Ever since the change in management within the past year, this Home Depot has gone severely downhill. It used to be my go-to store as a contractor, but I now find myself frequently avoiding it--especially since Steve's departure from customer service. This week, I placed a large lumber order. When I arrived Friday to pick it up, I discovered that it had not been placed on skids or strapped together so it could be loaded by forklift. Instead, they expected to load more than 1000 pounds of lumber onto my trailer by hand. In over 10 years of shopping at Home Depot, I have never seen a large lumber order prepared this way. I spoke with Sean on the floor, and he assured me that he would have the lumber properly bundled that night so I could return Saturday morning and have it loaded by forklift. When I called Saturday morning, it still had not been done. I continued with my workday and planned to return Sunday. As I was getting ready to leave, I received a notification that Home Depot had canceled my entire order. I called the supervisor and they said they only will strap and bind a lumber order if called in advance. Keep in mind it now takes sometimes 10 to 15 minutes to get a hold of anyone when calling in. How does this make any sense as a policy? Sounds like lazy management not wanting to reissue the order even after their own error. Absolutely ridiculous. This is just one of many recent examples of poor customer service, broken commitments, and a complete lack of support at this location. I'll be taking my business to the Orange City store in hopes of receiving better service. It is disappointing to see what was once a great Home Depot fall apart because of terrible upper management. read more

I went in for a pickup ofanonlineorder. There were originally three people at the registers. Then there were two. One was on a call with a customer. Not sure what the other one was doing. Initially, I waited with one customer in front of me. We were not helped for some time. Then more customers came and the line was out the door. Still no one was being helped. I could hear customers asking each other what was going on? Finally, I got a person to serve me. He told me he was new and didn't know what he was doing. Boy, was he right! He didn't know how to do the pickup and did it wrong. Another employee helped but told him the wrong last step. I went outside to the Lockers. The code he gave me didn't work. Yes, you guessed it. I had to go back inside but I didn't wait at the end of the line. I went by the register and waited until he was done with a customer. I explained that the code was not working. He called a supervisor to help. It turns out that the locker was locked and would not release the item because he pressed the "release " button. Here we go... The supervisor along with a tall employee had to manually release the whole row of Lockers to get my item out. It was quite a spectacle. This whole ordeal took about 30 minutes. Needless to say I'm not using store pickup again. I'll just choose curbside pickup instead. The lack of customer service, while lines are out the door and ill trained employees, makes the Home Depot experience frustrating and less than desirable. read more

It is a Home Depot most like any other. Service depends on who you get. Most of the time I was either pointed in the correct direction or escorted to what I needed. Only one time did someone not know where a certain isle was (from an online lookup). Selection and stock seem to be as good or above average for the Home Depots I have been in. I never thought about it before but I kind of assume no matter what part of the country you are in the pricing is probably the same. I tend to buy most things online if I am not in a rush and their pricing seems to be reasonable overall. I have only used Home Depot once for installation of something and that was years ago. The one person that even awarded a question ( must the minute you made eye contact, disappear, dude or whatever with pink long highlights) told me that what I was looking for maybe in ? . I used to be a Lowe's girl until I moved into this area and now I am all about the Home Depot and I think the employees here are pretty great and helpful for the most part. There are times when you get the occasional one or two that Look at you like a deer in the headlights. but you know, don't we all have those days? I really appreciate that most of my visits to Hoke Depot are really great and productive. They have a few other odds and ends like rugs and random stuff like that but this is primarily a Store for home improvement and construction items so they're not gonna have a massive variety on some of the aesthetic finishing touches. But they do have some of those items and it is nice that if it happens to go with the look you're going for you can pick it up while you're here. I do like that the staff is knowledgeable for their perspective departments and able to help you get in and out pretty quickly and I appreciate what they do. I was unaware that the return policy for AC, pressure washer etc changed when I purchased the unit. 7 day return policy for online orders that are not delivered for 6 days is VERY unreasonable. Walked into the Lake Mary store, about 10 steps in, two employees chatting near the entrance, no other customers around. I politely asked where I could find duct tape and hoping for a little advice on a project. They looked at me as if I were interrupting them and said "try the tape department" and went back to their conversation. I have been coming to this location for years. My review is strictly for curbside service as I've never actually been inside this location because it's not the closest location to me and because it's always super busy which is not good for my anxiety. I looked online yesterday for a Halloween inflatable I was searching for. My casselberry location did not have it, but LM did, which was great. Then I saw they had curbside pickup, even better. I placed my order and they said it would be about 2 hours. I got the notification it was ready way before that. I was able to pick it up on my lunch break. When I got there, there were clear signs to where you go for curbside. After I checked in my order was brought out to me speedily. I would definitely order curbside from here again! read more

