Went to rent a truck for a larger item. Called the day before and wasn't given full info, though I'd asked. Had to pay a "damage waiver fee" even though they made me show them full comprehensive and collision coverage. It added an additional almost $20(15%). Though I walked into 2:30pm, they delayed my check in for an additional 5 minutes, resulting in another 15 minute charge! Truck was fine, service, not so fine. read more

It took me asking 6 employees, including 2 store pages, to get help for what I was looking for. Finally the last employee went to the back to get it for me. The item was not on the shelf but he went and got it which was great, even though it took a good hour of trying to get help. It appeared the employees didn't want to help. The customer service rep even walked away from me when I went to the counter to request the 2nd store page to the aisle I was in. She ignored me and then helped the cashier next to her when called after walking away, and still ignoring me... Some of the employees had inappropriate shirts on under their apron. I don't see how that's allowed in a business. After this experience, I don't plan on going back to this location. Everything was very unprofessional and time consuming. read more

B bought two cans of construction gap filler to finish a project. The project stretched on longer and more complex than originally planned. So, two years later, I fitted the valve, and aimed...and it wouldn't shut off! Managed to get some of the contents where it was needed but lost the majority in a pile on the floor. So I installed the valve on the second can and the whole thing exploded in my hand leaving a huge mess particularly on my hands. I took photos of the mess, returned to the store and the clerk blithely told me they don't guarantee anything over two years old...but thanks for coming in. So...bad product..li won't buy that again and unsatisfactory treatment from the store...I won't buy there again...Lowe's is nearby and my local hardware store is much more accommodating. I am flabbergasted. They delivered a defective refrigerator and told us we would need to endure repair service before they would come take it. Once repairs were exhausted and didn't work they finally agreed to refund the money and we purchased another model. When they delivered the replacement they would not take the defective one away! Neither Frigidaire nor Home Depot would help. After hours of effort I was disconnected by both agents who were on a conference call and both saying the other was responsible for removing the defective unit! We are elderly and now need to find some help and pay to have this removed! Awful horrible customer service!!! Beware!!! read more

Made the mistake of thinking to help a customer in line was the job of the check-out employee. Employee and a declared "manager" were having some kind of tense discussion with a long line waiting. When I asked to be taken care of (had a contractor waiting on an hourly rate), I was called "rude" and when I asked to talk to a General Manager, was told, there was none and "you can't tell us how to do our jobs." I knew there was a reason I didn't go to this Home Depot, it's the people there! They think you can't comprehend anything written on a piece of paper. Today 7/5)24 I went in for specific items, when inquiring about a certain item, I got an explanation I already knew, then to be followed and told about said items by the older gentleman following me, oh and then they waited outside to see if I was going to walk out with extension cords! Home Depot is getting worse in certain areas. I would not recommend this particular place if you're disabled, you will not get the service you deserve or for anyone that matters as far as a customer, go somewhere else. read more

This location is much further than my usual STL Home Depot but I came here because my local Home Depot didn't have what I needed in stock. So I knew exactly what I needed to get but I just couldn't find it here! I asked the nearest Home Depot employee, tall white older man, if he could help me, he cheerfully said sure, and then does a spin and pulls the item from where it was hanging and hands it to me! I asked another worker, younger large African-American guy, if he could make a key for me. He's so cheerful, I almost thought he was being sarcastic, but he was great! I purchased a new Traeger Pro 575 grill on Saturday 4/15. Part of that the purchase was the offer of free assembly, and that the new grill would be available by Wednesday 4/19.I arrived to pick up my "new" grill, and instead they presented what was clearly an open box item. This store attempted to bait and switch my new grill with an open box item that was stored out side. How many other people have missed this switch and received "open box" in lieu of newly assembled? Sure, they gave me weak excuses that failed to understand how this undermined confidence and trust. Bottom line they lied, and when presented with the gravity of the deception they had nothing to offer but an apology and I could get the new one Tuesday. This is one of the busiest Home Depots I have visited. We stopped in one Saturday about a month ago to look at flooring options, for what we were looking for the options were limited and not of the quality I generally expect from Home Depot. I found this location to lack the customer service I'm use to at other locations, where there seems to be someone at every turn asking if you need assistance. I'm not saying anyone was rude, they just seemed preoccupied with other things than assisting customers. I can say this location was well stocked with various items which is good. If I was in the area again and needed to stop in, I would but I wouldn't go out of my way to go to this particular location. read more

I was greeted at the door and started to wonder around to look for my things I needed and some I didn't need of course. I was asked by a nice guy named Garrett if I needed any help I told him yes and asked my question. He was very knowledgeable and gave me great advice. Then I headed down to the wood department where I asked Tyrese for help with some paneling for a bathroom. He even offered to help cut it the way I needed it to be cut also got me a cart to put it on. Then on my way to check out there were two employees that I have checked out with one named Will he was super helpful and motivating the other I did get her name but she was super sweet and really funny. I have a feeling she talks to everyone the same way so I'm sure she stands out. I recommend this home depot to everyone even if you live in a different area. read more

