Wow! Came here (after going to their competitor) to purchase interior doors for a new house. Steve was just beyond a pleasure to work with. He was patient and knowledgeable and gave me ALL my options. Annette (the supervisor) was also just so happy to help. At this point I feel like I live here and there are other Home Depots closer to me but I'll drive extra just for these two jems. They both have customer service down to a brilliant science. Steve has made this experience such a pleasant one without making me feel like a burden. This is the Home Depot to go to. Went for some plumbing supplies. Asked for some help looking for what I came for and was told to go to aisle 49. Great, found everything in the correct area but not what I was looking for which was on the website and said was in the store. Asked a second worker to call for someone to help me with the plumbing need I had. She directed me to the wrong aisles of 47&48. No call for assistance or assistance from her. Then pass another worker. She actually called for someone through out the entire store to come help me in the aisle. So thank you for her, seriously she deserves a thank you. Waited another 5-8 minutes and watch countless workers pass by. Not a single person came to help me. Walked out in serious frustration as workers walk around aimlessly seeming to try and find a purpose of why they are even working there. Not a pleasant experience. Go somewhere else. I understand certain workers are for specific areas but no one would or could or even tried to help with me. The only help I got was by being told what aisle to look in and the woman attempting to help me by calling someone to come to my aisle and assist me. Seriously don't waste your time. I've been here several times and always had a pleasant experience. The location is easy to find and there is plenty of parking. The store is huge and the workers seem knowledgeable about their sections. Their prices are fair and the aisles are organized. It can get extremely busy and they are closed on Sundays. Robert in the carpet department is by far the most helpful person ever!!! He explained the various carpets, padding, and installation promotions in such a way that was very easy to understand. He's been with Home Depot for several years and I took comfort following his suggestions. I have been working on some home improvement projects so I have found myself frequently at Home Depot. I particularly been coming in to by paint and the paint staff has been so helpful and friendly. I had questions about the correct type of paint to paint stairs and they went out of their way to show me where it was and what kind to get. I also needed several cans of paint mixed and they were just very patient. A++ for the paint department. read more

I bought carpet from them that came with free installation. Paid over $2000 upfront. About 3 weeks later they deliver and install. No issues, they did a good job. That should be the end of me buying carpet. About a month later I get a phone call requesting that I pay them another $230. They are not able to explain why I owe them this money. I was at work and said to send me an explanation as to what I am paying for in the mail. No explanation as to what they are seeking me to pay them ever comes. I do get a couple more telephone calls, which I let go to VM and did not return the calls I did look over my paperwork and there is nothing to suggest that I owe them money. They have not provided me a reason for why I owe more money. Get a letter the other day saying they are referring it to a collection agency. I call Home Depot up and they are completely unhelpful and have no idea what is going on. Completely ridiculous. Get it together. read more

A majority of my time was wasted looking for employees for help. When I would find someone, they would say maybe it's in __ aisle. They would not help me look for any of the items needed and were generally wrong, causing me to have to seek out multiple people and go back and forth between aisles searching. Some personnel were standing in groups and would just walk away together after telling to try an aisle. It was incredibly unhelpful and frustrating experience. If you're doing a project and need advice, this is not the place to go. I have yet to meet anyone in this store that knows anything about do it yourself home projects. All they do is point to where things are and continue their conversations with their fellow employees that they spend hours and hours with each and every day. This is not what The Home Depot was first established on. It was built on the idea that they employ people that care and understand your need as a home owner to DO IT YOURSELF. I sat w the kitchen department and planned out our entire kitchen. We ordered everything from them. When we got the cabinets delivered and installed (by our own contractor), many of them had these open seams on them... very visible and open right by the knobs... on almost every cabinet. When we called to get an answer, we were set up to have a conference call w "American woodwork", the cabinet company. Both Home Depot and American Woodwork defended their terribly looking cabinets, saying this is what happens w any "painted cabinet". I've seen a lot of redone kitchens w painted cabinets and none look like this. American woodwork offered to send me new ones but "can't guarantee it won't happen again". Additionally, my contractor is done and gone. I'm not paying him again to come reinstall new cabinets and redo the handles/ knobs. Home Depot really dropped the ball and offered no solution. They also claimed they told me this could happen... who would agree to spend almost $10,000 (for a VERY small kitchen) on cabinets that could separate?!?! Terrible customer service, ugly kitchen cabinets, would never ever use them for a Reno again. I would stick to your local kitchen stores. I was there on Saturday, February 16, 2019, I experienced horrible customer service on the floor. I observed employees being rude and extremely unprofessional to other customers as well. Employees like to congregate and hold personal conversations, while they are pretending to be doing something, in order to ignore customers who are looking for help on the floor. When you do ask for help, employees act like they are doing you a favor. This Home Depot hires a lot of unprofessional young men who obviously don't take the job seriously. I reported my experience to a manager named Jessie in the Seasonal Department where I had an issue myself, and he was more concerned about having the employees back then anything else. I will never go to this Home Depot location again. I thought the Paterson, NJ location was bad, but the Home Depot location in Paramus, NJ takes the cake!! read more

