I ordered a new refrigerator and paid extra for them to "professionally" install and move my old fridge to another room. I had to work, so my mother in law was there. They brought a refrigerator that was so dented up that I would have NEVER accepted it. Then they took my glass door off the hinges to get the fridge in my house. 3 feet away from the front door is French doors where there was a clear path from there to the kitchen! Then, instead of moving my fridge outside downstairs where they were asked to move it, they TOOK IT! HOME DEPOT STOLE MY PRACTICALLY NEW FRIDGE! Now I'm told they can't bring it back, and I'm offered $40 refund for haul away!! $40 for my old fridge? I was told a higher up manager would call me in 24-48 hours, and I've yet to receive a call. It's been 5 days! I'm still waiting on my undented fridge, too! I'm seconds away from reporting my stolen fridge to the police and calling the BBB. WOW, I am so surprised at the low reviews. My husband and I have had really great experiences at this HD. My first visit they had free hot dogs and bottled water as you walk in the store so yeah, maybe I am slightly biased.... :) Seriously though, the service has been as good and sometimes much better than our old HD in Roseville. We purchased a Rheem hot water heater with the installation. DELTA MECHANICAL, was the installer, super nice guy but the hot water heater did not make it 24 hours before lights and alarms starting going off. DELTA MECHANICAL business card is out of Mesa, AZ as is the phone number. After paying $2000 we still have no hot water and have to wait for another service call. I will buy from a smaller store that has their own installation team in the future. read more

Older lady working in the customer service department was totally unprofessional. And I sympathize because I used to work for the Home Depot on power inn in Sacramento doing returns I was a lead so I understand what can happen but when I came to return a generator that has done nothing but give me trouble trying to start it after I followed the proper protocol she gave me a hard time and laughed at me because I have a disability. So I told her she was rude. I have had surgery for a torn rotator cuff as well as hand surgery for a split nerve. And when explaining to her that the pull start does not work and how it has caused me pain she laughed and refused to return the item even when I have only had it since august 22nd. I asked for a manager and received a total opposite response to what she told me. He was polite, he listened and seemed genuinely concerned. While she wanted to complicate a situation he wanted to find a resolution. I believe his name was Arthur so for him thank you for not having a smug attitude like the other lady I do understand after having worked for the company how people are shady but this was not one of those instances. As for the lady she needs to re-evaluate herself if she's miserable doing her job and that's how she wants to treat anyone she should not be in that position. She is the face of your business and today I had to question whether or not I would continue going to Home Depot after her disgraceful attitude. Went to the pro desk to order a pallet of cement. Nice friendly guy. He processed the order for a 7:30 delivery the following morning. All seemed good. Around 5 AM on the morning of the delivery i noticed he wrote the order for a pallet of concrete mix. Not what i ordered. So i drove to HD and saw them loading my pallet. I signaled to the delivery manager loading the truck. He saw me and completely ignored me. So I ran up to the driver and knocked on the door. Quick discussion to not deliver the pallet since i needed to redo the order. For full disclosure the truck was moving about a 1/2 mph. So now I'm inside redoing my order and the delivery manager tells me how i endangered his driver. I'm thinking i paid $79 for this delivery with a boogered up pro desk order. If the delivery goes out i have no leg to stand on. We have a mild argument about safety. Skip ahead about 40 minutes. My new order is completed, with my credit and a delivery time for the following morning. By the way i got another 7:30 delivery. What luck but not really. You see with a vindictive delivery manager who knows when the order will arrive. As I write this review my delivery is already 4 hours late. A 7:30 delivery means you are first or second off the truck otherwise why give such a specific time. Give a time window instead. My sister has called twice about the order and she was treated very rudely. I tried calling with my phone number but was unable to get through. This is the world we live in today. Customer service kinda stinks. Good news...just got a call that my pallet will be here at 11AM. Taking a pause for a moment while i wait for the delivery. Delivery complete and the driver was the same guy whose door i tapped on. We spoke and i apologized for startling him. I stopped in this week to pick up some building materials for a siding project. I was shocked to find the building material section of the store an absolute mess. There were carts of miscellaneous scrap materials, wood messes and floors not swept, etc. I was looking for a flat cart and asked a worker if an empty one in the middle of the aisle was available, he told me to ask another employee who looked at me as though I was the stupidest guy in the store. I have read a lot of the reviews and agree that the customer service is very poor at the store. That said, I got what I came for and left the store promptly. I am a contractor and have been going to home depot since it opened in Northern California. I have been in many of their stores and the home depot in Placerville is by far the best! Every time I enter the store the