Hello all. Out shopping for home supplies and stopped at this Home Depot on Lane Ave and I wish I hadn't. Every employee that I passed looked like they were mad to be at work. Went in the carpet section and literally stood 15 minutes in front of the carpet while 2 employees stood on the other end having a conversation laughing and joking!! AFTER they finished there jokes one decided to come and ask did we need help!! By that time I was angry and walking off!! I will not return to the Angry Depot on Lane Ave again!! read more

First let me say that this Home Depot is very friendly and helpful, which is the reason for giving 5 Stars. However, one of their installation contractors is not so bright. I recently inquired about a tankless water heater with installation through Home Depot, and their service provider contacted me regarding the installation. After asking several questions about my 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom home, they concluded that no tankless water heater could meet my needs. They calculated my requirement at over 12 GPM based on the number of sinks, washing machines, showers, and tubs. I found this hard to believe and tried to reason with them, but they insisted that no unit could provide hot water for a home like mine. Under their theory or calculation, even a traditional water heater wouldn't work. I pointed out that if this were true, Home Depot wouldn't sell tankless water heaters at all. I then contacted the manufacturer of the tankless unit, who informed me they hear this complaint often and advised me to find a local plumber instead. read more

I purchased a portable air conditioner that was sold incomplete or possibly used. They didn't explain any return policy changes as I have been a credit card member for over 10 years. The night manager Bernie was rude, tried to offer me used leftover parts for a unit I paid for a new unit, she refused to have it it returned 19 hours over the pass the so called new 7 day policy that was not explained during my purchase. I called corporate just like she yelled for me to do and left my complaint and will dispute this fraudulent sold item! Florida law states they must explain return policies Bernie if you were not educated or were you educated to deceive customers? The Home Depot on lane ave is now a nightmare. With only self check out and seemingly teenagers as cash out support staff. It took me 25 minutes just to get a propane tank. The cash register didn't work l told the young man working that area he just walked away from me not assisting. I asked the young lady assisting she did put me on another cash register that worked then when l got outside to get the tank that system was down. I once again asked the young lady to assist of course she couldn't leave that area so she called her manager that was understandable assisting others so that took forever. After all of that frustration l did not know if l wanted to scream or curl up in a fetal position. It should not take all of that to make a single purchase. Great customer service at this location and every single employee I came into contact with was very helpful and friendly on my most recent visit. At least 6-8 staff members greeted me or ask me if I needed help. As a regular shopper, it is important to be acknowledged in such a big home improvement store. My cashier, Sandy, also helped me save $25 on my purchase by asking me if I wanted to apply for a Home Depot card. The application was fast and easy and I was approved! Who doesn't love the Home Depot. It has everything you need for home repair, upgrade and holiday decorations. Hubby and I were picking up 2by4's to help a girlfriend build a door to enclose her patio. I was named the Supervisors since I decided to wear flip flops. I had to stand by and guard the flat bed cart...lol. I did as I was told missing out on all the good pictures. I was able to capture the crew who has been working there so long that he became a skeleton...ha ha ha ha If you're working on home repairs, manacape jobs or she shed builds, then Home Depot on Lane Avenue is your place for all your needs. read more

Don't bother trying to get an online order filled efficiently at the Lane Avenue store because they can't EVER seem to fill an online order in under 3 or 4 hours if you're lucky. I place online orders to save time, but I typically have to cancel and place the order at a different location much further away because any other location doesn't have this problem! When I called today to ask what the hold up was, a customer service person at the store said that maybe the other locations have more people pulling orders and just kept telling me that there are hundreds of orders ahead of mine that I placed before 9:30 this morning....lol read more

Lots of stuff here. Friendly people for the most part. Sometimes it's hard to find an employee to help you but when you find one they're usually pretty helpful and friendly. They do a lot of business here. Garden center is extensive and for the most part they take care of their stuff well. Good Father's Day sale going on right now also If you keep your eye open you can get decent sales over the holidays with package deals for tools and they have all kind of stuff that you need to even things for your car You can special order almost anything you need and extra convene it is when you order your stuff online and just pick it up already pulled later. read more

