I ordered 2 flower pots and 12 large bags of Miracle Grow potting soil from the Home Depot app. My local Home Depot that is the location I always shop at. Well the two pots were delivered a couple days later July 1st from the store but I did not receive the potting soil till I got home Tuesday July 6th when I got home. This was on my doorstep (see pics). My wife just had hip replacement surgery and had to enter the house from the garage. HOME DEPOT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT!!! I called my Home Depot store and asked for a manger. I was connected with Daniel, an assistant manager. He asked how he could help and I asked if I could just send him the pics you see here and he said sure. He said, "while I'm waiting for your email to show up, want to tell me your issue." I said, "I think this time, I will just have you see the pics" Daniel then said after seeing the pics, "ohhh NO WAY! This is so NOT acceptable!" He profusely apologized and said he will send over a supervisor & assistant to take of this immediately! Less than an hour later, Joel & Jay rang my bell. They also were blown away that the warehouse shipped these items like this and MOSTLY that FedEx would walk away thinking this was acceptable! So Joel & Jay asked me where I wanted them and they carried all 12 60lb bags to my backyard and neatly stacked them! They took all the cardboard boxes with them as well even though that was so not their responsibility but a great help to this OLD (66) Marine! NOW boys & girls, in life we ALL make mistakes. Making mistakes is how we learn. It's NOT the mistakes we make, it's what we do to learn and how we rectify our mistakes or complete failures! This is a GIGANTIC mistake and/or failure! Home Depot with their INCREDIBLE representatives KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK!!!! My hard earned dollars will continue to flow their way! Nice Home Depot and very welcoming because I was greeted by an employee. I was pointed to the right direction for the duck tape but when I found it I talked to another employee and explained my bumper problem on my car it became loose and so I had to tape it up until I got home. I like that the sales staff took me to the area of the gorilla tape which was best to fix my problem. I was in and out in no time. Parking is ample. read more

After they screwed up the measurements the first time (mind you, this is ONE room of carpet being installed) by a foot in each direction, rather than put me on the top of the list to get it done right away we just started the whole process over again. During that time the carpet was discontinued. Home Depot should be embarrassed to use such an awful company as USIG. We are hurricane Helene and hurricane Milton survivors. We lost everything on our first floor due to flooding. We live in Englewod Florida across the street from Lemon Bay. We hired a contractor to demo, drywall, paint, replace floors and restore the bathroom. The contractor advised us to order a specific square footage of flooring, which we did from the Venice Florida Home Depot. I used the home depot website to place the order. I entered the sqft and it spit out the price and I bought it using a credit card. We ended up having 6 boxes of unused flooring and when I went to return it the VERY FRIENDLY, NICE and customer service oriented store clerk said I could not because I bought a pallet and her system would not allow a return of the unopened boxes. I could not even get a store credit. I was perplexed that the system could not overwrite or make an exception for this situation. Remember, I ordered based on SQFT and was not even aware that I ordered a pallet. I entered the square footage and the app brought up the amount of flooring needed and I added it to the cart. She asked her supervisor to explain why these 6 unopened boxes of flooring could not be returned. This woman was RUDE, raised her voice and literally stomped off saying that I needed to talk to a manager. The very nice woman at the counter called the manager, who insisted over the phone to his employee to tell me there are no exceptions, that I had to keep the unused, unopened boxes of flooring. How unusual that the manager would not face the customer,...... I do not see why Home Depot could not do the RIGHT THING. They could have easily refunded the unopened boxes of flooring and then put them back in inventory. This area of Florida got hit really hard and I am sure there are people out there who are in need of flooring. It is not like Home Depot would lose money,.....It literally makes no sense. I worked in IT for over 30 years and KNOW that software programs have the ability to overwrite or make exceptions for similar situations. I am completely disappointed and frankly feel flabbergasted at the way they do business. Every day we wake up to a reminder of that was lost in my neighborhood. You would think an easy refund and restock would be in order in these hard times. GEESH! I am grateful that we have choices. I will not make the choice of shopping at Home Depot in the future. I went online at Home Depot to order a generator. I used my Home Depot credit card and the purchase went through fine. One glitch though was it showed I had to pick up the product from Kennesaw, GA. I live in Venice, FL. I got on the chat line with HD and they said I should cancel the order and re-order with them on the line. We cancelled. They then had me place a new order and when it came time to pay, I gave them the HD card number. They told me they had no record of the card. I had previously used the card in store with no issues. Finally after going back and forth giving them name, card number, address etc. I finally gave up and told the chat person to cancel my order that I would just buy it at Amazon because it was too big a pain to work with HD. So I know it won't change HD but from now on I will not shop there. Thankfully there is a Lowe's and several Ace Hardware Stores that will be fine. HD lost out on a sale of over $1500 by being inept. So I caution anyone trying to purchase a product from Home Depot online. I am very disappointed in Home Depot for the run around. How could my card be ok when I buy in store and on my first generator order, but not be any good the second time I had to place an order? Doesn't make sense to me. read more

l ordered blinds and installation for the whole house in October of last year. After 3 weeks of run around due to their computer problems, my order was finally paid for and was placed. This after numerous phone calls, being put on hold and disconnected multiple times daily. The initial order... which did not get installed until January, was missing a blind and one blind came damaged. it is now March and the job is not yet complete, in spite of being paid in full 6 months ago. The service has been atrocious and the attitude completely apathetic. Ive been lied to, hung up on and transferred to no where. I would NEVER do business with this company again. read more

