Home Depot must do better with employees being available AND helpful. On my two visits this HD had no one in the back to cut the lumber - until I walked up front and the rude cashier at the Contractors door told me I just have to look around as she has been calling back there and no one is there. The 2nd time I went to purchase more, after telling both customer service and that rude cashier again, that I needed help, no one came. After waiting to get help with cutting for 20 minutes, I called the store line on my phone from the wood cutting area. No surprise.....no one answered when I asked for customer service. Half an hour later after 2 other customers waiting with me left, a worker walked by and said his shift didn't start yet but he would help. Shame on the management here for keeping customers waiting to purchase your products and for also making your employees know they are so short staffed that they start work early. read more

Terrible customer service. Friday night at 6:30pm. Waited 15 minutes for someone to unlock the cage so we could buy a generator. I had to have the employee at self checkout call for assistance twice for someone to unlock the cage. Employee that unlocked cage let us know he had to take the generator and hold it until we were ready for check out. Sure, sounds fine. Only checkout lanes open were self checkout. Fine. Waited in line about ten minutes due to customer volume (no big deal). Once we started checking out, we told an employee at self checkout that another employee had taken out a generator for us. His response was essentially why are you telling me. We had no idea how we were supposed to get our generator and he could not be more clear that this was not his problem. He finally enlightened us with the fact that we had to go to customer service to get the generator. Hubs went to customer service and asked someone to bring the generator only to be told we needed to get in the line we were just in! Ma'am, no. Hubs explained that we were actually at self checkout holding up the line because we needed to scan and pay for our generator. She finally relented and had someone bring it over. I don't work here. I would like to preface this we have no complaints with the installation expert as he was just doing his job. Our issues are with the management and how they mishandled every aspect of this situation and did nothing to rectify their errors. Over Memorial Day weekend we shopped around for a new dishwasher because our broke that month. This store is close to us, so we shopped there frequently and decided to purchase it through them. It took a while to schedule delivery (they said it was due to supply issues) and we didn't think much about it because we figured a lot of other people purchased over the sale weekend as well. However, when it finally arrived the installation gentleman informed us it would have to be re-scheduled because as he unboxed it, he noticed it was broken. He said the store would call to re-schedule the delivery once they had the replacement. He was super nice and professional. Next, we waited for the call which never came, then one day as we were arriving to work, he called us to tell us he was at the house. My partner explained to him that he was at work and could not turn back around. That day we called and explained they never contacted us; they just simply re-scheduled us without speaking to us asking if the date and time would work. It was extremely unprofessional to think that people just stay home and don't go to work. They re-scheduled the delivery for another date, but it was repeatedly expressed that it had to be after 12:00 noon because we had in-person morning meetings, and they politely assured us that it would not be scheduled for delivery until after noon. Cut to us arriving at work (again) and receiving a call that they were at the house. Once again, we called back and asked for the manager because at this point, we just wanted a refund and to go to another company that had better business practices. They apologized and re-scheduled it for two weeks later on Saturday. We made sure we had no plans and had it successfully installed. I don't ask businesses for free things from businesses, but I also know they very easily could have handled the situation better and could have easily taken money off the price / installation or whatever. We will not be returning to Home Depot. For future appliances, we will be using Best Buy and for Home Improvement needs we will go to Lowes. I am quite disheartened by this as I have always loved this store but unfortunately a few bad apples really can spoil to whole bunch. read more

