I went to the store and got an associate's attention (I wasn't greeted). I explained the problem I was attempting to tackle. The associate tried to upsell me with $600 worth of separate tool components. I asked several times if the options he was suggesting were the cheapest alternatives. He said yes. It didn't seem right. After spending quite a long time with him, I decided against buying anything. Before leaving I asked another associate who showed me how to get what I needed to complete my task for less than $100. Was the first guy taking advantage because I look young? Because I'm a woman? Because I wasn't knowledgeable? Or was he simply ignorant? I don't know. Please read before buying LG! We bought an LG washing machine, replacing our old LG (10 year warranty). After a short few months it started to destroy our clothes. It first accord after washing our sheets. They looks like some sharp object would be in the drum and pull strands out of the fabric. We checked the drum, stroked over every inch with our hands, used cotton balls to see if anything stuck - nothing! I called customer service (we ordered our washer directly from LG). They told us to run the drum clean cycle 5 times in a row (that's 7.5 hours!) that should solve the problem. We did and the next load of laundry had the same problem. We called LG again, send them pictures as requested, were told they investigate and call back. They never did. Today was the 6th time I called and also send an email to the president. After telling them that I will write this review and post it everywhere I was asked by the supervisor if I use the right cycle to wash my laundry. I am 69 years old and know how to do laundry. Finally I was told he would pass it on to their service center which will contact me to find out if it is a manufactory defect. This goes on now for over 6 weeks. The service center contacted us via text and asked what are the defective parts - how am I supposed to know? The next message was they reach out if they have someone available. I would stay away from LG which is hard to say because we have LG everywhere from fridge to TVs but if something is wrong it is the worse customer service you ever experience. read more

Home Depot located in Secaucus, provided a great experience, thanks to an incredibly helpful associate in the paint department Alan. Needed to find a glue that could multi task with a wall paper project, and stick an item to metal. Alan was knowledgeable and explained the pros and cons of each product. This kind of service makes a trip to Home Depot worthwhile. The checkout process was quick and easy. Very friendly cashier, entire store was all smiles, and super friendly. The one-on-one help was the real difference-maker. Been a long time customer to this store and am always pleased with the experience. After checking out, saw these cool charcoal , plus smoker grill. Not a fan of gas grills, but love charcoal grills. Home Depot also had great sales on grills for the Labor Day holiday. read more

Rentals that don't work. I rented a 18G humidifier for a week. Seems simple to use. Place the drain hose in the drain and turn it on. After a few days, I was skeptical as to whether it was working or not since my humidity sensors were still showing 50% humidity. To find out, I put the drain hose in a bucket. After about 2 days, it removed about a quart of water from the air. Nowhere close to the 18G rating. Humidity was still reading around 50% Meanwhile, my little consumer unit removed at least a gallon of water a day. Sure, maybe the consumer model was stealing all the moisture, but there was still plenty to grab and why would I ever pay for a commercial unit if the consumer one worked better? The associate told me I should've said something after a day or so...when I wasn't monitoring it. Also told me I was only being charged for 5 days and not 7. I asked...How much was 5 days? $280. This home Depot took a while to deliver my order. Then when they finally delivered it I had a whole bunch of 2x8s by 16 and in the middle of the bundle one bundle with 2x6s by 16. To try to get an answer on what's going on because I need my material they do not reach out to me I've been a loyal customer to home Depot for years I never seen such incompetence for the managers they trying to pass the buck to where I made the original order but meantime they're the ones that are causing the problem now I need my material and they don't call me back it is sad how they treat their customers especially when they purchase a lot of material from this company! This location is getting one star because, unfortunately, I can't give them zero. I can't fathom how they manage to mess up the most basic of tasks. Even more frustrating is their lack of courtesy and ownership in the face of these mistakes. I am re-doing my house and went here and ordered 4 doors. Every door was IN STOCK. This is how I picked them. Staff was courteous and helpful and gave me a delivery date with a 14 hour delivery window (6am-8pm). The day came and I waited. Nobody showed up. I called customer service and they told me the delivery date was moved to three days later. No one had the courtesy to tell me. I took a day off work for this. They also told me the Secaucus store didn't have the doors I purchased in stock (again, I picked them there, they were in stock, and the department was tagging them as I left). They are now coming from Jersey City and North Bergen stores. That said, now my work on my home is delayed. I have to take another day off work, which is another problem. When I called for help, I was basically told "We don't know what to tell you. They're coming Friday." No professionalism, no pride, no courtesy. These folks can't even take something that is in stock and get it onto a truck without messing it up. Lowe's in East Rutherford has delivered to me several times without a single issue. It's a joke. Now I'm out two days of work and the work on my home is held up because the job relies on having the doors. Update: only one door arrived on delivery day. Home Depot alleged to have sold the rest by mistake. Now the delivery was pushed back another 5 days. They also alleged that they could not get the one door and it is out of stock everywhere. Unacceptable. Went to the store personally and found that they had ALL of my doors on the shelf. Absolutely ridiculous. I'm embarrassed for them. They are incompetent here. That said, my contractor is now picking up the doors because I don't want to try on the store. Nothing but wasted time and lost money for over a week. read more

