Very well stocked home improvement store, I found it well organized and laid out. Each Home Depot has roughly similar layout but it's the "roughly similar" that can throw a customer for a loop. Having said that, it suffers from the perennial Home Depot staff indifferent customer attitude. I had a question on kitchen garbage disposers. There were eight employees near the appliance section, staff chatting away and totally ignoring customers. Seriously.... On the other hand, the cashiers were absolutely helpful Good visit but Home Depot needs to emphasize customer service training. Sadly, that seems to be corporate-wide. read more

Kitchen renovation was an expensive, frustrating disaster - Stay away from kitchen design and HD's subcontractor, KTM. HD will tell you that they coordinate the project and ensure accountability by withholding payment from the contractor until everything is done and the customer signs off on it. This is not true. The result is that KTM contractors answers to no one, especially the customer. 12 weeks for appliances and cabinets to be delivered. An additional six weeks to start installation. The project then got stuck in limbo for months because of missed items on inspection. The entire home remained as a construction zone for months unnecessarily. There is no project management or accountability of any kind. HD: "This is a KTM problem, they can't handle all this work. We've had many complaints." KTM: "HD hasn't paid us enough for this job. We are only coming out one more time when everything is on site." This whole project took 11 months start to finish for a small galley kitchen. There was no final punch list. I had to install the final cabinet doors and hardware myself, in addition to bringing in private contractors to finish the job. Ultimately, after multiple letters and phone calls, I got an apology from the store manager for "not setting my expectations lower." If you can't find a better designer/contractor, then don't renovate. read more

Stay away from appliances. They may have attractive pricing, but delivery is a nightmare. Scheduled FOUR days for delivery. Three no shows with no call or notice. Fourth time, showed up 4 hours after the time window given and still only delivered part of the order. Had to go back to store to cancel part not delivered. I offered to drive to warehouse or another store to pick up, they refused and can only deliver to home. Never buying from Home Depot again unless it is on the floor and I can leave with it then. read more

I've been shopping at The Home Depot for 50 years and I usually give a 5 star rating. I ordered a patio swing and picked it up. Home Depot is 28 miles from my house. No big deal. Well when I got home I got a call from Home Depot saying they forgot to give me a box that went with my order. I understand mistakes happen but I drove 112 miles to get my order. Don't ever trust the Keene NH Home Depot to manage a home delivery. Was given a 6:00AM to 8:00PM window for the delivery with a promised phone call a half hour before delivery. When no phone call came after 13 hours of waiting I called and learned that there was a problem with the truck and the delivery was not going to be done. Waited all day and not even a phone call. Terrible, terrible, terrible customer service. Last time we'll do business with the Home Depot. Save yourself some aggravation and shop elsewhere. read more

Our observations and problems with the Keene NH store since 2008: Mediocre service, even lesser employee knowledge, and amongst the worst employee attitudes I've ever seen at a any store of any kind. It's like they're doing you a favor by shopping there. Also, HD had a very poor carpet installation- contractor attitude (out of 1-10 they get a -10 (yes, minus ten)), and poor help with a cloths washing machine warranty problem that was never resolved - so another-10. Selection at this store is only fair-to- poor. Go to Lowe's if you have the option. read more

I went to the service desk to ask for help ordering a sizeable order. The associate was totally inept, and could not navigated the system to access product availablity. I was stunned by his ineptitude. Then another associate interrupted with an unrelated issue, and my service man turned his back on me and proceeded to ignore me for a long time...completely rude and unprofessional. Keene Home Depot, I started a call to talk with Millworks at 0700, June 22, 2023 to purchase 9 windows, 2 man doors and 1 garage door. After multiple blind transfers and requests for me to call back later (currently after 1600, same day) I have given up. I would like to suggest improvements to process at Keene location. A BIG thank you to Chase in home flooring. We needed suggestions for a replacement top for a hay feeder. Light flexible and waterproof. HD did not carry rubber roof liner.. Chase was very helpful. We decided on Measured Rubber flooring. Chase was articulate in cutting, wrapping and labeling. Keene is very lucky to have such helpful staff, no matter what aisle you are in, employees are there for your questions. Tell Chase we appreciate his professional advise and help. We needed a bathroom install and Home Depot kept referring us to Bath Busters even though we had purchased our bathroom stall and fixtures at Home Depot. Bath Busters kept telling us they only do "custom" bathroom installs and could not help us. Long story short, we never received a contractor referral even after Home Depot kept us waiting and waiting for 8 days! I would advise you to avoid anything to do with bathroom installations at the Keene Home Depot. Never again will I use or refer Home Depot to anyone! read more