Mrs. Marsha was so helpful at customer service and after do a process also she contact to me whit Mr. Paul at the doors area. I love this Home Depot. The store is well laid out, the employees are friendly and helpful, and the store has most everything I could need or want. I have been here countless times and I have never had a bad experience. In fact, shopping trips here are fast and painless. I can usually find what I need and if I have questions about something I saw online that I cannot locate in the store (ie. types of tile) I always have found a helpful associate to assist me. I love that Home Depot offers community events and has events for young builders. I recently took my daughter to this location to do a craft of the month which happened to be a Christmas Countdown Calendar. The craft and event was nicely organized and the woman overseeing it (her name escapes me at the moment [mom brain]-Alice maybe ?) was sweet as pie. Even though my daughter is under two we were treated kindly and given the same respect that the other attendees were given. I was at Home Depot on Dale mabry yesterday and I was in a hurry and left my car on and I have been coming here for the past 5 years weekly to buy stuff for work . I asked the orange curly hair old lady to ring me up sod and she refused . She wanted me to go grab the sod and put it in my cart and bring it all the way to the front . Personally, I really love this Home Depot. Lots of area for parking. Nice and spacious store with everything that you need. It is also conveniently located to whole foods, target, home goods, and nordstrom racks. I specifically want to shout out my experience in the nursery. It was absolutely amazing. They had so many plants to choose from. An area for growth would be in the area of customer service in the store. While searching throughout I had a few questions and literally could not find anyone to answer any of them. read more

The home depot on south dalemabry has seriously declined in it's services in the past few years. I was going to use them for a tile installation but could not get a reliable quote; every time I asked about the price it changed. I could not talk to the same person to get the job done and no one knew from one call to the next about the job I needed done. I was transferred to multiple people who could not help me. I paid a nonrefundable fee for an installation estimate, and could not go forward with the job. They wanted all of the money upfront but failed to give me any assurances that the job would be done in a timely professional manner. I gave up $4000 to do the right thing and share my experience with you...my experience with Home Depot is as follows Re: job #11128950 My name is Lori xxxxx and I have been in contact with you at various times through the duration of this project. Here is a recap of the issues involved: -projected time required for project initially one day (June 29) morphing to weeks then months -window manufactured incorrectly requiring a reorder -glass door panel installed with cracked glass requiring replacement -all window screens installed backwards and ripped. -window sash damaged requiring replacement -door trim installed without prior approval or discussion resulting in negative esthetic changes to the structure -installed window was inoperative requiring repair. The time I was required to provide for this project far exceeded what I was told to expect. Home Depot's mistakes cost me tens of thousands of dollars in lost wages. As an airline Captain a day off means not flying a trip, which can mean 3-6 days of lost revenue. In addition to the financial cost, my integrity was attacked including Atlanta personnel accusing me of lying regarding lack of notification for the time this project may require. I have all correspondence available for review. I endured misogynistic and disrespectful attitudes, actions, and words from your installation contractors. I was told I was behaving like a cop when I asked to see Home Depot identification. I was told parts for the windows did not exist, and then I found the parts discarded in the garbage. I was told parts did not need to be installed because the installers did not want to install them. I was talked about in a derogatory manner in Spanish. Unbeknownst to the contractors, I speak Spanish. I was shown one color and type of trim which I approved, and then the contractor installed something else claiming it was the same. When I held the sample next to what was installed, the difference was obvious. When caught in the lie, the installer walked off the job leaving a 200lb glass door panel balanced precariously against a wall along with trash and other hazardous materials. The financial and emotional costs created by Home Depot's mistakes have been excessive. I expect a company that prides themselves on the quality of their products, workmanship, and guarantees to want to rectify mistakes to the best of their ability, not the least. The dismissive email I received from Home Depot stating their offer of a $2500 rebate was fair compensation "and they were sticking with that", was insulting in tone and amount. I don't expect something for nothing, but I also don't expect a purchase to cost so much beyond what I was told to anticipate. We all pay for our mistakes one way or another, usually financially or with our reputations. We don't always choose to do the right thing, but we always feel the consequences of our choices. We love this Home Depot at the stadium except when we have to buy window blinds. The Home Depot lady that works in that area has very little desire to help and today my wife waited 20 minutes while this employee chatted with her friend. She didn't take a break even from the conversation to ask my wife how she could be helped. Maybe she was on a break in the middle of the aisle but didn't communicate that. We have bought window blinds for about 40 windows in two houses and need even more. So we have started going to Home Depot on florida Ave where there is a guy named richard that goes way beyond the call of duty to help. HD get your employee some training . read more