Stopped by the carpet area today and there were 3 employees but they just disappeared & did not bother to help. If I could I'd give them a Zero star review. Ok, so let me start off by saying that I am by NO means a "Do-It-Yourselfer." However, for those odd-jobs that I CAN handle, Home Depot has always been there for me. I went there today in need of some light bulbs for my front and back porch lights...not just any regular bulbs, they had to be a distinct type. I found the light bulb aisle easy enough, the problem was that there were an infinite number of varieties to scan through. Yes, I should have seen this coming. Thankfully, a trusty Home Depot professional was nearby and in no time helped me locate the exact bulbs that I needed. I forgot to get his name (bad habit of mine), but he was very courteous and had a pleasant disposition. Next it was off to the lawn and garden section to find a new chair for my back porch and a spray trigger for my hose. Insert another Home Depot hero, ready to save the day. Thanks to him, I tracked both items down with ease, and was on my way. I noticed a few negative reviews about this location, but I've been coming here for over 5 years now and have never had an unfavorable experience, so to each his own, i guess. If retail was a perfect world, then Yelp would be overwhelmed with 5 star reviews. Honorable mention goes out to the hot dog stand located outside, which I can never seem to pass up. It's by no means gourmet dining, but the hot dogs are always fresh and made with your choice of toppings. Pair that with an ice cold soda and I'm good to go! My feelings for this particular store run on a love-hate basis. I like the store, it's usually on the clean side, well stocked, and does tend to be as organized as these types of stores can be. I do have a problem with the employees. The people who run the return desk and the cashiers tend to be friendly and helpful. The ones who work in the gardening center can be quite clueless and Google gives far better advice than they can. The employees in the rest of the store - if you can find one - well, it's a 50/50 chance on whether they can help you or not. For example, right before Hurricane Matthew, one employee was very helpful and went out of his way to lead me through the store to find something I was looking for and yet another refused to put down their phone to answer a simple question (which, thankfully the Home Depot app on my phone was able to do). Anyways, we do prefer this one over the other big box hardware store in the neighborhood and just hope the customer service improves a bit. read more

I love me some Home Depot. This one not so much. The location is nice, in terms of having to not deal with traffic and I can get to this location without having to jump on the interstate, especially the times when I have an overload of things in my truck bed and don't want it spilling everywhere. Any-who. I can never seem to find what I need when I come need. Not sure how their stock replenishment works here but I have to usually check the App before I go here to make sure they have what I want. Most of the time it's normal things like air filters, light bulbs or even screws. The one in OP will almost always have what I need in stock, but the traffic, it sucks. Customer service here is okay. Luckily I never need advice when I come to Home Depot thanks to good ole Google, but it can be a pain to find an associate to point you in the "right" direction. Again, it's better to use the App to navigate this place. read more

One visit under my tool belt. Some employees were super helpful, some were not. I have to agree with other reviewers that the Home & Garden section, although filled with gorgeous plants, was having an off day. I mean, not only could we not track anyone down, once we did, they were quite useless. However, we were very happy with the plants, soil, garden tools, etc. that we purchased. We felt the prices were reasonable for the quality. After a few days of potting and planting, our purchases are up to par! I found much more success with the employees working indoors. They escorted us down the correct aisles and really tried to assure us with a great experience. Maybe have these guys double down and man the Home & Garden section, too?! This specific Home Depot is the closest to me that I know of, so it'll turn into my regular jaunt for DIY projects. It's never a glamorous experience, but Home Depot gets the job done! read more

Just returned an item two minutes ago at the return desk and Cari was the employee who took the return. She was one of the least friendly people I've ever dealt with at this store (or any store), so much so that I'm standing here in the store writing this review. While she was processing my return, she even had to tell another employee that another customer may complain about her because she laughed at a group of customers trying to return something else and she may have come across rude. Cari didn't bother to even look at me once, tried to tell me at first that I needed a paper receipt instead of the online order receipt emailed to my phone, and then just processed the return and said absolutely nothing. Not what was wrong with the item, we're sorry about that, thanks for your business, nothing. Not sure why people like this continue to be employed here. read more

