I had a problem with a portable $500 AC unit I bought from this location. Home Depot refused the return since it had been more than 7 days since I purchased it. The problem didn't start until 3 weeks after I bought it. Janet and the girls at the front desk were great, they called their manager Benjamin over to try and help me out. Benjamin was no help. Very harsh and rude. I tried to be reasonable. I told him I'd take store credit, or exchange it for an ac unit that works for what I need. I even offered to sign up for a Home Depot credit card if he took this return on goodwill. I asked several times is their anything we can work out. Someone has to be able to override this. He offered no help no advice. I point blank asked if he wanted to help me and his face said no, his words were uhh I can't help you. Finally he said you can call corporate but they'll tell you the same thing and it'll be a waste of time. Well I called corporate and explained the situation. They helped me find a different AC unit that will work for me. It was easy. No problem at all. It was NOT a waste of time. Home Depot corporate did the right thing and took care of me. We went in on this particular Sunday to get some painting supplies and a few other odds and ends. While the place was rather busy, service was rather good and we were in and out in a relatively fast amount of time. I want to applaud our checkout attendant, Karl. How did this Home Depot turn a 1 star review into a 5 star review? The can-do attitude of a manager named Sierra. We got a couple of Moen bathroom faucets with drains and stoppers for our bathroom remodel. Our contractor installed them and on one of the sets, the pop-up stopper did not work. I took it to customer service before the 90 day return policy had expired, but the worker there said there was nothing she could do unless I uninstalled both faucets, drains, and stoppers and brought them back. I was asking for a store credit so I could get a new stopper. She said I would have to contact Moen directly to get a new part. I asked to talk to a manager, and the worker told manager Sierra the situation over the phone. In less than 5 minutes, Sierra herself came to the front of the store with a Kohler brushed nickel pop-up stopper. It wasn't the same brand, but it looked very similar and works just fine. Rather than losing our business (we had spent over $600 at this store on items for our remodel), Sierra saved it and a lot of hassle for us by taking care of our problem with a $15 replacement. On June 26 I purchased a Cub Cadet Ultima 42 in zero turn mower on Line. Delivery was free and next day. Come Thursday morning(6-27) I received a call from the Port Ornage store they were attempting to deliver the mower but had diffciulties loading it on the truck so I would have to wait another day for delivery. I asumed the mower would still be in a crate! I got a trailer and picked up the mower later that morning. Upon arrival back home I discovered the Battery was totally dead, requiring a full day to charge. Scratch marks on the frame from chains used to lock thee unti up outside. The hitch on the back of mower had been somehow bent downward, needing to be replaced. The mower deck was also out of adjustment. and rust places on the frame. I spoke with an assistant manager about these problems and He gave me his name to call him back when I found out what it would take to correct these problems. Well I called and spoke to another manager who was to leave a message for Mike to call me the next morning. Well its been two day later and no call from anyone about my concern. I have 30 days to rturn the mower for a refund which is most likely what I'll do. You would think purchasing a new Zero Turn mower would not have these problem.... but guess I'm wrong. And it shows managements ability to help when needed. Dont buy mowers from HD, better to go to a local mower Dealer. read more

My mom ordered a gas stove from HD with install, the company they hired wouldn't hook up gas lines.. So they dropped it off and left without trying to provide any help. If you're going to sub a company to do your work, make sure they know how to first. Second make sure at least one of them knows decent English so they can explain the situation. This is not my usual Home Depot but it has now become the one I go to over Daytona Beach location. I usually go to Lowes in Ormond and know the store by heart. The selection is great and the place seams very new and well laid out. The customer service has been great each time I have stopped by unless they do not have an item and want to know when they may get it. If they do not have something the answer is "we get shipment in every day so it should be her soon". Unfortunately they have no inventory tracking system I guess at the store. That is fine since you can find things on line and what store has what before you head out. As long as the inventory is kept updated then it will be accurate. Overall a very good store. The access into this store is a bit of a challenge so plan your approach. read more

