Went to Home depot,92-30 168th street, today (7/5/25) to look at shower heads, in plumbing. While discussing whats best for us, an employee (female African/ Jamaica American) walked over and said "3 grown men standing over there not knowing what they doing", instead of helping us. My dad is disabled, That lady was disgusting and disrespectful. We know what we are doing, we were just looking at the products. I used to love this store and gave it a good reviews in the past. I spoke to the manager at the time, he apologized, but i don't think anything will be done. I'll contact corporate. read more

Recently I was at this particular home depot location. And i was buying some paint supplies for my home.I was approach by a man name mister Lopez, he was a day laborer out side the home depot. He gave me his business card.he told me he could paint ,so I said cool I will contact you later. So I contacted mr Lopez and told him I needed him to do some work for me ,he agreed and told me $145.00 for the day 8 hours .so I asked him does he do carpentry work. He said he did,alright I thought he was straight up. But he turned out to be a fraud. I met up with this guy so he can do some painting for me and some other work .It was just supposed to be him,I told him over the phone one person. I get to the home depot to pick him up,he is there with his wife asking me to pay her also for work .$145.00 for both of them for one bedroom and curio cabinet setup. I told him that's crazy ,I waisted my time and money going to pick this person up and he was running a scam. Then after he refused the job him and this woman ran away from me.be aware of this man mr Lopez who walks around the home depot handing business cards ,and looking for work he cant be trusted up there at this particular home depot location. read more

Got the wrong paint, I needed High Gloss Enamel paint to match a sample I wanted to paint, a Guyanese worker gave me molasses black and didn't even open the lid to check the paint color, now I found out I can't return it since days passed even though I work a lot and have time to get things done. Terrible customer service, a worker said I cannot return the paint for an exchange to get the right paint color I asked for on November 1st, 2024. I am very annoyed and distressed with this, even my time is wasted today for what I wanted to get done. I am not sure why management hires people who do not know how to perform customer service when needed but they are doing a terrible job at it. read more

This Home Depot is in downtown Jamaica where real estate is at a premium, so it isn't a sprawling million square foot store like in the suburbs. The store itself is very compact (re: small), but has most of what you would normally find at other Home Depots. It is not as tiny as the ones in Manhattan, so you can still get raw materials like wood, concrete, plumbing and electrical. Just don't expect a full outdoor garden center here, though they do have some stuff up on the roof. I also wouldn't want to shop for major appliances here. There is a drive-up area where you can mix it up with the contractors to pick up bulky items. But if you want to park your vehicle, you have to drive up the ramp to the roof. There are 2 freight-sized elevators and sometimes working escalators to get you down to the main floor and your purchases back up to your car. I guess I've been lucky each time I've shopped here and found what I needed. The sales people have been helpful and available in most departments. But it does get busy here because a lot of local contractors come here all day, every day of the week. Once or twice the line to pay stretched through the store and I just left and came back another day. It probably pays to come here later after the construction workers have knocked off for the day. This is the nearest Home Depot to my house, so I've even tried walking the 2 miles to get here, just for the exercise, if I needed to pick up something small. I noticed a lot of guys just hanging around the driveway area and realized they are migrant day laborers looking to be picked up for random jobs, like an unofficial employment agency. read more

Absolutely a bad place to shop. Staff is never around and when they come they do not know where to direct you nor are familiar with the product! They are not properly trained, They are just bodies! This afternoon i purchased a large appliance, i called the appliance department at 6:45 to make sure one of the items was the proper voltage, was told that the person working at that depmnt was OUT TO LUNCH! that i should call in an hour!!! So if you are there to purchase something, there is nobody to sell? There is only one person ? No cover up? Customer should wait one hour to make a purchase? Walked in, asked the greeter where the flashlights were. Greeter at th front said check the hardware section, or check the areas around the cash register. I looked and looked, and no where to be found. I asked a guy stocking the shelves, he said look around the lighting area...still I went and nothing was found. I left empty handed. This home depot is huge, so huge that even the staff doesn't know where everything is. If you can find stuff, its a good place to get materials for a project. read more

