Ordered a patio table & chairs. When the delivery was made the driver made a big mess in our brand new lawn driving on it with a fork lift. I called Home Depot and their insurance contacted me in a couple of days and paid for our original contractor to make the repairs. I sincerely appreciate them making it right. And, I love the new patio set. read more

Bought a few patio blocks just to try out and make sure they where what we wanted. Liked them and went back after about two weeks to get enough to do a big area. Price had more than doubled on the blocks. Guess we'll be buying our blocks somewhere else. read more

I had a very unsatisfactory experience with Home Depot. In hopes that my comments will assist management at this store to provide better training for their employees, here is a list of what went wrong: 7/30/21 It was very difficult to reach the flooring department. I had to call several times and each time I called I would be routed to the flooring department and then back to the customer service department since no one answered. This process happened multiple times per phone call. I asked to set an appointment to have a representative measure my basement so that I could purchase peel and stick vinyl squares and have them installed by Home Depot. The woman told me that it would cost $25 to have an employee come to my house and an appointment was set for 8/6/21. (Home Depot's competitors, Lowe's and Whitt Carpet One, did not charge me to have someone measure my basement.) 8/6/21 A man came from Home Depot and measured the basement. He had no knowledge about the flooring options that Home Depot could provide. He told me that an estimate for vinyl squares would be emailed to me within 48 hours. 8/7/21 I received a text from 844-836-3229 stating that my quote was ready. When I called, the man told me that he could not provide me a quote since the vinyl squares that I currently have on the basement floor were not available. I explained to him that I understood that since those squares were six years old. I asked him to choose a different color and provide me with a general estimate. He would not. He said that I would have to go to the Home Depot store and pick out a specific peel and stick vinyl product and call this number back in order to get a quote (which the text falsely told me was already prepared). 8/9/21 This morning I again called the number that was texted to me on Saturday and got a different response from the woman who answered. She said that Home Depot doesn't install peel and stick vinyl and that if I wanted a vinyl product, I would need to get sheet vinyl. I requested that she issue me a credit for the $25 that I had been charged since Home Depot was not going to provide me with an estimate. I had been given misinformation from the person who set up the appointment, the person who did the measuring, and the person at the toll-free number who I talked with on Saturday. She told me to call a manager at the Franklin Road location. I did and he reluctantly gave me the $25 credit. read more

I placed an online order, lt was supposed to be delivered in two weeks. 8 weeks later the order arrived. Wrong parts and missing pieces in opened packages. Wrong color on other parts. When I tried to return the part they refused stating no part number and open packages all what I had received. Some $100.00 worth of parts I lost money on I could use them. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM HOME DEPOT ONLINE AGAIN. AND I always go to Lows to shop first. read more

I bought several hundred dollars of Riobi products here in May, now they send me to Riobi to replace a defective battery rather than swap it out for one on the shelf. ....no more Home Despot for me. We had to get our electric Toro mower at this store since not every store has it in stock. It was pouring rain when we got there. The employee who helped us got a cart, loaded it, pushed it through the checkout for us AND loaded it into the car (under the lumber loading canopy). He was super nice the whole time and we were very satisfied with our experience. read more

I ordered a grill cover online for store pickup. After I arrived I stood at the order pickup for around twenty minutes while the one employee on duty (the other two behind the counter weren't addressing customers), was dealing with a man over some paint he'd ordered. Arguing over order, back and forth, neither seemed to care that this transaction was going on WAY too long and was holding up other customers. I thought the idea of order pickup online was to speed up the process? After waiting as long as I could stand, I turned and left. I won't ever order anything from Home Depot for pickup again, nor shop there. Wasting my time was not customer service. read more

The worst service ever. Placed Carpet order with 5 day guarantee and 3 days to measure appointment. Went with them because of this. Hours of phone calls a measurement, an extra trip to the store, a call to corporate and "faulty carpet" delivery and they say they cannot promise us when it could be installed now. We asked 10 days? No promises. No reason, no compensation. Order cancelled. read more

This store has made it impossible for a person with a handicap to shop at! I've a back injury that causes pain after walking or standing, the store has setup its shoppers flow that makes it impossible to shop at! Really feel they are violating the Americans Disability Act! read more

I was a die hard Home Depot customer until they really started pushing their fancy self serve check out. After that, I was meh about it. I am old school and I demand personal service but what sealed their fate for this review is their recent requirement that customers enter though one door (which is typically the closest to where they parked) and go out the other door. The doors are separated by at least 1/16 of a mile (330 feet). Walking all that way just to walk back... yeah, not going to happen. My time is valuable and I don't have a lot of it to enjoy freely. I walk as a recreational activity and few and far in between times I have to walk but not as a recreational activity but I certainly don't like to be told that I have to walk across the store, just to exit the building only to have to walk equal distance outside just to get to my vehicle. Though I don't agree with it, I get what they want to do. That whole "social distancing" thing but how about giving me some common sense credit. That door is enough for two people to pass though and the lobby in between the doors allow more than 6 feet in distance. For now, I am a Lowe's customer and up until recently, I despised Lowe's. At least they don't have self check-outs AND they don't dictate demanding that I waste my time when there is a much simpler solution. read more

