What can I say, I went for the mulch sale. I try to shop local for plants but when mulch is $2 a bag I cannot pass it up. This was an awful experience and I will not come back to Lowe's. I ordered 2 products on Lowe's website and paid $80 for delivery. Only one of the products was delivered and I was informed that when I placed the order I was supposed to edit the order to indicate additional delivery for both products, but apparently I did not. It was all in one order so when checkout came, I guess I assumed choosing "delivery" would apply to the whole order. I had to pay another $80 and get a second delivery a week later even further pushing the project back. Lowe's also had an elderly woman deliver the bricks which was despicable to see on my ring cam. Hundreds of pounds of bricks being unloaded by an old woman. Yall should be ashamed. read more

I bought a door hinge for my fence, & because of weather I just got time to install it and it broke immediately. Because it was outside of the 90 day return policy they offered zero solutions and just repeated the same script over and over. The item still exists on their shelves and they refused to exchange it. It's Lowe's, so a pretty standard experience. The staff were friendly and helped me find a couple of options for my project, and I spent way too much in the plant section. My dog was tired out from her trip to the river prior, so other than a few obnoxious demands for attention, was a good enough girl to warrant a bully stick from the pet section, conveniently located near the registers. Only the self checkouts were open when we were in, but a nice staff member checked my items out while I negotiated bully stick ownership with the dog. Plenty of parking out front in the lot, and adjacent to other places for shopping and snacking. read more

I just bought 8 - 2 cubic foot bags of mulch. Had a hard time pulling the flatbed to my vehicle. Had a harder time loading it since they were heavy. I had to keeps stopping for a breather. 85 degrees. The upsetting part was finding out from people after I got home that they would have loaded the vehicle for me. I have been a longtime Lowe's customer. After visiting the store in Rocky River there is not enough caring staff to assist. The selection of the products I was looking for was very slim. Then after spending more than an hour shopping, I found out there are no service check out stations in the store. You have to outdoors to the landscaping department. OVERALL (details below) I can't even review the refrigerator itself because it's been sitting in my garage for three days. It was delivered, but due to an existing copper line, they refused to install it. They did not remove the old fridge, or offer any advice. Lowe's scheduling system is also a complete disaster. From what I can gather, there are three different parties at play; the Lowe's retail location, the distribution center, and the third party contractors. I have talked to all three, and each party is blaming the other party for this issue. DETAILS I recently purchased a refrigerator from Lowe's in Rocky River. I used the website to make the selection because I have no faith in any of the employees. I have been to this Lowe's several times for various needs, and each time the employees could not provide any technical insight or assistance. The last time I was there I asked one of the employees a question about a product. He literally stood there and Googled the question... Anyways, the price was slightly lower for this fridge at Lowe's than at Home Depot. When I went to Lowe's, I pointed out the fridge I wanted. The employee did not provide any input on the specific make or model of the fridge. He did however spend several minutes trying to persuade me to apply for a Lowe's credit card. I asked that the installation take place as soon as possible, since my current refrigerator stopped working. The earliest was two days later, even though the website said next day delivery was available. I also purchased a stainless steel water line for the fridge. The time frame provided was 12-4. The delivery arrived at 12. I was not home, but my wife was home with the baby. The delivery man said they could not complete the delivery because of the existing copper water line. It was never made clear that this would be an issue. The employee at Lowe's did not mention this. However, there was a highlighted section of the paperwork stating they would not connect to copper water lines. I took this to mean they would install a new line. Either way, they refused to touch the current fridge, and left the new fridge in my garage. I rescheduled the installation, and was given the same time frame of 12-4. The earliest they could come out was another 2 days. I specifically asked what needed to be done with the existing copper line. I was told I had to purchase a stainless steel line. I mentioned that I had already purchased it with the fridge. I was then told I didn't need to purchase anything. In the meantime, I scheduled a plumber to replace a valve and the copper line. The plumber was scheduled 8-12 so that it could be replaced before the fridge install. When I got home I saw that the fridge was in the garage along with a 5 foot stainless steel line. There is no way that line could possibly reach the water supply from the fridge. So now the plumber had to install that as well. The day before delivery I received a text saying the installation time frame was now 8:30-12:30; a completely different time frame than I was told. That morning I received a call from plumber saying he was on his way. I then received a call from Lowe's at 9, saying they were on the way. I explained the situation, and was told they would no longer come out. I asked if they could at least take the old fridge and put the new one in place, while the plumber replaced the valve. They still refused to come out, and said I had to reschedule. I explained that the original time frame was 12-4, yet they were coming out at 9 in the morning. I was told this happens all the time with Lowe's. The Lowe's employees give the customer a time frame, and they request that time frame with the distribution center. Then the actual time is determined between the distribution center and the contracted delivery person. The only person who suffers in this case is the customer. I then called the distribution center to reschedule AGAIN. I selected option 1 for deliveries, and told them I was given a different time frame. The distribution center said the scheduling would have to be with Lowe's. I finally got ahold of someone to reschedule. She then forwarded my "scheduling request" to someone and said I would receive a call back within 24 HOURS. I received a call back from another nameless person with a nameless organization. The installation was rescheduled for the next day. I STILL don't have the fridge installed, and it's just taking up space in my garage. Meanwhile, I have no working fridge. This has been especially troublesome because my wife is breastfeeding, and we need to keep any excess milk in cold storage. If it were possible to give zero stars I would. read more