Home Depot is the epitome of "tools & project" heaven. Although I don't frequent this place regularly I never have an issue if I happen to drop in. Previous reviewers complained about the staff being rude but the woman we encountered on Sunday night at the entrance was nice. She answered our questions, directed us where we needed to go & was polite. I guess it all depends on the day & time that you go. We came here for either flowers or a plant. They have a nice selection of plants. Instantly I wanted to become a gardner. Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating. I don't have the patience & I have a bad knee but they were absolutely beautiful. The downside is that there's no one in the aisles to assist you should you need anything or have any questions. read more

There's parking available on the lower level right in front of the store, but due to the few spaces & this store usually being crowded (at least whenever I've gone) more than likely you'll have to park on the upper level, unless you get a spot as someone is leaving on the lower level. The store has always been pretty organized when I've gone & if your needing help, there's usually a staff associate not too far away. Right now my biggest concern is the bag situation with this store. As my fellow NYers know originally there was a plastic bag ban put into effect as of March 1st 2020, however Covid19 happened around mid March & it was extended til June 15th, however this Home Depot isn't giving out any bags. You have to have your own, or pay for a bag. I had a supermarket that I frequent tell me they got rid of all their bags preparing for March 1st, however since it was extended, they ordered plastic bags. I think any store location having customers pay for a bag, especially during this time with a pandemic happening is just ridiculous. We have to remember things we always needed to remember such as keys, phone & now we have to remember mask, gloves & on top of that a bag(s) when going to the store. The bag should be the least of our concerns during this time, which is why it was likely extended until June. Stores not providing bags such as this is Home Depot, I think it's just to get more money, which is a unethical practice at any given time, but particularly during this time. read more

I must say that I really like The Home Depot at this location in Jamaica, Queens. For starters it is close by my home and they always have what I need in stock without having to order online. Located right in the heart of Jamaica Avenue makes finding this particular Home Depot a breeze. During my most recent visit I just needed to pick up a large spray bottle for my routine house cleaning duties. Just to mention, I have purchased about two large spray bottles from here prior to my last purchase at different times of need. Each bottle, however, kept breaking at the top part where it screws on. I really believe that I am overfilling them with diluted solution because each bottle does have a fill limit capacity. Please take note of that if ever considering buying a spray bottle from here of any brand. I found a bottle with a more secure and thicker screw top so this should fix the problem of breakage at the top... yayy finally I can hopefully stop buying one every 3 months or so right? The Home Depot itself particularly this location is very organized and always seem to have a wide selection available of in store merchandise. The staff are always on point and super helpful if you find yourself going in circles not knowing what isle or area to find whatever you need. Be prepared for the line to go really quick especially since Covid because the self checkout is so convenient. They do have associates assisting each customer on when to checkout next which makes the line go smooth and extremely quick. Oh, they also have a huge parking lot garage in the upper level, so no need to worry because if you don't already know,it is close to impossible to find parking on Jamaica Avenue. This Home Depot is a definite go to if you need optional variety for all your home necessities. With good location, helpful customer service and fast checkout you are bound to come back. read more

The lady appear in her mid 50s was sitting down when the employee servicing us asked for a hand truck to carry a large heavy Item, the lady would not get up and instead told us to pick up and place it in a cart,she was very rude and use foul language. Decent Home Depot with parking. It's the closest Home Depot I can get to within walking distance after work. The entrance is a bit confusing because the store blocks off the front entrance so that people would enter and exit at the exit area. I don't think this location is too well known since it's not too crowded, but it's definitely well stocked. The employees are very helpful. I have found my shoe glue, ant traps, dust mite spray all in this Home Depot. They even have the Febreze Allergen Spray (couldn't find it anywhere in Flushing). There's also self-checkout here if you're just buying a few items. read more

Be careful what you order from Home Depot. We ordered online a through the wall air conditioner at a cost of over $1,000. There was no indication that the wall sleeve was not included. We then tried to order it separately. After much confusion we were able to order it. The order was cancelled the same day with no reason. Ordered again - same thing. It turned out they did not have the sleeve. We want to return the air conditioner since it cannot be installed. Home Depot refuses to return it. We have a very nice air conditioner sitting on our living room floor. I hope it does not get hot this summer! read more