One slick thing about this chain is their consistency, at least in my experience, across multiple stores in differing markets. I recently recognized a renewed customer engagement here and at other stores to acknowledge customers within the first 1-2 minutes of entering the store. I appreciate this as former construction company management as well as a customer in general. Few stores focus on that contact anymore, relegating their space to self-service outlets. A recent addition I found pretty cool was a key-making kiosk that made duplicates in 2 minutes. BUYERS BEWARE!!!!! Bought a dishwasher from this store and payed to have it delivered as well. It came in a pristine box and when I opened it the right hand corner was dented as if it had fallen off of a truck (see pictures below). When I went back to get a replacement I was told that they wouldn't take it back and claimed no responsibility. They blamed Samsung even though it came from their distribution center. This all happened within the week after delivery. I am now out $750 and I have an unusable dishwasher in the middle of my Kitchen. I used to buy from The Home Depot everyday for my remodel but never again and I will be contacting consumer affairs on this matter. read more

this Home Depot store where I shop I go all over Florida from my job was extremely unprofessional towards one of my Haitian employees who happens t to also the licensed general contractor when he walked into the store, he felt disrespected. This is not the first time that this has happened like other stores that customers he overheard an individual that saying the N-word he walked out of the store and will never returned. This door is completely inappropriate and they have profile me because I'm Hispanic and Mexican. They have done this to me so many times in the store that I shopping at the I've spent over $900,000 at the Home Depot on things that I need for my my customers had to suffer because the prices are higher since all this happened. I've canceled my pro card and paid off my balance and no longer do business with any Home Depot store, disrespect my me because I'm an employer of a guy not right to do to somebody it was a supervisor of the paint department that made the comment my employee heard it. We don't shop of their stores because they treat us we're contractors. Let me tell you people have a $6 million company we make 2 million a profit like this Home Depot and the rest of them they never have anything and if I check it's right there they're just too lazy to bring it up the delivery card. The garden department has helped me here not OK. I travel all over Florida to try to help people and give them the cheapest price possible. I usually make 50 $60,000 estimates from the job that I do from roofing to anything under general contracting, and electric work as well we are registered, licensed and bonded for both general contracting and electrical electrician work. I don't like shopping in the the prices are really high and I can't pass on to my customers so due to the I've I've canceled my pro card and paid off the balance. I really like this particular Home Depot. Obviously their extensive hours are fantastic but their location is solid as well. It is located in the same parking lot as the Nordstrom Rack and is also adjacent to some of my favorite shopping destinations (DSW, Target) which typically allows me to accomplish more than one task on the average shopping trip. The Home Depot's parking lot is quite large and never too full. It can be a pain in the rear to get out of the parking lot on a busy weekend day, but Sweet Tomatoes' parking lot can serve as a pretty convenient shortcut out of the traffic and mess. This Home Depot makes returns pretty simple, and the self-check out is highly convenient if you're just grabbing a few small items. Sometimes it can be hard to find an unoccupied employee for help with products/inquiries but if I roam around long enough, I can usually find someone to help me. I have shopped at this Home Depot for so many things but the two main departments that I have had interactions in are the equipment/tool rental and the painting department. Both of those experiences were efficient and I was able to take care of the home improvement projects that I came for. I prefer Home Depot over Lowe's and will always return to this location so long as I am living in the area! read more