It is frustrating and heartbreaking to witness the dead and dying plants, especially orchids, at Home Depot stores. The Venice store is the worst. I asked the assistant manager to address the issue and she argued with me as I tried to walk away and avoid a combative argument. Management is ignorant and rude, too many employees walking around having personal conversations while plants are wilting from the heat and lack of water. No employee cares. I'm done shopping here. I had actually used the email receipt program and apparently the cashier did not code it so the door alarm went off when I exited the building. I love this Home Depot and would give them 5 stars if they had a different appliance delivery/installation contractor. If you buy a large appliance here ask if the delivery/installation contractor is Ralph's Transfer Company. If it is...run...don't walk to your nearest Lowe's! My experience: I purchased a dishwasher from The Home Depot. Two men from Ralph's Transfer Company did deliver the appliance within the 4 hour window and did call me 1/2 hour before they arrived. It was all downhill from there. Within two minutes one of them (the other man admitted to not being able to speak English well) started to give me various reasons why they couldn't install my dishwasher. I was told that the supply line wasn't long enough (the 72" supply line I purchased was plenty long enough), there's a 90 degree angle in my drain line (and?), the front base of my cabinet needed to be removed (no it didn't) etc., etc. It was obvious that they were actually going to have to do some work and also obvious that they didn't want to do it. I couldn't even get them to remove and haul away the old dishwasher! I was told that I would be credited the money I paid to have the old dishwasher removed as well as the installation fee. When I called Ralph's Transfer Company to complain the woman I spoke with confirmed what I suspected...the installers get paid per installation. My installation wasn't going to be quick and easy so they said they couldn't do it and moved on to the next installation on their list. I bought a dishwasher from Lowe's 5 years ago and had no problem having it installed by the Lowe's contractor. I called my plumber who came over and couldn't believe how lazy the Ralph's Transfer Company installers were. Unless The Home Depot finds a different delivery/installation contractor I've just bought my last major appliance from them. Now I'm looking for someone to haul away the old dishwasher. I wanted to have a gas grill assembled and delivered to my parents and after getting frustrated online I picked up the phone and they orchestrated everything and made it happen. The delivery guys were nice too and when they saw my parents were older they carried the grill out back to the lanai which was above and beyond. When I'm in the area, I find the staff are mostly long term employees, helpful and knowledgeable. read more

When my just 5 year old refrigerator broke down, I wanted to have it repaired, only to be told by the repair guy that Samsung wasn't worth repairing since it was the compressor that was shot. He advised for me to shop at The Home Depot for a new one. I went right away, and was helped in the most courteous and friendly fashion by Phil in Appliances. Because of the 4th of July sale there were quite a few good deals to be had, but not in Black. I was not willing to spend $300.00 more just for Black. Phil went out of his way to find the exact make, model and color that I wanted for the price I could afford. (Whirlpool/Maytag) Yes, I have to wait awhile for it to be delivered, but it's worth it. Buyer Beware! I've been very disappointed with Home Depot regarding two sizable renovation projects we contracted with them. By the time the product is installed, you've been in contact with salesperson, measurer, product rep and installer. All of these steps are necessary, but since all are subcontractors, no one wants to take responsibility when there's an issue. Mohawk wants me to spend $400 to have someone come out to evaluate if my carpet has a flaw even though the installer said it did. The measurer on this job cut it so tight that we ended up with some very noticeable seams and not a remnant big enough for the installer to leave behind. On the granite we had installed in 3 bathrooms, DSI was the subcontractor. They incorrectly cut one of the pieces, installed a broken backsplash and charged me to buffed a piece they had installed with a glue residue line. Home Depot, Mohawk or Distinctive Surfaces of Sarasota never once asked what they could do to satisfy me as a customer. If you want to be another contract number and be s.o.l if you have an issue, be my guest and try them out. Good luck. read more

2 issues come to mind since I live 1 mile from this outlet and have conducted all my business here for almost 30 years. 1) There is a competition in Home Improvement Supplies. It would not surprise me if some competitors post false claims with false identifications to attempt potential shoppers to shop where they work in order to save their employment. This store is a 5 Rating. 2) If someone purchases an appliance and at it's destination, it fails. That does not have anything to do with Any retailer. It is a issue with the manufacturer. Rented a van to go from Venice to Cape Coral Fl to pick up a recliner. About 15 miles down the highway we had a flat tire. Called the customer service and they said we were responsible for fixing it. We had nothing to do with this flat tire. They were extremely rude. Talked to the manager and he was just as rude. I would think the vehicles would be in running condition before renting. So not only are we paying for a tire to be changed, we also are paying the hourly rate for renting! Not a happy camper. read more