Checked web page to see 6 available privacy fence panels. Tried to call multiple times to verify availability. I was transferred to lumber department only to have the call dropped. (Hung up) Took the chance and drove 30 miles to the store only to find where panels were to be was empty. Asked an employee at the pro desk only to be referred to the lumber employee for help locating the panels. Lumber employee said "he'd have to check out back" At least 10 minutes go by and I see the lumber employee helping another customer, cutting plywood sheets and then going to the wood isle and discussing what wood to use. I walked up and asked if he had a chance to locate the panels. He just casually said no he hadn't had a chance to look yet. What's the store policy here? It was July 2nd 2022 that we paid to have our Kitchen redone. I am relieved to say 242 days later it is complete. The only reason it's done is because I took Home Depot out of the equation and started working directly with the contractor. It was because of him that he was able to get me the materials I needed to finish the project. And when Home Depot didn't know that I was working directly with the contractor they emailed me to say that we were still "working with the vendor" to get more parts and awaiting a response with an updated ETA". Lies! I spoke with the contractor a week earlier and he had everything I needed and we scheduled a date on our own. Don't get me wrong, The Home Depot team were great....until they got their money. After that, they were done and we weren't a priority at all. It was run around after run around. I am very appreciative to the contractors that helped us, but never again will I deal with any type of Project with Home Depot. Find a good contractor and deal with them directly. The sales staff at Home Depot must get a kickback on Cambria products by the way because they were pushier than anything I have ever seen. Almost maniacal. This place is great despite what all these other negative comments have to say. So you had one bad experience with a bad associate. People need to understand that not everyone is perfect and associates are not there to grab you by the hand and show you where everything is. Maybe look up at the signs when you walk in and guide yourself to what you need? No store is perfect, it's a big store with many employees and one bad situation should not lead to all you Karen's on here leaving terrible reviews. If you feel some type of way, maybe ask for a manager so they can clear up any mishaps before you go writing bad about the entire store. MANY and most associates here are friendly, very knowledgeable and would take the time out of their day to help you if you ask things nicely and not just walk up to them with your list of questions. Perhaps, greet them at the minimum and ask how they are doing before you go up to them asking questions as if they are robot slaves only there to clean your diaper. WAY over priced we found out after the fact, work quality was piss poor and many things had to be re-done, never happy with the end result. Very depressing. So I don't know what changed, but I've found myself choosing this store more and more over the local Lowe's over the past year or so because the attention to customer service seems to be the focus now. Every time I walk in the store (no matter the entrance I choose) I am almost immediately greeted by an associate who then asks what brings me in today. The department associates are just as helpful. This is a mixed review. I purchased paint at the Home Depot on Dunlawton Avenue, Port Orange. Customer assistance is a very difficult thing to find in this store. I went in Friday night with my young son and an employee in appliances got a phone call on a store phone. He was cursing very loudly and seemed to care less that everyone could hear. Tonight, when I went to purchase paint, I was pleasantly surprised to find an employee that was both friendly and helpful. Store employees are usually so scarce it took 20 minutes to find help on Friday evening. The employee's name was Valerie. She assisted me with choosing paint colors. While assisting me, another employee was rude and admonished her in front of everyone. I found the other employee's tone and the way she spoke to Valerie very unprofessional. She was standing around barking orders. Meanwhile, Valerie was assisting me in paint. Then, when we I went to order the paint, the guy in the paint department was rude to both me and Valerie. He snapped at her and me. This is unfortunately the norm in this store. Valerie is such an asset. This is the first time I've walked in had an employee offered to help me and I've lived in the area for 5 years and shop at Home Depot frequently. This store needs 20 more Valeries and needs to clean house with the rude, lazy employees that act disgruntled when you try to ask for help. read more

If there was an option for negative stars, I would give this Home Depot the worst possible rating. We spent several months designing a kitchen through this Home Depot only to be told that it was too complex for them to complete. They had no problem coming out and taking the $100.00 evaluation fee. They also had endless excuses for why they couldn't complete the job that they designed. I have a feeling the contractor "George" was upset that we had talked Home Depot down on some of his fees. We were specifically told by Fred the manager, that the contractor needed to make a paycheck to. So now suddenly we can not have the kitchen we designed, and Fred continues to be dishonest with us. He would not tell me why they won't install my kitchen other than he FEELS they cannot meet our needs. Smells fishy to me. I am going to the corporate office. All our calls have been routed to Fred and we are not allowed to speak to the Designer who designed a beautiful kitchen with whom we did form a great working relationship with as described by Fred. I know Fred is being dishonest and it's just that the Contractor George who installs for the region does not want to work with us because we have had someone else contracted to do the electrical and plumbing.