This has to be the worst run Lowe's on Planet Earth. I purchased nearly $2,000 worth of tile only to find out the store...doesn't have the tile. I have been waiting for weeks to get it and...still have no answer. When you call, the front desk transfers you to flooring who transfers you to the front desk who transfers you to flooring. Today, I had the Assistant Manager Liz and SIX associates at the front desk attempt to help. Their solution - go to the Avon Lowe's who informed me that Liz was wrong and that they couldn't help me. No and no, I'd not recommend Lowe's to anyone. I try to take things with a grain of salt, but they truly ruined it for me. I went through many hoops just to have our washer and dryer delivered. Then our dishwasher leaked and caused water damage to our kitchen floor only 6 months in! We called Lowe's and was told to call their warranty vendor. I called their warranty vendor and was told to contact the manufacturer as it's under 1y and still under manufacturer's warranty. I hated the fact that their staff don't know what they're doing and giving me the run around. I wasted 1/2 day just to file a claim for the dishwasher. Now I'm stuck with a damaged floor, but they won't reimburse. I'd have to file it with my homeowner's insurance, which sucks big time. Disappointment is an understatement! read more

Ordered a new front door and had great service from the young lady that helped us with our order. When the door was delivered the delivery service refused to open the box so I could inspect the door. When the installer opened the box weeks later the door had damage and could not be installed. I have been on hold with Lowe's in Rocky River for the last 30 minutes. I was at the store an hour ago and received fabulous service from Patrick Wilkinson. A light fixture purchased two years ago malfunctioned and I was looking for a way to get replacement parts. Mr. Wilkinson contacted the distributor of the fixture who decided to ship me an entirely new fixture. Mr. Wilkinson was competent and professional. I hope Lowes does its utmost to retain such a valuable employee. read more

Fantastic customer service from the moment I walked in. I must have looked like a deer in headlights, because a women walked up to me and smiled and asked what I was looking for. She made it very easy to ask all my directions to multiple departments. I also needed paint ideas and luckily she was from that department! Her and another gentleman assisted me with my random questions. I don't remember their names, but he was tall and had darker hair, and she had short hair and tattoos. Oh! And I loved all the dog pictures around their desk area! I got to meet a big dog while I was there, and it kinda made my day since it was Father's Day and I was depressed. I'll definitely be back! I don't know who's bright idea it was to put pallets of gatorade in front of their pro entrance but that is about the dumbest thing ever. I couldn't bring a 30x60 shower wall back into the store because they decided to shrink the door size with product. Not only that but they shove product everywhere in the store and navigating is absolutely abysmal if you have something large. Carts of product are just left in the middle of walkways and the employees with just stare at you while you move THEIR INVENTORY to get around. Carts are a near blessing to find too because, you guessed it, they're all being used to just put inventory on. read more

We came here looking for a few things including an extension cord. As soon as we came in there was someone there to ask what we were looking for and directed us to were we needed to find it. This location is very clean and organized and loved how well stocked the front area was with christmas decorations. We got a few xmas lights at a great price during their black friday weekend sale. We also got our xmas tree here and I was surprised at how well stocked the selection of xmas trees were. They gave us some twine to tie our tree down to the car and were very friendly and helpful. read more

