08JAN25 ~ Where Is the Entrance to the Store?!? There does not appear to be an 'Entrance' to the main part of the store! The Garden Center entrance was closed. The was an entrance for the 'Pickup Orders' and 'Lockers' area, but not to the main store. Then there were two 'Exits' one after the other. I eventually went into the store via the 'Exit'. Come on guys! ~ The woman at self-checkout was very nice or this would have been a 'One Star' review. For whatever reason, Home Depot no longer has customer survey feedback requests on their receipts. read more

This is just a review of their first Saturdays of each month, Home Depot offers a free workshop for kids to build their own wooden masterpiece. I'm not sure the age requirement but my sister been taking her kids ages 15 month and 3 years old. She can't make it so she asked if I can take them. You can show up anytime between 9am and 12pm, and your child will be outfitted with the hallmark orange apron and the tools to create a wooden "whatever" (each month is a new project). And yes, they get to bring their timbered showpiece home for all to admire, along with a certificate of achievement and a snazzy pin for their apron. This Home Depot has improved somewhat. I had gotten used to understocked hardware drawers and non existent employees, but with the somewhat close Lowes store, these guys stepped up their game. Its is pretty much identical to every other HD store you may have visited. Though if you wish to rent heavy machinery like manlifts and posthole diggers, you will need to visit the Gretna, La. location. Also like other HD stores, there is a small gathering of available laborers waiting in the bushes for any work you might have at home. Somewhat organized, improving stocking and self check out registers have helped this location. read more

I have been to this Home Depot on several occasions now and I have received more assistance from staff than I have at any other Home Depot, EVER. Every staff member who was within five feet of me offered help. The store was clean but could be a bit more organized. I couldn't find the special door handle I was looking for. When a friendly staff member offered assistance, she informed us that they didn't have the part, but gave us a lot of good suggestions on where to look. The plants at this store are much better kept and well stocked than other locations I have visited. The bathroom was clean, smelled fresh, and the stalls have purse hooks which is always a plus! Not sure what else there is to say about this diy bohemoth, but they're doing a fine job. read more

Not sure if maybe those with a good experience was dealing with their Pro counter or not- but out of 5 people behind their counter and I being their only customer- I have never been treat so unprofessional than here. Guessing big accounts are not important to this store. I called ask if they would pull the microwave and having waiting at pro counter. First thing the lady says is "you can go back to appliance and take care of it back there." Then this guy says "we don't pull things for our customers" one lady truest did try to take care of me- I ask for story manager and 45 minutes later still no Mgr read more

I came to this Home Depot after my usual Home Depot in Gretna didn't have the industrial cleaning supplies I needed. A quick search showed that this HD had what I sought, so I headed this way. I had trouble finding what I was looking for, but a sales person quickly pointed me in the right direction and turned out to be a major lifesaver. I have also done some shopping here for under cabinet lights that I am considering once my new kitchen is built. They have a nice selection of rope lights and "puck" lights that are surprisingly easy to install and priced well. Home Depot is pretty good about having seasonal sales, so keep an eye out if you are looking for something specific. read more

I have the honor to be married to a Katrina 2005 survivor; we live in the French Quarter and retired here.. from NY in 2019. Hubby lived in NOLA for decades before he met me - so has kept a storage unit in Harvey. So when the time came to unpack our forty year gonzo stash, re-do and re-organize, he knew he needed some tools, special wood for shelving, cord, nails....and other supplies to get things ship shape. First he headed to another store, I won't mention the name but it begins with an "L". The indifferent associates, one of whom nastily said when he asked where something was, "I have no idea.." and their general zero service focus - nudged him out the door, pronto. Fifteen minutes later at HOME DEPOT he was greeted by genial, informed staff. He found everything he needed quickly. Good prices, polite employees, immaculate premises, everything A-ok. First, I will say that 9/10 times, I shop at Lowe's rather than Home Depot. I'm not sure why - just a personal preference, I guess. Maybe the blue is an easier color on the eyes than the orange. However, my dishwasher broke, and Home Depot just happened to be having a great sale at the exact same time. We purchased the dishwasher, along with an extended warranty, from the lovely employee in the appliances department. She scheduled our delivery & installation (FYI, dishwasher installation costs extra since they have to do more than just plug it in). While she couldn't give an exact date, she gave a ballpark, and said they would call. I've gone back and forth over this in my mind. The delivery was a disaster. However, at this point, I can't remember the name of the delivery company that Home Depot uses for their New Orleans-area deliveries, and since they are the ones who use this company, I'm going to go ahead and include it in the review. As noted, I paid extra for the install. They came on a day when I couldn't possibly escape work, so I sent my mother-in-law to let them in. First, they showed up with the wrong dishwasher. Why? Because they had just dropped off my dishwasher at their first stop (it was just a drop off, not an install). So they went back to go switch dishwashers. Next, they decided that the opening for the dishwasher was too large, even though the previous dishwasher had the exact same dimensions. So instead of actually attaching the dishwasher to anything, they just attached the water hookups, plugged it in, shoved it in the hole, and said goodbye. Also, it took them almost 3 hours to do this. Wtf. When I got home and saw this, I called up the company to reschedule. They sent someone a few days later who finally attached the dishwasher to the cabinet so that I could actually use it. The second time around, I'm happy with it. I love my dishwasher, and the service at the store level was awesome. However, the delivery & install process took way, way longer than it should have. read more

The service at this home depot kinda sucks. I was looking for a part to hook up my portable dishwasher to my sink. They don't have the call buttons to call someone to help and employees were hard to find. I finally found someone who took me to the aisle and ditched me. Never found what I needed. Meh. I'll stick to the Home Depot on Earhart. read more

Stood around waiting for the only employee in appliances who was on the phone. When she finally acknowledged she was rude. Asked for a product which she quickly said wasn't available. If I hadnt called previously and just spent an hour in traffic to prepay and order I may not have been as offended. When I asked was it discontinued she responded with another rude reply. Walked out but not before suggesting what she could attempt with the refrigerator. Somewhere theres a nursing home missing a psych patient. Good job Home Depot! read more

Stopped by to purchase drywall anchors.they have Bigger and better variety. Should have taken small videos of the greeter, and cashier today. First of all I engaged in the greeting and mention the good mornings to the greeter for her just to respond with a unenthusiastic "hi".That didn't bother me so much until I heard her enthusiastically Greet one of her coworkers. I'm not sure if it was A race thing , just never know these days.cashier an old lady walked in she close to her 80s, she was a very well groomed, and was pretty ambulatory and independent. She asked the cashier she wanted to return something .cashier directed her. After the senior citizen passed by the cashier asked me what person in the world doesn't know where to find the returns desk. I responded well she's old-school and is used to hospitable and kind customer service. I find that this morning staff was extremely poor with customer service, and as far as enthusiastic making you feel like a welcome customer. Next time I go when Film actions do speak louder than words. read more

I was interested in buying mini-blinds for my home. I was given an appointment by the sales associate to have my windows measured in order to custom fit the blinds. After waiting two hours for the service tech, he never showed. He nor any store associate contacted me with an explanation. I contacted the store later and they could not contact the service tech or his supervisor for an explanation Consequently, I cancelled my order and will avoid doing busy with this store in the future. I lost two precious hours of time, my project is now off schedule and the store used the time value of my deposit for five days. read more
