This is a convenient Home Depot. It is a bit newer than others in town so it feels a bit brighter and cleaner. The staff are usually very nice but it can be hard to find help sometimes. I can usually find what I need though. My favorite thing about Home Depot is that every first Saturday they have a kids workshop where kids can build some type of project and paint it. It is completely free and the staff are always plentiful and kind. My nephew loves it when he is here in the summer. I also enjoy that they put the event inside usually near the lumber so that we do not have to be out in the heat like some stores. read more

So done with buying anything here. Made quite a large purchase - 3 appliances. Waited weeks for the delivery, received two confirmation calls of the delivery. Made sure my phone was switched on for the 7 AM to 11 AM delivery never got a call, my doorbell never rang so at 7:45 am a Message pops up on my phone that they called me and couldn't get a hold of me so skipped my delivery. Since when do you make a major purchase and the delivery man doesn't come and ring your doorbell? When I called dispatch she said the notes read they pulled up outside my house called and it went right to voicemail that both cars were in the driveway but there was no answer on the phone. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????? How bout ringing the doorbell??? Called and spoke with an assistant store manager who tells me that's policy which again I reiterated after spending what I spent they should really tell you that their delivery drivers are too lazy to get out of their truck and ring your doorbell for a good faith delivery attempt and will only call you and if you live in an area with poor cell reception you're out of luck. Had I been told when I purchased and was given all the delivery instructions that they only call you - they don't come knock at your door to make an actual delivery - I would've made sure there were notes making sure they acted like a real company and knock on the door. Is this what we've come to? Mason, the assistant store manager seems to believe so. They did come back out to deliver a damaged refrigerator, couldn't install my microwave because of "a stripped screw" when in reality they just didn't want to. What a joke. Though I do not recall his first name, he was most helpful in helping me identify the type of coating I needed from my sunroom roof. Though he worked in gardening, he walked to the complete opposite end of the store to show me the various types and review which would be the best opportunity for me. Well I come to this location all the time this time I was looking for Rv. Stuff sewer hoses chemicals yada yada yada. You know that stuff. Well I can't find it anywhere in the store. So I run a round looking for the elusive employee you know they're never around. Lo and behold I find the elusive employee that was not an employee but a vendor. She ran around trying to help me find The elusive employee but nothing. I went to the service desk after 15 min of looking for someone (time is relevant what I was actually doing). But they told me to got to the lawn and garden I'm thinking great someone knows!! Well I get to Barton and they tell me they have no idea what I'm talking about. Please go to hardware that you know all of this stuff. Off the hardware I go looking for that elusive employee not to be found anywhere. Bought a dishwasher they gave us multiple excuses why they could not put it in one was the tile was higher than the legs mind you the legs are adjustable with a wrench. They all have it. I ordered French doors to be installed back in October 2022, took 6 weeks or so to get their contractor to come out to measure. then in November before thanksgiving, they came to install door. they did a dry fit and noticed the doors wouldn't close, 1/4 inch too small of a frame. here it is mid February 2023 and they said now it will be March 3rd. paid over 5,000.00 for these doors. should have went with an independent small business. it's been 6 months and I still don't have my doors. not sure if the next visit will be the true install with no issues or a disaster. will try to update with final outcome. read more

I've really appreciated the military discount that you've offered for the entire 16 years that I've been a military spouse, but I'm really disappointed at your new verification process. I'm not sure why my government-issued, hard-to-duplicate military ID is not good enough in the store to honor the discount. Instead, I have to download an app and not only give Home Depot my personal information, but also a third party verification service. Not cool. This is one more step away from giving actual in-person customer service to your customers while in the store. I think I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