I am understanding of the covid pandemic and how it may have slowed progress, but to not even get my questions answered at a bare minimum is extremely unprofessional. Management can't be bothered to pick up a phone or hit reply on an email. This staff is really on point, I can't recall a Home Depot that is better run than here, they really have their shit together and it shows. Very friendly, always looking to asking you how you are doing or what they can do for you. Granted, they get busy as all locations do and there are not enough people to wait on you right when you need it but that is the exception not the rule. read more

The Home Depot accepted no responsibility after selling a GE dryer to my 80 yr old father that never worked; and rather than replace with a new one they sold him a new Maytag, and didnot refund his money on the GE. They told us it was our responsibility to work with GE to fix the first one, and have Four service attempts, prior to any refund. However, there was only one GE repair firm in the region and they could not figure what was wrong and made three service attempts over the course of a year. Home Depot could have done the right thing, but instead ripped off an old man in an area that HD has. monopoly on appliance sales. read more

Went in looking to replace my old cordless drill. I was assisted by a tall man named Dennis who took the time to explain the differences between several brands they had in stock. After checking out several new drills he mentioned they were having a sale and showed me a drill set which included the drill, two batteries, the charger and a case for less than what one other drill cost - which didn't include a battery ! This review is strictly on the key copying service at this HD. I made copies of 4 keys, and only 1/4 worked! This is mind blowing! A waste of money and time. I had to get my keys re-copied. Did some research and ended up at Jack's Hardware on Park Ave. What a mess, how unreliable. This could really screw someone over if they have made spares but did not test their keys, they would have been locked out. Very irresponsible. This has given me a bad taste, I have never had such a bad experience at HD, granted never great, either lack of customer service or confusing layout. But being unreliable is the worst. read more

This review is concerning calling in the to Keene Home depot. Their automated system is terrible. I usually by pass it as after several "I didn't understand your request" attempts. Then after getting a live person and forwarded to a department; I am usually waiting for quite a while, sent to the wrong place, or disconnected two or three times. I usually give up getting information over the phone, and either go to the store or call another resource like FW Webb or another independent store. read more

Rick was not only the most helpful worker but he had given us many ideas on how to build the bar. In an area that has a multitude of other hardware/lumber options there is no reason to go to this Home Depot. Even if this were not the case there still would be no reason to go. Unfriendly, uninformed staff are rude and not in the least bit helpful. Every time I give them another chance they blow it. I was there yesterday and purchased a large ticket item and when I came back out front to load it they had sold it again to another customer! I then had to go back inside and get it credited to my card. Not once did one of the three people I was dealing with try to make it right. This home depot was a waste of time. We drove 30 minute s to buy patio chairs because the website said they had 22 in stock. We didnt find any, and 3different staff people just shrugged at us... well, no actually. One said he'd look and then went and sat down at customer service (he wasnt working, just hanging out) and another mansplained how to use the Home Depot ap so we could buy the chairs online. Very disappointed in the service we've received thus far. We came in looking to replace our kitchen and bathroom countertops and faucets. The person that took our order was very easy to speak to and we paid or $5577 and walked out the door satisfied. And then the nightmare began. All service appointments afterwards were on their schedule, not ours. They wouldn't come in on the day or time we were available and even on the days they scheduled had be cancelled twice. On the day of the measurements, the person didn't measure the bathroom. He was only there to install in the kitchen. A quick call to Home Depot revealed that they did not charge us for installation for the bathrooms. They expected us to find our own contractors. Wait a minute! We bought countertops for the kitchen and the bathroom. You charged us for installation in the kitchens and you just assumed we weren't going to need installation in the bathrooms???? Why???? Why would you do that??? Alright please add installation for the bathroom as well. "Sorry we don't do that. We contract through a third party." We asked the 3rd party doing the installation and they said, "Sorry we only install if the material is purchased directly from us." The last straw that prompted me to write this review is that the installation company is finally coming out to do the installation and said they are not authorized to do plumbing. So I paid for installation of a faucet and it will only be half installed. I'll have to go find a plumber now read more

