I'm in Tampa frequently, as my home office is there, and this store is very convenient for me as it is on the route to and from our Air BnB and my office. Convenient location for commuters along W Hillsborough and Memorial but not the easiest shopping experience. Compared to Lowe's, this store is not as well laid out or as clean. Prices range from more to less expensive than Lowe's, so it's wise to compare online before going in. I've rented their carpet cleaner and thought it was well worth it. read more

Its always a good experience coming to the HD. While on the way to the depot to shop for a Door I had a back and fourth with Wifey about who she thought was the better Home Improvement Store, Home Depot or Lowes. For me its like splitting hairs. I had a horrible experience with Home Depot Tampa with PGT window installation. For anyone looking for window replacements in Florida, we have many options, and I agree, prices vary by $100,000, with Anderson being the most expensive. Home Depot was not the cheapest, but not the highest, and seemed like a great choice with PGT windows. After spending $70,000 in August (HD requires you to pay up front), we are still waiting for the job to be complete in March. PGT and HD continue to blame each other for wrong parts, missing parts, etc. The portion of the job that was completed failed inspection and had to be redone. The contractors hired have not been the issue; it's the missing parts, wrong items ordered, and even some items we paid for but were not even ordered until the day of job they realized were not here. So here I sit, another day having to work from home with hammering and dust all around because all the window work orders are completed during the week, and someone must be present. Maybe Lowes or Weathertite would have been a better choice to save my sanity. read more

I was busy putting in a new sink in my new house, and when it came time to put in the new garbage disposal I had ordered... I realize it was not going to fit like I wanted it to. So off I go... I was looking for a specific brand and type of disposal, so went to several of local home improvement stores trying to find exactly what I wanted. This Home Depot location had a disposal in stock, that would do the job... so I bought it. One of the plumbing staff answered a question I had about a sink strainer they carried also, and so I bought one of those too (nicer than the one I had), lol! Got home, and installed everything... and it is done! Home Depot is always great to visit... and staff is helpful (even if they are sometimes hard to find!) read more

This place is always packed, however staff is always willing to help. Things that you do not think you will need to complete a project or task the friendly associates are sure to remind you. During this time the associates are wearing mask, so that was good to see. You know to see the new normal. :) Fully stocked, and if they do not have it, never had a problem with them helping me find the item I am looking for at a different location. If needed they will assist you with purchasing the item online. Certain departments in the store can get a little crowded and they do their best to make sure people are actually social distancing themselves but it is kinda hard for them to do when trying to assist others. read more

This is the closest store for me currently and while it's laid out very much the same as other stores I've shopped I found getting help to answer my questions nearly impossible on a Wednesday night. I asked staff members throughout the store to page someone to hardware. After wasting about 20min waiting I when to 1 of 2 cashiers to ask once again to send a page for me. At last 4 times is the key on my trip for some knowledgeable help at least and I was able to find the anchors I needed to complete my home project. I need to return something which went rather smoothly the next day though it was morning customer service actually greeted me with a smile and I didn't have a receipt handy though I could've gotten it from my email it was faster to just return with my ID for the four dollar gift card. Horrible experience. I am done with this store Hillsborough #6361. Always bad customer service. Place 2 mobile orders around 4 pm. Never got the email that they were ready to be picked up, but because I needed the water heater for today, I went ahead and drove to the store to see if they were working on them. Upon my arrival, I asked an associate if she would know anything about my mobile order. The only question she asked me was: did you place the order today? I said yes. She said: Your order won't be ready today because we are so busy you have to wait 24 hours. BEING BUSY IS UNDERSTANDABLE. customer perception to see 6 associates chatting among themselves at the return section where the mobile orders get prepare, it's a different perception than being busy. But that's ok. Associate told me that if I pick them up myself they were able to release it. I went ahead and almost broke my back getting the 40G water heater and 2 more things and when I went back to return dept. the African-American young lady looked at me like I didn't know what I was talking about when I asked her to release the items to me. She went ahead and do it but one of my orders was out in a locker minutes before that. She gave me a code and that's it. No help to retrieve it even though I had a water heater to carry. When I asked her if one of the guys could help me load the water heater in my car... the answer I got was: well, I can ask them.... Horrible customer service that's all I have to say. I started going to Lowe's because they treat me better, but the water heaters were $50 more expensive over there. But next time I will gladly pay the $50 over just to not feel that I purchased an item and gone depot did me a favor by allowing me to pick it up. I am in finance and retail and I have to say that the hiring process, the accountability of the manager of that store is way off. read more

