Customer service is absent at this store. The Christmas Tree section gate was closed. There was no one working in that area. I asked three times, (employees twice after the customer service desk), for help. We waited for 20 minutes in the frigid cold and nobody came out to wrap the tree for transport. I carried it up to pay and then put it in my car with no help. The staff is obviously overworked and therefore don't care. The worst experience. One star because you can't rate zero stars. read more

I have rented all kinds of tools from HD and have never dealt with with anyone at any as rude as this guy. His name was Christian at least that's what his apron said in Graffiti. I rented a belt sander spoke to a gentleman there which agreed that I should rent it for 4 hours and If I could not finish he said they would just charge the full day, I agreed and went on my way. The next morning I arrived take this heavy machine off the truck . get to the door and big sign "sorry for incovenience we open at 1pm". I lift it back in the truck and go about my day. At 4pm I get back to HD and have to deal with the biggest jerk at the Homedepot. Before I left the house I emptied the bag and blew the machine with yard blower. Not good enough for this unprofessional employee. I had to get a manager involved and waste everyone time because this kid obviously was upset because he was stuck working and took it out on customers. This place racially discriminated me and few other customers. Lady at customer service was rude and would not help individuals in line saying she didn't see us standing in the customer service line but rather was taking people that came after us in the returns line. This is ridiculous since everyone on that line was of a different race that people on the customer service line. Surprising a worker of African American origin would treat white customers nicer than other minorities. This is the 21st century treat how you like to be treated and treat humans like human especially since were spending so much money at your store. This is not how a brand should be represented. People like this drag down companies. Obviously not going to mention the persons name since I do not want to publicly drag them down. The store is in a convenient location. Been there several times and this Sunday 6/10 was the last straw for me. Came op to 5 aisles blocked by fork lifts or pallets of merchandise. Headed to the garden dept and almost got hit by a forklift. Crap crap crap all over the place. Staff hard to find but helpful when you find them. Only 1 really backed up register open with a non verbal cashier. She pouted well to the total but not a word spoken. Bathroom filthy with more paper on the floor then on the rolls. Never again. We recently came here for master bathroom vanity customization. All of the people we worked with really made an effort to help us! Donna, Sarita (VERY good at design), Singh, Ronaldo. Singh and Ronaldo help with lighting and flooring. Thank you all! We were able to get the color, style, and design we were looking for. They have some really great software that brings your ideas forth into 3D. It's pretty amazing what they're able to do! Of course it's always good to shop around, but at least if you're looking for ideas and looking for a way to solidify the ideas you may already have, this is a good place to come to! read more

We needed a washing machine so we drove to Homedepot Nanuet NY store, we went to the appliance deopt where we met with Vinnie, associate in that dept. asked if they had washing machines in stock we need to take one home, said all they had were to be delivered to home. We walked around a bit and found one the isle had yellow sticker on it with price. I asked Vinnie to scan the tag incase the price had reduced more, he said he didn't have a scanner.. we found someone with scanner and scan the tag. The price was more cheaper then the tag so we told Vinnie we'd be back with my truck. We went home and returned soon after when Vinnie says " the price is what it is on the tag" well we began to debate that , told him that tag scanned cheaper.. Vinnie said "go see a Mgr" so we did. We met with Customer relations Mgr Named Mr. Neville. We explained the situation he scanned the tag and could not figure out the price change.. He offered to help us find an "instock washing machine" for much less. Mr Neville took charge looked on overhead found one that fit our needs, Gave us a "customer satisfaction price" and off we went!! Mr Neville saved the day. Maybe vinnie should hang out with Mr Neville and learn some customer service training. Had we not see Mr Neville, because of Vinnie we could of gone to Lowes and make our purchase there. Great store with great customer service. Went in a few days ago to grab some carpet after a bad experience with Lowe's. The sales associate Nevin delivered exceptional quality care and gave me all his attention! He assisted me in picking the right material for my floor and was very knowledgeable Great service! I was a cashier in training when the person training me went "postal". He had a disagreement with a customer and took his anger out on me. He acted in a loud, bullying manner such that I left the selling floor in tears. The store manager acted in a very ineffectual manner. The Human Resources person did not return my calls or email me to follow up with this incident. It is horrifying that a large corporation would allow bullying and harassment to be condoned. I subsequently quit since I refuse to work in a hostile environment. read more