employees greet me and ask if in need some help. When I am leaving the store an employee will approach me and ask if I need help loading my materials. Live in Somerset and remodeling my bathroom and ordered a 72 inch vanity online from Home Depot . Paid upfront, received email that would be delivered on 7/27 between 8am to 9pm. It never showed up. Next morning call customer service, they could not get the delivery service (t force) to answer their call. Gave me number to call directly. Called an hr later , told would be delivered between 2-5pm. Never showed up. Called again and told delivered by 9pm. They could never tell me where the vanity was, where the drivers were, nothing. Morning of the 29th called Home Depot customer service and told again would be delivered possibly today. Again never showed up. When told to cancel, was told could not because vanity had to be delivered!! This is outrageous!! People beware of ordering with Home Depot online!! Also when asked to talk to a supervisor they would not respond so my assumption is that they are trained to keep the customer from escalating. read more

Every time I go there, I am so lost and luckily for me there is always someone willing to direct me to where I need to go. I went there on Wednesday just before they closed and was looking for a couple things, a level and something to fix a tire on a garden cart. I found the level and was then directed to the garden area for the other item. There I found Mr. RAY C.! He not only directed me, but he went out of his way to actually take me to the product I was looking for. He was very nice and knew what he was talking about!! Premier Products Management is the third party used by Home Depot to deliver a new refrigerator to our home and remove the fridge it was replacing. Home Depot stated we would get a call 30 minutes before the delivery. We never got one. They were scheduled for delivery between 10 am and 2 pm. As it got close to 2 pm, we called the delivery number posted by Home Depot. After an hour or so on the phone, and to make a long story short, the delivery truck decided they did not want to come a quarter mile down our rural road. We learned that the delivery men did not call us because they had poor cell service. So they just left and did not contact us. Was anyone going to contact us?? At the very least, a common courtesy would be to call us when they did get cell service. Very poor customer service by the delivery company. It was over an hour before I arrived and not only was it not ready but they said it would be at least 20 minutes before they got to me. Instead of being angry I said I will return the following morning. They said it would be ready. Called a floor person who scanned the product and went to get a ladder to retrieve. About 20 minutes later i am tried of waiting and i noticed the sales person walking down another isle. I recently went into the store to schedule a flooring measure for tile. I first spoke with Jim he was very nice at first. Halfway through he began making sexual jokes. Which made me very uncomfortable. I ended up leaving and returning the following day. My Husband returned with me the following morning. We spoke.to Justin who set our appointment he was very knowledgeable and professional. We received a follow up call from Amber who did an amazing job getting everything scheduled. On July 11, I tried to use a coupon they emailed me that said it was good from July 10-16. It said it was an instore coupon. I was in the store. I had the required items ready for purchase. They said the coupon was no good. I waited for a manager who said the coupon was no good. There was not a lot of fine print on the coupon and my purchase clearly qualified for use of the coupon. I tried calling. It was a "Pro" coupon, so I called Pro customer service. I told him all about it, and he said he'd have to transfer me to the regular customer service. After the call transfer, the person I spoke with said I needed to talk to Pro customer service. I said I already did that. He transferred the call. After being on hold for about 10 minutes, I calculated that I had spent more of my time than the value of the coupon. Dear Home Depot, if you send out coupons that customers can't use, you are really making people angry. I have heard a rumor that Lowes is moving into the area. Fingers crossed! read more

I went to this HD today to purchase concrete and mortar mix. I'm a petite gal, so asked the clerk at the register if someone could load the car for me. "Sure no problem!" I waited about 5 minutes before a young man began loading a large order of lumber and other items into another customer's car. He made it clear that he was not "a loader" Another HD employee came by to assist and despite the fact that I was standing by my car with the trunk opened, when they were done, they walked away! I asked the first young man if he would also load my car. He said "I would, but I have to clock out or I'll be in trouble". I went inside and told the clerk that no one was loading for me. She said "Well, I don't know if we have any loaders here now". After five minutes or so another young man came out and loaded my car Total time at HD for 3 bags of concrete and 2 bags of mortar- 35 minutes. Ridiculous! read more

