    Chip out of corner

Never buy flooring in at Home Depot. We noticed the laminate flooring that the installer was putting down was damaged. Chips out of the corners and several others not fitting together right with rough edges. We put a stop to the installation right away and went to the store that day and reported it. We had to wait until the next day to talk to someone about it and were told since some of it was down on the floor that it was now covered by Pergo warranty and and that we could not get our money back unless Pergo got 6 to 10 samples and deemed it defective and then all they would do is replace it with the same flooring. This was unacceptable to us because there is no way we want that on our floor. It is an inferior product. We took everything back that had not been installed yet, flooring and all the trim, caulk and other items and got our money back on that but we are out $765. on flooring that had never even been walked on yet. I have since taken it up and will be getting flooring elsewhere. So now we are on bare plywood floors. Still working on trying to get back some of the money for labor. We paid over$1700 and the installer worked 7 hours. Not expecting much. Just another run around. Really less than one star

Waste of time. Rude employees and if you need help finding things employees don't know where to look either.

At initial scheduled meeting, Stephanie did not smile or introduce herself nor had she reviewed the details (measurements, color and design preferences) we had emailed per their request several days earlier. That should have been red flag #1, but we went ahead, discussed our project although she was unenthusiastic, and provided a good faith deposit and signed a contract which stated they would supply time frames for start and completion of project. The very first question we asked: "What is the time frame was for completing our project?" Stephanie hesitantly told us "sometime in March-April". We were given a day the next month when designs were to be completed, but we never heard anything. We understood they were busy with other clients, so we waited an additional month before sending an email simply to ask when we could schedule the second meeting to review their design. Terry replied that they were backed-up with inventory and had fallen behind due to illness, etc... which, again, is understandable. However, we were floored when his email ended with: "Unless you will agree to an undetermined length of time, we will return your deposit." It had already been two months, so we wrote back to point out that the new kitchen appliances would not be delivered for 4 more months (6 months after initial meeting). We asked if a six-month time frame work for them. Again, we were shocked when Terry replied that since we "would not agree to an undetermined length of time", he was returning our deposit and would put it in the mail that day! We asked him to please call us to discuss, but he did not call us. We left a message at their shop, but he did not return our call. In summation, Twin Lakes did not abide by the terms of their own contract. They set us back two months of wait time when we could have easily hired and been waiting our turn with another design firm. The same week Terry abruptly canceled our project, a friend called them about refurbishing her kitchen and was informed the time frame would be 4-6 months. How are we to reconcile that Twin Lakes was willing to take on new clients and give them a kitchen in 4-6 months, while at the same time they are telling current clients (who had already submitted a deposit, signed a contract AND said we were willing to wait 6 months) that we had to agree to "an undetermined length of time." So, buyer beware! This couple lack integrity, are extremely unprofessional and deceitful.