On Oct 12, 2019 I went to the Home Depot At Hutton St in Nanuet NY to buy a radon test kit. The store website directed us to the location where the items were kept...they weren't there, we went to customer service who sent us to a different area... they weren't there, we went back to customer service who paged someone from the department where they were housed...the person had no idea what we were talking about and walked away from us..the customer service person went back to their station and gave no further assistance. After 30 minutes we went to Lowes where we picked up the item and were out after 5 minutes. No more shopping at Home Depot. read more

The machine i was using didnt work and it said "wait for attendant" and he got mad at me b/c he had to do his job...? Push a few buttons and it worked. Why are you so angry at me tho? OK, so I have been coming here for years and I've never had a bad experience. I made an order online to be picked up. I went into store to customer service. I stood there for a good 2 minutes while people behind the counter looked at me. Then someone comes over (not from behind the counter) and asked me if everything was alright. So I told her I needed to pick 2 items up I had ordered online. Asked me for the name I gave it to her. She took 5 minutes of silence and obviously couldn't find it. So I asked her if she wanted the order number. And she was unresponsive... I asked again. Still no response. Then she asks this other guy why she can't find it. I said I have an order number. He said oh, just look that up. It took 20 minutes total. Her name is SHARON. Horrible customer service and should be fired. I'd never hire her. Maybe to push carts. read more

I agree with another reviewer. The customer service at this location sucks. I had purchased a washer and dryer from this store and once it was installed, I had trouble with the washer. I had called the store numerous times to inquire about the extended warranty and to get information in how to resolve the problem. Each appliance representative I spoke to seemed as if they were uninterested and unable to give any suggestions. I had asked for the department that handles extended warranties and they had provided me an incorrect telephone number. I went there in person and you will see that it is extremely hard to find someone in the flooring and appliance departments. I wouldn't even recommend an enemy to go to shop at this store. It's torture. I hope they shut this store down or hire competent workers that are willing to assist customers. read more

We simply went in to order blinds. They didn't cut them in our size, we wanted too big a size. The woman did the order wrong, then fixed it. When we got our blinds, they were the wrong size. But what really really gets me is that I cannot ever get them. Currently I am holding for literally 20 minutes, on 2 different phones. Good luck getting them, this is the absolute WORST home depot I have ever gone to. To not be able to get anyone after 20 minutes, this is the 4th time since we ordered, is COMPLETELY UNACCAPTABLE. Had a roof installed 10 years ago. It came with a 50 year warranty. Noticed the shingles looked wavy called Home Depot to have someone come take a look. It took 2 weeks to get a reply. Finally Stanton Jones out to look at the roof. Stanton stated that my siding is the cause of the roof issues. I then hired a construction Company to come out and look at my siding they said the siding should be changed but when lifted up the roof said it was dry and the siding has nothing to do with the wavy roof. They also stated it looks like Home Depot install shingles over a week plywood. I then called Stanton back at the Home Depot he then told me it was caused by ice dams. This is now the second excuse why Home Depot could not stand by the warranty. I then asked to talk to his super visor he stated he was driving and could not give me his phone number. Finally I got his Name and number and when I called Chad Colton Stanton had already gave him his version of the roof problem and would not come look at the roof or stand by the warranty. Be cautious with Home Depot and there warranties. This is not good for business. A 16 thousand dollar roof and I have to have it replaced at my expense. Thank You Home Depot. read more

Jim in lumber goes above and beyond to help. I am an art teacher and needed wood cut to size for my students. The HD in NJ said they would charge me for each cut. I thought I would have to cut it myself at school, wasting my prep time and probably hurting myself. Jim saved the day and was extremely kind, professional and helpful. If you want to avoid bad service, delays, and ineficiency, don't go to this store. Elderly, ill-trained male salesmen avoid waiting on you, especially if you are a woman. In the past month I have had two terrible experiences. With the first, buying furniture hardware, I was told to that the hardware was only available online but that it could be returned in the store. I bought two sets to see which fit and tried to return one only to be told that it couldn't be returned because the bar code was wrong (this after an hour-long wait at the return counter). The other set came with the wrong screws and when I tried to buy screws that fit the salesman told me there were no such screws and that I should go home and keep the original hardware on my bureau.(Screws were easily purchased from the local hardware store the next morning) Meanwhile I began the endless process of buying a patio door from them. I have so far logged five hours of wait time just putting through the order, this because of a broken computer system, salesmen that put in the wrong order, and salesmen that said they were not authorized to use the computer. I ordered the door because the first salesman said they had it in stock. Now I am told that it is back ordered. I will never set foot in that or any other Home Depot store again. Post script: it is now four weeks later and my door is finally in. Installation of my patio door was delayed by two weeks because Nanuet Home Depot forgot to inform their contractor that the door was in. Contractors were polite, professional and skillful though they had to go back to Nanuet Home Depot at least once to return the wrong color trim they were given. They also told me that an already paid for part written up by the store was unnecessary and that I would get credit for it. No credit is forthcoming. I have now had six telephone calls from an 800 number that my caller id tells me is Home Depot. Nobody is ever on the other end of the line and when I try to call back I am told that the number is not in service. One more annoyance from what must be the worst store in Rockland County. read more

