Only customer in the paint area approached a young employee in one of the ales if this was the paint for a exterior door and also for the exterior. He state no, you have to go two ales that way, towards the middle on this side almost to the bottom (using his arms pointing directions), then said no more closer to this area (using his arms pointing to the ales we were at) and maybe not so much at the bottom but more to the middle you will find it. As I walked away more confused, I went and look and look. As I was walking back I saw this same male employee standing in front of the cashier with no other customers except me, I asked him "do you work in this area?" He responded "yes", at this point I responded " then why didn't you just show me where the paint for the door is at?." At this point he slowly walked out of the cashier area and walked over to where I was at at grabbed a pamphlet and handed it to me, I looked at him and stated I don't need that I need black paint. He start telling about stripping the paint as the stain needs to get on the grain. I asked him what stripper and he points over there. I said show me, as he just points. As he was talking I interrupted him and said to paint my door. That's when he said "oh you don't want stain". He proceeded to walk to the cashier and his back is to me and ask gloss or no gloss, I said no gloss as I get to the counter and then points to something on the counter of the paint. By this time I've had it with all the disrespect and the nonchalance he is giving me and walked away and said I'll talk to my husband. I did call the manager Matt, explain the above. This generation of employees are so indifferent, lack customer service, self entitled and lack a moral compass. I came for paint, walked out with nothing...going elsewhere. read more

I was in the drywall aisle getting my materials together for a construction job I am working on today for my employer and this female worker comes up to me and tells me to move out of the aisle as a fork lift is coming and they need to close the aisle. I was also waiting for my coworker to come back with the cart so we can load it and this girl purposely closed the aisle so my coworker could not get down the aisle. I had seven bags of 40minute plus 7 buckets of compound and other items which i had to drag to the end of the aisle. This girl knew I was waiting but she was disgustingly rude. She works there and can wait for the customer to finish, especially construction workers as we have CONTRACT JOBS to get to... her lazy entitled rude ass did not! I shop at your store for my employer who is a major construction company at least 7 times a week. I may need to rethink going to this store when their staff is rude. I would rather travel to Lowe's at this point! Maybe had her demeaner and attitude been professional I would have moved but I was still shopping and she was extremely rude/irritated/snotty... this 20something year old girl with long brown hair was a bitch about it. i do all my shopping at Home Depot. I usually enjoy shopping there. this last visit when I walked in everyone in the customer service desk were busy talking to each other. I had to make a return and this guy with an attitude advised me that they do not give cash back anymore for any returns. most if the people that work at the customer service department have always been so helpful. I shop there so much I do t understand why all of a sudden they decided to change the policy. read more

This review is for the paint department, though I feel it's also worth noting that this Home Depot now has great customer service in general. Okay, so i needed to paint my kids' rooms. I've watched Bob Ross a couple times, but I'm no Leonardo da Vinci. I had sketched out what I planned to do and the people at the paint counter were super helpful. They probably made me at least 50 paint samples. I didn't expect them to have a vast knowledge of paint. Some people have unrealistic expectations, in my opinion. All I expected them to be able to do was get the right paint, put it in the paint mixer, and press the right buttons. I ended up being blown away by their expertise. They made great paint recommendations, which I regrettably ignored because they were more expensive. I ended up using Glidden, but in hindsight, I definitely would have gone with the Behr 1 coat they recommended. It would have saved me a ton of time, and in the end, money, too. Some of the shades I used needed 7 or 8 coats to cover. Anyway, they know what they're talking about, so do what they recommend. They also helped me select the proper brushes for the job. In this case I took their recommendations and was very happy I did the right thing at least once in this process. In the end my kids' rooms came out great. Huge thanks to the paint crew for helping me make my kids' dream rooms into reality. In need of a locked mailbox. Saw the product on line. Went to store. Nobody to help me ... found mailbox. Price was different than on line price. Needed pole attachment. Asked 3 representative to please send me someone to this aisle ( me doing all the running around store trying to find someone) waited over 30 minutes....NOBODY EVER SHOWED UP TO HELP ME... They continually advertise at the store and on the website to pay online and pick up in store. I'm all about being faster and easier, especially when Im typically toting around a baby. Soooo I tried it annnndddd... I've currently been waiting almost 20 minutes for someone to get me my pick up order. It would've been faster for me to find the items I needed and check out than wait. I really, really like this Home Depot. I've shopped at all the Fresno stores as well as the Hanford one, and I can never find ANYONE to answer questions for me, much less help me! The Selma location is different. We went shopping there this weekend and were greeted by several different employees, AND asked if we needed any help! I was like, what store am I in!? We couldn't find one of those big flat bed carts and an employee went outside to help us find one. In the garden department, I was looking for a specific plant and a nice older gentleman said he'd help me find it. He looked all around and came to find me later. They didn't have it, but it was so nice of him to at least look! I mean, come on, how many stores really do that anymore!? So anyway, we had a very nice shopping experience there. The best part was, they had about 500 different registers open, so checkout was really quick! Yes, this is my new favorite Home Depot. Yay! read more