I've just picked things up here and I can usually at least find someone to ask. I asked an associate where something was and he pulled out a phone, which I thought was to look it up but then suspected he was just texting, but he pointed me to the exact item instead of just say "Aisle 2" or something. The parking lot is a garage, which is a bit weird since I've never seen the first level more than about half full. It's just annoying that at the stop light you can only make a right. You have the advantage of a light but then blow it by only turning right. And if there is any traffic or construction, it is very hard to get out because you can only turn right on green. It would probably be easier if there was no light at all and we could turn right whenever it was clear. There is also no regular checkouts. It's all self check outs and then it's happened enough times where a lane will be broken or one won't take cash or give cash back or something. There's essentially only 4 lines and you'd be lucky if they all worked at once. It also seems really cheap to have no regular cashiers as an option. I'd probably give it 2.5 stars. I personally hadn't needed too much help but I can definitely believe if you need help, you will have a hard time finding it. read more

This home depot is great for any home appliances or haddware contruction fixes you need for the house, backyard etc. They have more item varieties than other home depot locations. The only down side is some staff members especially by the wood area tend to be a little rude and lazy when you need help. They also take forever sometimes to get you a specific equiment or whatever it may and can give you the run around. Other than that, this place is really great for any housing supples ! read more

Kitchen renovation secaucus: it seemed like they knew what they were doing at first. So we decided to go with their service. Unfortunately when it came down to the order. The person helping me by the name of Robert didn't do his work. I was stuck with not having a kitchen for about a month. Because the order was placed without having had a pre-inspection. I had to call myself the people who were installing which is done through another company. The company didn't have the information, which Robert failed to send. His excuse was he had personal emergencies, nobody else seem to be able to help. Though I did receive an apology. I feel it's important that people know the process. Was there yesterday to pick up a can of Rustoleum spray paint. I couldn't find the color I was looking for and was looking to see if another brand had it. A friendly blonde employee came up and asked if I needed help. Told her it looks like the paint was sold out... she then told me it was probably sold out and went thru the cans diligently and found one wayyyy in the back with dust all over it... to which she brought it away and cleaned it for me... I wanted to buy some wood for a home project, once I arrived there no one to be found for help, I ask the cashier next to the lumber department she did call an employee to come and help me I waited one hour no body came to help me. So I came into the store today and usually I can find everything on my own because I have experience with hardware. However, the worker Christina was walking around slowly trying to do no work. So then I figured what the heck I can't find my product and asked her where it was and instantly she directed me to another employee. Fine no problem. But the problem was that I turned and looked at her not on purpose I was just looking around and she goes "why are you looking at me for what are you looking at." First of all, you are rude right away to me and did not want to help forcing a colleague to assist and then she continues to be nasty. This place has the worst tool rental place. The employees don't know what they are doing. I rented a water pressure machine and had to go back and forth 4 times for a simple issue. When I went there to return the item at 7 pm the place was closed even tho the place closes at 10 pm. We had to wait for half an hour for them to open the place up. Absolutely horrible customer experience. I unfortunately had to call here several times on behalf of my former boss, since many of the Home Depots in Manhattan are only showrooms. I called here a few times to order different wood casings and every time was a headache. While the person who helped me on the phone was extremely helpful, the order ALWAYS fell through. It either never showed up, or was severely delayed. There were several times where I called to track my order and nobody seemed to know where the truck was, and had no way of tracking down the driver. One time they said the delivery was en route, next they said it had yet to leave the store. Next they said it was already delivered - it wasn't - and then said it was still on the way but they couldn't give me an ETA because the driver was unreachable. It was extremely frustrating when we needed things on a deadline. I would never trust this this place for anything. Everyone who worked here I spoke to, expect for the person who helped me out in the specific wood casings department, seemed to not have any idea what they were talking about. read more

