North Port, FL Home Depot is the most DESPICABLE AND DISGUSTING LOCATION I have ever been to- the management REFUSES TO PLACE MATS DOWN BY THE ENTRANCE / EXIT FOR SAFETY- CAUSING PEOPLE TO SLIP FALL. I WAS A VICTIM SEVEN MONTHS AGO AND MY SLIP CAUSED SEVERE BODY AND BRAIN INJURIES. Over 100k in medical bills and SEVERE TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY, HOWEVER THE HOME DEPOT REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE NEGLIGENCE. I lost ability to see properly and my cognitive state was in horrible decline and still is seven months after the fall, yet he wanted to take advantage of a person who just dived their head first into concrete and was trying to force me to sign his docs. I'm sure some sort of a release of Home Depot being negligent. Please let's stand up to this giant bully!!!! Any information on how you slipped or how that area is slippery would be very important to keep anyone in the future from severe injuries. Let my horrible seven month ordeal be a great warning for everyone. Let's make a change together and force Home Depot corporate to act appropriately and pay out for the medical in cases like mine. We have gone to this Home Depot a number of times so it was time to write a review. The store seems clean and organized but lacking in inventory. Is it the pandemic or are they keeping low stock? We've been there numerous times to not find what we needed-recently, irrigation supplies to water plants in the yard. Other times, common hardware that they didn't have in stock. The one bright spot for me is the Garden Center. They have a great assortment of plants and related supplies. Especially, one man who is very knowledgeable and helpful-I wish I could recall his name but I will correct this when I go back! The main store is 3/5 stars but garden center is 4/5 bringing overall to 3.5 but I rounded up since I do not know the reason for shortage of supplies. Do Not Buy Appliances here! RUN!!! I ordered a stove, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. The man who sold it was sexist and rude to my mother. He stuck a piece of paper inches from her face and said "see! See!" We put in a complaint against him and Home Depot gave us a $50 gift card We should have cancelled the order because it's all been downhill from there. But I have been buying from Home Depot for years and never had this kind of problem. First delivery attempt: they couldn't install because of valves. They sent a Home Depot plumber to install the valves but he didn't reconnect it properly so my current dishwasher has been broken since then. Second delivery attempt: They came outside of their promised time and I was on my way to an appointment. Third delivery attempt: All of the appliances are damaged! Beyond damaged. The delivery guy spotted it and said he could not install that is how bad it was. Fourth delivery attempt: never showed. Called them and woops no one called you? Your items are now on back order we will try for January 10th but cannot guarantee it. So I have cancelled it now. I told them about my dishwasher which they broke when installing the valve and they said I could file a claim. I will never shop at any Home Depot ever again and buy all my appliances from smaller local stores where people actually care. TERRIBLE SERVICE; Picked a frig.. Told Bob that our home didn't have a valve for the water. He said NP, and ordered a water line NOT a valve AND didn't order the plumber. Eventhough I told him our frig DIED and we don't drive and need a frig ASAP because we are disabled........ FRIG comes but they don't want to leave it. They would miss out on the $30 haul away fee. I have shopped this location on Cattlemen Drive approximately 60-90 times in the last 2 years as I am completely upgrading my retirement home and I have never walked into this Home Depot with out having a great experience! This particular site seems to cater more to contractors then to regular do-it-yourself folks. I can never find all the pieces I need for a project here for they are often out of stock and recommend I travel to one of their other locations. So I end up going to their competitor who usually has what I am looking for. The store is poorly staffed with folks who have no idea what you are talking about. Best time to get help, is during the week in the day hours. Seems to have their regular staff and can usually find someone knowledgeable. So if you buy anything on a credit card.. like I had some work done for me, I paid the person to do it..they bought the supplies & I paid him for everything at the end. Turns out one of them was the wrong thing and so I wanted to exchange it. For same exact price item.. same thing just different model...But because I showed the receipt they told me they needed to put the money back on the card that it was bought on & I could not get a store credit or exchange it. Says it was their policy even though I've already paid this person so I certainly didn't want to do that but had no choice so they got even more money & I had to buy another one. Anyway.. I always save receipts for stores but ridiculously if you want to exchange some thing at Home Depot and you're in this type of situation..do not bring your receipt!! Most stores I would say do because they let you exchange but not this store so leave your receipt at home and tell them you don't have it to get a store credit so then you can get what you need and not be out money. Very stupid policy once something has been paid for a month ago to not allow a store credit or even exchange with a receipt! I learned "losing" the receipt to simply exchange is Tyrone easiest way. If it was more money I would have taken it to another store & "lost" the receipt. Mental note for next time I hire someone & didn't use my own card! OMG! What a group of village idiots at this Home Depot! It's no wonder the franchise is on the decline! We went there to purchase garage cabinets for storage. All of the associates were so engaged in having personal conversations with eachother. I felt like an interloper interrupting to ask where their display was. After power walking almost the entire perimeter of the store following one bad direction after another, we ended up in the spot where we started in front of two of the cheapest cabinets that I wouldn't store my trash containers in. I tried to call the store manager to find out if better quality cabinets could be ordered and got the phone run around. Going to Lowes. Time for HD to be bought and restructured. Too many Indian chiefs and not enough warriors in the field. Yikes!! We just experienced the worst customer service we have ever received any place! We ordered a stove, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher from Home Depot, paid for installation for all and removal of the old appliances. When the delivery came, the driver barely spoke English, said he couldn't hook up the refrigerator because he wasn't allowed to touch water. Wouldn't put the microwave up because there was a cord close to it which could easily have been moved. The stove was showing an error message that he insisted would go away but it still hasn't. He ended up agreeing to plug the refrigerator in in the dining room, but refused to take the old one. He said a plumber would call within 24 - 48 hours to arrange install and he would remove the old refrigerator. Said we would have to hire a handy man to hang the microwave. It has now been a week, multiple calls to Home Depot and still no word from their plumber. My poor husband was on eternal hold with them 3 times and each time they said he would need to talk with a manager. They would put him back on hold and then hang up. This literally happened 3 times and no one returned the call. Buyer Beware is all I can say about this incredibly disappointing and unsatisfactory experience with Home Depot! read more

I live about 1 hour from this Home Depot I called the Tool rental department at 8:30 AM and asked if they had a skid steer and truck available for rent. They told me yes both were available. I told them I lived 1 hour away and would they please hold it for me. They agreed. When I arrived at 9:20 AM they told me the one that they were holding had just been rented but they had another smaller one so I said I would take it. I gave them all my information and paid. Two years ago I spent a lot of money for an LG refrigerator. It suddenly stopped working. I did what I was supposed to do with my extended warranty, but it has now been over 4 weeks and my fridge still doesn't work and no one will help me. They say that it has to be fixed and then break 2 more times before they will replace it. It can't be fixed and their repair people won't answer the phone. Today they said they are given me a 4.3 cu ft mini-ridge to replace my 27 cu ft fridge until it can be fixed. It will hold some cans of soda, but not much else. So essentially, I am stuck - it can't be fixed so it can't break 2 more times for them to replace it, and they know there is nothing I can do. So of course I will have to buy another one, but I won't buy it from them. I can't recommend buying from them because they are perfectly okay for a family 4 to have no fridge, and I am now terrified about all the other appliances I bought for my kitchen. I don't know how this store got even two stars. We ordered kitchen countertops from Home Depot in early November. We were assured that the countertops would arrive and be installed within two weeks. It has been two months and all we get is the run around. Went into Hone Depot today to look for a garbage can and some garage organizers. I've never really been a fan of The Home Depot chain but I'm also not in love with Lowes either. We walked around the Sarasota Home Depot for a half an hour. There no great logic to the layout and there are only some vague signs referencing department, the sky high orange shelves make the place look a little depressing. I know it's part of the franchises brand but this Home Depot looked like a 20 or thirty year old discount hardware superstore in the Bronx. In the half an hour we were in there we saw a lot of bored workers on sitting down, leaning on things, using their phones, chatting amongst themselves. No one asked us if we needed help and no one offered directions even though we were clearly lost. We left with nothing. As I stated previously I don't love Lowes either but at least the place is clean and well organized. The layout of the store is easy to follow and understand. The blue and silver shelves from Lowes are certainly more inviting and look less dated. If you are wondering why this review is three stars... Well it's still a big store with a lot of items and competitive pricing. read more

I ordered a mirror online - I asked when I picked it up if everything was complete to hang and the answer was ..yes. I got home and noticed that the box had already been opened and taped back together. When I opened it, the directions were torn and there were no hangers for the mirror. When I called to report what had happened, there was dead silence as to my problem and then I was told, just go get another one on the shelf. Christmas time last year the associate yelled at me because we were waiting for 10 minutes outside for an associate to help us with the tree we selected, so I politely called the store and asked if someone can come give us the ticket for the tree.