I love that Home Depot offers classes for DIY projects, most of their employees are very knowledgeable and they sell any and everything for your home/yard. I've never had a bad experience with Home Depot. They have a flexible return policy, decent pricing and they even have tools you can rent. I've used their tool rental service a few times. It's always a fast and easy process. Need a paint color? Bring your own sample and they can custom make the color for you. Hopefully, one day I can sit in one of their diy classes. Writing about an experience regarding customer service and theft prevention from 2016 that still upsets me to this day as there was no follow up, follow through, or assistance for something that seemed pretty simple to solve. The situation: I purchased 6 $50.00 Home Depot Gift Cards From Publix for a wedding gift. Gift cards went missing from said wedding. I went to Home Depot directly after the customer service line advised me to. After 100,000 back and forth phone calls between Corporate, 3rd party gift card people, Publix - all while I was standing in front of a representative from Home Depot (who also spoke to most of said parties when needed... we actually called from the HD store landline) & a massive reprimand from the same customer service woman who was "helping" me at this Home Depot location for buying HD cards at Publix, it was determined that Theft Prevention at the store would be given the info and would follow up. I had all of the gift card numbers, my receipts from Publix, everything. I NEVER HEARD A THING. My follow up attempts were passed off and no one seemed to know about anything or "the appropriate people will give you a call". I should've just burned 3 100 dollar bills. I come to this Home Depot all the time. It's right by my house and has the best employees. I've been to all of them around here in Tampa and have always been treated the best here. Yesterday, I had a return of a tool that broke and even though I didn't have my receipt, the employee swapped me out for a new one. I do come in here a couple times a week and maybe he remembered me , but I was so happy I didn't have to send it out to the manufacturer like I've had to do in the past . I've recently renovated several homes and needed faux wood blinds for windows in each home. Roughly 18 windows per home. Every time I came to this HD the machine is broken that cuts the blinds or the employee working in the blinds department is very unfriendly and unhelpful. I waited for over 20 minutes for her help--she saw me standing there as another employee walked me to her department--and she had a full on personal conversation with a couple in the store--not sure if they were friends, family or just random customers. I walked out reminded why I don't shop this HD for blinds......I would highly recommend asking for Richard at the HD on Florida Ave if you need to purchase faux wood blinds He has been so helpful when I have needed blinds measured and cut in the past. read more

The pick up process whether inside or curbside is a disaster. I wait at least 20-30 minutes. It's very inefficient. Clearly a better process is needed when you have an order for pick up. No one comes to curbside: and then when you go inside you get help eventually from the counter. Then waiting for someone to bring it up from the back to the front of the store. Worst Home Depot Customer Service. We have spent over 80K at Home Depot over the last year and a half working to remodel our previous home in Arizona. During this time we purchased a new lawn mower (about 4 months ago). We had recently moved to Tampa and bought a new home. Turns out after a couple of uses of the lawn mower the bag broke. We went to take or mower into the Home Depot store off of Dale Mabry in hopes to get a replacement bag. Upon visiting the customer service counter we were rudely greeted by a woman who clearly did not want to help us in the first place. I am not sure if she was having a bad day and took it out on us or if she is just a rude person to begin with. From the start she had attitude. We brought the bag into the store and asked if they sold replacement bags OR if there was some kind of warranty that could cover the bag... especially since it was so new. We also mentioned that we purchased it on our Home Depot Credit Card in Arizona and they offer hassle free returns within 12 months. Being that we did not purchase this lawn mower at this particular store she stated that she could not help us and that we were on our own. The then we got frustrated and said that surely there was a way that she could help. At that time she called a gentleman from the garden department and she stormed away while throwing pens across the counter. She stepped over to help someone else without saying anything to us. Another woman who was starting her shift came over and asked if we had been helped. We simply said... well we thought we were but the woman helping us walked away and started helping another customer. At that time the original woman helping us began shouting at us stating that she told us that she was going to help someone else. Rather than argue with her we decided to ignore her craziness. You could tell the woman starting her new shift was annoyed. The new woman helping us told us that the Home Depot Credit Card Hassle free guarantee was only if the product was unused and still in the original packaging. Who holds on to a product for 12 months without opening the box?! The new woman helping us also stated that she could not help us because the item was not purchased at their store. Finally a nice gentleman walked over to us from the garden department bringing us a new bag and said he would take care of the rest. Thank goodness for him. This place seriously had the worst customer service. Nothing but attitude and a hassle. We bought a house 2x the size of our old one that needs remodeling and you can bet we will not be spending our money at Home Depot. read more