My brand new mower stopped working after two or three times of use. I brought it to repairs and they still have not even looked at it. And that was about 20 days ago when it was dropped off. Now I am being told that if it is a carburetor problem they will have to order the part and it will be another five days for it to arrive. Considering it will be another week or two after this to fix my mower---which I am presuming will happen--buying anything more complicated than a screwdriver will be done elsewhere. read more

In August '17 I went into the store to order Pergo for my living room. I chose a color based on what as on display, a contract was drawn up and the materials ordered. I was told the materials would be delivered on a certain day. When that date came and went and nothing was delivered, I visited the store to find out what the problem was. When the expediter, Diane Jones, looked into it, she found that the contract had been deleted from their system. They were never able to find out why. A new contract had to be drawn up which took several hours.. Once again, I ordered Pergo flooring based on the color sample the store had on display. When the floor was installed it was nothing like the sample I had chosen, and I was extremely unhappy. The next day I visited the store and met with Store Manager, Matthew Hilley. Mr. Hilley said he would do whatever he could to to make me happy. I decided to not order Pergo again, since I was fearful due to the inconsistency with the color, so I decided to go with carpeting. Matt gave the job to an employee in flooring, Mike Young, who was very pleasant. Unfortunately, Mike could not make the final agreement since he needed to speak to Matt to do that. After going back and forth between me, Mike and Matt, it became very confusing. What Mike and I agreed to, Matt changed. Mike was going to be out of the store for 2 weeks, so my situation was given to yet another employee, Asst. Mgr. Dan MacDiarmid. The contract written up was not acceptable to me. Dan told me that Matt would be in Mon., 10/16/17. I have tried to contact Matt many times, but have not been able to reach him. At this point, I am so disappointed and disgusted, that I want the Pergo floor taken up and my HD credit card credited for the purchase. Sadly, I will never make another large purchase from Home Depot again. read more

Today I called Home Depot CS around 7 pm because I need assistance in returning a large item I purchased on line. I know Home Depot provided this service from their website. The CS connected me to local store in Nanuet and I spoke to Dam. Dam told me that there is a pick up service from the store. Dam transferred me to CS and a woman said we never did that, you have to bring the item to the store. I said I just spoke to Dam and she put me on hold for about 15 mins and she transferred me again to Dam. Dam answered the phone and transferred me back to CS. Another woman answered the phone and said: you have to bring the item to the store because we never do that. I explained to her that I spoke to Dam and also I read from the Home Depot website. She was very rude and not friendly, when I asked her who am I speaking with? She said this is service desk, I asked her again : may I have your name? She replied again: NO. She asked my name and phone number and she said somebody will call you tomorrow. Before I ended the conversation, I asked her name again and she said no. This was the first time in my life, I spoke to someone and she hides her name. What is wrong with her? Maybe she is not the right person to work as a CS. I'm very frustrated, she ruined the Home Depot reputation. I'm a loyal customer, I always buy all home improvements items from this store. No wondering I read a lot of bad reviews about this store because of the bad attitude from the staffs. She sounded like she has no knowledge but she act like she was the manager and she was so arrogant. Maybe she never got training how to talk to a customer? A good CS usually greeting the customer and introduced them self first. Someone like her should never work as a service desk, she didn't provide service but she provided aggravation instead. I was very disappointed with the very poor service from that woman. I'm sure there are still good staffs at that store such as Mathew from floor department, he was very helpfull.
