This was a great Home Depot. We arrived in the evening on a Sunday and found a fairly empty parking lot. Inside we saw employees, but few other customers. It was like having the store to ourselves. The garden department had lovely flowers and all the landscaping supplies we needed. The fixtures department gave us terrific choices for our bathroom and kitchen faucets. We found great brand choices. We easily found the mold-resistant sheet rock we wanted, despite the layout of this store being a bit different from our home base. For this trip, rather than using a standard shopping cart, we used one of the flat carts. When it began to overflow, we found a family of them parked in row closely nearby. It was so easy! We were approached by two different associates offering help, which was appreciated. When we checked out, the employee at the register was friendly and engaging. So made a delivery to this place as a Otr truck driver an they told me will start unloading you in just a sec 4 hours later still didn't start till I got out truck the forgot I was there mind you my truck trailer is 58 feet long and it has a flat bed trailer I have been in road for 5 weeks haven't got to see my family next load bringing me right throw home town set it up with family to see them for a few min an wasn't able to case I wouldn't make my next pickup on time I don't think they understand that if the wheel are not turning I am. Very nice store, organized and clean and many people are nice, always have good experiences with the people in the paint section being friendly and kind. Haven't had any issues with the quality of things we've bought here. Only reason for leaving a couple stars off is that we had an experience today where there were some people in the store with a Belgian Malinois dog, these dogs are trained to be police and military dogs and should not be owned by common, everyday people unless they're able to pay a lot of money to train them properly. These individuals had a young one who lunged and barked at our child.... The first time, we didn't say anything to them but when we went to check out, the dog lunged and barked at our child again..... So, this time, my husband told the people the dog needs to be trained and shouldn't be brought into public places until it is. The owners of the dog, of course got mad and it caused a scene and one of the store workers made tacky faces at us and spoke to us with an attitude and afterwards. This is why I'm leaving stars off because that woman's job isn't to take sides and act unprofessional to someone when there's a customer discrepancy, her job is to act kind and professional. And quite frankly, it's okay that they allow dogs and it was on a leash, but they should have rules in place, stating that aggressive dogs are not allowed and if an aggressive dog is brought in, they shouldn't act rude to people for feeling uncomfortable about it. We love dogs but they are NOT human beings and if they enter public places that are intended for humans and not dogs, than there should be rules in those places that protect the humans the store was intended for. Pretty sure a dog isn't buying lumber and paint.... People are. So, the lady acting like we were an issue for feeling like we needed to protect our human child, maybe should go work at a PetSmart instead of a Home Depot. If they are going to allow dogs, they also need rules prohibiting aggressive dogs because if the dogs harm someone, than eventually dogs will stop being allowed and that will mess it up for other people with nice, properly trained dogs who don't cause issues. That's all I have to say. I did inform the woman that she was being rude and unprofessional, because she was and it's a shame because most people in Mountain Home are super nice and family oriented but I guess there will always be some who aren't no matter where you go. read more

Never buy flooring in at Home Depot. We noticed the laminate flooring that the installer was putting down was damaged. Chips out of the corners and several others not fitting together right with rough edges. We put a stop to the installation right away and went to the store that day and reported it. We had to wait until the next day to talk to someone about it and were told since some of it was down on the floor that it was now covered by Pergo warranty and and that we could not get our money back unless Pergo got 6 to 10 samples and deemed it defective and then all they would do is replace it with the same flooring. This was unacceptable to us because there is no way we want that on our floor. It is an inferior product. We took everything back that had not been installed yet, flooring and all the trim, caulk and other items and got our money back on that but we are out $765. on flooring that had never even been walked on yet. I have since taken it up and will be getting flooring elsewhere. So now we are on bare plywood floors. Still working on trying to get back some of the money for labor. We paid over$1700 and the installer worked 7 hours. Not expecting much. Just another run around. Really less than one star read more

Be cautious of online orders with Home Depot. I went online to see if they carried an item. I wanted to be sure they had the product before I made the 20 mile trip to the store. But, the website said this item could only be ordered online. I placed the order and was pleased with the "Free Delivery". However, it turns out the store actually carries the same item at 1/3 the price of the online order. Even with the "Free Deliver" I was drastically overcharged for an item I could have easily picked up in the store. I went online to cancel the order, but I found the message "This item is no eligible for cancellation. Big Rip-off!!!! read more

Weston loaded my kitchen counter into my car all by himself and did a great job, good attitude, good work ethic.

