a review if I'd been treated with something better than indifference. I don't know whether or not they repair appliances well, because when you set prices to repair anything so high that it's better to simply replace them, you're going to replace them. So if you have a broken appliance and are considering calling, I think you should reconsider and just buy new appliances without paying so much to find out that's what you need to do! Editing my review to add: I replied to the response from Appliance Doctor below requesting I email to discuss further as soon as I saw the message. Three business days later I have seen no response to that email. Again, indifference to customer is not a strong business attribute. read more

These guys know their appliances! We got a lemon of a fridge, and Appliance Dr are the people to call! They're always on time, always prepared, and very nice to deal with. We had a tricky fix, and they came back as needed to tweak things, without charging me again for the same pain-in-the-butt issue. It was not their fault they had to come back. I'll call them anytime something needs fixing! And they gave my dogs lots of love too - over and above the call of duty:) Ruben is awesome, and so is everyone else there. I have used the Appliance Doctor a few time over many years, and almost cancelled my appointment after reading the reviews. Mike diagnosed that the lid switch was bad on my washer in about 10 seconds. Mike then schooled me on appliances while he was making the repair. Older machines with no electronic controls were built to last forever. (Like ours). New machines are designed to last 8 to 10 years, and parts are more expensive and are much more difficult to troubleshoot. I had already picked out the new washer & dryer I wanted before Mike arrived, but Mike convinced me I would never be able to find a machine as well built as the ones we have. read more

We won't use this company again... Appliance Doctor diagnosed a problem with our washing machine, ordered a new part, said he would be back a few days later to install. Unfortunately, the service guy who came to do the job was not the same man who diagnosed the problem. This new man immediately told us that we were mis-quoted by about $300 because it was a two-man job. Our response was "Oh, well, that's what was quoted, and that's what we're paying." Unfortunately, then, the second man on the job turned out to be one of us! During the repair the Appliance Doctor took apart the drum, which was gunked to high heaven, and stated that he didn't clean; that was our job. So, we took all parts outside and scrubbed. In the process the Appliance Doctor broke a part that kept the machine in balance while spinning. He said he would order it, and come back another day. (No washer until then.) Days passed. We finally pushed him to let us know where the part was, and went there this morning to purchase it ourselves. So the Appliance Doctor returned, again insisting on our help, and installed the part. It would have been nice if the repairman from Appliance Doctor wasn't so arrogant and negative, but it appears the job is complete. read more

In October of last year my dryer stopped heating. I called Appliance doctor and paid 195 dollars to have a part replaced. The dryer worked perfectly until about thirty days after the 90 day warranty ran out. Now four months later, I'm out of $200 and I'm stuck with a dryer that's not heating again. The WORST customer service I've ever experienced. First, I had an appointment scheduled for Friday. The Appliance Doctor called to cancel that and reschedule for Tuesday. An inconvenience but fine, whatever. Well today is Tuesday and someone was supposed to be at my house this morning to repair my refrigerator. First, no one showed up. Second, when I called The Appliance Doctor they said they called and no one answered so they moved on. I let them know I had no messages and I had been home all morning and no one came to my door. They basically called me a liar and said they don't make this shit up and said that they didn't come because I "didn't answer" the phone call. So not only did they NO SHOW my appointment, they didn't leave a message, try to call me again, or even attempt to reschedule. They provided NO SOLUTION. The customer service rep on the phone was blatantly rude, disrespectful, and outright called me and other customers a liar. What a way to go through life. Will not be doing business with this company. Finding another company as I type this now. Judging from the multiple awful reviews, I should have known. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BAD PEOPLE LIKE THE APPLIANCE DOCTOR. I recommend going to some customer service training to learn how to speak to and treat people that are offering to give you money. read more

Kori came out to service my *old school* whirlpool refrigerator this week and did an awesome job. He was very informative and honest about what he was doing and how much longer my fridge actually has. He was friendly, professional and had the work done in under an hour. I was pleased with this company too because their work is guaranteed for 30 days, so if my fridge goes out again in 30 days and I have to replace it, they will refund the money I paid in parts and labor.
