I went in to inquire about having a glass window fixed. Dave went above and beyond to help me. Never did I expect to have my broken window fixed while waiting! He mentioned the new "window guy" hasn't started yet, but then proceeded to investigate how HE may be able to assist. He even walked out to my car to look at what I had brought in. Specifically I brought my Briggs and Stratton snowthrower in to be looked at a couple weeks ago. It would not start. I dropped it off with Gordy who was helpful getting the unit out of my car and into the store to write up the order. Then Ashley looked at it the next day she was in the store and called me to explain her recommendations. Then a couple hours later she calls to tell me it is fixed, ready to go and didn't cost me a fortune to fix. Now I love the snowthrower again and was able to use it during last weeks snow storm. I tried to get a Benjamin Moore paint I had used a few years ago. I actually had the "recipe". The women working there tried to help, and after 20 minutes got snippy with me and told me they could not help. Why didn't they say this right from the start. This store is a poor replacement for Ingersoll's. The employees need to be more knowledgeable. read more

I needed a drop spreader on the Ninth so I checked inventory and they had three in stock. They don't open until 8:00 but the orange box was open at 6:00 and also had them in stock. On my way to work I picked up what I needed and called at9:00 to cancel my pick up. Ace was quick to take my money si I called coorate. Twice. E-mailed three times and again called the store. My bank informs me that they have 15 days to issue me my money. Today Ace sent me an e-mail stating that THEY had cancelled my order because I haven't picked it up. Way to go Ace. Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to change. It's not. i just stopped bye to see the store and experience fast friendly service as the previous review had stated. Unfortunately, I found that 4 items I was shopping for were not priced. Thus making my experience SLOW, and after the prices were provided, I realized that they were all OVER PRICED as I compared to other local stores. For example, Westinghouse 2 Pack G4 Base Bulbs, Priced at $8.99 for a two pack; Other local stores are $4 for the same item; Online its $2.43 but I would have to wait. Another item I was shopping for was Scotts Fall Fertilizer in the 5,000 sq ft bag. The item was not priced, so I asked and found out that this item as well was Nearly DOUBLE in price at $29.99 vs another local retailer at $18.99. With prices that high and items not clearly marked. With prices nearly double, I wouldn't mark them either. Buyer Beware. read more

I needed to have a piece of plexiglass cut to size and I called Home Depot in North Olmsted before going to the store. The person in customer service said they do cut plexiglass; but when I got there, I was told by the man they no longer do that - a wasted trip. Then I called Lowes in Westlake. I was told that they do cut plexiglass to size; but when I got there they couldn't cut the size I needed because the sheet wouldn't fit in the saw. The nice man who tried to help me suggested I go to Ace Hardware and he even called them to make sure they could do the job. He then gave me directions to the store. Not only was Ace able to do the job; but both Lisa and Debbie were very helpful, and considerate. I was even able to find other materials needed for my work. I bought a chainsaw there recently. The salesman, Eric, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He let me try the saw and gave me a lot of helpful advice before buying it. After taking the saw home and using it for approx 1 hour, the saw locked up on me. Because the usual suspect in a situation like this is a stupid operator who ran straight gas in the saw( I swear to God, I ran the correct mix), I was prepared for a big battle to get this covered under the warranty. After contacting the salesman, I brought the saw back and was given a new one without any trouble. Eric is the man and deserves a raise given how much money I now plan on spending on Ace! read more