The gross incompetence with The Home Depot warranty service is disgusting. Previously, we replaced all of the windows in the house with top-of-the-line windows, with a lifetime warranty. We also had one of their contractors install them. Last February, we reported a breach in an upper window in the kitchen. Something unhealthy was growing between the 2 pieces of glass. The inspector looked at the window, agreed with our assessment, took pictures, and submitted the claim before leaving my house. At that time, I was told that the replacement might take as long as 6 weeks. I waited before visiting the store or calling the window warranty department. When I started calling, I was told the window had arrived but was damaged and had to be reordered. No one bothered to tell me. I had to wait another 6 weeks. Then, after more of my calling them, they told me the window was in and they would install it. The window was the wrong size. Every time I called, the excuse was that person does not work here anymore. I would like to know why a corporation as large as The Home Depot is dependent on specific personnel, rather than the computer system. Now, it is the middle of September, 6.5 months since the original and I received a call for someone to come and take pictures. This was done twice. The installer arrived and the window was WRONG, AGAIN. The window was the wrong size and had pane dividers, which the original window does not have. Here we go again. One reviewer commented that The Home Depot was his "go-to" store. Based on our experience, Lowe's is my go-to store, with more personnel willing to help and more knowledgeable of the store and the customer's needs. read more

I order a lot of stuff online from Home Depot but this is my store when I need to make a quick purchase. Today, I went for potting soil and manure for my new blueberry tree. I was in the garden center, and finding a clean, unopened bag of soil can be tricky. One time, I lifted a bag of sand and unearthed a nest of ants! Their workers were frantically trying to move the baby ants. Yuck. This time, it had just rained so everything was wet. They have such a variety of soils, I perused them all but I did not find the mushroom potting soil that I keep hearing is wonderful. I decided on an outdoor potted plant soil and black kow manure, my go to bag. The potted soil was so dirty. A bag had been opened up on top of all of them. So I rinsed it off as best as I could with the nearby hose. But when I got to the registers I realized it was slightly open and the back of the bag was also filthy. I thought about swapping it out and mentioned it at the register. The register attendant was kind to give me a plastic sheet to wrap it in and line the trunk of the car. He also gave me fifty percent off of that open, dirty bag! I was thrilled. Saved me about $5. They have a nice selection of citrus trees in the garden center. Inside the store, I have yet to find the light switch replacement I need. But they're always helpful with my projects and matching my lightbulbs. I've had keys made here so many times. They have an electronic key storage, so you're never locked out. What a neat feature! Overall, a very helpful store. It's my go to place for all things Christmas, from lights to decor to extension cords. Online, I've purchased very nice dining room chairs at a great price. They got delivered to the store late and damaged, but the store clerks helped settle the issue. Everything is good now. Four stars for excellent customer service, decent selection and an online presence. read more