At 9:00 AM on Saturdays, this Lowe's is very quiet. I like it though and that's why I come here. I can walk through the store like I do the grocery store and rely on the items to trigger ideas on things I can do around the house. On this trip, I was looking for light bulbs. Light bulbs have changed a lot in since I was a kid. We've moved from incandescent bulbs, to compact fluorescent lamps, to light emitting diodes. I am in the process of converting from CFL's to LED's. But I am not going to change my bulbs all at once. I am slowly replacing the CFL's as they stop working. Most of the bulbs I have are not dimmable and so I don't need to buy dimmable bulbs. The lights in my dining room are dimmable, however, and I will replace them with dimmable LED's soon. Now that I can get six non-dimmable LED's for under $10, I will begin buying soft white LED's. Dimmable bulbs cost more. It's nice to have a selection of colors because my wife doesn't like pure white LED light. So to get the "yellow" light that incandescent bulbs emit, I'll be sure to get the soft white LED's. I will be checking my electric bill to see if there is a gradual savings. I also bought a 3/4" braided hose to serve as an upgraded inlet hose for my hot water tank. I replaced the tank recently, but I didn't replace the feed hose. It was time to do that. I have some projects lined up for 2017, including electrical work, porch work, garage work, and some painting, so I'll be back. I like this store and I like having it all to myself. Great Store ~ Great Staff ~ Great Buys ~ Great Birds ??? Have purchased a number of items here and have always been satisfied. From lawn mower to snow blower (at a huge discount), and ladder to toilet---everything performs beautifully. They also have a general 90 day return policy which I took advantage of because of faulty solar lights that stopped working after just 2 months. Never had to return anything else because they all work---whether blowing, mowing, growing, brushing, or flushing. Especially satisfied with their outdoor plants. Always healthy when purchased and continue to flourish---annuals, perennials, and herbs. House plants, too. And if you're looking for any larger decorative garden pieces, such as metal trellises, gates, panels, and shepherd hooks, they have quite a nice selection. Because a vast section of their outdoor garden center is open at the top---like an enormous cage in a zoo, but without roofing on one side---don't be surprised to be looking at something and all of sudden birds fly past---right in front of you---just two feet away---at eye level. And there's constant chirping and tweeting. Pretty cool. Actually, it's like an aviary. They even build nests in the rafters. I've never had it happen, but you might want to wear a hat. I went to Dunn Hardware off E. 185 to get what I need and went to Lowe's at W 210 to get the last of my needs. Order canceled - supposedly the "sent me an e-mail cancelling my order.". Never received said. Ended up driving to Lowe's in Avon to get this job done. I was telling a carpenter friend of mine and he stated Lowe's is.... I'm sticking with the orange box. It was my first time in the actual building, any other Lowes experience was in the garden area. What did I take from my experience? Employees who did not seem to want to help customers, in fact one that was filling out our paperwork to buy a dishwasher apologized for being stopped by another customer and made the comment "sorry, you put this red vest on and everyone asks you questions". Um yeah, I hate to break it to you but you are in customer service. Due to my lack of patience and thinking the better deals were at Lowes I opened a credit card last night anticipating buying the appliance. If I had not done that we would have left and gone to Home Depot, which is where we should have gone in the first place. I went in for sure basic blinds. The associate in the blind department was working on a custom order and was having issues. I went and came back 3 different times after browsing for other things. The final time I stood patiently and waited for over 15 minutes while she saw me and another associate who came to help saw me. After about 20 minutes she finally turns to me and says I am not going to be able to help you you will need to find someone else. This is unacceptable it's not my job to find someone to help me. We purchased a grill at Lowe's and was told they their staff would assemble and should take a few days. We were given a date and time when the unit would be available. However, upon arrival - the Customer Service staff were clearly overwhelmed with requests and concerns. My grill was not ready - they indicated it would be at least another week for pickup. Purchased a washer dryer set paid for delivery and set up, they hired a 3rd party to handle the install and delivery. They left an exposed gas line with no cap and did a horrible job with the dryer vent. I called the store and they pushed it on the 3rd party who made an appointment. Left me waiting all day then called the next day to say maybe Sunday. I will NEVER use LOWES for anything again. They sold the product and service, now I have to fight to get this done proper. My Grandson and I went to Lowe's Rocky River Ohio ordered a Ariens snowblower on Jan 14, 2022 Lowes had a large stock We put it on Lowe's credit card to secure it as our driveway is huge and snow is bad here and our hot water tank is broke also so we ordered a 700.00 tank also at the same time. Set the delivery for January 22, 2020 for both items. We came in the store a couple days later with cash and paid for both items to pay off the charge for these items. The day before delivery Lowe's called us to tell us they sold our Snow blower and are now not getting anymore of that model in for the rest the season. We were so upset I asked for the district managers number and Dan the manager told me no I can't have it. Futher more since we paid the charge off in cash a couple days later we were now told by the second manager that we would have to call credit center to get our money back since he canceled the charged transaction and it was credited to the Lowe's charge. The next day I went to the new empty house to wait for the tank that we desperately needed and called around on my cell phone to find someone who could sell me an Airens snow blower. After waiting hours in the empty house called Lowe's to find out where the tank we were waiting for was ??? This manager tells me when they canceled the transaction for the snow blower they accidentally cancelled the tank too. So I waiting in the empty house all day for nothing and still have no water and no tank No snowblower No money. Don't shop Lowe's! read more