Management here needs a major overhaul. Absolutely rude people. I came down here for a week to help my parents do some home repairs and get their new place ready for moving in. My dad and I came in to get some shelving and other stuff. We found 3 wire shelving 6ft and we needed 4. The only one left was previously returned and had been cut shorter than 6 ft. We took it since we might be able to cut 2 shelves out of it. At checkout, I asked the manager about getting a discount on it, since it's been cut shorter than 6 ft. It was actually about 5 ft. He replied, that we dont do that, I told him, well you cant sell it for full price, because it's been cut and is now shorter than its advertised length. He replies with " how do I know you didn't have have someone cut it in the back?", ok dumbass, I didn't even know you cut shelves at home depot, and second, its effing rude to make an accusation like that. In previous weeks, we had communicated several times. It was all set for today. It was a two-man job. They were supposed to call around 8 or 8:30 a.m. to confirm their arrival. No one called. When I checked on it, the lady said Felipe would be there in 10-15 minutes. He arrived an hour later. When he got there, he said it was a two-man job and left. When I called the installer, they sent out Vladimir. When he arrived, he said it was a two-man job and left. No one called to explain. Now they say two guys will be there tomorrow. Will they show up? Most of my experience has been in the plumbing section where the staff have be extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I have installed a hot water heater and redid our bathroom plumbing after new countertops were installed. We also purchased a fridge (6-7 years ago) from this store and while we have had some issues with the fridge, it was not Home Depot's fault. Great store in our opinion. read more

We purchased a Silestone quartz countertop(black) last year, through home depot which uses Distinctive Surfaces. We had problems with staining next to the sink, I went to home depot, they said contact Distinctive Surfaces. It took a month of contacting them, and contacting Home Depot Corporate before someone would come look at it. The person who looked at it said the staining happens all the time to the dark colors. The quartz is still under warranty. I got an email from Distinctive Surfaces saying that said my claim was denied. The material is still under warranty. I could not find out why it was denied, nor was provided paperwork stating such. Distinctive Surfaces agreed to split the cost for the new piece of countertop with home depot and myself. I did not hear back, called Home Depot, they left me a voice mail saying they were paying for the install and would not pay any part of the counter top. Distinctive Surfaces just emailed me saying they were only the installer, funny that two weeks ago they were willing to share the cost to replace the damaged piece. Beware, neither they, Silestone or Home Depot stands by the product. After 8 weeks of trying to resolve this, I've paid for a new countertop. I would expect that quartz would last more than a year. read more

We made two major purchases here, in flooring I would like to mention Yvetot Coquillon who went above and beyond to help us with our purchase. We also replaced all the windows on our home , from the sales rep who came to our home to the installation services manager Al Salazar who was courteous and professional, the whole experience was top notch. As I painted the walls, I thought it looked funny, but thought it just needed to dry. No. I went back to the Port Charlotte store and showed them the cans and they told me that Venice had used Sherwin Williams color code and not Behr. When I went back and told Venice (and also showed them the cans that had Behr on the mark but clearly SW mix to the coding), I was met with this stiff wall of store policy. Got your receipt? Who said you could have a refund? Got ID? I did finally get store credit (like I want it after your mainstream policy reactions). You ask me, I should have gotten my money back, sales slip or not, given it was SOOO.... YOUR MISTAKE. I have to repaint my bedroom now because of your screw up, thank you. I purchased laminate flooring from the local The Home Depot in Venice, FL. The sales associate, Joe F., was very helpful and professional. My experience with him was very positive; however, when it came to getting the flooring installed everything went down hill. The project was contracted out to the local US Installations Group office in Venice. Sadly, I was not able to get a simple document (required by our condo association) completed and signed for more than 3 months. My efforts on the paperwork included many emails and calls to the contractor's general manager, as well as the store (installation coordinator and store manager). With no resolution in sight, I ended up finding an independent contractor, Venice Flooring Services, on HomeAdvisor.com. The entire process, from contacting the contractor, having the documents signed and approved, and completing the job, only took three weeks. And, we saved $80! I will never, I repeat never, use a outsourced contractor from this store again! read more

I will never buy appliances through this Home Depot again! I ordered over $4,200 worth of appliances. Was promised a delivery date of February 1st. Received a call changing the date to February 15th. This is horrible because I am trying to put my house on the market. After numerous calls finally had to accept the new date with promises that I will receive it then. The day prior to the delivery date I received another message changing the date again. This time for another week. I stopped going to this location after Lowes opened. I have recently been back and see that the employees are still rude and can't be bothered with simple questions or directions. Then to find out that the majority of their security cameras don't work according to the employee in lighting and there is No one running security for this building. When I went to customer service about a stolen item the female manager and TWO other employees were assisting ONE customer. Needless to say after a ten min wait i left. To make a long story short the people at Verizon know what true customer service is. Good thing it wasn't my purse that had been stolen. Purchased a GE Profile Electric slide in double oven in November, 2015 from Home Depot. May, 2016 all burners on stove broke. Parts were replaced June, 2016 & burners still not working. Finally, July, 2016, all electric boards were replaced & stove burners working. October, 2016, stove burners NOT working again!, Repairman was called for service. He checked stove & said all electric boards need to be replaced AGAIN! Waiting for replacement boards to come. Still do not have a working stove.
