Living in the near west side suburbs we have our pick of large box stores, but Home Depot is usually my go to, the prices are a bit better than the guys in blue! Buyer beware Purchased Vinyl Flooring for my entire house. Home Depot employee sent out to measure. He did not do his job correctly never checked to see if existing floors were level. All supplies delivered and installer shows up and states they cannot install due to unleveled floors that were not measured correctly. The interesting part of all of this is we were only refunded partial amount til supplies were returned which they were within 2 days of this. Have been waiting since 1/8/2025 for remainder of refund . Which is a considerable amount of money. Went up to Home Depot store and they said had a computer glitch and still working on this . I had to purchase a protection plan on a previously purchased item that was purchased at a different out of town store. I was told I could go to any store to do this. Max was working in customer service and said hello to me as I entered the store. I explained why I was there and asked how to go about purchasing the plan. He wasn't sure but made some phone calls and he and the manager were able to figure it all out. Never once did I feel like I was bothering either one of them and they were friendly, kind and accommodating. They both told me to come back in if there were any further issues when I got home and registered the plan online. I was lied to several times about my garage order. Spent almost 2400.00 there. They are rude, don't call you back, and takes forever to talk with an employee once you call. Then after waiting for weeks I said enough. I called to cancel they want 20% to cancel. I explained that was NEVER told to me prior. He said you signed. I said proof please. I did it over the phone. What a crap store. Got 2 instead of 1 Stars because the guy that originally helped me put in some effort. After that, all down hill. Said my freezer would be in the 20th, called and nope. They looked it up and said now the 27th, oh, after Christmas, Awesome! Called 27th to be sure then they said, now its 29th. After Christmas already so dont matter too much. Go in and ask why military discount wasn't applied. I never expect anything but if its an issue don't post it and publicize it for pandering. I have armed forces on my driver's license and carry DD214 in my wallet but it HAD to be a veteran ID card, which has been difficult to obtain since the "pandemic". So they basically told me to pound salt. No problem, just go to Lowes, much more customer friendly and actually honor the veteran discount they speak of. read more

This Home Depot is fine, the layout is not what I would consider intuitive and narrow aisles feel cramped. This makes it very difficult to find what I'm looking for. The employees are quite friendly which is great considering you'll likely need help finding what you are looking for. Overall, I would avoid this Home Depot unless they are the only place to carry the brand that you are looking for and like any box store their prices are high even in comparison to their own online store. read more

I had a good experience at this Home Depot! I went in looking to buy some house plants for my apartment. Although the selection isn't as big as other stores, it had everything I needed. A sales associate was very helpful in helping me choose the right plants, and pointed me in a good direction. The plants were priced well, but the pots were a bit over priced, so I'm opting to shop for those at target or TJ Maxx. They also had a beautiful selection of succulents, I wanted to buy all of them! At the check out center, there were batteries and Mr. Clean magic erase cleaners, two items I've kept forgetting to buy at the grocery store, so I was happy to grab them before checking out! read more

I shopped here all the time but I will never shop here again. My husband and I went here on Sunday September 3,2023 t buy a new Fridge. We found one in the box that met our needs and the price was $629 it was on sale but, it was a brand I never heard of so I looked for a sales rep. because there wasn't a price on the box only the sku and that's when I was told the price. The sales rep. also tried to find one out the box so we could see what it looked like as well. Since we couldn't find a demo one I looked it up on line and I also did a price comparison and found that Loews had it for $10 cheaper I sure wish I went to them and not just to save a buck. We decided to buy it and pick it up the next day (Labor Day). We paid money to help us pick it up if we had our own truck I would have returned it and not be writing this review. We got it home opened the box an the crisper was broken on both sides still in the original tape. We took it back immediately and was told we must have bought the demo.