Very upset with this company my elderly and disabled father finally saved up the money for his new oven which had been without for months, then it took them three weeks to finally get someone to deliver it, when the delivery people got there they took one look at the old oven which is a slide in electric range with downdraft vent, said they would not install it and left the new one in my living room, when my father purchased the oven he was promised free installation and Hull a away. It took me three days on hold for 45 min at a time to get somebody on the phone at Home Depot to tell me finally after 3 days of calling and getting the run around, that the 3rd party company that they hired does not do installation!!!!! this is unacceptable you cannot offer free installation and Holloway if that is not what is going to happen. I've noticed a disturbing and capitally annoying trend developing at this location. On two recent visits, I've been solicited by people who are either Home Depot employees, or contractors, trying to trap me into listening to a sales pitch for (insert whatever it is they're selling...kitchen remodels, new roofs, etc.). These sales people are pushy, too. I say "No thanks" and they keep blabbing. On my last visit, 08 APR 13, some ass named Eric approached me and started running the spiel about how they're "rewarding" homeowners, blah, blah, blah.... I told him "I'm not interested, thanks" and he responded in a loud, snotty tone "Not interested in what!!???". I shot back "Sitting here and listening to your sales pitch!". Frankly, he's lucky I didn't stick my foot in his posterior. Attention Home Depot management. You need to rein in these wormy little vultures. Their sales pitches are a nuisance, an irritation and an annoyance. I dumped the items I was going to buy on a random shelf and left your store after that jerk mouthed off to me. We went in for a consultation on January 3rd for a kitchen remodel. We were told by the designer that it would take two weeks to get the design done, we were absolutely fine with that. Well after two weeks I was the one to reach out to her to see if she had finished the design to wich she said no, Give me another week. OK, again no problem. Every time I followed up with her (which I was always the one to follow up with her, she never reached out to me first) she would continue to tell me "it's almost done, I just need..." usually more measurements on areas we had already sent her measurements for numerous times, even after meeting with her and giving her all of our measurements and photos in January. It is now mid March, she is claiming that she sent me an email with the final details... No email to be found. Here's my warning to anyone who goes in there for a kitchen remodel & design, be cautious of the timeline. At this point I could have a whole new kitchen but instead I was waiting on her. We went with another local company who has been quick in getting everything in line and ordered. (Side note: The delivery guys and builders have been very nice and efficient. It seems it's the store manager, designer & contractor that have their heads where the sun don't shine.) As far as I'm concerned, HOME DEPOT OWES MY HUSBAND AN APOLOGY! ***It is now 7 months since our remodel. There have been a couple cursory attempts to resolve some issues and refund some money. They have still not replaced the damaged cabinet door--the new one is sitting in my living room in a box. The worker they sent out to replace the damaged crown molding did not understand the job and made it worse. It seems Home Depot management is hoping I will just go away. And, I have decided to do just that. It is not worth the stress. (How hard is it to say, "be with you in a minute".) finally, after about ten minutes, a guy walks up to the side of the kiosk and the girl, Ashley, immediately helps him. I ordered some appliances to be delivered to my home. The employee I was working with told me the size of the truck that was going to come, and I immediately told him that it wasn't going to fit up my driveway, and a smaller truck was needed. This is when he told about probably the dumbest policy I've ever heard. He informed me that even though I know the truck won't fit, that the bigger truck had to come first, then only after the bigger truck came to house to try to deliver the items, I would have to reschedule my delivery with the smaller truck. I live 2 hours away from where the appliances were supposed to be delivered, therefore I had to wake up extra early to get here for your early delivery window. Your idiotic policy has wasted my time, the delivery drivers time, the sales employees time, and has cost me money in gas to drive from Castro Valley CA, to Shingle Springs, CA. to get told what I told the sales person to begin with. Now the delivery is rescheduled for Friday. This means I will have to miss out on an event I've been planning on going to for months because I need these appliances ASAP. Not to mention having to drive back home empty handed today, and drive back up on Friday. So now your policy has not only wasted my time and money, it is now making me alter my plans after I spent a good deal of money at your company. This post is regarding the kitchen and bath design center. I would have given zero stars, but decided they deserve at least one star because of their two designers, Jim and Christy. These two employees are nice and attempt to help you. From there, it goes down hill. We suggest you NEVER attempt to have Home Depot design and install your remodeling needs. We have spent the past two months spinning our wheels due to their rude and incompetent contractor, Jerzy, and their lie-to-your-face management team. After several trips back and forth from Cool to Placerville, attempting to design our bathroom remodel and ordering the necessary items, we still have a gutted bathroom. To start with, the contractor made a grave error when measuring our space to make sure the vanities we designed would fit. He neglected to measure the plumbing! We have attempted for a month and a half to get a correct quote for the installation charges, but these estimates have been riddled with mistakes, duplicate charges, inapplicable charges, etc. Even after sitting down with