Went OK, installer could have cleaned up a little better but the real issue was revealed a few weeks later when a city inspector discovered the drain for the new sink was not installed proper or to code as part of the drain required UPWARD flow in order to work. I spoke with Chuck, the cabinet specialist at this Lowe's. He was by far the most rude person I have encountered in specialty sales. I brought blue prints of the kitchen layout and wanted to take a couple minutes of time to show him what I had drawn up and what I would like to change. He abruptly cut me off and said this would take at least 2 hours. I asked him for a little time to show him what I wanted, no dice. Would not give me the time of day to explain that I wanted shaker or hampton style cabinets with out soft close drawers. Just basic stuff here that would have taken 20 minutes to go over. The appliance delivery process was a disaster. Ordered a washer, set up a time for delivery + installation + haul away and paid without incident. When delivery happens the guys say they can't hook it up. They refuse to wait while we call to sort it out and we have to run out into the snowy street in our bare feet to stop them. They begrudgingly bring the new washer in (but don't hook it up) then say the haul-away (which is $30 extra) isn't on the bill. We pull up a bill and show them, they walk over to the old washer poke at it and say its too heavy and full of water. We open it and show them there is no water that is just what the washer weighs, they shift it around a little and say too bad its too heavy they will call Lowes and sort it out. They proceed to pack up and leave without any updates or anything. It is hard to believe how horrible the service was considering what we paid. We are talking with some manager now but the whole experience has been a complete mess and unnecessarily terrible. read more

I vowed to never do business with them again, but I decided to give them another chance. The beginning of January I purchased a new stove. I had a very long discussion with the sales person regarding my previous experience. He assured me it would be 2 weeks. Well here we are February 4 and NO STOVE. Last week I called the store and spoke with the mgr. he told me tje stove was in the store and he would call the installer immediately and get back with me..STILL NOTHING. Finally in desperation I asked to talk to the Manager. After waiting for the Manager I told him of my experience! I told him I wanted just a plastic putty knife. Lowe's has replaced Home Depot for me. I love that Lowe's is bright, airy, wide open, not cluttered, and has a super helpful staff. I recently bought a new home and found the best lighting options here, for my kitchen. I don't know about the tools, and pieces parts that guys look for, but they seem to have everything that Home Depot does. I'm much more comfortable being a woman, at Lowe's. There's something intimidating at Home Depot, and I can never find what I'm looking for. Prices are very reasonable of not only pennies more than Home Depot. I'm looking forward to spring time for a few home projects, and Lowe's will be my go to place! read more

Id give the store a 5 star review but the paint 0 stars. Lowes paint is the worst i have ever used. One tiny half bath took me two gallons! Home depots paint i used one gallon for my whole family room and still have some left over. Terrible product. I expect more from the Lowes reputation ! read more
