Things are different now, a number of popular eateries are practically neighbors, a brand new luxury apartment building came just last year, and the gentrification of this area is seeing more and more residents flocking here every week. One thing noticeable right away is how big this building is. Most places in the neighborhood rely exclusively on street parking, but this PC Richard & Son has its own spacious parking lot. If people aren't parking, then they're walking from the train station, which is only a couple of blocks away. Inside there are a number of eager associates that are interested in helping anyone and everyone (#2) find what they need. Having dropped by for random things from microwaves to AC units to cords, I've always been approached by someone new practically every time. It might feel somewhat overwhelming for new patrons, but I've come to expect this sort of stuff. Unfortunately, the biggest plight that this location faces is usually the location. Not all the associates are going to be patient and informative, some feel like they're rushing folks without paying much attention to their needs. Prices are on par with appliance / furniture store, so things can go into $$$$ territory real quick. There are deals practically every season and a ton of promotion during their slow months. Do not bother purchasing an appliance or worst their extended warranty, waste of time and money. I bought a Samsung refrigerator on September 16, 2023, the refrigerator broke down one year and a month to be exact, we called the service department on Saturday, October 19, 2024 and the service department said that their repair service will be there on Thursday, October 31, 2024, which we thought would be a long time to wait, they suggested we get a loaner, which we have to pay and P.C. Richards will reimburse us once our refrigerator gets repaired or replaced. We did not want to wait that long and went to the store in Woodside, Queens, on Sunday, October 20, 2024, where we originally purchased from. We spoke with Solomon who is the general manager, he was able to bump up our date for repair to Thursday, October 24, 2024, we did get a loaner that was delivered on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, now we have two refrigerators taking up space and electricity. The repair man came on Thursday, October 24, 2024 and said it might need gas, they said it can take a week for someone else to come and put gas on it, if by putting gas still does not work, they will have to figure out if it needs any other parts or just replace it. On Friday, October 25, 2024, I called to find out if they had an estimate as to when someone would come to repair the refrigerator, according to them, there was no records showing that the repair man showed up on October 25, 2024, these people are clueless and unprofessional, every time my husband and I called, they were very clueless and seem to be no help, at the service department we spoke to Mike, Pauline, Priscilla, Vianka, Angie and many more, we tried to get a supervisor up to no avail and told us a supervisor will call us back, but they never did, on Saturday, October 26, 2024, the service department still did not get it together, later on that day we received a email that the part (s) required to complete the repair are expected to be received into their parts distributor around Monday, November 4, 2024, that is not saying they will come to our home for repair, mind you a repair guy was supposed to come and put gas on it, so what part(s) are they talking about. We called again on Monday, October 28, 2024, same thing, I don't know what happened to P.C. Richards, they used to be reliable and they never had you wait no more than three days after you called for service, nobody cares anymore, you're basically on your own doing their work. I got a Sealy mattress here, when I was moving from NJ to Queens, and the whole process was the BEST! Mizan was my salesman, and he was so outgoing and friendly, all while being very honest, polite, and happy to give me time/space to think it over. It was back in October when I got this done, but I still remember laughing and weighing the different options with him. I remember he told me about an incredible deal for the Sealy mattress, and I got it, and it's SO COMFY! One of my favorite purchases ever! I tried other mattress options in the area like the Mattress Firm but they were WAY overpriced in comparison. They delivered this all the way to my NJ home (probably an hour out of Queens) in a few days. I paid for this on the PC Richard's credit card which I opened up that day. If the store is reading this, let Mizan know he is awesome and I loved the store itself too, great variety of fireplaces and TVs. Took off from work early and came in for a very simple return (accessory was missing, actual item itself had signs of use on top and bottom). What was supposed to be a simple return required me to repeat what was missing and why I wanted a return at least 5x. "Nothing should be missing since this is a new product. Everything should be in the box." (Right bc manufacturers never mess up or returned items don't ever get resold, intentionally or not.) Other retailers with actual customer service would have marked the item as defective/RTV and given the refund immediately. Regretting every second that I did not just order from Amazon or Target or Best Buy or literally anywhere else with customer service to avoid wasting time. Went to this location on Tuesday 7/11 to purchase a Friedrich a/c, specifically the Uni-Fit Thru the wall unit. I did so after checking their website which advised the unit was in fact in stock. I got to the store and was greeted by Sales Counselor (Chris). I advised him of what I needed and he got to work. Got a new P.C. Richard card approved and Chris processed the sale. Also purchased a 3 year protection for a total price of $1175.81. Chris advised if I wanted delivery but I explained that I was pressed for time and wanted to just pick it up. Chris advised that they didn't have a unit for me even tho their website said otherwise, this was disappointment #1. I almost decided to forgo the purchase and even tho it would have been difficult for me to do so, Chris convinced me to go to another location (Forest Hills) to pick it up there, to which I agreed. I go to the new location the very next day, rushing after work to pick up the unit. I present the sales slip and I automatically get a troubled look from the sales counselors. I'm advised that they don't have a unit for me. He asks if Chris called the store to check if unit was available before sending me over. Obviously he didn't and just wasted my time for two days. This was disappointment #2. I was offered delivery but not a next day delivery for my waste of time and trouble. No compensation offered, no trying to fix the problem, just a shoulder shrug. Picked up a brand new TV from this store. The TV I purchased is an LG Model that sells for over $700 online at stores such as B&H Photo. Even Amazon.com listed my TV in the $650+ range. I got my TV for $340 plus tax. I will add that it's a display model, but so what, it's new and came in a box + has a manufacturer's warranty. I am really happy with my purchase. The salesmen at this store were very professional, in particular the manager whom I believe is named Sam (pretty sure I got his name right). If there is one thing I hate about shopping for electronics is aggressive salespersons that follow you around the store and try to sell you stuff you don't really want. My wife and I purchased a Frigidaire wall mount AC with 2 year protection plan. The price tag on the AC was $559. That's until Jamel rang us up and told us it had the wrong price on it and said it's actually priced at $609. Should have been our queue to leave the store but we went ahead with the transaction anyway. The thing that really annoyed me was that Jamel told us that if we get a 3 year warranty for 129.99 he then would lower the price of the AC to $559. This is typical bait to get customers to buy a higher priced warranty which I find annoying. Of course, we didn't get the 3 year protection plan.