This location is becoming less of enjoyable each time we go. It is our neighborhood Home Depot, so it is our first choice. The fact that there are always multiple clerks watching customers check out of the self checkout lane instead of actually opening a line is the first problem. And I always seem to forget that until it's time to checkout. But the most recent incident is quite pathetic. On Sunday, 12/11/22, we did an online order thru the app for curbside pickup at around 530ish. We received a text that our order was ready at 622pm. We get to the store and see 3 employees outside smoking and talking and asked where the curbside pick up was. They told us where is was and what to do. We go park at the sign and call the # as instructed. A young man answers and asks someone for assistance with handling the call. He verifies our name, order # and color/type vehicle and says he'll be right out with the order. This was about 650pm. At 704pm we get a call from the rudest chic to ever be at this store. She says "Yes, you just called about your curbside order and I'm letting you know curbside closed at 630 and the store closed at 7 tonight." We ask "how are you closed when 1-we got a text that it was ready for pickup & 2-we JUST spoke with the guy who said he was bringing it out." She replied that "we close at 7 tonight, sorry". We reiterate that you close at 8 & she insists that tonight we closed at 7 not 8. Ok fine, but we are here and we need our order. She continued to go back and forth saying they were closed so we asked for the manager. She gets the manager and he says the same thing. "We closed at 7, dah dah dah dah dah". We again say how can you close in the middle of a transaction? We just spoke to someone who said he was bringing it out and now you say you're closed. He gets huffy and short tempered and say "just come in the store and we'll get your order for you". Once in the store there is the manager and lil miss rude ass standing there kee keeing and laughing and they get a young man to bring the order out. The young man brings the order to the car and says that they are having a party tonight that's why they closed early!!! So you mean to tell me some dry chicken wings, burnt cookies and spiked egg nog is worth closing the store an hour early? AND dismissing a transaction mid-stream? What kind of manager would cosign such poor customer service? I know what kind... the kind that must be screwing lil miss rude ass and trying to be impressive. This was the worst customer service ever experienced. And I'm sure this closure was not an approved measure. I saw customers get turned away for the entire time we were waiting for our order to get brought out. EVERYONE said "I thought you close at 8" only to hear "normally, but tonight we closed at 7 for a work thing". I know they lost more than that party was worth!!! Lazy employees. You can never find help. Most employees are sitting around talking to each other. If they see you need help, they scatter. I have never seen a bunch of lazy employees in my life. I am a 54 year old women and had to lift four 8 foot wood fence posts myself with employees watching me. When I complained to male cashier at self check out he stated, "Well I can save you 25% today if you would like. Just apply for Home Depot credit card." I stated no. No mans section of the store! I've been in here twice today to get blinds cut and BOTH times finding someone to do the task is a nightmare! First time they had a 60 year old woman and myself wait 30 min before anyone came to cut our blinds. I had to leave and go find a manager before 6 employees magically appeared to help us both. The next time i came in a man with long beard nastily said that he would be with me next... 10 min later.. I'm typing this and still waiting. Message body A few days ago our LG above range microwave failed after only being in service two years. Having bought it at Lowe's I decided to give Home Depot a try as the Oakleaf Store here in Jacksonville was closer. I've done some business there before but not as of late. I do however follow the veterans pages on facebook and a lot of veterans don't speak highly of this company; after what I just experienced, I understand why. I came in and went to appliances and there was no one there? Walked around about five minutes and still no associate available. So, I went back to the front and stood momentarily by the customer service desk; three associates present all engaged in talking to each other. I then went to a self help register and requested assistance. The cashier was sure how to get someone there. So I walked to appliances again and sat down in a chair that was there. After a couple more minutes I heard the intercom request assistance in appliances. After another three or four minutes an associate materialized. By this time I'd been waiting almost 15 minutes for assistance. The associate was helpful and in short order I'd selected a microwave and she was initiating the paperwork; this is when the "fun" started. She informed me the install would be an additional $110.00 which I agreed to. I then showed my military ID and asked for a military discount in which she stated, "wasn't allowed." She then explained the installer would bring the unit with them at the time of installation. She then informed me that since the microwave was less than $300.00, there was a $59.00 delivery fee? I started laughing and I said, "why am I paying you a delivery fee when the installer is bringing it with them?" She had no explanation. She then asked if I wanted the defective unit disposed of in which I said, "yes." That's when she stated it would be an additional $20.00! To recap; $370.00 for the microwave, $110.00 for the installation, $59.00 for delivery in which the installer brings the unit, $20.00 to dispose of the old unit and a military discount was forbidden. I then requested to speak with a manager; and for the record, I was being very civil about the entire matter. In about two minutes a manager showed up and I asked about the military discount and he said, " the product is already discounted and we don't double discount." My reply was, "None of this makes sense, and since Lowe's has no problem giving a military discount, I'll take this business and all future business to them." The manager said, "ok!" And was so indifferent about the matter that it was incredulous; he gave less that a damn. Went to Lowe's and bought the identical item that was already on sale; I was given an additional military discount, not charged either a delivery or disposal fee. The installation was the same as theirs @ $110.00. Although I had no previous issues with Home Depot, I understand why veterans have issues with them. After this incident, so do I. read more