The gentleman in the tool rental department was rude! Offered no help and no explanation as to why he wouldn't rent us a tool. I believe if your going to be working where you need to interact with paying customers you should have a little respect. When My father returned to resolve an issue with his purchase. He has ordered boxes of tile to remodel his home and to our surprise, the Home Depot decided it would be no big deal to mix in boxes of different tile probably assuming we wouldn't notice. This has cost him extra in labor and his time. He experienced very rude customer service by a female associate who instead of helping him return the tile told him, "well I didn't sell you this tile" and even got mad at him for asking why the Home Depot had sold him mixed tile. Home Depot was out of the AC I wanted so I ordered online. The order went through and they took the money and I waited about two weeks to get nothing. Not shipped to store, not delivered, not even an email. My order is stuck in processing. I've been on hold for 27 minutes now and haven't spoken to a human. I wish I would have went through Lowes instead. Yesterday, while at Home Depot, I purchased 6 bags of rocks. I am not one to ask for help, but had broke a couple of fingers last week. I asked at the register if someone could help load them in my truck, the young girl asked her manager and he told her nobody could at that time. She proceeded to tell me to back up my truck and that she would help me, while she was the only one in the nursery. Really, Home Depot what bad customer service, thank you to the people that were in line behind who came and helped me unload my bags of rocks. Always a problem at this store. See many empires around but none of them seem to be able to help you. Have to call some other department and then you wait, and wait until eventually someone else comes but often they can't help either. Or either out of stock or don't carry common item. Don't shop here if you want to be harassed by the LOSS PREVENTION guy. He followed me around the store like if I was a thief little did he know I walked in with a package of the item I was looking for. Upon checking out he called the entire store dept leaders and they huddled around the front staring me down. I am no thief I work hard for my money and the last thing I want to do is feel discriminated and harassed in such setting. The store manager needs to do something about the way this LP employee handles his business. I am a business owner and quite frankly that was very un profesional and business like. I have came here several times and each time it has been a great disappointment due to their horrible customer service. The last time I went there I waited over an hour for some bags of cement and just got tired of waiting and left to a Lowes in Visalia. The associates were not even doing anything but wandering around and one associate left of embarrassment. Utterly disappointed with this store. Never again coming here and will just stick to my Lowes in Visalia, where the customer service is actually great. read more

Severely under staffed and have no knowledge of what the Pro Desk is doing vs the Customer Service desk. They are a back and forth mess and completely not trained properly. The lack of manager support is obvious especially after 5pm. Unfortunately I have to continue using them due to my corporate procedures when purchasing supplies. Well, Home Depot has done it again. after selling and shipping $1000 of tile that I paid for and trying to charge me a restock fee on a refrigerator that they didn't have in stock because I cancelled my order, I still went back for more punishment. I need to have my sliding glass door replaced and I thought that French doors would be a nice change. I paid my $50 measuring fee and some one called me just a couple hours to schedule. I thought this was going well! He showed up, measured the door and told my daughter-in-law and I separately, because I was at work, that we did not need to have a custom door and it would take approximately 3 weeks to get it installed. After 1.5 weeks, Home Depot finally contacted me to come in to pay for the door and installation. I went the next day and got the run around because their computers were down. I was promised by 2 employees that they would contact me that afternoon. I did not receive a call. Last Thursday morning I called the store. I explained my situation and was told that I needed to come in to choose my custom door. I was shocked! I asked to have the gentleman that measured the door to contact me. He and his boss called me and he denied saying that we didn't need a custom door and that he didn't know what he was measuring for. Two minutes later, he then stated that he thought he was measuring for a new sliding glass door. Laura had told him while he was measuring that we wanted French doors. He told us that it would cost an extra $85 to build up the door prior to placement of the new door. He completely lied about the whole situation. He stated that he did not know that they keep in stock even though when he was measuring he stated that I'd was close to a standard door. Home Depot offered to refund my $50 or take $50 off of my custom door. I will not go back! read more

I had a somewhat difficult transaction to make and the following employees: Magda, Dotty and especially Hector were amazing and very helpful and extremely patient with helping to fix the order we were buying. I would definitely go there from now on with any home projects. It's nice to know that there are employees that take pride in their work. I just wish that there were more employees like them at every store that I shop at. I'd give them 100%, 10 out of 10 and two thumbs up.