I order double garden doors to be installed for my home, paid to have them installed, Home Depot has 3rd party installer. He came out and the doors are uneven. Raki the manager over the department could never be reached. Amy her person could not do anything without Raki. I sent her pictures, video and got no response for 3 weeks, RF construction sent the inspector out, was the same person who installed the doors. RF construction and Home depot decided that the damage to my patio door by the installer wasn't worth them doing anything because my video showed the patio door without damage and after the installer came out and put u the storm doors and there was damage couldn't of been their installer. Pictures don't lie, do not order anything from Overland, MO Home Depot, the warranty and service is worthless. Raki manger of windows and doors bill not help, Marc Buxton over installation will not help. There about selling and never following up on your satisfaction. Now there blaming the manufacturer. I was renting a Penske moving truck from this Home Depot location, to move my 80-year old mother-in-law across the country. We had reserved and pre-paid for the truck using my mother-in-law's credit card. When I went to pick up the truck, the woman in charge, Shannon, refused to give us the truck without the physical card. Remember, the truck was paid for already. I had the card number, and she refused to punch it in to the machine. Even though another employee, Adrianne, told us it was easy, and offered to punch the card into the machine for us, Shannon refused to allow it. I was forced to drive 40 minutes back to my mother-in-law's house to get the card. The movers, who we were paying hourly, sat and waited. Shannon was rude and unhelpful. She also refused to accept our AAA card discount, even AFTER I got AAA on the phone to verify that our card was valid. Adrianne, who was great - helpful and friendly - manually gave us a 10% discount in the end, and did her best to overcome Shannon's rudeness, obstinance, and bad customer service. If Adrianne was in charge, I'd consider renting here again. But as it now stands, I wouldn't come back. read more

The Universe's great joke on me is that, despite my intense loathing for big box stores, I spend much of my time and money in the home improvement big boxes. Well, such is the state of things today. So, I was quite pleased to discover the Home Depot in Overland. It is conveniently located just off 170 at Page and it is a bit hidden from Page. I don't know if it is the hidden location or what, but this is much better than the other Home Depots that I used to use (eh on Kingshighway and blech on Hanley). Anytime I've been there have not been the huge crowds of Hanley. Even better, there are tons of people working here and they are very friendly and helpful. What a pleasant surprise! read more

We've been rehabbing for 15 years and visited every Lowe's and Home Depot between O'Fallon, IL and O'Fallon, MO -- and the Overland Home Depot is, without question the best HD east of I-270 (the Chesterfield HD near Chesterfield Airport takes top honors!). For lawn and garden, this is the standard for Home Depot locations in metro STL. We've never had a problem with a plant, shrub or tree from this location. The lawn and garden department manager at this Depot knows what he/she is doing and it shows. Overall, the store is incredibly clean and well-stocked. The staffers help where they can (as much as you can expect from Depot) and everyone is always pleasant. While the greatest joy of my life would be to never again step into a Depot or Lowe's, at least with this location, I can count on above average merchandise, superior green goods and service with a smile. The only bad thing about this store: They play their music, usually bad 70's music far too loud, making it hard to carry on a conversation or ask questions of the staff. But, in Home Depot terms, that's a pretty minor price to pay, compared with some of the rudeness and filthy isles found in other locations. Bottom Line: If you don't want to take a long, long drive to Chesterfield, this is the Home Depot to hit! read more

After spending hours and hours trying to cancel an order for a washing machine, and being assured by a supervisor he would take care of it and call me - a huge delivery truck pulls up this morning with that washer! Which was fine I didn't have a problem asking someone else for help but when I found another employee he wouldn't help me because it wasn't his department. This Home Depot is HORRIBLE. Once I finally found the wood I needed for my project, getting it cut was a nightmare. The employee who cut our wood got nearly every dimension wrong - all of our pieces were half an inch or more off, leading to hours of work at home. Additionally, the process took an hour and a half, mainly because the employee kept leaving the saw to take personal phone calls. I am extremely disappointed in this Home Depot and will do everything I can to take my business elsewhere. read more

Just exceptional customer service. Recently had our 2+ year old lawn mower repaired as it was idling rough and dying. We were called and said it was repaired however we learned the next day (after taking it home) that when given a workload it would still idle and die. Chance (customer service), Mariah (management) and Joe (equipment repairs) all worked as a team to get our lawn mower working at no extra cost to us for the inconvenience. That took the sting away from having to drag the lawn mower back to the Home Depot. I love this store for the people who work here!! Lawnmower is working great again! read more

Home Depot is not customer focused and only care about their "policies". It took them a month to schedule delivery, another 3 weeks to schedule the installation, and then another 2 weeks before the installers were able to get out...only to tell me that they wouldn't install because my carpet had, what they assumed were, pet stains and said it was unsanitary for them to remove the carpet. The stains were not pet stains as we clean those up almost immediately if they happen (my pets are all well trained)...I have triplets and most of the stains are "kid" stains (spills, dropping food, etc). I will never use Home Depot for anything again. read more

I totally agree with Kasem. The paint department is horrible!!! The older woman that works the counter is the rudest and slowest person on earth! She was also either unknowledgeable or deceitful. She told me that my almost white couldn't be re tinted because it already had color in it. I said I was aware of that but I wanted it more gray than white. She said, "Well we can't do that." What a waste of time. I took the paint to HD in Bridgeton and of course it was re tinted immediately. read more

Was told "they have them in the stores that no one will buy them, Hanley and overland". What does that mean!? Is the weather different in Maplewood and Overland than Chesterfield?!
