While it pains me to leave this review, no it doesn't, this place sucks. I don't know how many OSHA violations they do a day but honestly this place lacks safety and common sense. I routinely go into the lumber department and there is wood unsecured, bays with no chains, unlocked ladders, pallets on the floor, I mean the list goes on. The small redeeming factor is the few associates I have interacted with were pleasant. But I would take cranky associates in a safe store over friendly associates who don't do their job. My warning to you is be careful in the lumber department.

drain line runs from dishwasher to sink drain, bypassing air gap.

Home Depot delivered and installed a new dishwasher. The bypassed the air gap required by county code. Installers returned to my house and insisted that it is installed correctly, that if they connected to the air gap water would shoot out of it. Beware that "installers" are simply delivery people. They are not professionals and do not have the training. Calling the Home Depot appliance team wasn't helpful. They referred me to the delivery/installation company and they don't see a problem. I'll fix it myself but wanted to document this poor quality installation for others. Will also be following up with the MD state board of plumbing. There could be thousands of misinstalled appliances. The issue here is safety, the air gap prevents dirty drain water from backing up into the dishwasher. Will also be following up with the manufacturer. Maybe they could put some pressure on a major retailer like Home Depot to do a better job. It's too bad that Home Depot is using poorly trained delivery people to install appliances.

Home Depot sub contractor. I made them aware of the issue and he said "you didn't pay for the installation, so it's fine"

Just purchased some appliances at the Home Depot. The people who came and installed the washer and dryer shouldn't even be doing this type of work. They are very unprofessional, rude, when you talk or ask them a question they don't even answer. Here is the real problem though. I noticed that my dryer did not have the electrical wire clamped down with a wire clamp. The wires were all exposed. So, I ran back outside to let the installer know that he did not put a clamp and the wires were exposed. He came back inside with this huge attitude. He then looked the the connection and said "it's fine" I told him it's not correct. He then tells me "you didn't pay for the installation so it's fine" he then tells me "you had to be Spanish" which, he was a Latino too and his comment made no sense. I then called Home Depot and let the manager know what the issue was. He told me he would call me back. Once he did, he tells me, you have been set with an appointment for next week. NEXT WEEK, REALLY???!!! I went ahead and fixed the issue myself. The funny thing is the manager tells me "we have been having issues with the same people" I then tell him "so why are you sending the same incompetent people to do garbage work, he then says "cause we have no one else" WOW!? Great answer. The only reason I got appliances there was cause they offer a 10% military discount. NEVER AGAIN... LESSON LEARNED. Unfortunately, one smug employee ruined that experience for me, and I'll now be switching my allegiance to Ace. I purchased a small $6 shower accessory. Unfortunately I lost the receipt. The accessory was not what I needed, and I attempted to return it. The employee stated I cannot return without a receipt, even for a store credit (I was going to purchase products worth more than the value of what I was returning). I was disappointed at this response, but I shopped for what I needed anyway. I went to the front, and the employee was helping another customer in an aisle. After helping that customer, she proceeded to another customer in the aisle. Now, I understand one person having to triage, but at that point a simple acknowledgement of me would have been nice. It felt intentional, and it seemed as if the employee was taking satisfaction, acting somewhat smug as she told me she won't accept a return without a receipt. Not sure if this is just one rude employee, or the owner is really this strict about returns on $6 items that are clearly unused, but either way, I seriously doubt I'll be doing business here any more. If you had or have a similar experience, I also encourage you to drop these clowns. (Incidentally, when I purchased the item I would eventually return, I was not asked for my phone number (which they generally use to text receipts, as I'm part of their "customer club" or whatever. So there is actually another mess-up by a different employee that could have accommodated the companies own draconian return policy.) In short, I go to a neighborhood spot like this for the service. And when I'm treated this way, it defeats the purpose of avoiding much more convenient and likely cheaper options like Ace or Amazon. You are not really selling hardware - you should be trying to offer a superior customer experience--remember that and you will not lose customers like this

I will not bother to recount our extremely poor experience when we purchased 7 French Doors several years ago. I had one of their experts come to the home to measure the door frames so that if there were a problem they could not blame me for an incorrect measurement. Surprise surprise when one of the doors did not fit, this after the original door had been removed leaving a gaping hole in our living room wall. It took 5 weeks to receive the correct replacement. BTW, they wanted full payment before the new one arrived. I told them that I would have AMEX put the full amount on hold until the replacement arrived. That got their attention. Back to the current situation: When I visited the store to buy a replacement retention pin, the individual at the front counter was totally clueless. I then asked for the person who handles storm doors. Hilda wasn't in. Two voicemails were left on her line. I was not shocked when she did not respond. The good news is that the Anderson website parts dept. had the part. I should have gone there first rather than waste time with the indifferent and incompetent personnel at TW Perry. Stay away.