People remark this is the smallest Home Depot but actually that would be the one on Flatbush avenue. This Home Depot has a double decker parking lot, better parking and larger than Flatbush Home Depot. The employees seem nice and eager to help. There's one significant problem with this Home Depot, however. It is deceptively ill-stocked. It looks orderly and well stocked, but it lacks certain vital items. I was looking for ten foot plastic corner beads and they have no corner beads in plastic. Not ten or eight foot. Only bullnose and L trim. It strongly looks to me like they haven't stocked any of the conventional corner beads for a long time. That's just not acceptable. It's a vital piece of material for any renovation. I'm very disappointed with this stores failure to stock even basic items. I hope I'm never in a position to even consider going here again. read more

Thankfully I live near this Home Depot, however, there is much to be desired. The best part about this place is that there's a big parking lot, and in a busy area like Jamaica Ave, this is very important. However, customer service is severely lacking. I was actually working on a DIY wooden block project; on 3 previous instances, I've gone to the Home Depot in Midtown, bought a wooden beam, and asked a sales associate to cut it into equal sized blocks. Usually, I was met with some "wtf" stares and a bit of resistance, but with a fair amount of pleaseeeee's and smiles, they were able to do it for me (with the use of a power tool of course). I had gotten the blocks cut for me at that location, but turns out I was short a few pieces for my photo puzzle. I had no time to go to Midtown, so I visited this location and asked a couple sales associates if they can chop up another wooden beam. They just flat out said no, and said that the pieces have to be at least 12x12. Not sure if that's an actual rule, because my blocks were less than 2x2. I kindly told them that I had done this before at the Midtown location, to which they just shrugged it off and said sorry, no can do. I'm quite certain that they could've done it...they just didn't want to. Very disappointing experience. Fortunately, I found out my boyfriend's brother-in-law's father has a wood shop, so thankfully that saved me an unnecessary trip to the Midtown location! read more

Trying to find a store employee to ask for assistance is like playing "Where's Waldo". They are hard to find. Once you find one though, they are usually helpful. The pick-up counter for online purchases is the worst. I was there to pick up a package recently, there were employees standing behind the counter, around the counter, in front of the counter, but no one would acknowledge the line of people waiting to pick up their pre-paid packages. I guess they figured they already have our money, so we can wait. If one employee would have had the good graces to say "we will be with you", that would have gone a long way. And don't bother to try to call the store to get information. No one answers the phones. read more

I stopped in on a blistering, cold day to pick up just a couple of household items that I needed to replace. I ran out in the middle of use and needed to restock immediately. It was a holiday - I was off from work, but I was glad that this location was open for business. I was happy to be helped by an associate almost immediately near the aisle where I needed to be. He was able to provide some feedback on the differences between two products and left me to make the decision without hovering. I headed to the self-checkout lane and was on my way. Hopefully the doors on both sides of the parking lot on the upper level will be open so that I don't have to stay outside longer than I need to in the cold! read more