( WHAT) and there was nothing they can do. We bought an in the box brand new fridge, we paid full price, we never agreed to any demo purchase nor did we have any conversations about demo anything. We were sent home angry with broken a crisper and out of over $650. Tuesday I called corporate who reached out to the General Manager of the store name Michael and he called and asked for pictures then today he called and said we need to call the manufacture. Supporting local businesses rather than the Big Boxes. I'm all for it. A shame there aren't more local hardware stores whose owners---and their families---we can help by contributing to their personal household funds in order for them to stay in business. If one is near you, please stop there first. ~~~ What the "negatives" just don't get: Big box stores employ local HUMANS who also have families to feed---and bills to pay. When these stores begin hiring from out of the country, is the time to boycott---and justifiably bad-mouth. Until then, your "local" belief is pure nonsense. We came to this Home Depot location because when we went online, it said they had two of our desired bathroom vanity top in stock (we needed two). Surprise! When we got there, they had zero, but it took about 30 minutes to determine there were none in the store. After calling every other location in the area, we were able it find one at the Strongsville store and one at the Rocky River store. They were unable to do a store transfer and deliver both pieces to one store, even though they were the ones with the inventory that was off. So, what should have been a 30 minute trip, turned out to be a 3 hour tour of the Home Depots of the West side of Cleveland. However, I will say that although they didn't have the product that they said they did, the employee that we worked with at the North Olmsted store was just about as helpful as she could have been. However, almost all of the other employees that we ran into on our doomed tour de' Home Depot were less than helpful and seemed kind of angry to be at work. Will I be back to buy the rest of the things I need for my bathroom remodel? Probably but only because I've already priced Lowe's out and the specific things we need are cheaper at Home Depot. I had an (obviously) negative experience with purchasing a washer/dryer system from Home Depot. Firstly, I paid for installation, their tech informed me that he could not hook up the washer. The reason he could not hook it up is unclear. He wrote on the invoice that the threading was out of alignment and I'd have to get a new system. He then stated he could not hook it up because it was plastic and there would be liability issues associated with the hook up. This seemed pretty fishy, as I called management to figure out what is going on I got one of the managers of this store on the phone. He did some research and informed me that I needed to install a brass faucet system to be compliant with the washer and that 'most systems are brass now, we can't work with a plastic faucet system.' I asked if I could get the items returned he said no no the system works just fine. I felt like I'd been given the run around, possibly scammed but I had to do some further research. Low and behold, taking a look at the OTHER end of the hookups, the washer was already attached to plastic threading on the WASHER. So it made NO SENSE for the manager to tell me I need a brass system. With a little TLC, I got the hook ups installed to my faucets with no leaking. This of course was AFTER I CALLED A PLUMBER and had him come out to tell me I don't need brass hook ups. Thanks to this incompetent bunch at this location I had dirty clothes, spent more money out of pocket for a plumber, and PAID FOR INSTALLATION THAT DIDN'T GET INSTALLED. I am NOT a happy customer, what happened to competence and good customer service? Christ! Looks like I'll be taking my business to Lowe's thanks to these MORONS who clearly could care less. read more

Nightmare of one thing after another! Before you buy an appliance make sure the delivery staff will install the equipment and parts. In my case I ordered a refrigerator and upon its delivery the deliverer stated he was not going to install the ice maker, shelves and butter dish. Go figure?! I paid for installation?! Within less than 24 hours the fridge never cooled. My food now spoiling I called the next morning to report it. They offered to deliver a new one a week later. I was now without a refrigerator, food that needed to be thrown out and expected to continue to eat out. A week later, delivers again just show up - no 30 min call as stated. He too repeats, he was not installing the ice maker and side door shelves. He proceeded to say he couldn't unhook the fridge because the shutoff valve was in the basement. In addition, I was expected to uninstall the old and install the new?????! Huh???!!! Why did I pay for installation???? If I knew how to do it - I would!!! They then canceled my new fridge, pushed the broken fridge back and left. I am now dealing with the customer service who had me on the phone for over an hour only to tell me he has to pass the call to resolution department. I am at a loss???! Best home Depot store (Berea Rd Cleveland) around! I started out with the new guy that was just hired, Antonio, great employee. He couldn't answer my question so he immediately got me someone that could help me. I ended up dealing with Jim. Again another great employee! He took the time and talked to me for a while about what I was looking for and what I needed, and it was like talking to a friend. Jim helped me out getting what I needed and at the right price. Everyone in that I had contact with in that store, including my cashier Val, we're just wonderful. This is a smaller location, but the staff make up for it. I can always find someone to ask help, and I've