I'm kinda surprised that this store has gotten only four reviews (with 2 more being hidden) and that we have guys driving all the way up from Hartford no less to deliver kudos. Strange. As for me, I go with those who have had problems with the people in this place. I used to like the place but as time goes by I find it harder and harder to find anything that even comes close to the excellent staff and management team one reviewer talks about. My experience has been that over the years the staff just gets ruder and ruder and those who are supposed to be managers become less and less worried about how they treat customers. I used to think that if a Lowes came to town that would drive them out of business. Now I think the managers and staff will do that all by themselves without any outside help at all. I'm getting tire of having the managers there just sort of blow me off whenever I try to tell them about the rude behavior of their employees. Their prices are not that low enough to make up for the sort of guff that gets thrown around here. Apparently seeing all the businesses in the Keene area that have been closing down hasn't set off any alarms there. As for me, I've moved on. This store has extremely friendly staff who are honest, i.e. - they tell you what they know and find help when they don't know (no BS). That is VERY useful when working on one's home, respect that honesty! In 8 years of buying here have twice had problems. That's really not bad, sometimes things do happen and we are talking like 99% no problems as well. But on the two times where problems occurred, both times management stepped in, went above-and-beyond, and made it right. Quite honestly I have found this HD much more customer friendly and hard working than MANY of the other HD stores. Living in NY, CT, MA, for reasons of employment, the Keene store excels. HD is what it is, it's not a high end mill shop, nor a quality lumber store. They buy bulk, model a business behind bulk sale, low cost, and for the Family DIY'er on a budget it's a win. Most of the customer sales people are friendly and try to be as helpful with the knowledge they have. It's not a contractors store and any contractor using the HD store goods should be scrutinized. read more

A few days before Christmas, the refrigerator seemed to be on its last leg, so we purchased a GE side by side- standard stock so that we could get a quick delivery. The soonest date was Jan 2nd but it seemed understandable because of the holiday. We stopped in at the store on Dec 31st and had confirmation that it would be delivered. On Jan 2nd, the delivery company called to say that the frig was not in stock. We rescheduled for the 9th And again there was no delivery. In fact we were told that they are backfilling for the Black Friday sales! When I asked why we weren't told about the backlog, the manager said "we often do tell" but you didn't tell me. Have had to cancel the order because they simply do NOT know when the refrigerator will be in stock. I even asked to have a substitution, but was flat out told that they just can do so because they don't know when the manufacturer can deliver. PS the delivery company told us to call General Electric to find out when we could expect a delivery- really! Such poor service from Home Depot and Only an apology when I called to cancel the order. read more

I have given the Keene home depot 6 chances. On the first, 1/4th of the order came broken while costing me 65- shipping. Upon return, they didn't correct the order accurately. It eventually took them 4 trips to complete the order without broken items and correct installation items (thinset, grout, etc.). Most recently, they misrepresented a special order door as being aluminum clad jamb. Only part of the jamb was aluminum. This was not disclosed. Also the Jeldwen (don't ever buy) door was 3/8ths of an inch off form one side of the jamb to the other. Never again! read more

I have purchased over $15,000 worth of home renovations from Home Depot in the last few months. After many visits for purchasing items and doing a few returns I will travel over twice the distance to make my future home improvement purchases just so I do not have to go to Home Depot (Keene, NH). A few reasons: its difficult finding an associate in the department I need help in, there often times only 1 cashier at the check out lines (morning and during the day), and when I do find someone to assist me, they have to check with someone else because they don't know about common products (items they have on the shelves). As a customer this becomes irritating when it happens numerous times. I also had to make a return due to a manufacturer defect (an item they sold there). They told me the manufacturer didn't know what they were talking about when I was told to call Home Depot. Did I mention they would get a credit for the defected item so they would not be losing any money or sales. I am not one to write reviews but this company has irritated me one to many times. I will never do business with them again. read more

My fiance and I came in on Saturday March 31st to buy a washing machine. The store associate Marianne was brilliant! She was so kind, helpful, and set everything up for us, including a delivery scheduled for Friday April 6th (6 days after we paid for the washing machine). That Friday, the deliverers came on time but refused to hook up the washing machine because they claimed the water valves are corroded (we later on verified with a professional who said that the valves are just fine). On top of refusing to hook up the washing machine, when they opened it up, it was missing the drainage pipe, which was the fault of the GE manufacturing site. The washing machine had to be rejected, and the deliverer said that someone would call us within a day to reschedule the delivery of another washing machine. Three days later, no call. I've been calling Home Depot (since I live a bit far from this location) and have never been able to reach an appliance associate (always too busy). Finally I asked a random associate over the phone to look up my order, which they did. She said that GE scheduled a delivery for April 12th with no indicated time. Not only did I not receive a phone call, they also did not provide a time of when they would supposedly be coming by with the delivery. I ended up canceling the order, and the lady I talked to said that it could take a week or longer for my refund to come through. Unbelievable! Home Depot should regulate who they do business with. We requested through Marianne several leads (one for windows and one for a locksmith). The company who called me regarding the windows (it was a Home Depot worker) said they only replace windows, nothing else. The locksmith came by for an estimate and we approved him to buy hardware and make new keys for us, but he never called us back. This store/location has the best workers, but stay away from utilizing delivery services and their lead services. read more
