I am giving this high rating to Leslie's because of the fantastic care given to me by Eric in the repair shop. I spent $300 having Eric rebuild a pool cleaner and it did not work. After a weekend of failures getting it to work and taking it to another pool shop, I went back to Eric. He torn down the cleaner again and gave me advice that solved my problems. I had two pros visit my home trying to fix the cleaner and both failed. Eric's deep knowledge and good nature saved the day! Thanks Eric! read more

Service is sketchy depending on who is working and if there is more than one person in the store. Some employees seem knowledgeable and somewhat helpful, some are a complete waste of time. Pricing is RIDICULOUS!! From chemicals to parts, the pricing is outrageously high. They claim their pricing is because of the quality and offering OEM parts, which is complete BS. Alternatives do exist at a lower price and are equal in quality and original brand manufacturing. Lastly, they always seem to be pushing chemicals that I am uncertain have any real value. read more

I started at the El Dorado HIlls store looking for parts for our Pentair pool cleaner. I was very disappointed with the lack of service and genuine care for me as a customer. The young man who was "helping me" was completely disinterested in being at work. He kept his hands in his pockets and slowly walked around the store as he "looked" for a part for our pool cleaner (he seemed to be staring at the celling as he strolled through the store). He then told me to go to a different store for help. On the contrary, my experience at the Folsom store with manager Misty was great. Went in looking for parts, walked out with a brand new P39 Polaris pool cleaner! We live in EDH, but will take our business to the Folsom store moving forward. read more

Went in twice this week and there was a staff member, who may have been new, which is fine, but just blew off helping with our parts issue. In fact he was more eager to help the next customer, since he just needed to ring them up. If I go back, will request a different staff member. read more

I do not quickly go to Yelp to vent but with Leslie Pools in El Dorado Hills its long overdue that I post my concerns. As a qualifier, I grew up maintaining our family pools with my dad who was a chemist and pool chemistry I was taught getting it right was imperative. Now, having four pools myself I know what Im doing. The last two summers I have experienced the same level of what I categorize as just sell the customer something or act like you know what you are talking about. This location needs serious review by management and remedial re training of its emplyees. This location is three minutes from my house convenient but I will drive by to go to another location twenty minutes further. It is my understanding when shocking a pool one must consider the color of plaster and my go to has been liquid chlorine not power powder. Even when I am diligent to add any chemical to my pool equipment is running w sweep and I brush entire pool and never dispensing product that would accumulate. My pool surface which is a dark plaster has been ruined. Extreme modeling by them telling my use the Power shock. Solution from Leslie Pools was drain the pool, acid wash plaster by which you would not do in 107 degree temps. Suggesting draining a pool in these temps could result in cracking of plaster walls. BTW, i did not drain of acid wash. I will not follow such poor recommendations. Leslie mgmt it is time to step it up and own up the challenges at this location. This problem will not be going away by falling on deaf ears or looking away to avoid my problem. I welcome top mgmt reaching out to me for further specifics. read more

The assistant manager at the time, a tragic hipster, couldn't be bothered to talk to me directly so she shouted from behind a wall that they don't carry the parts to my two year old pool sweep because it's old and outdated.... It's only two years old, am I supposed to buy a new pool sweep every couple of months? I found the part online for $22. I won't be back to this lazy store anymore. read more

Amazing service today at Leslie's in El Dorado Hills! Misty was quite the multi-tasker in first diagnosing my pool sweep's issues, and then fixing it while training a new associate. Wow, she sure knew her stuff. She changed the wheels, replaced a bad bearing and all the while was super upbeat and personable. I haven't been back here in a while due to untrained and uninterested staff a couple of years ago but my pool guy suggested that I take the sick pool sweep there "because they are great." Well, they were and things sure changed dramatically in the past couple of years. One bonus...hiring Misty. Good source of talent you found, and I'm sure the "new guy," will be great as well! My robotic pool cleaner died after working diligently for about four years (RIP 'Robbie,' 2017-2021). I did some online research and found a replacement robot available at Leslie's. I went into this branch and contacted the store manager (Erik), who was very knowledgeable and explained all the upgrades that came with the new robot. Both Erik and another employee (Misty) guided me with the process to receive an online rebate from the manufacturer. I purchased the new robot (who is now named 'Chappie') and it was in the pool in an hour after some minor assembly. I'm very pleased with Chappie's performance and I'm very thankful for Erik and Misty's help. My pool is once again spotless! read more

Leslie's Pool Supplies is the BEST place ever to buy pool supplies. We got our first salt water pool and I had no idea what to do. The workers are so knowledgeable and if they don't don't a specific answer they ask someone and have delivered so much information. They taught me from scratch how to manage my new salt water pool. Since it's above ground it's next to impossible to get a "pool person" I've called them in the middle of dispersing chemicals confused and I always get calm help. They have taught me SO MUCH! This place is hit or miss depending on who is working that day. There are a couple of the guys that may not have much experience or knowledge, but at least they try to be helpful. There are two other workers that seem have a very poor attitude about work. Hard to get them to help. Almost like they hate being there. Was in the store this afternoon shopping for pool toys and was taken back by a very large cockroach, I called over to the staff and told the young lady and the older guy w/ the beard that a cockroach just hopped out from the shelf. The guy w/ the beard, I think his name was Brian, came over and killed the insect. They were quite embarrassed by this! Needless to say I feel bad for people who have to work in such conditions, seeing a cockroach during the day is not a good sign! Won't be back! read more