The sales person was great. After that, all down hill. OK. I am new to Roanoke but do know there are mountains and steep drives. We ordered a full suite of appliances. Had to wait a week plus for deliver. Appliance outlet would deliver in 4 days. Anyway, we waited due to sales person being great. The delivery truck called and said they couldn't deliver as they didn't have emergency brakes on their truck. Another 2 days before they showed up. I wasn't here but my wife was. We paid for delivery and set up. I got back 3 days later. Washed clothes, all good. Dried them, not so good, they didn't hook up dryer hose. I called and they were going to be out on Saturday. Waited all day and No Show. I disconnected washer to pull out to hook up dryer. They didn't hook up refrigerator to water line. I hooked up and now I have ice and water. I used microwave, works fine. Turned on range. very slow to heat up on top. I turned on top oven. NOTHING. Turned on bottom oven. NOTHING. I called and return call was 2 days later with a promise I would get another call 2 days later. I get a call from some lady who didn't seem to care. I presume she has appliances and they work. I was told I would have to wait another 8 days for a replacement stove. I inquired as to why the small store can get and deliver a stove in 4 days and they were 8. I also informed her that it has now been 3 weeks since we started this ordeal. She said well you can cancel. OK and what. Why couldn't they speed it up to 4 days. I would say stay away and go elsewhere. Not sure who they contract out to deliver but they don't stand behind them. read more

We had a terrible experience with an appliance order with this company. We ordered a refrigerator and microwave from Home Depot on 7/5/19. GE Home Delivery Services is the supposed liaison between Home Depot and the 3rd party, contracted out delivery service, Forward Air. There were 5 scheduled delivery dates and there was something wrong each time. Our salesman neglected to tell us beforehand that the delivery people would not be able to connect the water lines, so we refused delivery. On the 2nd delivery, the refrigerator was dented, so they took the appliances back. On the 3rd delivery, they did not have the microwave or the upgraded, braided water line we ordered. On the 4th delivery attempt, they called and told us the truck broke down. On the 5th delivery, they did not have an order for the haul away of the old appliance, which we had paid for. After the 3rd delivery, I called Home Depot. A manager told me the order had been refunded. I talked with several managers at both Home Depot and GE Home Delivery Services, but no one could explain what happened, why our order had been cancelled, or why we were issued a refund. My husband checked his credit card statement and it does show that a refund was issued on 7/31/19. A manager at GE that I spoke with on 8/17/19 told me the order was cancelled on 7/15/19, which was actually our first delivery date. I cannot understand why, if our order was cancelled on 7/15, 4 more deliveries were scheduled. No one at Home Depot or GE knows what happened to our order. I talked to a manager named 'Bob' at GE on 8/19 to try and find out what happened with our order, and he has not called me back as of today (8/21). It's like our order slipped into a black hole, and no one was willing to accept responsibility for it and investigate what happened. And no one has contacted me to offer an apology. We will never order any GE appliances or any appliances from Home Depot again. read more

I have always been a loyal customer to The Home Depot in Roanoke, VA since it opened. I have always received exquisite customer service and have had no problems finding what I need when I come to the store. I am now sad to say that I will never shop at this location again. In fact, I will most likely be switching stores completely and shopping at the Lowes right across the street. Today I went into the store and was buying some general home repair kits, I was about done but had one more department to stop in, the lumber department. The customer service today was atrocious. A young man, Jesse, I believe was assisting me and he was CONSTANTLY on his cell phone. At one point he even started laughing at his phone while I was trying to seek assistance. He then told me to hold on. At this point I had not even told him what I wanted, but he was already telling me to hold on. He then made some extremely obnoxious gestures follow by rude comments at me. When I asked him if there was somebody else that could assist me he just walked away and left me without the product I came to the store for. read more

No customer service, I bought 3000 patio pavers, had them delivered by Home Depot, delivery driver went through my yard tore up grass made large ruts with forklift. have been in contact with Home Depot to no avail, they seemed sympathetic when this happened but can't get any response to get repairs made to my yard. this is the third major item I have purchased from Home Depot and all 3 have been a disaster. Bought gutters, took 6 months to get problems corrected, bought refrigerator when delivered, was on it's side in truck heavy damaged. Don't by anything major from Home Depot unless you pickup yourself I know I won't. read more