This is the worst Home Depot I've bin to in years, they are completely inexperienced. And the fact that I actually work in construction and buy materials there all the time, is of no value to them. They are completely incompetent and still treat you with attitude. Especially at pro desk, for example my credit card declined and they went to great lengths to check my identification and make sure I wasn't using someone else's credit card. I felt extremely offended. I also suffer from anxiety attacks so I started shaking and they sarcastically asked me if I was nervous for any reason. My father and I owned a construction company and we buy more than $100,000 of materials each year, and I will let you know that I will never set foot in another Home Depot again read more

This review is for the entire "Home Depot Kitchen Design Center," and more specifically the service provided by the Home Depot Paramus NJ store. I was given a hard time from the start - with scheduling delivery and dealing with a third party resource; and upon my cabinet's arrival - found that two of the major cabinets ordered were missing. I tried calling the store every day for a week - and was constantly put on hold, hung up on, and never able to reach someone. When I finally did, I would be "promised to be called back" - and never received any follow-up. We finally arranged for Home Depot to replace this cabinet - but now I am paying my contractor for the additional weeks (they can't ship this for over two weeks), and am not even being compensated for the inconvenience. I went into the store today, and dealt with a less than helpful "Ginny" in Kitchens & Cabinets. She threatened me and told me that I am lucky this is being done for me and that Home Depot is paying for the replacement. She also doubted me that the cabinets were even lost in the first place. Should I be doubted because of their poor service and outsourcing? Should I be expected to pay for the replacement cabinets on my own? Am I really so "fortunate" when now I'm adding over 4 weeks to my kitchen design process and letting yet ANOTHER maintenance payment be made without me even living there? The Home Depot in Paramus, NJ on Route 17 has proved to be less than capable in my entire kitchen process, and I hope you rethink when you use them to design your kitchen as well. read more

Home Depot does Not deserve even deserve 1 star. Absolute worst homeowner's shopping experience of my entire life. I purchased a $2300 LG fridge from here and with the first delivery of the item it was dented. So I had to wait for a second one a week later and the new unit was scratched again! I can't live without a fridge another day so I had to settle for some credit that I'm still waiting for. I had also ordered an LG washer and dryer for $2300 that was again delivered damaged - with my old washer and dryer disconnected, I'm now forced to accept the machines with the dents while i wait to deal with HD on reimbursement and/or replacement. Basically, the home delivery service HD uses is completely the opposite of white glove. The delivery guy who came twice and delivered damaged goods was rude, incompetent and obnoxious. The supervisors and dispatchers are equally useless. Dealing with HD on the issue has been a nightmare, trying to negotiate with the home delivery service on some acceptable resolution was a nightmare, and on top of all that, dealing with LGs service people in the Philippines is equally annoying. This experience has been traumatic and I will never ever purchase any appliances from HD again. I ordered new gutter for the front of my house and paid the man in charged of selling gutters for Home Depot. He came to my house to measure things out and I paid to him the initial payment with my debit card, he told me that it would take at least 15 days for the work to be installed. Time passed, and I received a Fed Ex from Home Depot telling me that our business was concluded and I owed nothing more. It took me a while to realize that the Fedex letter was dated 2008 instead of 2015. I was really busy as the care giver for my elderly mother surviving Cancer and I eventutally forgot about Home depot until a month later that the same amount i had paid with my debit card originally to the man who took the measurement many weeks before, was taken from my card again! and no delivery yet! . Now I had two enigmas going on, the Fed Ex dated 2008 and the recent withdrawal from my account. I called them and they said that they only had a record of an order for that day and that I had to wait "15 days" for the delivery starting on that date ( a month after I had payed and they had promised to deliver in 15 days!) They told me expect workers in a white ban in 15 days. They must had known they did everything wrong because the next day when I was no way expecting them, a white ban appeared with shady people telling they were sent from Home depot to do the job. I had to not go to work spent time of the phone trying to confirmed who this people were and before I got someone on the phone to confirmed it, the workers were already half done with the job. They did it so fast that I could not figure it out, they cut the maerial climbed on top of the house and did it and left. In the process they messed up part of my siding and they messed around with electric cables coming from the post in the street to our house. repositioning the wiring in sloppy manner under the corner of the new gutter. I have no idea what they did but it was done within 30 minutes. Later i found out that the Fed Ex letter dated 2008 was sent to cover their backs because the man from Home depot had reconized that the gutters I had order in 2008 for the back of our home had not met with their promised warranty as they were damaged for years already, so he inconspicuously had Home Depot to rush me a letter with Fed Ex making clear that everything was "ok" and "done" to my expectation in "2008". They were malicious about sending that letter dated 2008 on 2015, as to pretend that they were in contact with me in 2008. Bottom line i refused to pay the remaining balance for the installation of the gutters and that was that. THey just forgot about it after that. read more