Sensing my lack of knowledge, an employee came over and offered helpful advice, and even stopped me later to give some advice in how to prepare and apply it, and to make sure I got the right materials. It's a Tuesday morning. I put in a simple pick up order of some screws and nuts. Yet again... ALL of my items are not available, order cancelled. This location is the WORST. I can't tell you how many times I have put in a simple order, it gets cancelled shortly after and I go into the store and find the items immediately, right where they are supposed to be in the drawers. This home Depot location can be dangerous. It's near the over crowded corporate area, along with the exits for I-4, so have patience getting into this parking area. Other than that, this home Depot had associates provide great customer service, and they were busy today! I guess adults have their own shopping to do for themselves along with back to school around this time. This store in Lake Mary is nice and clean, I had no issues reading the signs or using self checkout. Parking was easy, preferable to other locations. There was no out of stock issue with the items I purchased. I only dinged them one star simply because it was hard trying to find a person to ask where something might be. I feel like they avoided eye contact simply so I wouldn't ask them anything. I didn't know if it was because I was a girl or what, but there was no help to be found. I located the items on my own with the help of signs but it took a while because the store is huge, I don't know which way to go for something so small. Recommendations? I did realize today that you can buy cleaning supplies here at a reduced price from your regular grocer. I ended up stocking up on some basic toilet cleaner, shower cleaner and some microfiber cleaning cloths and ended u saving more money than if i purchased them at the grocery store. I'm done, I keep trying to stay loyal to Home Depot. I went last weekend to get some plumbing parts , and standing patiently waiting to be helped, as soon as the employe finished with the female customer, he went around me as I tried to ask a question. He went around me to a customer 10 feet in back of me that just showed up and told me to wait ( also a female). OK is this employee looking for a date , or helping assist shoppers. Last night every one in the store was assisting in blocking isles ,and moving material with the fork lift at 6 pm. No one to assist in the tool department. The women at the cash register by the lumber department either didn't speak English very well Or had some issues , the lady at the register across from her seemed to take great delight in my frustrations, while I tried to explain what a bench grinder was . At this point I realize my time is being greatly abused. . And ask t see a manager , after 25 minutes and no manager , I leave all my acquired items , and head out the door. I drive to the other side of the store and decide the manager must know. I go to the return counter and again ask for the manager, a young meek Spanish guy comes to greet me me and I give him the short version , asking why some one with such bad communication skills, is put in a position ,that is not good for public relations . This is what I get in return " I DONT KNOW" well Home Depot , I do know. I won't be back. The business Home Depot card we put 30,000 on last year won't be back , Until customer service gets back to what it used to be . Hello Home Depot, My father and I were browsing Sofit in your establishment and were only able to find 12ft long pieces. We proceeded to ask an employee if they were able to cut it in half, seeing as it would not fit in our vehicle. We still planned to buy the whole thing so we didn't see our request as any sort of a problem. They were not able to cut it because they only had a lumber cutting station. This is another review of home depot customer service. As I said in my first review I only go here for sales and certain things. Well, I'll admit, I buy their ridged tools for the lifetime warranty and you can't really beat that. However HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AGAIN. So I go there looking for a ridged corded circular saw, which online it says they have 3 of them. I look for about 15 minutes at the tool section for this saw. I can't find it. So then I ask a cashier if she can help me. She was very helpful to try to find someone who could help me. However, the person who she called to help me was a joke. I showed him what I was looking for and told him I could not find it, and showed him that online it said they had 3 of them. Instead of saying something like I apologize we need to change that, he said "If you can find it I will pull it off the shelf for you, but I can't find them." Well if I could find them I wouldn't have asked the employees to help me find it. He then was like we don't have anymore. And at this point because of his poor service I kept saying well it says you have 3. He kept saying if you can find it I will pull it off for you but I can't find them. I've been looking for them for 3 days. Well if you have been looking for them for 3 days then take it off you inventory. If it weren't for some of their products, I particular their ridged tools, I wouldn't shop there. Been here a few times lately to pick up random items. As far as I can recall, I've interacted with a different employee during each visit and each one has been helpful and knowledgeable. I never have had any trouble finding anything they've pointed me in the direction of and the store always has the item I found online and went to the store to collect. Occasionally I have to hunt down an employee, and sometimes they don't take me seriously because I am female, but I eventually find someone useful and happy to help me. I occasionally have technical questions that they are able to help guide me through, or find me someone who can. Try to buy a new refrigerator on March 19, 2021. The fastest delivery time was March 29, 2021. When the delivery got here, the two people that was there to install it told me that they delivered a refrigerator to a same 3 floor townhouse design and it wasn't going to fit up the stairs and I need to remove my hand railing and reschedule after I removed it. I measured the space of my the refrigerator, it could fit easiest with plenty of space, other options could also be lifting it over the railing as there was plenty of space above as well or remove the doors. The whole process took less then 5 mins and they left. No attempts was made. After multiple phone calls, I was able to convince them to do it without removal but the reschedule time frame was another week. Every thing is different, don't ever assume due to a similar experience. Horrible serves and terrible experience. If you need something fast or emergency, this is not the place. read more

Bought tile and hired their services to install the tile. The skids have been sitting in my garage for weeks. Installation day is finally here and the guy come for 5 minutes to tell us they ordered the wrong tile. Now they are saying they may need to reorder the whole order and could take another few weeks! We have rearranged our whole house and now 4 rooms are out of commission. Thanks for your incompetence. Was going to use them for kitchen renovation. I think I'll shop elsewhere. read more

Went to the garden department this morning and unfortunately the clerk working was rude as usual. This is at least the 6th time over the past year we have had this issue with the SAME woman. How she is still employed is unbelievable. We have always continued to pay for our purchase but today was the final straw. We left our cart and drove 5 miles to Lowes and gave them our $150.00. Out of my house to Lake Mary's HD . After a bad back lession I make an effort to walk to lumber and elecyrical departments. Twenty minutes in each department and no associates to find. I request Fana to call for help in Lumber. Another 12 minutes and nobody shows. A nice lady tries to help me on the exit . Gives me insttructions to go to where associate is cutting wood. Honestly, I was wastng so much time, I gave the lady all articles inthe cart. Back home, the electrician was waiting, paid the electrician the quote but tonight I'll sleep in my bedroom without ceiling fan and no light in the living room. I don't need a HD card if I cannot effectively buy there. So from parking lot I proceeded to cancel it. My cabinets next year will be from anyone but HD, nor Lowes. read more

I came in asking for a product (showed her a picture), she walks me to where the product was, when I begin to ask her information about this product, this woman begins answering me as if I have a learning disability.