A decent Home Depot. The store is relatively clean. The associates are helpful and friendly when they're around which due to the size of the store it can be difficult to find help. The shelves seemed to all be well stocked and the prices were comparable to other home improvement stores. The aisles seem a little tighter than most Home Depot stores and the layout does not seem very intuitive. Some aisles were closed at one end but open at the other for no apparent reason. A convenient location if you're heading towards Tampa or Oldsmar. The parking lot is also easy to get in and out of at most times of the day, as long as you're not trying to go towards citrus park. The parking lot is in need of repainting as a lot of the lines are difficult to see. read more

There is no social distancing going on in the store Majority of the customers do not wear masks I asked a man politely to move he was standing in the middle of the aisle doing nothing and he told me to F off 2 time times I asked two different employees to please get a manager for me and went outside and waited in the at the entrance and no manager ever came I called the store and talk to a lady who said she was a manager and said she would look into it I am a senior citizen and the young man was about in his 30s He told me if I was worried about the virus I should stay home and not come to the store Two employees watched it happen and said nothing If you are concerned about your health you would be wise to give the store a wide berth the customers going to the store are out of control in the management does not want to do anything to control the customers read more

I am so mad ! Just bought a paint sprayer for 89$ and when I got home I open the box to use it and it's already got paint in it , somebody returned it dirty. Do you know how aggravating that is? I had to then get back in my car go to the store and exchange it. Home Depot you're getting a bad rap from me. I don't have these problems at Lowe's it just happens to be that you're closer. This store is the worst. I placed an online order over a month ago for pickup. Part of it has been missing and no one could tell me when it would be in. I have had to call this store everyday and get the run around from so many different people including managers. No matter what time I call or what day of the week it is the phone rings for almost 10 minutes before someone even answers. When I push a button for the department I need it still gives me the wrong department. Everyone there needs a lot more training it is pathetic. read more

When I told the guy at checkout that the do it yourself saw in the molding section was broken he told me to go there and wait for a manager to report that the saw needed fixing. I ordered a freezer online because it was suppose to be in stock. They charged my credit card and I made a payment when it was due (their Home Depot credit card). The day it was suppose to be delivered they sent me an email with a delivery window. When it didn't come, I called the store to find out why...they told me it was on back order and would be delivered in mid July. I don't know what happened to my freezer but I cancelled order and waited a week for my refund. This not the way to do business just because you are a big company, doesn't mean you shouldn't have a little customer service. Guess its time to start shopping at Lowe's. read more

I feel like I am at this Home Depot at least once a week. Whether it is making small renovations to our new home, landscaping or finding Christmas Decorations. They usually have exactly what I am looking for. While the greeters at the front are generally friendly, I have had some trouble locating help when I have questions at times and some staff have blatantly made themselves difficult to find. For example, I purchased some heavier items - an outdoor table and chairs set. They informed me that I should pull my truck around and they would help me load. After pulling the truck around, I am sure when I walked back in that I saw them glance my direction and then take off the other direction, not to be found in the area for awhile. I have had to walk around for awhile to find workers previously as well. On the flip side, I have encountered a few very friendly workers as well, who have walked me directly to items I am looking for. I am sure a few bad apples can spoil the bunch and this may not be representative of all the staff at Home Depot. I will give them three stars as they are usually dependable in having the items which I am looking for, and being much closer than Lowes (by several miles), but I definitely feel that the staff working at Lowes are much more friendly and helpful. read more