Got a Home Depot Consumer Credit Card shortly after this store opened up. I used it occasionally. It's probably been about a year since last I used it. Walked in and brought some items to the register. Cashier: "Will you be using your Home Depot credit card today?" Me: "Yes, I will." Casier: "Your total is $_______." Me: "I swiped my card." Cashier: "It says declined." Me: "I will swipe it again." Cashier: "It still says declined." Me: "Why?" Cashier: "Not sure. How long since you used it last?" Me: "It's been quite awhile I believe." Cashier: "Oh, it may have been deactivated then." Me: "Oh really? Is there a number I can call to re-activate it?" Cashier: "Yes, I can call the number from here and re-activate it." So the casheir calls a 1-800 number, gives the people my information, and then waits. Finally whoever is on the other end says the account cannot be reactivated." Casher: "I'm sorry, but they say your account cannot be re-activated. You will have to re-apply. Would you like to re-apply now? I can help you do that now." Me: "No." Cashier: "Would you like to use another card?" Me: "No, I will go across the street to Lowes and get what I need there. Then I will use my Lowes Credit Card without any problems. You may keep your merchandise." That's exactly what I did. You lose Home Depot. Sale lost !! Tip: Home Depot, if you plan on deactivating somebody's credit card just because it's been awhile (less than a year I'm sure) since they last used it, then shouldn't you at least have the decency and common courtesy to send some kind of notice in the mail, or by email, giving people a warning notice to that effect??? Instead, you wait until people are standing line to pay for their items, then get the charge declined, resulting in embarassment to your customer in front of everyone there. End result: Finished with Home Depot. Will always go to Lowes instead. Goodbye Home Depot. Thanks for taking care of your customers.......NOT. read more

Wanted to buy 3 appliances, no interest in helping me. Called store since 50 miles from them & internet not connected yet. Took 7 calls to reach extension with human. I was then put on hold. Appliance salesman gave minimal one-word answers for most questions, but did help me select washer & dryer after I guided him thru model numbers I'd previously researched. When it came to stove was given false information about which models could convert to propane. Have checked this out with another source & with propane company. Know for a fact that I was told 'none of the low-end models will convert' when actually the salesman chose not to listen to me when I told him I was going to have gas co do the conversion & could get kit from them. It may be true that HD doesn't sell kits for these but that's not what he told me. He then told me he was unable to finish processing $1600 order because he was busy. Booted me to another employee (after hold) who spoke English in a whole different way than I am accustomed to. She was polite but inept & struggled through trying to charge credit card - which I'd used earlier in day at 3 other stores with no problem. She painstakingly had me repeat over & over & over same info. Evidently no pencil nearby. She never did succeed in making transaction but promised she would record info & process it with her manager first thing in morning & then call me. At 11am next day, on 4th try for human, reached her & she had done nothing. I asked for store manager. After several more calls, one completely unanswered, succeeded in talking to manager. All told it took me 3 completed calls (besides the dozen+ attempts to just reach store) totaling 110 minutes of my cell time to buy the 3 items. Delivery would have been OK, except no one called the night before as promised & no one called till 3pm delivery day. Guy was nice but pointed out I had been sold an incorrect rigid dryer vent hose which would not work with my outlet & vent location. Salesman had asked no questions of me & since I don't buy dryers every day had no knowledge that a dryer vent would be anything other than flexible. Thus my dryer sat for 12 days as I tried to find someone to install it - which the installation feature had been one of my reasons to shop at Home Depot. First attempted to contact store with my problem but was told I had not bought the items there & would have to call corporate. Evidently when manager processed my order she'd used computer so it rang up as a computer sale. Another 4 calls & a total of 49 minutes to be told by corporate that there was nothing they could do, but I could drive 50 miles to that specific store (which had earlier said they didn't sell me anything) to return dryer vent. Hooking up was my problem. I think this review is sufficient to explain situation. If I NEVER enter another Home Depot to buy so much as a mini-screwdriver it will be too soon. This store is beyond belief disorganized and insolent and ungrateful for business. They need to have their phones removed as they have no system for answering and evidently no interest in whether customers can reach them or not. read more

I always shop here because they have a great selection of whatever item I'm looking for and whenever I ask an employee about something, they stop what they're doing, take me where I need to be, and answer whatever questions I have. They make it easy to get in, get out, and be satisfied with my purchase. Who cares about some silly card? That's not what's important when you're building or repairing something.