I went into the store to purchase new french doors for my patio. They scheduled a measurement. My husband and I have gone into the store multiple times over the past month asking to purchase a door based on their measurements. Each time we were told the measurements are not in the system yet. We have asked for them to call the contractor. They ask us for the name of the contractor THEY sent out. We cancelled and will go elsewhere. Clearly they take customers for granted. I have always shopped this Home Depot with no issues til they offered me 25.00 off if I got a Home Depot credit card !!! Long story short.... their offer is DECEPTIVE! I bought pressure washer for 99.00 and two other items which I didn't need so returned. The 25.00 was prorated between the 3 items so in fact I did not get 25.00 but just 19.75. It clearly states on agreement 25.00 off for item(s) 0-99.00. Had I purchased just the pressure washer I would have gotten 25.00 in full. They either blatantly lied or practicing deception. This Home Depot is laid out nearly identical to most other locations so the store will be very familiar to those who frequent other locations. I do most of my shopping here in the garden section since there isn't a good nursery near me that I'm aware of. Most of my trips are in and out but it seems like the staff at this location isn't extremely helpful and don't seem to know their products very well in the garden center. If you want specific information about what vegetables grow where, etc, then this isn't the place to ask. Google will provide you with much more helpful info. They also don't seem to know the location of many of their products which is disheartening if you're looking for a specific item. They probably have it but you might spend some time looking.... read more

The store has very poor signage in the paint area as to where to place an order and where to pick up paint and the staff does not communicate very well! I give a 2 star rating only because they had in stock the item I was looking for. I made 3 trips in the store getting garden supplies for my spring projects not once did anyone say anything to me, no greeting, no "can I help you", are you finding everything ok. I was lifting heavy garden stones and decorative rock 100 stones and 50 bags of rocks in 3 trips not one time did anyone lift a finger to help. Store employees made eye contact, and hurried away like they saw a ghost. The guy at the check out scanned each bag of rocks instead of hitting QTY. 50 then scanning, I asked him why and he just laughed and said he was new and did not know how to use the register. I exchanged a propane tank and that was like mind blowing for them, took 15 min, to get my full tank. I am a loyal home depot customer but after today I may drive a little further for quality customer service at Lowes. p.s. I take the 2 star back ! Star is all they deserve for neglect. read more

Tried to return a Ridgid Planer today that was defective. The extremely RUDE Customer Service Rep at returns asked for a receipt - my bad - I didn't have one. My builder and I were in the flooring department today around 1:00pm. We were having trouble trying to find some additional cases of tile. We asked one of the associates in the area for assistance and he basically left us standing there in mid sentence and had no desire to help us. Then, my builder and I approached the desk across from the area we had found the tile and were met with a smile and an; "How may I help you?" The name behind this smile was a gentleman named Lenox. Lenox exemplified exactly what customer service should be in a retail home improvement store. He took the time to actually help us and load up the additional tile in our cart. I want HomeDepot to know, it is only resources like Lenox that will keep your customers coming back. I would recommend that you praise him for doing what was right. read more

people are helpful most of the time, but what has made me a Lowes man is the inconsistency w/ the veterans discount they offer. I was checking out w/ a lawn mower {$399.99), and a $15 gas can. On more than 1 occasion, at this location has accepted my VA card for a 10% discount. On this $400 occasion they said I need a service connected stamp. So I went to Lowes spent my $400 - $40, & will not be going back to Home depot. In the last year I have spent well over $1000 w/H, but from now I will drive the few extra miles to do business elsewhere. Sucks for them I own 2 homes. read more