I recently received the BOGO countdown to summer coupon in my email. My son went to the store to purchase Fresh n Clear shock. He wanted 12 bags total buy 6, get 6 free. When he went to the register the employee told him it would be less expensive to purchase the 12 pack instead. Of course the cost of the 12 pack was almost double the cost of the bogo 6 individual bags. I went back to the store an hour later and talked to the employee. He seemed to be barely able to remember the transaction with my son and had no knowledge of the BOGO promotion as well as conveniently losing the coupon and refusing to honor it. At this point I told him that if he could not honor my original coupon I wanted to return the product he sold my son, and that I would not be returning to Leslie as a customer. I recently started taking care of my pool.....and today I went into Leslie's Swimming Pool supply and recieved excellent customer service and found everything I could every need for a pool and then some. They offer free water testing to help beginners learn how to balance the chemical levels in their pools. My only negative to this store, and probably any pool store, is that the prices for parts and chemicals are definitely inflated and somebody is making some big bucks as a result. read more

I recently had a warranty issue with a product I didn't even purchase from Leslies. Chuck was so helpful in contacting the company and arranging for the replacement parts which were sent out to me quickly. He had me bring the parts in and repaired the pool robot that same day. Nitrates? Drain my pool? Buy startup chemicals, etc? My usual pool supply in EDH was closed, so I though I'd try here... they tested my water as I said I had some yellowing. They reported I was near the limit on nitrates although the pool was barely a year old and I need to drain my pool and start over (and buy chemicals). I took my report and their suggestion to my usual place the next day along with a water sample. NOPE! Just some elevated metals which oxidized when I added chlorine. Used some metals removal, and now my pool is just fine. Apparently, many have had this scam pulled. They were absolute in their diagnosis and my needing to buy a bunch of new chemicals. Great customer service at this store!! We had ordered a new pump motor and a replacement mechanical shaft seal from a different company. When we received the parts, we found the seal did not fit our pool pump. We need to get the motor installed ASAP so I called Leslie's and spoke to Matt and explained our situation. Matt had me email pictures of our pump head and from the pictures determined which seal we needed and, knowing that we needed the seal ASAP, located the parts we needed at another store and had them hold it for us. Matt went above and beyond to help us, especially since we didn't even buy the pump motor from them. read more

I recently purchased a Pentair Inteliflow pool pump and a Pentair Clean and Clear filter at the El Dorado Hills store. Mark came out and reviewed my current setup, made some great recommendations on the piping and came back and installed the equipment. He did a great job, and I am impressed with the new operation. I should have probably installed the variable flow earlier, but PG&E's rebate finally moved me to action. Diane at the EDH store stayed on top of the installation and also handled the rebate. All in all, they made me glad I chose Leslie's. read more

They were taken to Superior Court and they lost the judgment for $3000 they must now pay for the $3000 in damages. Buyer beware. They are refusing to pay the bill I have legal representation but also have the option of having the sheriffs department go directly to their bank or store and withdraw the funds they owe me however I am in no hurry since there is 10% interest per month. I can linger this up to three years at 10% per month which is roughly $462/yr so if I wait one year that would be a significant amount of money not to mention the embarrassment of the sheriff dept involved in the bank or store. If I wait 3 yrs that would be $1386. Be very careful when dealing with these people they do not have your interest at heart. read more

Be aware the highly publicized "price matched guarantee" is fiction. I was shocked by the cost of a mesh bag for our pool sweep. I was comforted by the guarantee in store so a purchased only to find the same product 40% less on amazon. When I returned to the store the clerk simply grinned a said the guarantee doesn't include amazon. Needless to say this stipulation is not mention anywhere on the so called guarantee. I bought a fixer upper with a view and a duck pond in the back. At least that's what it appeared to be. I called one local pool shop owner who came over to take a look. He thought I should probably bury it, but he could get it up and running with all new equipment and plaster for about 25 grand. Neither option sounded good to me. I decided to go see what Leslie's pool service could do for me. I didn't even know that they were really in business to help you take care of your own pool. I met Jessie first. He gave me a free water test that showed the pool wouldn't hold chlorine and probably didn't have any hope of holding chlorine without draining a lot of water out of the pool. I followed those instructions and began working with Chuck, who manages the store. He coached me threw a 30 hour 5 step process. Once this was over, I could see a lot of improvement and I gained hope. The pool still wouldn't hold chlorine though. Chuck coached me thru clearing up my PH balance before starting me on a clarity regime. Last weekend my grand kids and I swam in my now beautiful/perfectly balanced pool. Thanks Chuck, Jessie and super apprentice Brady. I won't be paying anyone a monthly fee to do something that I can now do better myself (With Leslie's help). read more