always ended up walking out with what I needed. I actually am very impressed with the staff. I recently needed a receipt reprint of a $6 purchase from the same month. Yes... a $6 purchase. Pathetic, I know. I had bought a ridgid reciprocating saw and circular saw individually and suddenly a 5pc combo kit was the same price as I had spent on those two items. That's the same price but with a impact driver, a flashlight AND a hammer drill. I brought the items (one purchased a week ago unused and one two weeks ago very gently used) with receipts and explained my situation expecting a understanding employee to help exchange or credit items. The assistant manager, Josh made up an arbitrary return policy when he told me "I usually only give things a week". He told me there was nothing he could do in a very unconcerned tone. Just spent 10 minutes with Dave in the custom kitchen KraftMaid area inquiring about upgrades for a complete kitchen remodel I did 1 year ago. As he fumbled thru a catalogue, my confidence diminished. That along with his salty, less than customer oriented attitude, I wrapped up my drawings and am now on my way to the Avon store. Wish me luck. I had an AWESOME experience at the Avon store. Patty and Kevin were extremely helpful and WANTED to help. Patty was able to fit me in between appointments. Never going there again. Bought a washer and dryer for $1,500. The delivery company refused delivery because it was a tight fit in my laundry room. They wrote down false measurements to justify not delivering them. The same size washer and dryer are already in my laundry room. But Home Depot just blew me off and said I was wrong. I measured everything with a yard stick and tape measure. They basically called me a liar!!! I just got my money back and bought the same set from Best Buy in Avon for cheaper. This place has awful customer service. I went into the store and bought a large grill. They said they would assemble it and deliver my product and their sub-contractors would call me before they got to my home. No call ever came and the grill was delivered in a big box and put in my garage. I called and Home Depot Rocky River had to send 2 more guys out to get it off of my garage floor and back to the store. They said they could assemble it and bring it back in a week. No thanks guys! They are sending me my refund in the mail in about 2 weeks. They wouldn't even give me my money back right away! What kind of business is this anyway? What a mess! Wonder where my check will end up. Tried to start the summer off sometime back in May at the West 117th location. BIG mistake. Way too many morons(shoppers and employees) gunking up the works. I took a breath, hit the freeway and ended up at this smaller, less frenetic location. Goldmine. You get plenty of time to browse all the stuff without anyone crawling up your ass to ask if you need something. I hate when they ask me that, because they never know the answer. So why ask it?!? Just give me some space and I'll figure it out myself(Suicidal Tendencies reference). Stopped in a couple subsequent times throughout June at 6 in the am! Perfect for when I just got out of work. Got some big pavers for a patio, a patio chair, some planters, some little pine trees, bags of mulch and pebbles and now my back yard looks less ghetto. Thanks Home Depot! Horrible service!!!! I was told our appliance would be delivered on May 21, then on May 19, just two days before, they sent another email stating August 8th, would be the new date, this was because the main item was on backorder. It turns out that information was incorrect it was the secondary item that was on backorder and if I removed it the appliance could be delivered on May 28. So... I called and canceled the secondary item then they change the delivery date again and say it will not make it until June 4th... really Home Depot, REALLY!!! I make a purchase on May 7th you cannot deliver until May 21, then May 28th and now June 4th. How can I trust you? Will you change again and how long is reasonable to keep holding up my kitchen remodel for this cook top. I am beyond disappointed in your company. How UNprofessional of you!!!!! ZERO STARS!!! DO NOT BUY FLOORING HERE! They sent a couple of guys who were obviously doing meth to install the flooring and when I called about they told me it was impossible because of drug tests. One installer was later found dead, luckily not at my house. I financed the $6000 though Home Depot, and once it was paid off, they continued to take money out of my account to the tune of $1200. It took me months to get the money back. Now here I am 2 years later the floor is curling up and splitting apart. My kids have both cut their feet on it. They are offering to replace it using the same installation company. The assistant manager is unbelievably condescending and arduous. They refuse to refund my money or use a different installer. The first Saturday of every month the Home Depot invites families w young children to participate in a hands on project & then the kids get to take it home. I missed it this month (February )& was determined not to miss it next month. I called the Rocky River Home Depot & the woman who answered the phone was so rude. I explained to her what I was calling about and she did not even let me finish before rudely saying "Ah , that was today".