I stopped by the paint center to have a couple gallons of paint mixed. The man and woman working behind the counter were efficient and helpful! I was also helped at the customer service desk by Carmelina and Stef. Both were friendly and went above and behind to help. Home Depot is a disaster. The one in Hackensack is even worse than the one in Paramus. The company really needs to learn how to manage. I ordered a frig from them to be delivered to a co-op in NYC . I made it very clear that the building had restrictions on delivery. It had to be delivered between 10-5 or they would be turned away. I got a call the day before telling me they would be there between 3-7:30. I called HD and they said they use a delivery company so they have no control of delivery time. I must have called the delivery service 10 times telling them it had to be delivered before 5. I was told by Jocelyn that she gave my message to her supervisor. Then I was told the truck broke down. No one gave a damn about satisfying a customer. The delivery men called me at 5 Minutes to 5 to tell me they're on their way & I told them delivery had to be by 5 & I was calling all day. They arrived at 5:30 and the building turned them away. The supervisor from the delivery company called me to tell me the building had restrictions. Absurd. Cancelled the order & went to PC Richards. They were not only cheaper but a delight to work with. Finally felt like a valued customer. read more

I have been shopping at this Home Depot since it opened. It must be around 20 years. In that time, I have renovated 4 of my own houses, as well as done some handyman work for family and friends. I have spent an easy $40,000 with HD, more than half that in the last 18 months. HD was always my supplier of choice until now. I had always been happy with Home Depot in general, but back in June I ordered Cherry Kraftmaid cabinets from this store and that was when the headache begun. When the cabinets arrived, I thought they looked darker than what I ordered. I checked the style and color on the boxes and it was what I ordered. I live 45 minutes north of the store and had taken the week off of work and I unfortunately second guessed myself. Since my electric was not yet hooked up in the kitchen, I assumed the color in the store must have looked lighter because of the bright lights, so I began installation. When I went back to work the next week, I stopped at Home Depot to check the sample. Sure as anything, the color was off. I called Kraftmaid (Masco) and spoke to my sales person at HD. Because I started installation, I could not return the cabinets. Fast forward 2 months, several visits and emails, Home Depot and Kraftmaid won't do anything for me. Their sample in the store is much different than what I got. BTW, I visited Lowes this past weekend and they had the correct color sample door on display. Can I live with it? I could. But I overpaid for what I got because it is not what I wanted or thought I was getting. Even a Masco rep who came to my house said that the door sample at HD (I should him a picture from my camera phone) did not look at all like the color I ordered. To summarize...I ordered based on an incorrect color display door, and now I am stuck with these cabinets. The supervisor from Masco basically told me it was my fault since I did not order my own sample door. Why should I if they have the sample display doors in the store? It was not suggested to me that I order one either. The Specialty Sales Department Store Manager at HD was no help. She referred me to deal with the cabinet company and did not respond to any of my emails that she was cc'd on. Nor did she reply to my last email directly to her and the Masco regional supervisor which stated if we cannot resolve this, I will have no choice but to see of Corporate HD and Masco will be more helpful. Neither person liked that I assume. It has been 2 weeks with no response. Terrible Customer Service in both companies! I went to home depot last night to fix a problem I was going to have with a delivery coming and the set-up for a the washer dryer hook up. I had already pushed this delivery out 2 months which I was told was the max. The associates really did try to help, but realized it was beyond their reach and called for the department manager, Martha. I heard them talking to her on the phone she clearly did not want to come over. I heard her say "just fix whatever it is, I'm on my dinner" After a couple of minutes the associate convinced her to come over. Boy, was she sour, knew who she was just by the look on her face when she came over! I knew immediately nothing was about to go right. I explained by situation very calmly. She goes theres nothing I can do!! This same situation happened to me and they did nothing for me and I'm an employee. I was like well I guess your going to loose a 1750 sale. So I recommended if I can return and rebuy the product for the same price in which I brought it to help extend out the delivery. Shes like we aren't the warehouse, theres nothing we can do. I said understand that, but you can make a reasonable accommodation. She just kept saying we cannot. everything was a a no no and no. No help at all! She seemed bitter about her situation and that she wanted to be on a her break. I will not be returning to this home depot in Paramus nj. In fact, I will only returning product here!! read more

You are Not going to believe this. Talk about fraud! My wife and I went to The Home Depot February 17th and spend over $5000 on new kitchen appliances. I paid for installation as well. Last Saturday ( almost a month later) the Home Depot delivery/installers arrive with the appliances. They walked into the kitchen, looked around and let us know they cannot install the refrigerator or the dishwasher due to the connections. The water line to the ice maker is flex. They do not "touch" flex lines and they tell us This is part of their agreement with Home Depot. I point out that on my receipt they charged for flex tubing for the water supply. Half hour later on the phone with Dayla from the Home Depot customer service, nothing doing. The delivery guys leave with the appliances. The customer service says we'll give you a refund (a month later) and we have nothing but aggravation. So, the store manager calls and says they can try to re deliver, but no guarantee it will go any differently than the first try. REALLY !! I used to live in the Home Depot. They no longer care about the DIY consumer. I guess they only cater to contractor business. So, no appliances from Home Depot. We were definitely lied to ( truth in advertising) and plan on notifying the FTC and AG's office, division of consumer affairs. I am sure nothing will come of this, but we are pissed and will tell everyone we can that they are a FRAUD. I am heading to Lowes!!! read more