Terrible experience. Ordered a closet kit and got it home and it was missing a box. Took it back to store and ordered a new one. Got it home and tried to install it and it was missing pieces. Missed my opportunity to have my painter install it because of the first mistake. My brother took the day away from his business to install and couldn't because of 2nd mistake. So disappointed by this experience. Went to store and was told all management was in a meeting. Called online customer support and finally got a manager in store. Offered a pittance as compensation which is not nearly enough considering the time and stress involved in the whole situation. I used to not care between Home Depot and Lowe's, but after this I will not shop Home Depot again. Their values are not in the customer. read more

Today, I had the unpleasant experience of dealing with a lady that works next to where the vertical blinds are sold, I simply asked for help in a very respectful manner and her demeanor towards me was so belligerent as if to say: What do you want? then she said: What do you need? As opposed to good morning, sure, I can help you. Lucky for me the lady that was paged to help was the complete opposite in terms of how she treated me. Very nice and professional. So turns out that Home Depot does not honor their return policy on paint. I purchased a can of paint and 3 days later attempted to exchange (did not want to return). The policy says that they will exchange it for a comparable paint in any color as long as is it within 30 days and with receipt. Returns told me to ask paint section but said they probably wouldn't do it. Gentleman in the paint department told me to go back and ask returns/no one wanted to take responsibility and they disagreed with me when I read their exchange policy to them regarding paint. Very disappointing bc I would like to use the Behr brand but will be going to Lowe's for paint in the future. read more

May be some places Ace Hardware. What I like about Home depot is Tool Rental. If you don't have pick up truck or some power tools it's great to bu what you need and deliver on pick up truck. Main difference between stores is people who works in them. So I always try to get names and mention good employees vs not so much. Brian at pro desc liked to talk with me, with other clients while helping us, with everyone around us. While it was nice, process slowed down drummatically. On other hand girl named Cat was great. Shawn who is an Associate at the lumber department should not be working in this prestigious company. Either he is a Racist or just plain rude to everybody. I asked his help because I was looking for a 11/2x2x8 which I wanted for my fence. What he answered me was "I'm one in 2 thousand customers looking for a specific measurement and all I can do is get a 3x4x8 and cut it in half". He insulted me in the face. How easy it would have been if he told me that they do not carry such size. So I went to the customer service and filed a complaint. I spoke with the Manager of the lumber department and she promised me she is going to deal with it In a matter of fact way. But I doubt if she will call his attention and a reprimand. I am so upset because for the past 4 months I spent thousands of dollars buying all that is needed for building my rest house, patio and now for fencing my compound, only to be insulted by a racist Associate at Home Depot? me and my girl friend went looking for sinks, and we already had one in mind that we liked. when we got to the sink section, we could only find the sink we wanted on display, and not in a box to buy. so we asked Karen from the plumbing department for help. we waited a little while for help because she was dealing with something else, but after a couple of minutes she came over. she searched and searched for the sink we wanted, but there was issues with inventory. The sink we wanted was $149 and she grabbed one for $179, and told us she would mark it down for us. She also grabbed a $80 water faucet for the sink, and completely marked it down. She then proceeded to walk us to the front of the store, and assist us with checkout. read more

Honestly, I shop at Home Depot all the time and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. Let me also say that I shop at this particular Home Depot the most. With my current job I spend lots of time and money in HD. I have gotten use to people looking at me like I am lost looking for clothing and guitars in the store. But this time takes the cake. I did go on a Sunday afternoon, so maybe that was the reason. I don't always use items in the way that they were designed to be used, I think a little out side of the box. I guess today the guy who was helping me with the poly thought that he should inform me on what it does and does not do. I am very well aware of what it does and does not do, and yes I think a 3 step epoxy is going to work great on fabric... Just let me do my thing and you help me find the materials. Which brings me to the second part of my fun "quick trip". I was also getting sheets of lumber and wanting them ripped (cut down the middle). The individual helping well... We will just leave it at him not helping that well. Honestly, I love HD it was better than that other "blue" hardware store. Maybe just don't go on Sunday afternoon. read more
