I rented a flatbed pickup truck which was great. It had about half a tank of gas filled and when I went to fill it back up the gage wasn't registering gas even after cycling the keys multiple times. Ended up filling the tank up by accident and as I drove away from the gas station it then registered. After dropping it off I asked if there is anything they could do to help get some of my money back since i filled the tank up and they only offered a 15% discount which wasn't much at all. I added an extra $60 worth of gas by accident. I get it i made a mistake but dang doing their job by filling the gas all the way up and can't help out any more and the gage not working properly. read more

I bought two nuts and two washers that were one size too big. I went to the store today to exchange those for one size smaller. They were each $.19 apiece. These were loose stock in a bin, not packaged. They refused to allow me to exchange them for the smaller size. forced me to go through a return line for a . 76 refund. And then I had to re-purchase the correct size and go through the cashiers line, a different line. The cashier refused to check me out because I was complaining about the policy that forced me to re-purchase these items and going through the return line for a . 76 refund. It was a waste of time and not good for their business on a busy Sunday to waste time on such trivial returns. Of course she did not care. She acted like she doesn't have to listen to Customer complaints. If I can't complain to the associates who am I supposed to complain to? if you don't want to hear complaints then find a different job then customer service. This employee is entitled and rude. Absolute joke! How does someone in returns not know their policies? And if they are answering the phone regarding returns they should know or not be in that department. I got gifted an over the range microwave which is completely the wrong size for a single wide mobile home. I called about returning it I was giving all wrong information. She told me to bring it in to the location it was purchased (which was the one I called) looked up the order number everything. Told me to bring it anytime. I asked her even if it's opened? And how long do I have to bring it back. She responded yes anytime just bring it here and we can return it. It's almost bigger than my back seat. I went to the electrical dep. and stood around waiting for 10 min. for an employee to help me so I went looking for help and found a nice blond lady and she called someone on the P.A. I waited for around 20 min. and nobody came to help. and because my legs and back were killing me I had to leave. maybe you should install benches in all the aisles so your older customers can have a place to sit while your employees decide to do their job. Went to get tile for my kitchen and bathroom and vanity for bathroom too. Employee tried to sell his head wrap and talked about his new handyman business. Didn't get help about tile went to the bathroom section for a vanity nope no help. Best help I got was the garden section. The East Palmdale Home Depot is by far the best in the Antelope Valley and Tehachapi. Richard Rodriguez's knowledge and customer service is exemplary. He was helpful with a complicated and lengthy pro order and submitted it to the bid room, while being friendly and patient the whole time. My GF and I went into the Home Depot in Cerritos to buy carpeting for ourentire entire two story house. We went in at around 11:30 am. We were looking to buy about 1,500 square feet of a high -quality pet- proof carpeting in 3 separate colors along with the heavy duty pet froom plastic sealed under padding. No small change sale. The carpeting was almost 10.00 a sq yd. The padding was also about twice as expensive as standard foam padding. There was no one in the department. We decided to wait for a few minutes in case the salesperson was in the bathroom or checking on something. Fiftreen minutes goes by and no one shows up. At the half hour mark, I go to the customer service counter and ask to locate someone for us. Another 10 minutes and we are starting to get a little riled. No onwe showed up and no one was paged. On the third visit to customer service, I was told "oh, the person in that department went to lunch 20 minutes AFTER we entered the department, which means they were in the break room or bathroom and made zero effort to check the department for customers or to advise management to place someone in the department to handle customers. We let the management know after a LONG wait for him as well that we WERE going to buy a decent amount of carpet, padding and installation but THAT store would NOT be making the sale. We drove to another HD and the entire experience was entuirely different. THAT store and salesman made a sale for almost 10,00.00. The installers luckily had one guy who spoke English as I had to explain how I wanted the edges of the padding sealed together with heavy duty plastic sealing tape so there were no gaps in the water tight padding. Many years ago I worked in a single store home center in Van Nuys, CA. caled Chandler's. Each department ALWAYS had at least one well versed salesperson on duty at ALL times. In addition, EVERY salesperson in the store went through an apprenticeship program until the management was CONVINCED that you KNEW about the department you applied for. Each clerk was TRULY experienced in their field and we all worked to give the customer excellent, knowledgeable information and help. Reading these reviews is evidence that MUCH more needs to be done to organize the staffing of so many stores to provide a solid knowledge base, inventory knowledge and some major programs to educate ALL departments of the store about customer service. read more

So I went in to purchase bathroom remodel materials total of $2400.00 approx I paid $1900.00 with a gift card I had and the rest in cash (ATM Card), after words we a problem getting one item so I was given store credit. I found a comparable item from them for less but now they would not give me my balance on the their gift card in cash (or back to ATM card). I spoke to the Ass. Mgr. Louie and he basically told me to go pound sand. I'm glad to see they have so many customers that they can piss people off at will, especially when they keep your money and only give you Home Depot money. All my next purchases will be from Lowes and Hope Depot can go pound sand. Know that I planned to make additional purchases Home Depot to complete my project. I am an Attorney at Law. I have been shopping in stores for over 35 years. God only knows how much money I have spent shopping. I have spent probably tens of thousands of dollars in Home Depot over the years. I had a little project I wanted to do over the weekend, so on Friday evening I went in to Home Depot and spent a few hundred dollars on parts. I started my project yesterday and discovered that one of the parts was the wrong part. I brought the part, placed in its packing, one day after purchase, back to Home Depot along with the receipt. They asked me for my ID which I thought was kind of odd. To make a long story short, they told me that my return was rejected and they gave me a receipt type printout that has an 866 number on it to call. Further, the printout says that I will not be able to return any items at Home Depot for the next 90 days, and that after 90 days it will be re-evaluated. Of course, I called the number and they are only open Monday - Friday, etc. It appears to be a 3rd party company that Home Depot is using called "The Retail Equation," that was responsible for Home Depot not allowing me to do a valid return. I found their website at http://www.theretailequation.com/ . Apparently retailers are now hiring this company to determine whether they will allow returns to be made at the retailer. I have never heard of such a service or thing. I suspect they have me on some kind of list. I know they have made a mistake, or there might be identity theft going on. Whatever it is, can you imagine if I made a several thousand dollar purchase and this happened? Who wants to shop at a store that may not allow you to return anything for any reason? I asked to speak to the manager, he refused to do anything. Basically Home Depot ruined my weekend project and I may be out a hundred dollars because they are refusing to allow me to return an unopened, undamaged product which I have the receipt for, the next day. The blatant refusal of Home Depot to return something a day later with a receipt at least to me is unheard of. I am warning all of you here and now, not to shop at Home Depot because based upon my experience, you may get stuck not being able to return something that may be defective, or something that may be the wrong size, the wrong type, etc. You too could get stuck holding the bag for hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Unless this is made right, I will take my money to Lowes and to other stores. I will never set foot in Home Depot again. Home Depot and the Retail Equation just pissed off the wrong attorney. I am going to first start off by warning all consumers not to shop and Home Depot because they may not be able to do a return. I will then take any and all appropriate legal action against anyone involved in this fiasco so that ordinary consumers do not have to go through what I went through.