three managers, the contractor, and the designer, the problems continued. During this meeting we were told that the plumbing issues with the vanities would be handled by HD, at no extra charge to us. One week later, we received an email (not even a face-to-face or phone call) stating that after further review HD cannot install our bathroom remodel, including the vanities that they assured us they would take care of! There are too many details and frustrations to describe in this little post, but please take our word for it, DO NOT USE Home Depot for your remodeling! Update, July 26th: After many emails and phone calls, our issues were bumped to the regional management level. We gave most of our bathroom remodel business to a different company--Kerrock, in Loomis--whom we highly recommend. They put in our new tub and shower, which look fabulous! Home Depot is scheduled to put in the vanities on Tuesday, but we had to compromise on the size of the master bath vanity. They are covering the cost of the installation. We are crossing our fingers that the installation goes smoothly. Update, August 28th: Overall, the installation went well, but we discovered that the sides of the vanities did not match the fronts. They are made by American Woodmark, and after reading customer reviews (should have done that beforehand) I see that some of the issues we have, many others had as well. We love, love, love our countertops and sinks. We went with LG Hi-Mac in Venus, installed by Blocktops (HD's contractor), who did a good job. This material is what we used in our kitchen and were so happy with it, we chose the same material for our bathrooms with a slightly different pattern. BTW, Kerrock made our shower and tub deck from the same material, so the master bathroom matches wonderfully. Another big blunder: we bought a new toilet from Home Depot and were appalled when we unpacked it and it was USED and dirty! (See pictures.) Once we got HD on our side, I have to say they became very responsive. Unfortunately, that took many, many phone calls and emails and tears!! And sadly, issues continued to arise, but finally we had people who could do something about them. In the end, we were given a gift card in the amount of 50% off the cost of the two vanities, and as I mentioned earlier, they covered the cost of installation of the two vanities and three faucets. read more

I've never had a hard time getting help here. The guys in the electrical section are particularly responsive - whether you need a length of cable or a combiner box, they'll point you in the right direction. They seem to have a great selection of everything. The tool section isn't huge, but I'll bet you can find what you need if you look hard enough. Overalls, the store is neatly laid out - hardly anything is ever out of place. Could there be a better selection of this or that? Sure... but the demand for obscure things like ring terminals for 2/0 cable probably isn't very high here. For being in the so called boonies, this Home Depot does well. Carry on, guys and gals. You have one very unhappy customer here. Placed an order on 7/22 that had an expected delivery date of 8/2 to 8/6. Checked tracking on Saturday, (4th), and it showed in transit. When it still wasn't here today, (7th), I check tracking and it says delivered. On the 19th. Three days BEFORE I placed the order. Call customer service and am advised that I had the wrong tracking number. Yeah, that is the tracking number you provided and linked in my email. And now the new delivery date is 8/13. Home Depot is Home Depot no matter where you go. Great prices, staff is pretty knowledgable in every department. Open early for the contractors in town. I have had a lot of good experiences with the special order people, they are thorough, and good at keeping the customer updated on changes. This Home Deot is smaller than others, sometimes this means that they do not have items that other HD's do. Some items seem to run out of stock sooner than other stores to. Generally speaking, I like Home Depot. read more

As usual with me, I'll attempt to be constructive so customers can make informed decisions about where the spend their money. That said, my recent order and delivery experience was very frustrating throughout the entire process. This includes having to stand in the store for over 2 hours while a billing error was corrected. It only took 3 tries. If you know what you need and where it is in the store, THD is a decent place to shop. They are well stocked, have a fair assortment and relatively well organized. The associates are friendly overall but not too helpful if you need in depth advice. THD, while not as clean, is much better than Lowe's overall since Lowe's likes to stock minimal quantities of basic items. In other words, if you shop at Lowe's, plan on going to a THD to get the reatof what you need. If you have a bigger project that requires special orders and deliveries, you may want to consider other options. I don't want to blame associates for my experiences. My observations are that there seems to be a complete lack of training for them and no ownership of customer service on management and corporate THD's part. That is, until the order and delivery process gets so ridiculously bad that management has no choice but to step in. And what's worse, for me anyway, is that they wanted throw money at the problem, when all I expected was a correct order delivered on time. I stopped shopping at Lowe's 2 years ago because of poor inventory and not being able to count on buying the same item 6 months later. THD had been getting my business until this recent 3 week long debacle. There are 4 keys to winning in a retail business: on time, in full, fair price and fix problems graciously asap.