While in store was asked to answer a short survey about our water. Told the girl we had a new water softener, and we're happy with our water quality. She said someone would call us if we won something. A day or so later, we started getting calls from A & B Marketing in Jacksonville. I answered the third call. They wanted to sell me a new water softener, to replace my new ( 1 month old water softener). I said no. Within two hours I got another call from A & B about the same thing. We come to this location a lot as it is less than a mile from our house. For the most part, I feel that all Home Depots are the same but today I wanted to write a review based on the customer service we received. Most of the time I don't need any help but it never fails that on the few occasions I do, there is no one in sight. Today, we had already made our purchase and we're getting ready to load up the good truck when we were approached by Jerry. We had a large 8x4 board that we needed to put into our Trail Blazer and he asked if we needed any help. Most of the time we would have probably said no, but today my boyfriend said yes so I wouldn't have to lift the board. They tried to get it in the back with the seats down but the board was too long so they had to go with tying it to the roof. We didn't have any rope so Paul asked Jerry if they had anything we could use and he said yes and that he would go grab some. We felt bad because he had to walk all the way down to opposite side of the HD to get some twine and come back. He helped My BF successfully tie the board to the roof of our vehicle so we could safely get the board him. It was very nice of him to go out of his was to assist us. I just spent 1.5 hours of my time picking out items I needed for a large home improvement job. I go to the front of the store to pay for my items and find FOUR cash registers open that are all self checkout and that is all that is open. I asked the employee that was helping self check customers if that was the only ones open and she said "yes, that is the way we do it". I replied u am not going to stand and try and ring the stuff up, I will just go to "LOWES" and they will take my money. I should also tell you I only had a few items that were packaged with a bar code most of the items were various size bolts, nuts, waders and lock washers that have no bar code and there was nothing in the aisle to write down codes like they do at "LOWES". I am not lazy but I didn't see any way for me to do it. I stopped at the service desk and asked for a manager and one of the THREE employees standing there said they could TRY and find me one. I just told her to let the manager know I didn't need the buggy full because no one was there to ring it up and she said they could try and find someone! Really?? I replied can I just get the home office number and she said 1 800 Home Depot. Really? I am pissed and you can't write it down. I am just sorry I can't give less than one star. I shop at this Home depot location on the weekly basis. I went into the garden department to look at the Hibiscus plants. While picking up one of the plants, I WAS ATTACKED BY FIRE ANTS! Because I have a "fatal" allergic reaction to fire ants, I quickly went to customer service to notify them of the incident! The lady at the customer service desk tried very hard to contact the manager who blew her off because he was with a customer. I made her quite aware of my fatal allergic reaction to fire ants so she was trying all she could do to get her to come to the customer service. I was finally sent to a room where I filled out a one page form an gave to the manager and was told someone would be contacting me within 24 hours. Someone contacted me within 24 hours as informed.. From there, it was downhill......each time I had to contact their insurance company. To date, there has been no resolution, mind you, this happened in August! I do not understand how Home Depot does not take responsibility for their customers! With ALL the money they make off customers, they should give OUTSTANDING customer service with EVERY situation! I have not even received a follow-up call from Home Depot to see how I am doing or whether the issue has been resolved! Since the initial call, I have been dealing with their insurance company who appears to not care at all about the fact that I was in the emergency room for over 4 hours and now have a big emergency room bill that is almost two months old that they should have paid off within the first month of the incident! They know this incident happened in their store! THIS IS RIDICULOUS AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!
