I placed an online order for two items including a ladder. Strike one: The carrier (UPS) pushed the delivery date back which messed-up my project timeline - leaving me feeling misled. Strike two: The ladder was simply plastic bagged with no padding, no box. It was shoddy packing and when the UPS driver dropped it off, a leg was hanging out clearly damaged from being thrown around or dragged. The driver even mentioned how poorly is was packed. The bag was torn in a number of areas. This was a really poor customer experience. I have many pictures for proof. Bummed! read more

only 1 register and self checkout open. short of employees in departments. long lines sat 4/15 2023. five people had their dogs shopping inside. this is a business! not dog show. had to negotiate around leashes. 2 dogs got into brawl. clearing aisle of customers. are people that insecure and have to bring dogs here?. i'll shop more at lavalleys i don't have to shop around insecure people assuring you my dog is" OK". months ago i saw a little boy get knocked down by a "leashed" he's OK, dog going after another dog at rutland home depot. read more

I have shopped the Home Depot for years, but probably will not in the future. I ordered a light trailer from them in early April, that was supposed to be delivered by April 29. When it did not arrive, I checked the website and found my delivery date had been pushed back to May 6. No email, no notification at all except what I had to go look for. May 6 came and went, no trailer. The website advised me to contact the shipper, but the shipper cannot be contacted! Today I spent over an hour on the phone with "customer service", and she could not contact the shipper either. She said it appeared my order had been lost somewhere. So I cancelled the order and took my refund. It seems like HD wants to sell big ticket items, but once sold, screw the customer. Had I bought a trailer from a smaller dealer, I would have paid a bit more, but I would have a freaking trailer. Personally, I would not give them a whole star, but such is life and it's options. read more

Before you go and spend thousands of dollars on appliances at this store you should check the fine print. Their website says that if you buy a refrigerator from them they will take away the old one which if it were true would be terrific. However they lied, and mislead with their advertisement. Before I committed to an $8000.00 purchase, I checked with the manager who confirmed that they would take away to old refrigerator only to later call back to say they wouldn't because the old one was too heavy. My son went to Home Depot in Rutland today to purchase insulation for our garage. I believe he got 14 rolls. The signs in the department said the bulk price was almost $5 cheaper than the regular price...so about $14.99 instead of $19.99. The guy who my son asked for help...I believe his name was Nick...agreed that was the cost and wrote the sale price on the shrinkwrap of the insulation. However, when my son went to check out the cashier said it wasn't ringing up the sale bulk price so he called for a price check Apparently Nick had gone on break and someone else answered and said the signs were wrong! False advertising Home Depot?????? Having worked in retail myself for almost 25 years I would have stood my ground but there was a long line and when the cashier asked my son if he wanted to talk to a manger he said no he didn't want to hold up the line. I would have said "Hell yeah...call the manager"! You cannot advertise something and then not sell it for that advertised amount. So my son paid more than $70 with tax more than he was supposed to! Absolutely DONE with these people! Incompetent and can't get anything straight! Ordered 2 appliances. Specifically told them I needed to have a date certain to be home. Drove 5 hours to be home when they scheduled delivery. Had 2 contractors (being paid time 1/2 on a Saturday) to be there to pull this kitchen together before airbnb guests arrive for a week. NO CALL, NO EMAIL AND NO DELIVERY! Put on hold 3 times, each time waited over 18 minutes and once disconnected. Blamed the delivery service. Delivery service blamed the store! DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE!!! Buy local at a smaller store and you'll be REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE!! IF I could get these appliances today I'd cancel the damn order! read more

I purchased an "extended warrantee" on my refrigerator for 150.00. The maytag refrigerator broke after a year and a half. BEWARE it is not a warantee it is a service contract. It is not sold that way in the store. It was a bait and switch. I have had to take 3 days off of work for each episode of refrigerator failure (1 day for them to assess the issue, 1 day to istall parts, and 1 day for a loaner frig). They will not replace the refrigerator until their repair people have come 3 times. I have to use my 2 weeks of vacation to meet Home Depot. I am currently building a large addition and replacing all appliances. I will never buy from them again! They don't stand behind their sales pitch. read more