I usually don't shop at Home Depot unless I need light bulbs or need to make a copy of a key, but I found myself here multiple times during the Christmas holiday this year. I must have a lost "deer in the headlights" look on my face every time I enter the store because the friendly staff always stops to help me. My husband and I are the least handy people I know so we don't attempt DIY projects. We made a few attempts to fix things in our home when we owned a condo in St. Pete and our projects usually resulted in calling professionals for help. Did you know you need a caulk gun to re-caulk a bathtub?!?! I thought the stuff just came out of the tube like toothpaste (I was so wrong!). Lucky for us we sold our condo so there are no more home renovation projects. Our current apartment will fix anything in our unit (including caulking our bathtub!). I found myself at Home Depot when I heard they were selling Christmas trees. I purchased a 6 foot Douglass Fir at Home Depot for the bargain price of $38. The guys were nice enough to load the tree into my trunk for me. I returned the next day to purchase a Christmas tree stand, lights and ornaments from Home Depot. Christmas ornaments at Home Depot? I know, I was surprised as well! This year they carried the Martha Stewart collection so I couldn't help myself when I saw the adorable (and very affordable) multicolored bird ornaments. The store's return policy is great. The angel I purchased didn't fit on our tree so I was able to return it without any hassle. I specifically like this Home Depot because it is in the same shopping plaza as a Total Wine and More. I was thrifty when purchasing my Christmas tree stand at Home Depot and bought the cheapest $20 model on the floor. The stand is total junk and the bolts fall off the screws as you try to anchor the tree. Luckily, I had purchased a bottle of wine next door at Total Wine so when the stand started to fall apart and I was cussing up a storm I poured myself a couple of glasses of wine. An hour later the tree was up (sort of), but who cares at this point because I'm pretty tipsy and don't really care what the tree looks like! **Spend the extra $10-$20 and get the upgraded model... trust me! My cheap plastic tree stand is going in the trash. read more

Simply put, this Home Depot could give away bars of gold with every purchase and it still would not be worth visiting due to the parking situation. Basically what we have here is a huge amount of parking, including a multi-story parking garage, for numerous popular businesses, and just two routes for ingress and egress. You've got Home Depot, Total Wine, Target and Whole Foods as the anchors, and probably ten other reasonably popular businesses/restaurants, all sharing the same two access points. If you go at any humanly reasonable hour of the day, you will be committing to wasting 30 minutes of your day simply to get in and out. Need that can of paint or that smoke alarm to get the darn old one on the ceiling to stop beeping? Well, add 30 minutes to the 5 it should have taken to get in and out. It is so f'ing frustrating. Just don't do it, go elsewhere. Besides all that, there's really nothing that sets this Home Depot aside from any other, so if you do visit, you'll find all the helpful employees and typical layout you expect, so really not much reason to review any further as the parking is the only issue. read more

I ordered custom vertical blinds in January 2020, they did not come in as scheduled so I had no window covering for several weeks which I over looked since they were special order (oversized). There was an issue with construction/workmanship of the valance. Communication with the store is atrocious, the customer service department is rude when the department doesn't answer and you are routed back to them, so it's necessary to physically go to the store to speak to anyone. In 7 months I am still trying to get my issue resolved and although the real problem lies with the vendor, the length of time and lack of communication between the store, vendor and myself is totally unacceptable. 7 months, that's right seven months, has passed and I am still trying to get resolution. I get more excuses than help in an attempt to appease me, or been talked down to and made to feel like I am the one in the wrong or being unreasonable. My patience is gone and still no resolution yet I remain calm and respectful as to not make my situation worse. I DO NOT recommend purchasing anything that is more than purchase and consume.