Another time, went and bought Sheetrock by the bulk and they gave me the wrong size after reviewing the receipt and placing it on the truck. I had to inspect it myself and show them it was incorrect. First time we wanted to buy a close out vanity floor sample as it was out of stock and the Manager refused to sell it to us. Went to Hazlet NJ location and they sold theirs to us without any issue. Today we came here to buy in stock kitchen cabinets. There was a forklift blocking the cabinets we needed. Asked someone to come move it, other associates have called for assistance 4 times. It's your typical Home Depot.... But customer service here sucks! I'm often waiting 10-15 minutes for help... I'd do it myself but I don't they'd be OK with me running their blind cutting equipment... we needed blinds to be cut down to a custom size which is included in the price of the blinds but I'm often standing there for 15+ waiting for someone to come help me! It's not even like they were busy with another customer, they were just gone! They have relatively decent stock and parking is never a problem. But the only reason they have two stars is their customer service is such a pain to deal with. Obviously they hate their jobs, but why would you act like it? You are hired to do a professional job so please treat it like so... Customer service here can be horrible at times... On one occasion, we came in looking for bubble wrap to wrap up some fine china and chandeliers and such. We asked where we could find it at this store on our way in and they told us they don't carry bubble wrap. Strange... other home depot do carry bubble wrap! So I thought perhaps they don't carry it. So we wandered the store because it was our last effort to find it as we were new to the area and didn't know of any other options. Surprisingly we found the area they kept them in. Unfortunately for us, the ones that we wanted were not on the shelves. So we asked an employee (after several minutes of searching for one) to help us with our search. He searched and found that they had multiple on stock and didn't know why they weren't on the shelves. So we asked if he had any in top stock and he "searched" the entire store's top stock for it and couldn't find it despite their computers showing some in stock. So we took it upon ourselves to search for it as well. Guess what? We found it a few aisles over... Lesson learned, you need to do things yourself at this home depot otherwise nothing will get done. On a separate occasion, I was making creme brulee at home and ordered an insane soldering torch from amazon that users were reporting worked very well for creme brulee because you have good control of the torch. Anyways, I grabbed butane (for hot pot burners) from Mitsuwa thinking it was what I could use to fill it... but I didn't have any luck with it so I went to Home Depot to find some. As I came in, I asked where I could find it. The employee proceeded to tell me I would have to go to their North Bergen store to get anything like that because the Secaucus store doesn't carry Propane, butane, etc. According to him, that location is way too close to the Lincoln Tunnel to carry anything explosive. That makes sense... I guess? So from what I learned from previous visits to this place, I learned I need to look for myself. Surely enough, I found tons of butane and bernzomatic torches that I could use to fill or replace my torch and dessert for the night was saved! I remember coming to Home Depot as a kid and the employees actually knew what they were doing and they were very helpful and could give you good advice... I guess those days are long gone now. Sigh... Sadly I continue to go here just because there are no other options... Lowes is pretty much the same thing despite the fact that they advertise otherwise... read more

Although we live close to this Home Depot, I finally decided "enough" yesterday. We bought a toilet and because my husband is in his 70s, we asked the cashier if someone could help us load it into our car. We were willing to pay for this service. The cashier made a call. Twenty minutes later, nobody had shown up. I decided to go over to Customer Service to ask them if they could page somebody. They looked at me with such annoyance, ignored me, and when I asked again, one of them picked up the phone, paged somebody and then slammed down the phone. Meanwhile, a guy walks into the store with only one shoe on, and half his belly hanging out, from under a ripped undershirt, and he starts careening around the store. Nobody ever came to help us. This store is everything a store shouldn't be; unhelpful, nasty attitudes, slow, almost non-existent service, poor lighting, poorly run individual departments - the whole place just feels like it's exhausted and its time has passed. I realize Home Depot pays notoriously low wages, so probably I would be angry if I worked there as well. The whole place just reeks of misery and low morale. We will never go back. read more

This is my go to store for gardening, grilling and home repair items. The customer service is dependent on the department you are in. Was just there yesterday when my wife discovered that our bed is not a true queen when we got our new mattress. We had to improvise a platform so our new mattress would fit. We got a very helpful person named Julio who recommended the items we needed and tried to find ways to make it even cheaper. Will definitely be back in a couple of weeks for my gardening needs. read more