If I could write 0 stars I would. This has to be the most rudest, unprofessional Home Depot is queens probably the 5 boroughs.... Let me explain this story so I don't sound like I'm crazy or over reacting. My old landlord lost the key to the lock to his garage that stored some of my things. I told him don't worry I'll go by a bolt cutter little did I know these things are banned in nyc stores I guess. So I go to the isle after looking for 10 mins or so find them in a locked closet with the can't sell to 18 years or younger note. Im thinking it's probably more dangerous to sell the chemicals, the nail guns, etc tool but not the bolt cutter lol. So I ignore this thought find a worker which took about 5 mins find him we go back he open the closest I grab the bolt cutter I walk to the front the bolt cutter has no skew just my luck so she panics like she doesn't know what to do. I asked you can't use your Home Depot device and look up the skew and she looks at me like I'm crazy I'm looking back at her she said can I go back and grab another one I go back and grab another one after I told the last worker what happened he said no problem I grab another one. I go to the customer service this time to save time. 5 or 6 people are working none of them look at me acknowledge me or nothing. So I'm just standing there looking dumb I start cough one lady looks at me and say have you been helped. I started to say I been standing here 7 or so minutes does it look like I been helped. I walk up I told the male worker my issue he grab the bolt cutter says sarcastic this has spray paint on it, it's for the store only we don't sell bolt cutters. I asked him again because I didn't understand what he said he said check isle 14 for more cutters I was just there with another worker I walk back there to try my luck. Nobody is there I walk around I find another person he call up to the speaker help on 14. I walk back nobody comes I'm like I'm good bump this I leave. The absolute WORST service I have ever seen in a Home Depot, considering the pandemic I understand it is a hard time. My company comes to home depot every single day for material and this is the first Home Depot I was not only disrespected by an employee but it took us 12 employees to help get what we needed, one hand off to another until no one knew what to do (very simple material not to mention). While employees just stood around doing absolutely nothing. I am astonished this Home Depot is even open after experiencing what we just had. I cannot even give this place a star rating because they absolutely do not deserve it. The Home Depot company should really reconsider reevaluating this location completely. I manage a garden in Jamaica. It is a very busy time for us. We depend on our local Home Depot at 168th Street in Jamaica to provide us with necessary items to manage our garden. I was disappointed with the lack of communication from the store. I arrived after work at 9pm to purchase some things for our garden. I was informed by the Manager Damian that the garden center closes at 8pm. No where on the website or even written around the store does it say that the garden section closes at 8pm. He proceeded to tell me that the store manager says that they have to close the garden center at 8pm. It would be nice if that was expressed on the website since I drove down there thinking it would close at 10pm with the rest of the store. This is the spring which is the busiest time for gardeners. Why would you close the garden center 2 hours before the store? Why would you not post any signs? I do not feel good about this and have been to your store many times with negative experiences. Mainly it is from staff that seem bothered or disinterested with helping customers. Not everyone but many staff members. There are a few gems but they are outnumbered by negative workers. I have a lot more items to purchase for the garden but refuse to spend my money where I am unappreciated. I would rather travel to Lowe's which is much further away than feel negative when I come into your Jamaica location. I told the Manager Damian that I will let corporate know about the store closing the garden center at 8pm without posting anything online or in the store about it and he says "Go ahead. A million people complain everyday." Really. So many people complain and corporate is not interested in fixing these issues. I am disappointed. read more

The customer service here is so bad it's unbelievable. I came here THREE days to just order some shades. First time, they said they were leaving so I would have to come back tomorrow. The day after, they couldn't find the color. Today we asked someone and they paged someone else to come help. No one came for about 5 minutes and another employee was passing so we asked them and once again, they paged someone to come. AGAIN no one came. I had made a purchase online but was sent the wrong product. The order receipt clearly said that the easiest option to return or get a refund was to go to the store directly. When I went to this store location, one of the associates was unwilling to help me and told me to call the number on the receipt instead. He said I had to call them because I had made the purchase online and he couldn't do anything before I call. Fortunately, I called right away while I was at the store, and the associate on the phone told me they in fact could help me directly at the store and he asked to speak such unwilling associate, but he refused to speak to him to solve the problem. He was rude when I asked him for his name and gave me a little attitude when I told him the phone associate wanted to speak to his manager. The phone associate had to call the store manager and have him communicate trough the store phone so that he would accept to help me with my return. Finally, he had to do the return but there was no eye contact and felt as if we were forcing him to do his job. This was outrageous. I pretty much had to call another worker for him to tell him to do his job because he didn't have the will to help me. I felt the vibe of unwillingness to accept my return since the beginning. This store needs needs to desperately train their staff on how to treat their costumers and how to interact with people. He said "I don't know look in another aisle in a really disgusting attitude, he didn't even looked at me. I was looking for a screwdriver as well and he came to the same spot I was. He was throwing some items in the cart he had, the items flew right in front of my face to the cart. He did not care nor did I receive any apology. This place is horrible. If it wasn't for convenience of location I wouldn't even bother coming here. The elevator is always broken. The escalator is always broken. The express checkout lanes always have issues and usually only one or two are working. The day laborers and aggressive scary van loaders in the front keep you spooked.