It's hard to believe that most of my entire life I've never lived further than a half mile from a Home Depot. I love Home Depot. Spent a lot of time with my father in a HD. Spent a lot of money and time renovating my homes by shopping at a HD. How Depot has a special place in my heart... and bank account for that matter. So I hate to do this but... This one isn't all that great. That being said, here's some tips for shopping at this specific Home Depot to make your shopping experience more effective. - If you have a question and need to find an employee who knows what they're talking about, good luck. Google your question or needs ahead of time and figure it out. There's maybe two employees who are helpful and though I can't remember his name, he's a kind gentleman with a huge curly white horseshoe/handlebar mustache; ask around and see if he's available. - When looking for a specific tool, hardware, or item; go on the Home Depot website. Filter your results by the store you're shopping in and it should tell you what Aisle and Bay your item is located in. Nine time out of ten it'll be there. - If the item shows only "one in stock," its most likely a floor model and those are NOT for sale. - When there's special sales or deal, JUMP ON QUICKLY! Once these "sale items," are sold out, they are not gonna re-stock them. At that point your best bet is to check surrounding stores for stock. - Know the difference between "in-store specials," and "online-shopping specials." The incentives and prices vary for each. - If you're a frequent shopper, add your email during check and have all of your receipts send via email. That way if you loose your receipt and need to return something BOOM, pull it up on your mobile device. DO NOT forget to opt out of email subscribed offers. - There's typically only one or two cashier-registers open at a time. Do self-check out. If you're buying bigger items, just wait in line for a cashier; it's easier. - The Customer Service counter works quicker if you have a receipt.. duh lol. (Some people still haven't figured that out.) - If you're a homeowner and NOT a contractor, save your money and buy Ryobi or Ridgid tools, they're pretty rugged, work just fine and get the job done. If you're a homeowner with deeper pockets and does DIY/wood working projects often; invest in DeWalt XR tools. They're sooo reliable and handle with excellence. Buy the batteries on Amazon or wait for holiday (Black Friday/Fathers Day) pricing and sales for any power tool. - Tool rentals are a seamless process. Just plan for long lines, and make sure you absolutely know when you're supposed to return the item and make sure it's clean when you return it. Stick to these tips and your experience should be just fine! Want more guidance and advice in person, head to a Lowes. They're more DIY friendly. As for me, I'm Home Depot ride-or-die, and will still make this my neighborhood store :) read more

Home Depot is a great store for so many things. DIY, home improvement, tools, paint, batteries, cabinets, the list goes on and on. They have a good selection in most areas and are competitively priced. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful in suggesting items and even showing you where they are located. I tend to buy several items for a project, so I don't have to make a return visit, prior to a projects completion. Because of the above stated fact, I am glad they have an easy return policy! I can go into this store and get lost for hours, looking at possible home renovations. What's a girl to do? Keep up with the men and the latest projects. read more

Since I've been back, I feel like I've been to this Home Depot at least 4 times every week, fixing things at the house. This Home Depot isn't in the best part of town and it is in a dilapidated shopping center (Home Depot being the only store left), but their employees here know the store inside and out. I asked one young man where the "flappers" were for the toilets and he was able to pinpoint the directions right down to the level the shelf was on in the exact spot of the isle! AMAZING! The people here are super helpful and knowledgeable no matter what department. Their prices are average, but their selection is immense! They even have the self check out lines for those technically inclined! read more

Pretty good knowledgeable people working here. If your not exactly sure what your looking for it can be hard to know where to start so it nice that you can talk to the people here and have them give you an idea of what your looking for. Places like Home Depot are great for do it yourselfers. If your doing anything big to your home however make sure it's by code. Anyways I would give this place a 4 star but the past 3 out of 5 times I've come here I've been approached by someone asking about me remodeling my bathroom or kitchen. It's annoying that I have to keep dealing with them, telling them my story about how there services don't fit the need of my remodeling and they argue and than finally come to terms with what I'm saying. I'd like to come here and just pick up something real quick and not be bothered with other solicitations in the store. We just had a terrible experience at this store. When we bought paint everybody there seemed all nice etc. and they even took a phone order and provided accommodations until we paid. They convinced us it would look different on the wall and turns out we painted our house purple, a vibrant purple.. Had a very difficult discussion with the paint people there about how they cannot help us out at all. We saw the flaw early and were willing to negotiate . They won't consider a credit etc. The Home Depot on Sheldon was very surprised that that would happen. They said it would never happen at their location. This is my neighborhood Home Depot so I come here pretty often. They have a pretty good selection of items, but it can be difficult to find stuff. There are many times when I need to ask someone for help trying to find something but it is hard to find a staff member. If they had more staff members to assist people it would help raise the rating of the store. read more

Entered Home Depot at 6:15 pm and closing was not until 8:00 pm. Although I needed garden supplies I was forced to enter the main entrance. I was purchasing lawn soil and bags of rocks. Unfortunately I only bought 4 bags of each because my daughter and I had to drag the heavy cart through the ENTIRE store. And you know how easily those carts are to maneuver with all that weight. NOT. It's ridiculous that the garden center was not able to be accessed from the parking lot. It discourages what exactly you purchase because you have to drag it out the front door.
